REPORT: Hundreds of people on Friday attended the Islamic burial of the gunman who killed two people in twin shootings in Copenhagen last weekend.
Omar El-Hussein, 22, was placed in an unmarked grave in the Muslim cemetery in Broendby, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, watched by around 500 people, mostly young men wearing thick black jackets against the cold and rain, an AFP reporter said.
El-Hussein, a Danish citizen of Palestinian origin, has been identified by police as the gunman who shot dead two people — a filmmaker and a volunteer Jewish security guard — in the Danish capital last weekend.
Before the burial, a short ceremony was held at a Copenhagen mosque following Friday prayers.
A man of east African origin, who refused to give his name, told AFP about the ceremony: “There were a lot of young people that you don’t normally see there… because they knew Omar. Some of them were gang members.
“They are my brothers too because they believe in Allah and the Prophet Mohammed, but their lifestyle doesn’t have a lot to do with Islam,” he said.

Different groups have different gifts and different interests. The gifts and interests of one group often pose threats to other groups.
As a convert to Judaism, I think many Jews are wonderful, but are Jews only a force for good in the world? Of course not. So in the story below, a Jewish non-profit demands that President Obama gets specific about the threats posed by Islamic fundamentalism.
I’m fine with that, but I want to go deeper and wider. Why not get specific about the threats that different groups pose. Blacks, for example, have a high crime rate. Jews, for example, are incredibly influential, and that influence does not only extend in positive directions (what is positive or negative will depend upon your hero system).
Jews and gays and asians and Anglicans and women and the trans are not pure angels. Please remind me when anyone in public life in the West demanded that these group threats to civilization be named? If we want to get on our high horse about the president calling out Islam, should we not also demand that he call out blacks as a disproportionate threat for committing crimes such as rape, murder and robbery? Should he not call out Mexicans as a disproportionate threat to enter America illegally? Should not all groups be called out according to their statistical share of the problem?
A leading human rights organization is calling on President Barack Obama to start getting specific about the massive threat posed by “Islamist fundamentalism.”
The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a non-profit that combats anti-Semitism, said on the heels of the White House’s controversial Countering Violent Extremism Summit (CVE) that Obama has failed to clearly label the threat of radical Muslims.
Obama’s White House and State Department has faced regular criticism for refusing to name radical Islam as the top global terrorism threat.
The Wiesenthal Center said in its statement that it is time for Obama to get specific.
“The existential threat that confronts the world today has a name—Islamist fundamentalism—and has addresses—ISIS, al Qaeda, and their ilk,” Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, dean and founder and associate dean of the Center, said in a statement.
“We must also be honest in acknowledging the scope of the problem,” they said. “The number of Muslims sympathetic to Jihadists, could, according to a 2013 Pew poll, could far exceed 200 million—more than the total populations of the Axis Powers at the beginning of WWII.”
Notable Muslim leaders have not been vocal enough in their condemnations of radical jihadi terrorists such as the Islamic State (IS) and others, Hier and Cooper said.
“After the murders in Paris, Copenhagen, after the beheading of Christians in Libya, the world still awaits an outpouring of criticism by leading Imams around the world of the targeted killings by ISIS of innocent Christians, Jews, and Muslims,” they say.
“We urge the United States to join with and empower countries who are suffering blows from these terrorists, including, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE and Western European nations, and work together quickly to kill the terrorists, destroy their infrastructure and destroy this mushrooming terrorist threat to the world.”
“However, we urge the president to prioritize the military defeat of ISIS and other theologically-driven Islamist terrorist groups who are marching across the Arab world—beheading, burning alive, kidnapping, and murdering all those who stand in the way of the establishment of a global caliphate,“ Center officials added.
Well, let’s turn this same spotlight on the Jews. Every major Jewish organization supports immigration amnesty. That’s a threat to American citizens.
What person with traditional values would say that Hollywood is a force for good in the world? If Hollywood is a force for ill, on balance, then surely that somewhat Jewish threat must be named?
Is gangster rap making the world a better place? Is pornography? If not, the Jewish role in these businesses must be named.
Yes, there is an Islamic threat to American security. There’s Mexican threat to national security given the large amount of illegal Mexican immigration. Is there any Jewish threat to national security? Jonathan Pollard likely stole the crown jewels of America’s nuclear secrets for Israel which then traded them to the Soviet Union in exchange for the release of Jews. Every American nuclear scientist who gave the Soviets information on how to build a nuclear weapon was Jewish.
