Obama Talks To Hamas

Joe emails:

Well, there is your change. After a no-b.s. policy under which Hamas was not offered a seat at the table, Obama will take a listen, because that is what a good appeaser does.

Now, of course, to be fair, everyone and their uncle talked to the PLO all the while denying it. Hell, Israel was having slumber parties in Oslo with the PLO while denying that direct talks were occurring. But, as they say, this time it is different.

The PLO was a political enemy of Israel. The PLO played by the niceties of post-Holocaust Jew treatment. The PLO was about fulfilling the political dreams of the Palestinian "people" and not an inch more. Once they confined that dream to a two-state nonviolent solution, the US opened up a small dialogue in 1988. In 1991, when the PLO was caught trying to do an amphibious landing in Tel Aviv, George H.W. Bush cut off ties. After that, it became clear, that the PLO was not about posing an existential threat to Israel at this exact moment. Talking to it in private was a reasonable idea (I do not say good – it has been a complete unmitigated disaster, but no one’s hindsight is perfect).

With Hamas, there has been no such domestication or test periods. Hamas has to do nothing to be offered the lovely drinking water supplied on a marble table in the US embassy in Cairo. Hamas can keep its murderous charter, it can keep its rockets, tunnels and absolute sovereignty from any rule of international law, including that small rule about not having a charter that calls for genocide against Jews that has been canon since around 1945 or so. No, all Hamas needed was a left wing government in the US that views anything that Bush did as completely worthless.

Make no mistake. Negotiating with Hamas without Hamas getting on bended knee weakens Israel. Obama could care less, and I would bet the same can be said of the 75% of Jews who voted for Obama. And do not give me the canard that you talk to your enemies or you talk to no one. You talk to your enemies when they have made the first gesture of being open to accommodation. Otherwise, you fight your enemies. All that Hamas has done is comply with a six month truce in which they accumulated more rockets than Oprah has belly fat.

How To Date A JAP In Recessionary Times

Here is how I date while spending very little money:

* Take chicks to shul, particularly when there’s a lavish kiddish.
* Cook dinner myself and stream a movie at no extra charge from netflix.
* Meet for coffee. Get the iced tea option at Starbucks. Refills are only 50s.
* Go for a walk.
* Study Torah one-on-one or with the world via my cam.
* Take a yoga class after you’ve bought the unlimited classes option.

David Kelsey writes for Jewcy:

You have to give the federation controlled "independent" NY Jewish Week credit. Most Jewish periodicals bitch and whine like Amy Klein about Jewish "stereotypes." But the Jewish Week,  which broadly services the entire NY Jewish community all the way from the Conservadox on the Left to the Left-Wing Modern Orthodox on the Right, is comfortable operating within such…expectations.

Offering advice on how to date cheaply, Alan Zeitlin writes of one poor soul,

On the third date, if he really liked a woman, he used to take her take to dinner and a Broadway show, but now he can only afford dinner.

The hardship of our community has hit a new level of suffering. I had heard rumors of settling for off-Broadway shows on third dates, but the continued economic crisis is much worse than even I realized.

“When the bill comes, you’ve got to have a poker face,” he said. “I’ve seen guys recently who suddenly forget they’re on a date and itemize things on the bill and look disturbed. They look like they’re in physical pain and here they went to all this trouble and they end up not looking very attractive.

Speaking from experience, it may not be the bill. I can tell you that this is most common if you find out at the last minute that your date is a vegetarian, or keeps a modifed kosher existence and only eats "dairy out." Gentlemen, when dating a Jewish Week type of woman, always, always have lactaid pills on hand. It’s far more likely you will need that pill than you will a condom.

