The Young and the Restless Orthodox Girls

My twenty-something friends Jezebel and Annie got doled up Saturday night and went to the Skybar on Sunset Blvd.

The homey chicks in jeans in front of them got rejected but my friends got in where they were immediately grabbed by these lawyers from Tijuana who bought them alcohol.

The Mexicans were ugly so my friends moved on to these hot Aussies who wanted to know where they could buy blow.

Because my friends are Orthodox, they didn’t know what blow was until one Aussie plugged one nostril and imitated snorting with the other.

My friends went back to the Aussie’s hotel room. Because Jezebel is Orthodox, she wouldn’t get involved with the 45-year old guy with a wedding band. Because Annie is Orthodox, she would only make out with her hot Aussie. No further!

It was a real kiddish HaShem.

Annie’s on-again, off-again boyfriend had growing anxiety throughout the evening. He kept texting her about his feelings but she did not respond.

He finally grew so upset that he changed his status on Facebook to single and began emailing her photos of himself in his underwear.

That taught the bitch a lesson she won’t soon forget.

What Hamas Is Doing To Southern Israel Will Inflame Jews

It is unpredictable how Jews in the United States will react to these rocket attacks and non-Jews should be on guard against angry rioting Jews.

Can you imagine such a thing?

Or the pope announces that non-Christians should beware because Christians are upset about something and are liable to go on a rampage.

It’s inconceivable, Dennis Prager noted on his radio show Jan. 12.

Yet the Muslim council of the United Kingdom announced that Muslims are upset over what Israel is doing in Gaza and it is unpredictable how they will react.

If a non-Muslim said that, he’d be considered an Islamophobe.

So Muslims can act out against British citizens, meaning kill them, because of what is happening in the Middle East.

Therefore, Britain should do what? Stop Israel from undoing the rocket stations in Gaza? Because British Muslims may get angry and kill Brits?

Can you imagine the Jewish council of the United Kingdom saying that because of terror in Israel, Jews may act out? It is unimaginable.

And these things are taken as normative, even prescriptive. Therefore, we better pressure Israel.

Prager talked about attacks on attacks on several Jewish institutions that weekend. Graffiti such as "Death to Israel" was scrawled. Junk had been thrown into a synagogue, breaking glass.

This does not happen in the opposite direction. "Whenever there’s an Islamic terror attack, we’re told to be on alert for Islamophobia. But that’s not who gets hurt. Whenever there’s Islamic terror, it’s non-Muslims who get hurt. It’s the upside down world the Left has created."

Dennis: "There will be fewer medications approved for diseases in the Obama administration than any administration in modern history thanks to Sidney Wolfe and the other hypochondriacs who’ve been appointed to the FDA."

Alicia Mundy writes for the WSJ:

he pharmaceutical industry has a recurring nightmare: Drug-safety crusader Sidney Wolfe becomes a player at the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Wolfe also has a nightmare: One of his children goes to work for a drug maker.

Of the two, the doctor is sleeping more soundly.

Over three decades, Dr. Wolfe, head of the health group at advocacy organization Public Citizen that Ralph Nader founded, has helped push 16 drugs off the market and slap restrictions on several multibillion-dollar products. He has been so hostile to the FDA under President George W. Bush that he decried its 100th-anniversary celebration in 2006 as a "propaganda campaign" to hide its "unprecedented assault on the American public."

Now the outsider is going inside, mirroring a larger shift in the Washington pendulum toward tougher company regulation. To the consternation of the drug industry, Dr. Wolfe has been appointed to a four-year term on the FDA’s Drug Safety and Risk Management Committee, which plays a key role in telling the agency which drugs are safe.

Dennis: "It is very scary when you appoint people to approve drugs who think that drug companies are thugs. It is a good emotional position that people on the Left have from birth. It is fed to them that corporations are bad, especially corporations that make a lot of money. Since I don’t know any medicines not developed by these big bad companies, and since almost everyone I know has been saved my medicine, I don’t think we should be adamant about not approving drugs. If aspirin had to be approved under Sidney Wolfe, it probably would not have been approved."

"If Obama keeps up [with his pragmatic foreign policy direction], he might be able to do something very important for America — expunge the radical Left from liberalism."

