Ashley Alexandra Dupre Dressed Like A Cheerleader For Threesomes With Charlie Sheen

From showbizspy.com:

Ashley Alexandra Dupre has earned $200,000 from online music downloads.

Dupre made two of her tunes, What We Want and Move Ya Body, for sale as 99-cent downloads on music website Amie Street this week. Artists make 70% of sales, says the site’s co-founder Joshua Boltuch.

What We Want played on national radio station Z100 Thursday. "It’s not a bad song," said Tom Poleman, senior vice president for programming at the station. "Looks like she may have a new career, this time in music."

Director/music producer Jonathan Ehlers helped Dupre? cut her first demo in 2004. "She was great to work with," he said, adding she could make it in the music business if "she were to continue to perfect her craft. She definitely has the drive for it and the personality."

Showbizspy reports:

Ashley Alexandra Dupre partied and did drugs just before getting outed as Eliot Spitzer’s hooker.

On her MySpace page, Dupre claimed she had quit drugs. Her friends say this is a lie.

"Yes, I have seen her do cocaine," said one of her friends, who asked to remain anonymous. "It was actually really hard to talk to her during the night because she was . . . on coke."

"I’d watch her go through multiple bags [of cocaine] in a single evening," another friend who met Dupre at a nightclub tells the New York Daily News. ?She?d lock herself in a stall in the bathroom and snort away.?

Alexandra tattooed herself with reminders not to do drugs.

She became a hooker at the age of 19 when she met Jason Itzler, the self-proclaimed ?King of All Pimps.?

Ashley partied at New York’s most exclusive clubs. She was usually with wealthy men.

?When I met her, [Ashley] seemed like a very determined girl, but I think she wanted to be a woman too fast,? said Christopher Malta, who once worked with Dupre at the Chelsea club Viscaya. ?She was in the city and seeing everything that was going on, and she wanted a piece of it.?

According to ShowBizSpy:

Ashley dressed as a cheerleader during threesomes with actor Charlie Sheen.

At 19, she went with another prostitute named Cherl to play games with Charlie Sheen. He paid $20,000.

Former pimp Jason Itzler says Dupre worked for him under the name ?Victoria? years.

Jason says Sheen got the girls to dress up as cheerleaders – and chant his name while performing sex acts. ?They loved Charlie,? Itzer has previously said. ?They said he was a great guy, a great lover.

?One time, he had them dress up like cheerleaders and they chanted, ?Charlie, Charlie, he?s our man! If he can?t do it, nobody can!?

Itzler says Sheen liked to pretend to be an X-rated movie director and asked the two women to act out various lesbian scenarios for him.

Sheen, who has a history with hookers, denied the story when it first hit U.S. newspapers two years ago, before Dupre?s notoriety.

About Dupre, Itzler says: ?This was probably the sexiest, hottest girl I had. She?s no joke. She?s an awesome, awesome, super-cool girl.?

Itzler’s high-class prostitution ring NY Confidential was busted while Eliot Spitzer was New York state attorney general.

?How funny it is – what goes around does come around,? Itzler said. ?I?m the king of all pimps. He was the king of hypocrites.?

Itzler met Dupre in New York?s Gansevoort Hotel. He gave her his card.

She called him two days later after visiting the NY Confidential Web site.

He recalled: ?She says, ?Hey, Jason ? I want to work for you.? ?When I caught my breath, I said, ?Do you know what I do?? ?She?s like, ?Yeah.? I said, ?Get over here.? ?

He named the Jersey-girl-turned-call-girl ?Victoria,? and she quickly became a favorite of the Confidential clientele – four years before she became $4,300 hooker ?Kristen? and torpedoed Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

Itzler, 41, claimed Dupre? attracted a large and grateful clientele – and soon started earning tens of thousands of dollars a month. After her first date, Itzler claimed, he rewarded her with a $2,000 pair of Manolo Blahniks – the favored footwear of Sarah Jessica Parker?s character on ?Sex and The City?. ?I used to get e-mails saying, ?Now I can die happy,?? Itzler said of Dupre.