ChaimAmalek:  Concerning the Jewish Week piece, I have the following observations
ChaimAmalek:  Dating without alcohol = no sex.
YourMoralLeader:  i love yoga
ChaimAmalek:  That’s why you don’t get any
ChaimAmalek:  Yoga is for fags
ChaimAmalek:  Also, Juden are dating themselves out of existence.
ChaimAmalek:  Dating, dating for years and decades
ChaimAmalek:  The orthodox have a better understanding of what is at stake.
ChaimAmalek:  Even the Persian and Iraqi Jews, as loathsome as they are, at least understand going in that it is all about money
ChaimAmalek:  And get the deal done
ChaimAmalek:  But the Upper West Side Jew? The LA blogger?  A doomed subspecies
ChaimAmalek:  Hello Fats
ChaimAmalek:  Such a name is of value only if it inspires you to lose it
ChaimAmalek:  Luke, yoga is the new porn
ChaimAmalek:  ie, it won’t work out
ChaimAmalek:  How can I pontificate before so small an audience?
ChaimAmalek:  In truth, I cannot.
YourMoralLeader:  why dont chicks burn warts off their faces?
YourMoralLeader:  and nair their hairy faces?
YourMoralLeader:  if you did yoga, you would be less angry
ChaimAmalek:  You said the same thing about Orthodox Judaism, thinking it would get you money, women, and fame.
ChaimAmalek:  And look where you are today
ChaimAmalek:  where do you see a woman’s face with warts and hair?
YourMoralLeader:  i see it a lot and it makes me sick
ChaimAmalek:  What sort of women?  rich? poor?
ChaimAmalek:  I once saw a woman with long long hair on her areolas
ChaimAmalek:  Luke, you need to look past the temporary  surface features to the beauty within
ChaimAmalek:  Your failure to do that, combined with your lack of ambition and hence wealth, is why you are a confirmed bachelor
WELSHDRAGON:  looking slick luke-u had a little trim on ya barnett???
ChaimAmalek:  How do you do, wd
ChaimAmalek:  Still no Emma sightings to report
WELSHDRAGON:  good mate and u?
WELSHDRAGON:  does she come here anymore?
ChaimAmalek:  375 pounds and rising.
WELSHDRAGON:  russians not been in either?
ChaimAmalek:  no eggs, no nobody
ChaimAmalek:  it was the fresh eggs that brought in the masses of asses looking for lasses
WELSHDRAGON:  this rooms gone to the dogs!!! great banter in the past?
ChaimAmalek:  Back in the day, LukeFord1.1 was THEplace to be on the web!
WELSHDRAGON:  i suspect luke may have got her over to la and buried her in the back garden?
ChaimAmalek:  And I’m not really joking about that
WELSHDRAGON:  why’s it gone so s**t here? have people fell out or what?
ChaimAmalek:  I refer to his original site. It had it all – smart writers, aggrieved porn sluts, fringe celebrities
ChaimAmalek:  And now…nothing
WELSHDRAGON:  keep coming back in the hope that it’ll return to its former glory?
ChaimAmalek:  It went to s**t because Luke forgot who brung him to the dance, went taliban and ditched the interesting people for his endless writings on the rabbinate
ChaimAmalek:  Yeah, but I know it won’t
ChaimAmalek:  dead is dead
ChaimAmalek:  And sadly, there is no Cathy Seipp in sight to elevate things
WELSHDRAGON:  religion does’nt sell luke-sex does-sex this room up a little and we’re off again!!!
ChaimAmalek:  He won’t
WELSHDRAGON:  get back to the porn
ChaimAmalek:  Poverty + middle age = no sex
WELSHDRAGON:  luke when did u last have a shag?
ChaimAmalek:  This was a cool place, six years back
ChaimAmalek:  Women can tell when it has been a while.  It turns them off
ChaimAmalek:  I refer to its predecessor web sites as the places to be
ChaimAmalek:  There used to be hot women in luke’s web world
ChaimAmalek:  parties, las vegas trips
ChaimAmalek:  writers, etc
ChaimAmalek:  All gone
WELSHDRAGON:  so luke when did u lose ya way with the ladies?
ChaimAmalek:  When he cut his balls off to placate his rabbis, all to no positive effect
WELSHDRAGON:  nice hair clip
WELSHDRAGON:  fats
ChaimAmalek:  They said "leave the porn, and we will make of you a great nation"  it never happened
WELSHDRAGON:  liars
ChaimAmalek:  He died all that they asked, and for what?
WELSHDRAGON:  on a positive note luke can get u cheap airfare
ChaimAmalek:  This?

