I’m The Only Convert To Judaism Who Actively Seeks Out Anti-Semites

I call it outreach.

You might call it betrayal.

Anyway, the natives are restless in my chat room:

Gina:  Luke claims I’m a tease
Gina:  he knows me so well
palestine4ever:  Gina, what is your relationship with Luke?
Gina:  didn’t know we had 1
palestine4ever:  How do you know him and why?
Gina:  mostly in our minds
Gina:  why not?
Gina:  he’s my cousin
Gina:  kissin
YourMoralLeader:  Happy Birthday Emma!
Gina:  doesn’t Emma seem more mature Luke?
palestine4ever:  She’s damaged goods at 20.
palestine4ever:  In my country, women past 19 can be had for an electric sewing machine.
palestine4ever:  What the "frick"?
nicolletista:  i think it’s outrageous that luke spoke of an ex-episcopal priest
YourMoralLeader:  Emma, Greatness comes to those who take it.
palestine4ever:  That’s a sign you’ve been spending too much time with children.
nicolletista:  sir, i remind you that the current episcopal bishop of new hampshire is gay
palestine4ever:  Nic, I share your outrage.
nicolletista:  i knew i could count on you p4e
WELSHDRAGON:  warming up here!!1
palestine4ever:  I’ve been vexxed with Luke since I woke up and saw five posts shilling for clients
nicolletista:  yeah i know the guy is DESPERATE but realy luke
Gina:  ya but admit it your computer IS running faster
nicolletista:  and i DO love my new handbag
nicolletista:  but that being said
palestine4ever:  I do not understand how this is better than humble but demeaning work at the McDonalds
Gina:  and my new bra
palestine4ever:  No, Gina, unlike the POSEUR in the shirt I have a mac so his crazy spyware affiliate progs do not work
nicolletista:  but it’s the fake VOICE that kills me
nicolletista:  the thing i love about levi’s jounalism is that he DID NOT FAKE ANYTHING
palestine4ever:  It’s like listening to a kid tell his Aunt Helen that he loves her
nicolletista:  you can call him a piece of s**t, a kike, a fake kike…he PRINTS IT and LOVES IT
nicolletista:  but this crap?  c’mon!
palestine4ever:  50% of the content today is advertising
Gina:  I actually have an Aunt Helen, and I never professed my love
nicolletista:  this is why i can’t believe idiot union…what could possibly be more humiliating than what he admits to every day?
palestine4ever:  We can all live with the ads — I even click to support the humble brudda — but that’s troubling
nicolletista:  duplicity?  please!
nicolletista:  i hit the tip button myself
nicolletista:  i just can’t believe he isn’t about this
palestine4ever:  Yes, and he’s surrounded by enablers.
palestine4ever:  Not one of them shared my furious outrage.
nicolletista:  p4e what are we going to do with young levi over there
palestine4ever:  They’re like, "that’s our Levi!"
nicolletista:  "oh, that scamp"
palestine4ever:  They have no thought of reforming his character in a stern but loving way.
nicolletista:  don’t they realize that luke is ENDANGERING THE BRAND
palestine4ever:  Exactly
nicolletista:  i read the interview with stephen bloom–great stuff
palestine4ever:  If I preach the Gospel of Luke and that person got sick of it and finally checked it out — what if they visited today?
Gina:  Breaking News:  CNN reports that gas stations will start showing PORN movies on the screens of the pumps so that you can see someone else get screwed at the same time you do.
palestine4ever:  I have a reputation to uphold as a Website Recommender.
nicolletista:  now i’m like, maybe he’s gonna try to sell me a prada knockoff
palestine4ever:  Luke, people that love you do so because you take no prisoners.
palestine4ever:  I would even call it courage
nicolletista:  i mean luke is the only convert to judaism in the world who ACTIVELY SEKKS OUT ANTI SEMITES…
nicolletista:  and enjoys it!
palestine4ever:  In a small and meek way

Stop Whining About Higher Gas Prices

By any comparative measure, gas is still cheap.

It costs me $80 to fill my tank and I need to do that every two weeks.

I get about ten miles to the gallon.

Gasoline is not my major car expense. It’s repairs. I just spent $3000 to put a 25-year old engine into my vehicle.

Slate has a great article:

Gasoline is also a fairly minor expense when you consider the overall cost of car ownership. In 1975, gasoline made up 33.4 percent of the total cost of owning and operating a car. By 2006, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, gasoline costs had declined to just 17.1 percent of the total cost of car ownership. Of course, fuel costs have risen by about $1 per gallon since 2006, but even with those increases, fuel continues to be a relatively small part of the cost of car ownership. By contrast, the fixed costs of ownership—insurance, licensing, taxes, and financing—have increased nearly fivefold since 1975. Maintenance costs have also quintupled over the same time period.