I no more think that Jews are evil than I think that Muslims are evil or Mexicans are evil or Africans are evil. I think every people has distinct gifts and distinct shortcomings and distinct interests. Let’s be honest and open about such things. Let’s talk facts. I suspect that when it comes to risky financial instruments and chicanery on Wall Street right now, Jews and Indians are a disproportionate threat. When it comes to keeping a stiff upper lip, WASPs are a threat. If it comes to loud complaining in restaurants, Jews are a disproportionate threat. When it comes to the evils of passivity, WASPs are a threat.

Because the biggest Jewish organizations in America and elsewhere in the diaspora frequently push left-wing policies I find abhorrent, I yearn for the development of a “Jews for Consistency” coalition that critiques such activism.
One basis for such a critique would be to compare this activism with Jewish text and Jewish tradition. Another basis for critique would be to ask if these activists seek the same things for the Jewish state and for Jewish communities. Are they pushing one thing for non-Jews and another thing for Jews?
In general, left-wing Jews support identical left-wing policies for Jews and non-Jews and right-wing Jews support identical right-wing policies for Jews and non-Jews.
Now, different Jews push for different things. Jews who want multi-culturalism and immigration into America want the same thing for Israel, and Jews who want Israel to build a wall also want America to build a wall against illegal immigrants.
If unity, strength and cohesion are good for Jews, then these qualities are equally good for gentiles. When you maximize rights and power for minorities, as left-wing activists often try to do in the West, it always comes at the cost of cohesion for the majority. How would you like your country being disunited and fragmented? How would you like the Jewish state to stop being the Jewish state and start being another multicultural hodgepodge of warring groups? Do you want Tibet to stop being Tibetan and Japan to stop being Japanese?
In life, victory doesn’t always go to the upright, but peoples and organizations that continually operate in deceit usually come a cropper. Such behavior is not in line with Torah.
“Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so all will go well with you. Then you will enter and occupy the good land that the LORD swore to give your ancestors.” (Deut. 6:18)
“Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:3-4)
Vice President Joe Biden spoke at length Tuesday night about the influence of Judaism on the United States, dating back to the country’s founding and to the present day as Jews helped shape views on gay rights.
“The truth is that Jewish heritage, Jewish culture, Jewish values are such an essential part of who we are that it’s fair to say that Jewish heritage is American heritage,” he said. “The Jewish people have contributed greatly to America. No group has had such an outsized influence per capita as all of you standing before you, and all of those who went before me and all of those who went before you.”
“You make up 11 percent of the seats in the United States Congress. You make up one-third of all Nobel laureates,” he said. “So many notions that are embraced by this nation that particularly emanate from over 5,000 years of Jewish history, tradition and culture: independence, individualism, fairness, decency, justice, charity. These are all as you say, as I learned early on as a Catholic being educated by my friends, this tzedakah.”
“The embrace of immigration” is part of that, as is the involvement of Jews in social justice movements.
“You can’t talk about the civil rights movement in this country without talking about Jewish freedom riders and Jack Greenberg,” he said, telling a story about seeing a group of Jewish activists at a segregated movie theater in Delaware. “You can’t talk about the women’s movement without talking about Betty Friedan” or American advances in science and technology without mentioning Einstein and Carl Sagan, or music and Gershwin, Bob Dylan and “so, so, so many other people.”
“I believe what affects the movements in America, what affects our attitudes in America are as much the culture and the arts as anything else,” he said. That’s why he spoke out on gay marriage “apparently a little ahead of time.”
“It wasn’t anything we legislatively did. It was ‘Will and Grace,’ it was the social media. Literally. That’s what changed peoples’ attitudes. That’s why I was so certain that the vast majority of people would embrace and rapidly embrace” gay marriage,” Biden said.
“Think behind of all that, I bet you 85 percent of those changes, whether it’s in Hollywood or social media are a consequence of Jewish leaders in the industry. The influence is immense, the influence is immense. And, I might add, it is all to the good,” he said.
Jews have also been key to the evolution of American jurisprudence, he continued, namedropping Brandeis, Fortas, Frankfurter, Cardozo, Ginsberg, Breyer, Kagan. “You literally can’t. You can’t talk about the recognition of … rights in the Constitution without looking at these incredible jurists that we’ve had.”
“Jewish heritage has shaped who we are – all of us, us, me – as much or more than any other factor in the last 223 years. And that’s a fact,” he said.