Itzler says she was a workaholic who was on the job six days a week and was often called for repeat business. ?She thrived on it, like a fish in water,? he said. ?Almost like an actor on stage on Broadway. Alive, you know?? Itzler was jailed in 2006 after pleading guilty to running the $25,000-a-night prostitution ring. He was released early last year.

MTV.com reports that top New York radio station Z100 quickly yanked her song from rotation.

"Z100 is all about playing what’s hot, and we can’t think of anything hotter than a song from the woman at the center of the scandal that took down the governor of New York," Tom Poleman, senior vice president of programming at the New Jersey-based radio station, said in a statement released Thursday. "On top of that, it’s not a bad song. Looks like she may have a new career; this time in music."

"Listener response has not been great, so we are pulling back and just offering [the song] to listeners via Z100.com," on-air jock JJ told MTV News in an e-mail message Friday (March 14), though the track was still heard on the station later that day.

Come Home

D. emails: “Greeting Happy Sabbath, I don’t know you, never heard of you until today while doing research on the internet. I was looking up info regarding the SDA church and what happened in the 70’s and 80’s. The name Desmond Ford kept coming up. I’ve heard the name and had just some vague info about him. While researching today I see that he is your father. You are a PK (preacher’s kid). I’ve seen this happen over and over again with pastors kids. I am a 3rd generation SDA, I left the church and now I am back. It’s great to be back home. Believe me the church is full of hypocrites and is worst now than when I left. But one thing for sure it is Gods remnant church. Luke, Jesus is soon to come. Just look around. It might appear that you are successful in man’s eye. But what about God’s? Will you be ready when he comes?”

Drunk Driving Shocker At Shalhevet

A couple of the leading lights at Shalhevet wanted to do something dramatic to shock the kids into not drinking to excess on Purim, which begins Thursday night. So they went around the classrooms of the high school and said, "Two of your classmates have died because of drunk drivers."

Some of the kids broke into tears. Eventually they were reassured that none of their classmates were dead, it was just a pedagogical technique.

Is A Reputation For Giving Blowjobs Enough To Keep A Girl Out Of YULA?

Yes. With few exceptions, no Orthodox day school wants students with a risque reputation even if their parents are rich and the kid has a great academic record. A girl thrown out of one yeshiva for fooling around will have a hard time finding another one to take her in.

Other reasons why a smart kid is held out of yeshiva is if the kid or parents are troublemakers or not observant of Jewish law.

Eliot Spitzer’s Jewish Identity

From the Forward:

In the last statewide public opinion poll taken before news broke of Eliot Spitzer’s involvement in a high-priced prostitution ring, the New York governor’s approval rating was below 50% for every major demographic group, except one: his fellow Jews.

For much of his career, Spitzer was a source of great pride to Jews, with some supporters referring to him as having the potential to become the first Jewish president. In the blogosphere, that closeness was portrayed as simple ethnic pride; when the scandal broke, the Web site Gawker proclaimed it a “Shanda fur die Goyim.”

And yet, while Spitzer may have been of the Jews, in many ways he did not come across as particularly Jewish. He never projected the folksy charm of Joe Lieberman, not to mention the Connecticut senator’s religious observance. Nor did the former governor seem as comfortable among Jews as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg — who, like Spitzer, moves in well-heeled circles and is not religiously observant. Even Mario Cuomo, the long-serving Italian American governor of New York, projected an ethnic credibility that was almost more overtly Jewish than Spitzer’s persona.

“He was more WASP than he was Jew,” said Hank Sheinkopf, a Democratic political consultant who worked on several of Spitzer’s campaigns. “He was much more comfortable in Princeton than in an Orthodox synagogue.”

So why, then, was he embraced as a favorite Jewish son? According to some observers, the hopes invested by Jews in Spitzer, and the corresponding heartbreak over his fall, point to a far deeper and more complicated bond than simple ethnic solidarity. Spitzer was caught by the push and pull of two strains of Jewish politics. On the one hand, he seemed uncomfortable with the clannishness of retail Jewish politicking and appears not to have felt a part of that clan at all. But he also embodied the streak of reform-minded liberalism that has been the backbone of Jewish politics for more than a century. Despite his privileged background, he kept an outsider’s zeal for purging corruption from the political system. Though some Jews were alienated by his refusal to offer them special attention, far more were attracted by that same rectitude. Spitzer’s high-mindedness held the loyalty of Jewish voters even when the rest of his support had abandoned him.