A Dangerous Time For Jews

This just came through the Georgetown synagogue Kesher Israel (Rabbi Barry Freundel): "Given the current situation in Israel, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington has alerted synagogues in the area that there is a chance for anti-Israel demonstrations around the region. To be clear, there is absolutely no reason to believe that this will directly affect our community. But, we wanted to let you know, that if by some chance, something does occur around our area or in Kesher Israel on Shabbat, our policy is to ignore the disruption. We will not engage the disruptors in debate or discussion within the confines of the synagogue and believe that it is best to ignore the protests as much as possible and not engage in any activity that would play into their hands and/or create a hilul Hashem. In the unlikely event that a disruption does occur, please ignore the disruptor(s) and allow the gabbaim to deal with the issue."

Father Richard John Neuhaus Croaked

Evan Gahr emails:

He expired today.  He was such an apologist for Christian anti-Semitism that I told people jokingly he was the author of Kristalnot: Why Kristalnacht was anti-Shopkeeper not anti-Semitic.

Marty Peretz laughed really loud when I told him that joke.  Right when the whole thing started I met with Neuhaus.  He was quite charming.  I brought Chimpstein with me and told him Chimpstein’s story and he posed with him for me.

First Weyrich then him.  I’ve noticed that there’s usually groups of the same kind of people dying around the same time.

I showed Weyrich the picture of Father Neuhaus and he thought it was hillarious.  He was a deacon in his Church and he told me that he  wanted to get dressed up in this special outfit he wore for Easter and have his picture taken.

I email Evan: "What was the context for Neuhaus holding Chimpstein?"

Evan Gahr replies:

I was fired in 2001. In 2002 I think it was June I was extremely angry and in great pain. I called him up . I think we had talked once before for one of my stories (unrelated to Weyrich). So I called him. He didn’t have the slightest idea who I was. I said I’m in need of spiritual counseling. Can you give a Jew spiritual counseling? He said sure come on down. So I brought a tape recorder because I thought I would interview him about anti-Semitism. So we mainly talked about anti-Semitism.

I asked him about the prominent Baptist minister who in 1980 created a major storm when he said God doesn’t hear the prayers of Jews. Bailey Smith. This was the year after Weyrich had helped Jerry Falwell found the Moral Majority. Weyrich told me when Bailey Smith said this he called up reporters and said of course God hears the prayers of Jews. But none of them quoted him because they had a story line of Christian v. Jew and his comments would have complicated the story. Typical reporters. People overstate liberal media bias. Sheer laziness is the controlling principle in newsrooms not ideology.

Back to Bailey Smith. He quickly apologized by the way but the neo-cons to this day defend him. It’s sort of the way even after Kruschev gave his speech denouncing the crimes of Stalin lefties here still defend him. In 2003 I called Bailey Smith for an unrelated story. I mentioned the controversy and he went on and on how sorry he was and how there was no hatred in his heart for Jews and he loves Jews and he loves Israel. He told me right after he said the Jewish prayer think he went to Israel with something like 30 rabbis to make up for what he said. I told that to Marc Stern a top official at the American Jewish Congress and he said,"Going to Israel with 30 rabbis — that is enough to make anyone an anti-Semite.’"

In 1984 Irving Kristol wrote an essay in Commentary defending Bailey Smith and saying the Jewish reaction was liberal bias. He said who cares what a Protestant minister thinks and he posed no danger to Jews. Of course neither did Jesse Jackson when he said Hymietown but for that the neo-cons savage him to this day.

Back to Father Neuhaus. He told me Bailey Smith’s comment was not anti-Semitic it was just a theological statement. Of course when Farrakhan gave a speech at Madison Square Garden around 1985 and said Judaism is a gutter religion or some such thing that was also a theological statement made by a minister. So by this logic they should have shrugged off his remarks.