"Peace in the Middle East is a dream that liberal have. Conservatives have a more realistic vision of the human capacity for delusion and evil… If Barack can find peace where everyone before him has failed, then more power to him. I’m not sanguine.

"If Hamas were to say, we recognize the right of Jews to have the state of Israel, then you no longer have a reason for Hamas. Hamas’s distinctive vision is to destroy Israel."

I’m Checking Myself Out

Guru Singh wants us to look at ourselves in the mirror every day for three minutes. We’re supposed to check ourselves out without wanting anything to be different.

I’m a busy man. I don’t have three minutes to look at myself without wanting anything to be different. So I just do this exercise for a minute a day.

I have now done it for two days in a row.

With such spiritual discipline, I’m practically a guru myself.

Besnainou says various items have been assembled to tempt the tastes and open the wallets of representatives of member businesses, which in just one year number approximately 500. The organization has 900 names on its mailing list, according to Besnainou, who came to San Diego about 2 1/2 years ago to work for Merrill Lynch.

The Very Best Of Sheryl Crow

I used to say that my musical tastes stopped developing after 1986. That I did not care for contemporary popular music.

Then I had a beautiful girlfriend who told me to give Sheryl Crow a chance.

Four years after the suggestion, I did, buying the CD "The Very Best of Sheryl Crow."

I now listen to it almost every evening when I want to fall asleep.

I try listening to other music to sleep on, particularly classical and Jewish, but it just does not have the same soporific effect.

Sheryl Crow makes me happy and puts me to sleep.

I’m gonna soak up the sun
Gonna tell everyone
To lighten up (I’m gonna tell ’em that)
I’ve got no one to blame
For every time I feel lame
I’m looking up o I’m gonna soak up the sun
I’m gonna soak up the sun
I’ve got a crummy job
It don’t pay near enough
To buy the things it takes
To win me some of your love
Every time I turn around
I’m looking up, you’re looking down
Maybe something’s wrong with you
That makes you act the way you do
Maybe i am crazy too

I guess you can learn to love again.

I’m Not A Cowboys Fan Anymore

They were the favorites to win the Super Bowl through the first three games of this season.

They were the most talented team in the league.

They self-destructed and did not even make the playoffs.

The quarterback has a poor work ethic. He’s sloppy with the ball. The team has no leadership and no discipline. They’re just a big disappointment.

As I watched them lose 44-6 to the Philadelphia Eagles, I gave up on them. I walked away. They’re like a girl who was once special to me but now, oy.

Cedric Golden writes:

Tony Romo is saying all the right things these days.

Amid a flurry of criticism in the month since the Dallas Cowboys’ humbling in Philadelphia, the quarterback is promising to rededicate himself to his craft and take a more active leadership role in the locker room.

Therein lies the problem.

Romo’s not a leader. Never has been. Never will be.

In the NFL, you’re judged on your actions, not your words, and Romo’s actions the last two seasons suggest he isn’t the type capable of putting a team on his back and carrying it to a Super Bowl.

Leaders don’t develop. They are born. It’s something in the DNA. You either have it, or you don’t. After showing little interest in leadership his first couple of seasons, Romo is talking about becoming a better leader now.

What If Sanskrit Prayers Are The Most Powerful?

I prayed to Jesus Christ for about 20 years and it did jack for me. I was still a virgin. The Dallas Cowboys did not win a superbowl after 1978 until 1992. I was alone. I was deformed morally and psychologically.

So for the last 20 years, I’ve been praying in Hebrew as Judaism instructs.

Frankly, it’s done jack for me. I only ever pray in places where people don’t want me and sooner rather than later, they boot me. I’m not married. I have no kids, no mortgage and no 401K. I’m deformed morally and psychologically.

And the Cowboys have not won a playoff game in 12 years.

My Jewish prayers have been every bit as effective as the prayers of the six million Jews who were sent up chimneys during the Holocaust. God seems to care about me as much as the victims of Auschwitz.

So for the past few weeks, I’ve started praying in Sanskrit. I’ve been trying to give Wahe Guru my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and other ailments (ain’t enough pixels in the universe to list them all).

According to Wikipedia: "It is the term most often used in Sikhism to refer to God, the Supreme Being or the creator of all."

So I’m still praying to the same God, whether I use English, Hebrew or Sanskrit.

It just seems to me that one of these languages pierces the divine realms and the others don’t do jack for me.