“We talk about it in terms of the incredible accomplishments and contributions” of Jews in America,” Biden added, “but it’s deeper “because the values, the values are so deep and so engrained in American culture, in our Constitution.”
“So I think you, as usual, underestimate the impact of Jewish heritage. I really mean that. I think you vastly underestimate the impact you’ve had on the development of this nation. We owe you, we owe generations who came before you,” he said.
Thirteen Jewish groups, among them organizations representing the Reform, Reconstructionist and Conservative streams, were among the 25 joining the amicus brief the ADL filed in Obergefell v. Hodges.
The preeminence of Jewish groups among those backing the litigants was not a surprise. In recent decades, much of the Jewish establishment has embraced gay marriage as a right equivalent to the others it has advocated, including racial equality, religious freedoms and rights for women.
Multiple groups, in their statements, cited the passage in Genesis that states humans were created “in the image of God,” which has for decades been used by Jewish civil rights groups to explain their activism.
“Jewish tradition reminds us that we were all created equally, b’tzelem Elohim, in the ‘image of God’ (Genesis 1:27), and also shows us that marriage is a sacred responsibility, not only between the partners, but also between the couple and the larger community,” the Conservative movement’s Rabbinical Assembly said in a statement.
Groups also were looking to next steps in advancing LGBT rights, including in the workplace.
“You can now legally marry in all 50 states and put your wedding on your desk and be fired and have no recourse in the federal courts,” Rabbi Jonah Pesner, who directs the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center, told JTA in an interview.
“We hope this will energize and inspire a bipartisan effort to end discrimination in the work place,” he said, specifying the “T” in LGBT – the transgendered. “People should not be discriminated in the workplace because of expression of gender.”
If same-sex marriage is such a Jewish value, how come it was unknown in Jewish life prior to the 1990s? How come the Jewish state of Israel does not celebrate gay marriage? If being transgendered is cool, how come the Torah prohibits a man from wearing a woman’s clothing?
I have no problem with Jews putting Jewish interests first (and for other groups to put themselves first). I am a Jewish nationalist. I support organization and cohesion for all groups (whites, blacks, Gentiles, Jews, Japanese, Cubans, Croats, Tibetans, etc). I want all peoples to work out their national destiny free of outside domination. I never seek anything for my group (Jews) that I would not want for all groups to enjoy (except in zero-sum cases where I side with my group in my actions while striving to remain objective in my thinking). I do object, however, when I find groups operating with deceit.
Life is often a vicious struggle for scarce resources such as land and water and power. Different groups, different individuals, always have different interests, which is why all relationships have stress. No two people and no two groups are exactly alike and no two countries have identical interests. As one tweet put it: “The world isn’t a party where everyone gets along. We can associate with whomever we wish & can exclude you even if it hurts your feelings.”
Now, if Jewish organizations such as the ADL and the SPLC will be honest and say that they are ethnic advocacy groups, then we’ll pay them no mind.
If Jews get to have safe spaces free of gentile influence, then gentiles should be allowed safe spaces free of Jewish influence. Jews have strict dietary laws (kashurt) limiting their social interactions with gentiles, why should not gentiles be allowed clubs without Jews?
If Jewish organizations such as AIPAC want to lobby for Israel, we’ll ask if these policies are in America’s interests. Every group has a right to protect its interests, and if goyim won’t stand up for themselves, Jews will have to. Perhaps Israel is the best tool we have. We can say to the world, Live like Zionists! Put your own interests first.
If Jews want to call anti-Semitism a mental illness, we’ll ask that they apply the same label to Jews who hate Gentiles.
If Jewish organizations want to make Holocaust revisionism a crime, we’ll ask that they also support criminalizing other revisions of the conventional wisdom (the crucifixion of Jesus, etc). Why should Jewish suffering be any more sacred to the world at large than the suffering of other peoples? If Jewish organizations want to push for Holocaust education in public schools, we’ll ask that this education be proportionate to the number of deaths in genocides, so that most attention goes to the genocides under communists, which were sometimes carried out by Jews (the Ukrainian famine, etc).
If it is illegal for the majority to have free association and to have exclusively white businesses, white schools, and white neighborhoods, it should be similarly illegal for minorities to have free association. As a gesture of good faith, these Jewish organizations pushing for more Muslim and non-white immigration should ask Jews to experience the vibrancy of racial diversity in their own homes.