Israeli Angle In Spitzer Scandal

Let’s keep it real — there are a disproportionate number of secular Jews in the sex industry.

Ron Kampeas writes for JTA:

A fast-rising Democratic governor, an out-of-control sex drive and an Israeli enabler — it feels like deja vu all over again on the Hudson.

Just four years after the then-governor of New Jersey, James McGreevey, resigned amid revelations of an affair with his Israeli-born ex-homeland security chief, Golan Cipel, Americans again were treated to the spectacle of the governor of a large Northeastern state standing alongside a grim-looking wife and admitting he had erred.

Mark Brener, the alleged pimp at the center of the prostitution scandal engulfing Spitzer, is an Israeli.

Spitzer, a Jewish lawyer, built his career as an anti-crime, anti-corruption crusader. Most of his cases were high-profile Wall Street targets, but during his eight-year stint as state attorney general, Spitzer’s office also investigated at least two Jewish organizations, the National Council of Young Israel and the World Jewish Congress.

In both cases, Spitzer’s office found what it deemed examples of misused funds and reached an agreement limiting the future involvement of a longtime leader of the organization in question.

Of the four charged in the federal prostitution case brought last week, only Brener was denied bail. U.S. Magistrate Michael Dolinger cited the $600,000 in cash and the Israeli passport found in Brener’s home as proof of his flight risk.

Brener’s lawyer told the Associated Press that he has been a U.S. citizen for 20 years.

Brener allegedly ran the Emperors VIP Club, described by police as a high-priced prostitution ring in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and London. Clients rated the prostitutes with diamonds on the club’s Web site. Top-rated prostitutes could demand thousands, with the club taking more than 50 percent in commission fees.

In the case described in the warrant involving "Client 9" — reported by The New York Times to be Spitzer — the client requested a prostitute on Feb. 12. He was in Washington at a hotel; the service would send a prostitute down from New York.

Client 9’s account was low on cash — down to about $400, according to wiretaps cited in the warrant — suggesting that he had used the service before. He would pay an additional $2,600 for his time with "Kristen," an amount that apparently included her train fare and travel time, and give her some extra cash toward the next encounter.

According to the warrant, they met at the hotel the next night, Feb. 13. Sometime after midnight — in the first minutes of Valentine’s Day — Kristen called Temeka Rachelle Lewis, Brener’s alleged co-conspirator, to tell her the encounter had gone "very well."

Republicans already are calling on Spitzer, once touted as presidential material, to resign. Whether he does so depends on what Democrats say and whether he is charged in the case.

Two Republican U.S. senators recently embroiled in sex scandals have not resigned. David Vitter of Louisiana allegedly frequented a prostitute but was never charged. Larry Craig of Idaho pleaded guilty last year to soliciting gay sex in a bathroom but is now trying to reverse the plea.

McGreevey did resign and wrote a book about his experiences, aimed partly at encouraging other gays to come out. Cipel still denies that he is gay or that he was McGreevey’s lover; he claims the governor harassed him.

Bnai David-Judea Is Where The Women Are – And Some Of Them May Be Eager To Meet You

More attractive young single women go to Bnai David-Judea and the Happy Minyan than any other synagogue in zip code 90035 (Pico/Robertson). While Beth Jacob, Mogen David and Young Israel of Century City are deserts, Bnai David is a dessert with a thriving program for youngies called "chaverim". Check out the learning sessions for prayer and Talmud if you want to connect.

YICC and Beth Jacob have Young Professionals minyans on Shabbos morning but these don’t get many single females.

Aish Ha Torah is great at outreach and gets some singles.

I don’t know why Beth Jacob is not succeeding with singles. They have a young charismatic rabbi and a bunch of young couples.

Chabad has single young women but they marry quickly and only to hardcore Chabad guys.

JConnectLA throws the best singles events for Los Angeles Orthodox Jews.

Sinai Temple’s ATID program throws great events for the less observant.