…American gasoline is also dirt-cheap compared with gas in other countries. British motorists are currently paying about $8.38 per gallon for gasoline. In Norway, a major oil exporter, drivers are paying $8.73. In 2007, out of the 32 industrialized countries surveyed by the International Energy Agency, only one (Mexico) had cheaper gasoline than the United States. Last year, drivers in Turkey were paying three times as much for their gasoline as Americans were. The IEA data also show that in India—where the per capita gross domestic product is about $2,700 (about 6 percent of the per capita GDP in the United States)—drivers have been paying more for their diesel fuel and gasoline than their American counterparts.

(Gasoline is also cheap compared with other essential fuels. A Starbucks venti latte costs the equivalent of $23 per gallon while Budweiser beer runs $11 per gallon.)

‘What Kind Of Orthodox Jew Are You?’

A friend calls.

I confess my sins.

Friend: "What kind of Orthodox Jew are you?"

He’s irate.

Luke: "A horny one."

Friend: "I can’t wait till you give it up.

"You could be extremely dangerous. I see you in ten years as some kind of secret agent for the Vatican. You’ll say, ‘I saw it from the inside. I saw them take an infant from an incubator and suck its blood to make matza. I was on the inside.’

"I can’t wait for your book. It’ll be on DavidDuke.com/lukeistruth.

"You don’t see yourself in a Da Vinci Code double agent role?

"You’ll say, ‘I saw Jewish doctors give Gentile babies tay-sachs so they can kill the kids quickly to get the blood for the matza.’

"’I was a candy striper at Ceders-Sinai. I saw Operation Nine Days of Light. It’s all an attempt to lessen our dependence on Saudi oil by powering the grid with Gentile blood.’"

My friend then suggested a Jeff’s Gourmet eat-off contest between two prominent and rotund Pico/Robertson Orthodox rabbis.

Because I recently studied Jewish laws against shame, I will not publish their names. Just use your imagination. What a fundraiser!

Hear Howard Stern’s Filthy Perversion Of Dolly Parton’s New Audio Book

Defamer reports:

We really take no pleasure in informing you that two of our idols—early tickle-machine adopter Howard Stern and top-heavy country legend Dolly Parton—are currently at war, but such is the case. To get you up to date, last week, Stern broadcast edited portions of her self-narrated audio book to form several beyond-filthy phrases. (Like, seriously: NSFW. This is the kind of stuff you imagine hearing at a 4 a.m. "Aristocrats" session around Bob Saget’s jacuzzi after a night of Tuaca shots and blow. As such, it’s hilarious.) Parton has had a listen, and released this statement in response:

"I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life,"

"I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me. In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth. They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing. Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this."

"If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it’s going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."

‘Evan Gahr Is Baruch Goldstein Meets David Berkowitz’

A friend calls me with his fantasies about Evan.

Here’s some background on Goldstein, Berkowitz and Gahr.

Friend: "Instead of the talking dog, he’s got the talking chimp. I can see the stuffed animal talking to him in the middle of the night. ‘You need to kill! Operation Chiquita!’ Then unloads a clip into a bunch of school kids.

"I can see Evan doing the perp walk with an evil smirk on his face. It’ll be like something out of the Stephen King book, ‘The Dead Zone.’ I don’t even have to shake his hand. I already know how this will turn out.

"He’ll be saying, ‘Chimpstein told me to kill.’

"He’ll be represented by the ghost of William Kuntsler.

"Maybe they’ll furlough Collin Ferguson to represent him."

Ferguson was a killer who represented himself after shooting a bunch of people on the Long Island railroad in a fit of black rage.

Surprisingly, he was convicted.

Friend: "Can you imagine who would be called as witnesses in this thing? David Horowitz. Sean Hannity. Paul Weyrich. The only person to have to take a ramp on to the witness stand. Linda Chavez. It will be a who’s who of conservative journalism and punditry.

"They’ll be reading from his columns. The Obama-rapper column he just did.

"He’s like a latter-day Berkowitz. They’ll need to make a movie — Summer of Evan.

"The letters he’d be sending to the New York Post: ‘You ended my column but not my spree! I’m too prolific to be stopped.’

"You’ll get the exclusive. He’ll give you the first interview when he calls you from Rikers Island collect.

"And you’d have to raise money to pay your phone bill because you’re accepting these collect phone calls."

‘It’s a white delusion that inside every third worlder is a liberal ex-Episcopal priest waiting to get out’

The California Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriage is great news for Republicans this November. Voters will turn out in droves to overturn this decision.