So I said I guess you’re going to tell me that Father Coughlin was anti-New Deal not anti-Semitic. He laughed and said no he was probably an anti-Semite.

Then I told him the whole Weyrich/Hudson/Chimpstein story, took out Chimpstein and asked him to pose for the pic.

I just remembered something interesting about Neuahaus that I have due to inside knowledge. Right when the Weyrich thing started Don Feder, a Jewish conservative who is rabidly conservative got an assignment from Neuhaus to defend Weyrich. But maybe two weeks later one of the big Jewish contributors to his magazine I think his name is David Novak and he is a rabbi and historian wrote an article in the Wall STreet Journal criticizing Weyrich and saying his remarks were clearly anti-Semitic. Right after that Neuhaus told Feder that he didn’t want the article defending Weyrich. Feder thought probably correctly that Neuahaus did that because he didn’t want to offend Novak.

So that’s a very long answer to your question. You and many others find this whole thing fascinating but I guess it’s just a matter of me getting things into a format that an editor would want.

I actually want to call you soon to discuss.

By the way, when I talked to David Novak and mentioned Rabbi Lapin defending the Christian Right, he said,"Lapin is a hustler. He’ll say anything anybody wants to hear. But if you print that I’ll deny it."

I laughed and said I guess you know journalism very well. He said yeah my son is a journalist.

Andrew Breitbart Launches ‘Big Hollywood’

I interview Andrew by phone Wednesday afternoon about his new website BigHollywood.Breitbart.com.

I previously interviewed Andrew in 2004 about his book "Hollywood, Interrupted."

Luke: "Why do this website?"

Andrew: "The number one reason is that the conservative movement has completely detached itself from pop culture and thinks it can survive in the 21st Century on politics and legislation alone and political rhetoric and great writing reflecting conservative principles. That is not going to happen. What needs to happen is that the conservative movement, based in Washington D.C. for the most part with ancillary entitiies in New York City, Dallas, Virginia, these people have ignored anything west of the MIssississippi for a generation. They’re suffering the consequences. The election of Barack Obama is evidence of that. The conservative movement did not embrace Ronald Reagan initially. He was successful…because he came from Hollywood and understood the importance of communication and pop culture. It took the conservative movement a long time to realize that that magic was a good way to sell conservatism.

"The conservative movement needs to focus on Hollywood in countless ways. It needs to encourage its young to go out to Hollywood to become screenwriters, actors, producers, below the line workers. It also needs to focus on Hollywood proper — film reviews and become engaged in the debate out there. We have so many people in the conservative movement who write about legislation and political controversies every single day. There seems to be about 50 people writing on the same subject every day but few people concentrate on pop culture, the DNA of who we are, and we export that through our satellite dishes and DVDs and on the television screen and on films across the world. If we don’t alter that DNA, if we don’t try to inject into it our best qualities and not our worst qualities, our fate is in the hands of people who don’t agree with us. We have to take them on using their skills.

"The secondary objective of the site is to create cover for those who exist in Hollywood now who are conservative or libertarian or consider themselves Lieberman Democrats or JFK liberals or anyone who dissents from the boutique liberalism that seems intent on squashing any kind of dissent….We want to provide protection from the bullies out here who are rarely punished for their bad behavior. We want conservatives and non-liberals in Hollywood to come out and express their point of view as freely as Sean Penn. They’ll also be able to represent their point of view in the product they make so that movies and TV will show that there are two parties, two basic philosophies, and there needs to be some representation in the arts from the other."

Luke: "Is this the big project your soul has been yearning for?"

Andrew: "Good question."

"The last time I was interviewed by you was for the book Hollywood, Interrupted, which I wrote with Mark Ebner. It was an emotional reaction to Hollywood’s lack of participation in the war effort… The people who were benefitting the most from this country refused to take even a neutral stand with regard to defending this country… History will show that many celebrities were at the forefront of building an anti-war movement. and fomenting anti-Americanism abroad… I have had countless people tell me that they don’t agree [with the reigning leftist ideology in Hollywood] but they need cover to represent themselves. That they need to make enough money to send their kids through college to feel comfortable to speak out against a Sean Penn. How crazy is it that Sean Penn feels so comfortable going to Cuba and Venezeula and Iraq before that and he knows when he gets back from those trips and knows that the powers that be in Hollywood have no problem with that.