Beth Am attracts much of the American Jewish University crowd, including many singles (particularly at the Shlomo-Carlebach-style Neshama minyan Friday evenings).

Pico Joe emails: "Whatever happened to that website ShiksasAreForPractice? Even without a web site, this city is in need of an arangement like that where any jew can be on a list and then fool around with another jew on the list. That will help everyone stay in the faith. I’m sure many will sign up for it if it’s legit. Luke can you try to arrange such a thing for the Pico Robertson Hood, it will make you the hero. Get some female you know to launch it. Your name won’t be attached. You will only be getting the benefits of getting laid all the time. Nothing less, nothing more."

Can’t see the rabbis going for it. I couldn’t go for it either. I’m not innocent, but I couldn’t endorse a program for fooling around. The point is to get married. No sex outside of marriage can be holy.

L.A. Herald Examiner Almost 20 Year Reunion

Here’s video of the whole program. Daily News Photos

Stills: Jim Bellows Jim Bellows Andrea Raymond Joe Morgenstern, WSJ film critic Alex Ben Block Mary Ann Dolan, Jim Bellows Mary Ann Dolan, Jim Bellows Bobby Shriver, Alex Ben Block Jim Bellows Jim Bellows Jim Bellows Jim Bellows Linda Breakstone Linda Breakstone Linda Breakstone Who? Peter Rainer who? who? Mary Ann Dolan, Jim Bellows Mary Ann Dolan, Jim Bellows Joe Morgenstern who? who?

During the 90-minute shmoozing time, I felt completely lost without Cathy Seipp. I’d always attended these things with her and she’d introduce me around and help smooth over my rough edges.

If she wasn’t there, she’d tell me to give her a detailed write-up of all the horrible things I said.

Now what’s the point?

There may be people who loved Cathy more than I did but there’s no man who feels more utterly bereft.

I sat in the corner and read a book (Front Page Girls: Women Journalists in American Culture and Fiction, 1880-1930 by Jean Marie Lutes) while the room filled up with people excited to see each other.

In 1905, Edwin L. Shuman wrote in his book Practical Journalism: "Repertorial work rubs the bloom off a woman much more quickly than school-teaching or employment in a business office. The paper takes all her strength, and robs her of almost all social life and of many feminine characteristics."

Well, this bloke never met the Marianne bird I met last night. She used to edit the Herald Examiner and she’s lost none of her femininity. She’s all woman and she brought Jim Bellows with her, the lucky old geezer.

After the program, I went outside and asked Ron Kaye, Editor of the L.A. Daily News, why his paper did not run Tony Castro’s news-breaking January 2007 piece that detailed how Mayor Villaraigosa was not wearing his wedding ring and was not being seen in public with his wife.

Kaye said the story was not solid enough to publish. It was fine for a blogger to publish it, but a newspaper has to be more responsible. It was not enough the mayor was not wearing his wedding ring, the paper had to be sure it meant something.

A mayor or governor or president screwing around is not automatically news to Ron Kaye. He finds it entertaining but there has to be more going on than screwing for it to become "News."

I disagree. I want to know who the mayor or president is sleeping with because that person will likely have influence.

Kevin Roderick blogs:

For last week’s reunion of Los Angeles Herald Examiner alums, organizer Alex Ben Block, columnist for Hollywood Today.net, and Josh Kleinbaum, managing editor of interactive for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, put together a slide show of old pictures from the paper. Here it is; click on the slides to see the whole thing bigger or for caption info.

If the slides don’t appear, click here. HerEx graduate John Schwada, now at Fox 11, blogs about the reunion:

The Herald-Examiner was to me what the Great Depression and WWII were to my parents (sorry, Mom and Dad, that’s probably a stretch, maybe even sacreligious). In other words, working for that newspaper produced great horrors, adventures and joys…

Let me say, without fear of contradiction, that for ten years the Herald-Examiner was an experiment in anti-journalism. It was the creation of eccentrics who loved the news and were guided by a desire to get scoops and upset the city’s sacred cows; it told stories while others pontificated; its reporters ducked under the police tape at crime scenes to find out what really happened while other papers waited for the official version.