If I were a homo, I wonder which of the rabbis who’ve rejected me would I most want to marry?

I can only love someone who’s rejected me.

From my live cam chat:

ClareQuilty:  Good afternoon.
ClareQuilty:  I see you are wearing a t-shirt with a product placement on it.  I hope you are being compensated for this
ClareQuilty:  For you sake, and not merely the meretricious concerns that concern us all.
ClareQuilty:  For if you are giving it away to the gentile Jobs, how can you truly be Jewish?
ClareQuilty:  The rabbis of the orthodox world will not answer this in the desired way.
ClareQuilty:  I hear emergency vehicles
ClareQuilty:  Or merely Mexicans doing their work for the Anglo?
YourMoralLeader:  merely mexicans
ClareQuilty:  Luke, I see that men may now marry other men in  California.
YourMoralLeader:  This is great news for Republicans. Massive backlash at the ballot in November.
ClareQuilty:  If you were that way, which of your former rabbis would you now want to take in holy matrimony
ClareQuilty:  I don’t see the Hispanics pining for gay marriage
ClareQuilty:  It’s a white delusion that inside every third worlder is a liberal ex-Episcopal priest waiting to get out
YourMoralLeader:  brilliant!
ClareQuilty:  Your standards are low.
ClareQuilty:  Why aren’t we rich?
ClareQuilty:  Why why why?
ClareQuilty:  This is what some Russkie woman once asked of me.
ClareQuilty:  If a man can marry another man, why the heck can’t he marry TWO men?
YourMoralLeader:  Because our abilities are not rewarded in the marketplace.
ClareQuilty:  Hence, socialism is for us
ClareQuilty:  How can we make money off of gay marriage?  The Simpsons provided the answer.  You need to get some sort of smicha so that you can marry gay jews to one another.

Orthodox Judaism’s Conversion Controversy

To quote Toby Katz, commenting on Cross-Currents:

The RCA is upset because so many RCA rabbis have done conversions that they never should have done — converting women who had no intention of ever keeping mitzvos, just so they could marry Jewish men who also had no intention of keeping mitzvos, but wanted to make their mothers happy (which they could have done more easily by marrying Jewish women to start with, but never mind)

But in truth this has long been a serious halachic question, and we are now dealing with the fallout of hundreds or thousands such dubious “Orthodox” conversions over a period of many years. If a convert never had any intention of accepting mitzvos and never lived a religious life, then according to most poskim (including many in the RCA, which is internally more divided than its press release would indicate), there never was a conversion in the first place.

When personal tragedies now result, the pain and heartache must be laid at the feet of the rabbis who bowed to the pressure of their congregants and performed these illegitimate conversions, with the full knowledge that these people never intended to be sincere halachic converts.

A friend writes: "Of all the quotes on that page, including some by well known people, you chose that one? I think you just lost a reader and a friend."

This is the same friend who’s told me — unsolicited — that my own conversion to Judaism was not adequate and where I should go to remedy things.

Now he wants to emotionally blackmail me from offering points of view contrary to his own?

I bet almost all of the thousands of Modern Orthodox converts to Judaism whose conversions were just overturned looked down upon and did not accept the Jewishness of those who converted to Judaism through non-Orthodox streams (if they authentically converted to Orthodox Judaism they have no alternative).

Now the shoe’s on the other foot and they don’t like it.

Tough.

This is the nature of the religion you and I have tried to join.

This is the life we chose.

It’s like becoming a member of the Mafia and then complaining about an order to kill somebody.

I admit it’s fun to see the Rabbinical Council of America (the main rabbinic body for America’s Modern Orthodox) — which does not accept rabbis from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah (on the left-wing of Modern Orthodoxy) — now invalidated by its chareidi overseers in Israel.

I don’t care if highly Orthodox Jews choose to not accept my conversion to Judaism or anybody else’s conversion. I think it is strange when such Jews lecture me about my shortcomings without my soliciting their opinion while at the same time they try to be friends with me.

On the one hand, they bludgeon me with their unasked for judgments on intimate things and on the other hand, they want to be close to me.

Weird.

These people lack some social calibration skills.

Regarding my friend’s comment above, I didn’t choose that quote by Toby Katz from a string of comments. I took it because it was posted to me. I have a million things to do today to try to make some money to survive. My reader Kishke posted that comment. I thought it was interesting. I reposted it.

To end a friendship because I quote people you disagree with, that’s bizarre and petty.

Everybody expects me to be all sensitive and on the side of those whose conversions were overturned.

I rarely take sides on my blog and I’m not taking sides now.