"When a Hollywood conservative supports the president of the United States in a time of war is fearful he won’t have a job on Monday when he comes home because the establishment media will expose him, mock him, and if he was an A-list star, turn him into a C-list star. The Frank Riches of the world are so brilliant at a turn of phrase. He did it with Ron Silver, who was his favorite actor. He wanted him to help a Broadway renewal campaign in the 1990s when he was a good liberal. Later in a column, after Silver addressed the Republican convention in 2004, he described him as a D-list actor. It’s that simple turn of phrase in the New York Times or any other liberal publication where you can take a person for whom their reputation is everything and you can diminish it overnight. It’s the same thing that gay activists did for people who supported Prop 8. It’s done writ large every day here. When people find out that someone is on the other team, the whisper campaign and emails go back and forth and people say, ‘That person is dead to me.’ The town is a social town. People choose to work with people they feel comfortable. If people feel comfortable saying on a set that George Bush is Hitler, that means that somebody who voted for him is a Nazi and who wants to work with a Nazi?

"I don’t call it a specific blacklist. It’s not written down. I don’t think there’s a Red Channels out there. It does not need to be. The system is so entrenched, people are so intimidated into silence, there is no need for a blacklist."

Luke: "Most conservative intellectuals think pop culture as below them?"

Andrew: "That’s right. That’s where I come in. I’m not an intellectual."

Thanks to the glories of growing up with pay cable, Andrew says he’s had the opportunity to see Susan Sarandon naked as often as her husband Tim Robbins.

Andrew: "I had a friend come out to Los Angeles to appear on the Bill Mahr show two years ago. He told me that Tim Robbins was going to be on the panel with him along with Paula Poundstone. This is a guy who appears on Meet the Press. He writes for a conservative publication but is featured on CNN all the time and is really considered a straight reporter. He wrote a book saying that Saddam Hussein had a relationship with Al Qaeda.

"I told him it was not like going into the green room at NBC in D.C. and running into Madeline Albright or Barney Frank, people with whom you have political disagreements. People out here in Hollywood are vicious. They will not treat you with dignity. They will not give you the benefit of the doubt. He said, that’s crazy.

"We went into the green room. It’s a tiny room. And the whole time, Tim and Susan sat with their backs to us.

"It’s not like it is in Washington D.C. where you’re in the less cool group. You’re kinda the nerd on campus. That’s what conservatives are. You are the pariah here. He couldn’t believe it until he witnessed it."

"I don’t take venture capital money. The hard part is trying to do the website with limited resources. I’m not as technically competent as one would think. I rely on other people to do this stuff for me, to make my ideas come true."

From the Weekly Standard, Stephen F. Hayes writes:

On Tuesday, Andrew Breitbart, friend to many here at TWS, launches "Big Hollywood," a website of culture and politics which has "changing Hollywood" as its modest goal.

Breitbart, who helped establish the Drudge Report and the Huffington Post, has discarded more good ideas than most of us have had. (One idea that does not fall into that category was his plan for huskymalemodels.com, a website featuring photos of men whose high-school-era good looks had been compromised by a steady diet of beer and wing in the years since. While there would have been no shortage of "models," I’m not sure that one would have generated much traffic). With Big Hollywood he hopes to engage conservatives and libertarians in the bi-coastal ideas war he has been fighting for years. As Breitbart puts it: "Until conservatives, libertarians and Republicans – who will be the lion’s share of Big Hollywood’s contributors – recognize that (pop) culture is the big prize and that politics is secondary, there will be no victory in this important battle."

Breitbart lifts the veil on the project in his column today over at The Washington Times. Starting tomorrow, you can access the site here.