Also: Frank Girardot blogged about the event for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Susan Christian Goulding devoted her weekly column in the Daily Breeze to her personal feelings about the reunion. And here’s a link to my KCRW commentary pegged to the evening.

Here’s the press release:

HOLLYWOOD, CA. Los Angeles Daily News Editor, Ron Kaye, former KCBS political editor, Linda Breakstone, Los Angeles Times’ “Top of the Ticket” editor, Don Frederick, and Santa Monica City Councilmember, Bobby Shriver, will join moderator and show business historian, Alex Ben Block, and a distinguished gathering of Her Ex alumni next week to discuss the paper’s lasting influence.  It is affectionately being called “A Return to Corky’s: The Ultimate Herald Examiner Almost-20th Reunion Party.”

For that evening, the Steve Allen Theater on Hollywood Boulevard will take the place of Corky’s, the notorious newspaper bar that was across the street from the Herald Examiner’s Spanish Mission-style building in downtown L.A. for many years—and served as the main watering hole and refuge for much of the staff.

"We’re going to celebrate not only a great newspaper, but a great newspaper bar," says Chris Woodyard of USA Today, who is President of the L.A. Press Club and a former Her Ex reporter. "Both are important pieces of Los Angeles history."

There will be a spirited panel discussion moderated by Block, who is an author, columnist, broadcaster and show business historian. He is former editor of The Hollywood Reporter and TelevisionWeek and an Associate Editor of Forbes, who now writes a column for Hollywood Today (HollywoodToday.net)

“This is a way to recall when L.A. had a second metropolitan newspaper, with a much brasher, bolder attitude, that once was the largest afternoon paper in the country,” says Block. “The Her Ex’s brash style in many ways better reflects the way news is delivered in the cyber world than more conservative old line papers, and so the lively spirit of the paper has lived on.”

Legendary former Her Ex editor James G. “Jim” Bellows is expected to try and attend but is in fragile health, and his participation will depend on his condition at that time. The entire event is dedicated to him, and he will be honored during the program.

It has been 19 years since the Los Angeles Herald Examiner last rolled its presses, ending a Southern California newspaper publishing legacy that dated back to 1871. Since then, former Herald Examiner editorial employees have gone on to top positions at the L.A. Times, the Daily News, television, radio, online and many other places, some now serving in the government they once covered. Now the Her Ex alumni are gathering from around the state, around the country and around the world and all over Southern California.

During the event, there will be an original multi-media presentation featuring historic pictures from the Los Angeles Public Library Collection of Herald Examiner Photos. Many of the images by Herald photographers over the years were donated to the library 19 years ago but have not been seen since. One goal of the evening will be to encourage the preservation of the more than 70,000 photos from the Herald photo collection, and to see funding provided to digitalize them for posterity, according to Block and Woodyard.

The panelists include:

·          Ron Kaye, who since August 2005 has been Editor of The Daily News of Los Angeles, after serving as managing editor since 1993. Besides the Her Ex, he has been a reporter and editor at the Associated Press, Newsweek and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

·         Linda Breakstone, who after the Her Ex, was Political Editor of KCBS-TV for eleven years, and before that on air at KABC-TV for five years.

·         Don Frederick, who joined the Los Angeles Times in 1989 after the Her Ex folded and has worked in their Washington bureau since 1996, covering everything from the impeachment of President Clinton to 9/11, as well as all of the presidential campaigns. He currently writes for the Top of The Ticket political blog, one of the Times most heavily trafficked web attractions.

·         Robert Sargent "Bobby" Shriver III, who is an attorney and  City Councilmember in Santa Monica, California,  as well as President of an entertainment and philanthropic company. A member of the Kennedy family, Bobby Shriver was hired by Bellows to work at the Her Ex early in his career.

Along with the panelists, distinguished members of the audience will reminisce and discuss the lasting imprint of one of the city’s most colorful newspapers at a time that all newspapers are under the microscope, during a time of change for the media.

The evening begins with a reception and networking starting at 6 p.m.; The tribute to Jim Bellows and program begin at 7:30 p.m.; A Her Ex Reunion Group photo and video immediately following the program. The Spirit of Corky’s bar will remain open until 11 pm. but mercifully there will be no karaoke.