I choose to post stuff I find interesting, whether I agree with it or not.

People often tell me that they are offended by something I’ve said or written. Unless you are a close friend of mine, why would you think I care?

"My feelings are hurt and I’m offended" is the type of comment you expect from a weak-minded girl.

If I write something that offends you, that’s between you and your therapist. I don’t write this blog to make my readers feel good. I write out of weird internal compulsions that I barely understand. This blog is overwhelmingly instinctive. I think or feel or read something that somehow strikes some chord in me — the chord could be of humor or disgust or anger or joy — and I post it.

Just because a story or a comment strikes home to you and makes you feel things, why would that entitle you to ream me? You should blog (some of) your thoughts and feelings. I never bother to tell people I interact with that I disagreed with something they said or wrote, let alone say that I was offended. I don’t waste my breath.

If somebody writes something that offends me, I might discuss it with my therapist/shrink or closest friends or blog about it.

This attitude of "You wrote something that offends me and now you’re out of my life" strikes me as very gay (in a bad way). It sounds like Andrew Sullivan — the Queen of Hissy Fit Blogging.

My friend emails: "Maybe you can’t understand it because your life is built around artifice. Porn, mock romances over the internet, make believe Jewish identity (you can’t be called a convert because according to your notes you never formally converted), a life of make believe, no children, no job, no responsibilities. Kierkegaard would have referred to this fall into illusion as "despair". Perhaps worrying about one’s children seems "gay" to you, but perhaps in your world any dealing with reality that doesn’t reflect the idyll of soft rock songs may be entirely foreign."

Is Your Computer Running Slow?

I’ve done a lot of things for my computers over the years, but the single best thing I’ve done is spend about $18 for Advanced Registry Optimizer.

My PC has been running sweet and fast eversince.

From its website, the optimizer can help if you:

Your Computer and Internet are suddenly slowing down.
You cannot remove some programs from your computer.
One of your programs worked yesterday, but not today.

An application stopped working after you installed new hardware / software.
Your system doesn’t work the way it used to.

When you try to shut down the computer, it keeps beeping time and again.
 Your computer doesn’t boot-up properly!

It gives:

  • Faster system speeds.
  • Improved system response time.
  • Smooth system operation.
  • Fewer error messages.
  • An optimized registry.
  • A more stable system.

The second best thing I’ve done is use AOL’s free McAfee virus protection plan.

Joe emails:

If RegistryOptimizer is worth pushing, why don’t you have an affiliate link for it so you can make money if someone follows up on your recommendation?

http://www.sammsoft.com/Privacy_Utility_Security/Affiliates.aspx

$25 a pop.

I think this idea of using your blog to promote things that you know and can recommend is a good one and especially for you, because it’s organic to what you do. But you need to have affiliate links and/or get private advertising where appropriate–I’ll remind you that half of johnchow.com‘s $30K/month blog-earnings are from private advertising.

I tried to sign up as an affiliate and their email address bounces back. Whoa. That encourages my confidence. What a bunch of idiots.

The Clintons & Race

Evan Gahr writes for Human Events:

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch likes to call himself “a liberal with sanity.”

Koch tends to casually blurt out entirely logical opinions which invariably offend what should be any liberal’s core constituencies.

Blacks. Now, Koch has once again proved himself a skunk at the liberal garden party. In an interview with this reporter,  Koch, who remains committed to Hillary Clinton for president, disputed the conventional wisdom among liberals, journalists and black leaders that the Clinton presidential campaign has repeatedly played the race card against Barack Obama.  For proof, Clinton paraphrased an AP story that, she said, “found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans is weakening again, and how whites in both states were supporting me.”

Koch also strongly defended notorious remarks by Bill Clinton the day of the South Carolina primary. With Obama expected to win, Clinton told reporters, “Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in ’84 and ’88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here."

The backlash left Koch bewildered. Jesse Jackson was a superb candidate.”

What really reeks of “racism,” says Koch, is the suggestion that comparing Jesse Jackson to Obama “is to denigrate Obama.”

For that, Koch said, Jackson “deserves kudos”

Koch is not, however, willing to forgive Obama for his 20 year relationship with the now illustrious Jeremiah Wright. McCain even argued unsuccessfully that the North Carolina GOP not to air a television advertisement linking Obama and Wright.

“If you hold [Obama] responsible for [Wright’s] words that’s wrong,” Koch argued. Obama, he says, “spoke up twenty years too late.”

Who is Koch voting for in November if it’s Obama vs. McCain? If Obama can’t count on support from a traditional Democrat like Koch he could be in trouble with other like-minded voters.