Jews have done wonderful things, and Jewish organizations understandably trumpet Jewish accomplishments, but it is obnoxious if we do not admit the negative things that some Jews have done such as to promote communism, feminism, same-sex marriage, gangster rap and pornography.
In Genesis 22:18, God says to Abraham: “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
It’s worth monitoring the effect Jews have on the world. Jewish intellectual Paul Gottfried told me April 14, 2014: “The one indispensable element for Western civilization are the white Christians. Once they go, everything goes. Jews aren’t going to save anything except Jewish self-interest, which is often viewed as incompatible with the preservation of a Western Christian civilization. Jews typically tend to weaken that.”
“To say that Orthodox Jews are less of a threat to civilization does not mean that they are an appealing alternative. They’re not as dangerous as the more assimilated Jews. It doesn’t make them the good guys. It doesn’t make them a model you want to imitate if you are interested in preserving Western civilization.”
“The neoconservative position is that if blacks don’t like us, we have done so much for them, we have sacrificed ourselves, they should kiss our toes and support Israel and if they don’t, they’re making us suffer because they’re extremely evil. What Kevin MacDonald shows is that leftist Jews take certain positions because they’re trying to neutralize the Gentile [threat]. Most Jews I have known on the left fear white Gentiles.”

Theoretically, they love Israel as a Jewish land but they are not going to go there to live. It’s some distant country they admire. In traditional Jewish circles [outside the haredim], anything for Israel is good. But they’re not going to leave the United States. They have a physical and financial and residential attachment to the United States.”
Torah wants Jews within the Torah Corral. It’s when they leave it and start pushing radical politics that I get nervous.
Ashkenazi Jews have the highest average IQ of any people (somewhere between 105 and 120). As the journal Social Psychology Quarterly reported in 2010:
More intelligent people are significantly more likely to exhibit social values and religious and political preferences that are novel to the human species in evolutionary history. Specifically, liberalism and atheism…
The theory suggests that more intelligent people are more likely than less intelligent people to adopt evolutionarily novel preferences and values, but intelligence does not correlate with preferences and values that are old enough to have been shaped by evolution over millions of years.”
…Kanazawa argues that humans are evolutionarily designed to be conservative, caring mostly about their family and friends, and being liberal, caring about an indefinite number of genetically unrelated strangers they never meet or interact with, is evolutionarily novel. So more intelligent children may be more likely to grow up to be liberals.
The reason anyone who notices racial differences is called a Nazi is not because they are one or have anything in common with one per se, but rather, because of the fear of exacerbating group tensions.
The most natural thing for an animal — any animal, insects too — to ask when their environment begins to change is, “Is there something that is f***ing up my s***?”
There’s nothing in Jewish text that specifies the skin color of the Messiah. He might be black, even Aboriginal:

In this lecture, Rabbi Aaron Rakeffet-Rothkoff says: “We come to the synagogue [in Moscow in 1980] and there is a famous picture of Golda Meir when she was the Israeli ambassador to Russia after the founding of the state [of Israel]. She had announced that on Rosh Hashanah, she would come to this shul and 50,000 Jews turned out and Stalin went crazy. It influenced his thinking afterward. His hatred that the Jews still retain an identity, that they are not like all other communist people.”
Perhaps Stalin wasn’t nuts. Perhaps he saw that many Russian Jews had more loyalty to the Jewish state than they had to the Soviet Union and this rationally disturbed him.
All of the American nuclear scientists who turn over to Stalin the secrets of how to build a nuclear bomb were also Jewish. Perhaps there were some rational reasons why Gentiles in the U.S. Military became suspicious of Jews?
When Gentile leaders of Gentile countries start to suspect that their Jewish citizens don’t have the same loyalty to the state that non-Jews have, perhaps they’re not totally crazy and perhaps it is in their self-interest to address this. If American Jews today face a tougher security clearance test than WASPs, perhaps there is a good reason for this?
Rabbi Aaron Rakeffet-Rothkoff announces in his talk that he has the highest security clearance in Israel. He never stints in self-praise.
He says about the Jews of Russia: “But these are Jews. These are our brothers. These are our sisters. This is whole we’re going to build the state of Israel.”
Some Jews see their fellow non-Jewish citizens as their brothers and sisters, while other Jews see Jews around the world as their brothers and sisters.
Jews will swell with pride listening to the rabbi’s adventures in Russia while many non-Jews will conclude that Jews need extra scrutiny.
Rabbi: “The hardest thing for the Jewish people is to learn to salute.”