Understanding Persians

Joe emails: Luke,

If you want to understand Persians and their insatiable appetite for gaudy displays of wealth and absolute lack of good taste, read this article — about a non-Jewish Iranian, although the mentality is the same.

Pro-Israel rally outside the Los Angeles Federal building in Westwood – Jan. 7, 2008

A woman of Israel writes: "Now I know who pushed me in the Israel and made me drop my sign… likes the limelight. Nothing will be stand in her way to a camera. Yesterday I was pushed rudely by her. I lost my balance and dropped my sign. She did not give me the time of day to apologize or to help me gain my composure. She stared at me with cold fish eye and went on introducing herself to the reporter. It occurred in a quiet area away from the crowd. I didn’t have the present of mind to call over a policeman… Watch out pushy bitxh. I am putting you on notice: The next time you are making yourself a career on the back of Israeli civilians under attack and/or on the back of protesters, I will not be caught by surprise and I’ll smack you back!!!"

JewishJournal.com’s Brad A. Greenberg reports of this youthful, high-energy rally. There was no opposing side present to counter the rally. For more information, visit JewishJournal.com. Video by Jay Firestone and Brad Greenberg.

Women Should Think Twice Before Saying No To Their Husbands

Dennis Prager writes for Townhall.com:

If most women wait until they are in the mood before making love with their husband, many women will be waiting a month or more until they next have sex. When most women are young, and for some older women, spontaneously getting in the mood to have sex with the man they love can easily occur. But for most women, for myriad reasons — female nature, childhood trauma, not feeling sexy, being preoccupied with some problem, fatigue after a day with the children and/or other work, just not being interested — there is little comparable to a man’s “out of nowhere,” and seemingly constant, desire for sex.

2. Why would a loving, wise woman allow mood to determine whether or not she will give her husband one of the most important expressions of love she can show him? What else in life, of such significance, do we allow to be governed by mood?

What if your husband woke up one day and announced that he was not in the mood to go to work? If this happened a few times a year, any wife would have sympathy for her hardworking husband. But what if this happened as often as many wives announce that they are not in the mood to have sex? Most women would gradually stop respecting and therefore eventually stop loving such a man.

What woman would love a man who was so governed by feelings and moods that he allowed them to determine whether he would do something as important as go to work? Why do we assume that it is terribly irresponsible for a man to refuse to go to work because he is not in the mood, but a woman can — indeed, ought to — refuse sex because she is not in the mood? Why?

This brings us to the next reasons.

3. The baby boom generation elevated feelings to a status higher than codes of behavior. In determining how one ought to act, feelings, not some code higher than one’s feelings, became decisive: “No shoulds, no oughts.” In the case of sex, therefore, the only right time for a wife to have sex with her husband is when she feels like having it. She never “should” have it. But marriage and life are filled with “shoulds.” Continued…

Here is a response to Prager’s first column on this topic from Megan at Jezebel.com:

Conservative pundit and marital rape apologist Dennis Prager has some advice for you ladies with faltering marriages: don’t think that just because you don’t want to have sex your husband shouldn’t try to fuck you.

Like Tucker Carlson before him, Prager thinks the key to a successful marriage is just doing it even when you don’t want to. In Prager’s case, he means "whenever your husband wants," regardless of your "mood," which shouldn’t matter. Of course, you could be in that mood because your husband is a liar and a cheat, or because he’s just driven your family into debt or hit you (not too hard, of course, but things happen), but as long as he wants to…, well, you should suck it up and submit.

According to Prager, women just don’t understand that men view your willingness to "submit" to his penetration of your body as the way that you show love.

First, women need to recognize how a man understands a wifes refusal to have sex with him: A husband knows that his wife loves him first and foremost by her willingness to give her body to him. This is rarely the case for women. Few women know their husband loves them because he gives her his body (the idea sounds almost funny). This is, therefore, usually a revelation to a woman. Many women think mens natures are similar to theirs, and this is so different from a womans nature, that few women know this about men unless told about it.