Look, yoga makes no sense to me. I’m only doing it because what I do normally ain’t working and tens of thousands of hot chix in spandex can’t be wrong.

A couple of weeks ago, I was listening to this Guru Singh bloke. I don’t get the hubbub. I bet he’s a closet commie. But I don’t care about the truth of his teachings so long as they fill the room with gorgeous women (who generally prefer clueless Oprah-style spiritual crap rather than the morally demanding God of Mt. Sinai).

And that night, I was lying on my yoga mat next to a beautiful female stranger who could touch her toes and do the splits and other things that I can’t mention on this family-friendly website. And without even talking to her, she quickly got the vibe from me (she said a couple of days later) that I had a strong sexual energy.

I’ve been praying in churches and shuls for 40 years and ain’t no one told me that my prayers exuded a strong sexual energy.

So I’m giving yoga a chance.

So when my yoga teacher tells me to do meditations with my hands and fingers in weird positions chanting Sankskrit, it makes no sense to me. Sorta like chicks who say they have a crush on me and then don’t return my calls.

I think of myself as a pretty rational bloke. I don’t care about the politics of chix I date ‘coz it don’t matter so long as they’re hot, and, frankly, I’ve never dated any woman who’s read one-fifth of the political philosophy I’ve digested, so why should I care about the views of the ignorant as long as they have nice breasts and smooth shaven legs smelling of tropical fruits?

Despite having a mind that summons up such blinding clarity that I singlehandedly serve as a light unto the nations in matters of love and reason, I’m ashamed to admit that I do the following daily — because my hot yoga teacher with the posh British accent tells me to:

Yogi Bhajan has told us that the years between now and 2012, when the Age of Aquarius has set in, will place many people in a state of confusion & emptiness, due to the change of the times. He let us know that many people will hit the stage of “Cold Depression” – becoming frozen and unable to move, do, engage. This ‘epidemic’ will increase as we near the dawning of the Aquarian Age.
This meditation will help you to find the pockets of internal conflict, open them up, and transform this stored energy into ecstasy & intuition.
Position: Sit with a straight spine. Interlace the hands in Venus lock in front of the chest,
with the Jupiter fingers (index) pointed straight up.
Eyes: Closed.
Mantra: Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Wahe Jeeo. (This mantra is on all
sadhana CD’s and the version by Sangeet Kaur was used during class).
Focus: On “Wah” chant from the navel.
On “Hey” chant from the heart
On “Guru / Jeeo” chant from the lips.
Time: 11 minutes.
End: Inhale deeply, hold, and concentrate on the sound at the navel, heart & lips.
Exhale. Inhale a 2nd time, and hold, giving your cold depression to “Wahe Guru.” On the 3rd inhale, hold and give your life to God, and let it merge with the Universal Force. Comments: Take the curse off and place it around God’s neck. Free yourself. Purify yourself and be free.

PS. I still say my Jewish prayers. I believe the primarily purpose of prayer is to affect us morally, not to get us stuff.

‘You’re A Powerful Man’

I chatted with a friend over Shabbos.

Out of the blue, she said, "You’re a powerful man in this community. People fear you."

"Good," I said.

Why Be Good?

In the summer of 1995, I wrote Dennis Prager a letter (15 months earlier, I moved to Los Angeles to work for him, the job fell through) asking for his permission to develop his ideas on how to be a good person into a book.

His assistant wrote back asking me to hold off.

Instead of writing a book on goodness, I decided instead to write a history of porn.

It was only logical.

I sometimes ask myself how would my life have been different if I had made a different choice for my first book.

Dennis Prager devoted a recent radio show to the question of why do people do good. "Even if you are not consumed with how can you be a good person, you are consumed with how can everyone in your life be a good person so you get treated better."

"Everybody cares that there be more good people. They may not be one of them…

"If I wrote a book, ‘Ten Ways To Be A Good Person’, do you think it would sell well? And it was brilliant, innovative, and clear. As opposed to ‘Ten Ways To Be Rich’ or ‘Ten Ways To Be Happy.’"

Dennis, I really really wanted to help you write such a book. You didn’t give me the chance.

It’s too bad.

I don’t think you have to be a particularly good person to assist with writing a book on how to be good. I’m not a particularly good person but I’m pretty sensitive to issues of goodness even when I don’t live up to my own ideals.