I mean, of course women don’t desire sex for the sake of, you know, "pleasure" (and certainly not in Dennis Prager’s house), so it’s obviously all about love. Deep, deep love, which your husband returns so deeply…

Jeff Fecke wrote Dec. 23, 2008:

Remember Dennis Prager? Sure you do! He’s the guy who told women that they really want is to stay home and keep the house nice for their husbands. Prager’s only 0-for-2 on marriage, so clearly he has his finger on the pulse of what makes marriages work. And this week, ladies, he’s looking at you, and what you’re not doing to keep your man happy.

I’ll give you a hint: it’s about sex. But first, grandiosity:

Given our preoccupation with politics and economics, it is easy to forget that for most of us micro issues still play a greater role in our lives. So here are some thoughts that, as heretical as they might sound, have been found extremely helpful, sometimes even marriage-saving, from listeners to my radio show, which features a male-female hour every week.

Awesome! Because the marriage that Dennis Prager can save is worth saving, right?

The subject is one of the most common problems that besets marriages: the wife who is not in the mood and the consequently frustrated and hurt husband.

Now, this is going to happen from time to time. One partner’s gonna be in the mood, the other won’t be. The solution that most of us who’ve been in relationships have settled on is to wait until tomorrow, and check again. Now, if our partner is never in the mood, that may be a problem, but it’s usually a sign of a deeper problem in the relationship.

Oh, and it’s not always husbands in the mood and wives who aren’t, but Dennis will hand-wave that away.

There are marriages with the opposite problem — a wife who is frustrated and hurt because her husband is rarely in the mood. But, as important and as destructive as that problem is, it has different causes and different solutions, and is therefore not addressed here. What is addressed is the far more common problem of He [sic] wants, she doesnt want.

On Jan. 7, Dennis hosted Megan Carpenter and Jeff Fecke on his show.

Dennis: "I was accused by various sites, all on the ideological left, of advocating marital rape… I can usually predict how my words can be distorted…but I was wrong [in this case]. The lying about what I said, putting words I never said in quotes as if I said them, was unanticipated. This was a new low for critiques of my work.

"I decided to have these people on my show because I am curious how their minds work, how they morally can live with themselves after lying about what I write."

"I write that if you love your husband, you will have a better marriage if you don’t regularly deny him sex…. How do you justify your charge that I advocate marital left?"

Megan: "The problem with many of us on the Left by advocating that a woman have marital relations…that she should do it whether or not she is in the mood. Rape is defined as a man having sex with an unwilling woman. That unwilling woman should have sex with their husbands."

Megan: "If we’re striving for clarity, I would define a woman who is not in the mood as a woman who is not willing to have sex."

Jeff: "Your two columns boil down to, though women have the right to say no, she should expect her marriage to fall apart… If you say no too many times, your marriage will fall apart. Therefore, even if you do not want to have sex tonight…"

Dennis: "In most marriages, will a woman’s constantly saying no to sexual overtures of her husband, if he is a good man who she loves, will that have disasterous impact on most marriages?"

"If you can’t define whether your husband is a good man, you have a serious marital problem."

"Why saying that is tantamount to advocating marital rape? Both of you have raped the word rape, you have cheapened what is an evil act, you have made it laughable, you have hurt the cause of combatting rape by your hysteria."

Jeff: "Hysteria is an interesting word to choose."

Dennis: "Because it comes from hysterectomy and is related to females?"

Jeff: "Precisely."

Dennis: "That is a brilliant insight."

"Do you feel it was overkill to say I advocated marital rape?"

No, they don’t.

Megan says there aren’t significant differences between men and women regarding sex.

Stacy posts on Jezebel: I’m not sure what Dennis’s issue is. If he gives his wife enough Jigsaw Magnesium she should be up all night because she doesn’t need as much sleep.

Dennis: "I won’t tell you some of the names I am called on these blogs because I can’t say these words on the radio."

The same type of raunchy talk occurs on blogs Prager praises, including Little Green Footballs. Yet Prager never mentions that when he praises such sites.

Dennis says that male sexual nature is closer to the animal than female sexual nature.

Jeff: "I can’t think of anything more anti-male than that statement."