In this lecture, Rabbi Aaron Rakeffet-Rothkoff says: “My wife was on a bus in Jerusalem and struck up a conversation with a woman writing in Arabic, who says, I owe my life to the Jewish Agency. The Mossad set up an ‘uncle’ in Turkey, and this ‘uncle’ invited his Iranian ‘relatives’ to visit him in Turkey. The minute they came to Turkey, this tall good looking man with blonde hair immediately shows us identity [papers], took us to a beautiful hotel. Three days later, they woke us up and put us on a plane to Israel. I owe everything to Israel.”
The rabbi tears up as he relates this story.
If he wants to be empathic to the goyim and logically consistent, he should point out that non-Jews might sometimes do well to take extra care with Jews due to their Semitic gifts for deception.
I grew up a Seventh-Day Adventist. I think many, if not most of the observant Adventists I grew up with, could not countenance the deception in this story. They would not practice it. They can not praise it. Adventists tend to have an absolute prohibition against lying. They may violate it because they are weak, but ideologically, few knowledgeable Adventists will say it is OK to lie for good purposes. I think many WASPs are this way. In my experience, WASPs are the most likely group to tell the truth and to avoid deception.
For Jews and Judaism, truth often has an instrumental value. If by telling a lie you can save a Jewish life, you tell a lie. It’s not even a dilemma.
I agree with this. I would lie to save a life.
I think most people will agree that the Jewish daring in the rabbi’s story was a good thing employed to good ends, but a people daring and devious enough to conduct such operations will inevitably use their smarts for less noble ends at times. Some Jews will say untruths to simply get what they want. I guess that’s why the term “Jew” is synonymous in some quarters with dishonesty.
Who do you think will cheat more? A WASP or a Jew?
Dennis Prager says that at Brooklyn College, his fellow teachers regarded Jewish students as more likely to cheat than non-Jewish students.
My Orthodox friends say that Orthodox Jews are more likely to cheat than non-Orthodox Jews.
As someone who grew up a WASP and converted to Judaism, I would expect more cheating among Jews than among Adventists. Growing up an Adventist, I never heard anyone boasting about cheating on their taxes and cheating on their customs forms, etc. Some Adventists did cheat, but they never boasted about it. It was not something they would generally feel comfortable in relating to a wide group of people. In Jewish life, it is not uncommon to hear Jews boast about how they cheated on their taxes, in business, etc.
Am I arguing that Adventists are superior to Jews in all respects? Not at all. Different groups have different traits. Different peoples have different gifts. For most crimes, for example, Jews have much lower rates of infraction than non-Jews but it seems like on Wall Street, Jews commit a disproportionate number of misdeeds. In the Michael Milken – Ivan Boesky crime wave of the 1980s, 90% of the players were Jewish. Boesky spend a lot of time hanging out at the Jewish Theological Seminary.
Many studies have shown that crime is predominantly committed by the less intelligent. Probably the main reasons for this are that the more intelligent have a better understanding of the costs of crime, and since they generally have better jobs and higher social status, the cost of crime is usually greater for them. It is therefore interesting to note that Jews have tended to have lower crime rates than Gentiles.
During the early 20th century, the Jewish physician Martin Englander (1902, pp. 11-12) contended that Jews are on average more intelligent that Gentiles and have larger heads, though inferior
physique. During World War I, the suggestion that Jews are more intelligent than Gentiles appeared to be confirmed with the publication of a study by Ottokar Nemeck (1916) in which he analyzed the scholastic records of 1,549 15-18-year-old school students. He reported that Jewish students were on average superior in all academic subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, languages, history, and geography.
Jewish children scored much higher than the other three groups on verbal ability, about the same as the Chinese on reasoning and numerical abilities, but below the Chinese on spatial ability. It appears, therefore, that the European Jews have particularly strong verbal ability and somewhat less strong reasoning and numerical abilities, but their spatial ability is not nearly so good, not only compared with Oriental Jews but also with other racial groups, namely, Chinese, Blacks, and Puerto Ricans. This pattern of European Jewish abilities confirms the theory that these abilities evolved because they found a niche in Europe as money-lenders and tax farmers, for which verbal, reasoning, and numerical abilities were required, and were excluded from the craft occupations for which spatial ability is required…
We have seen that there is a gradient of intelligence in the four ethnic populations in Israel. Intelligence is highest in the European Jews (IQ=io6), lower in the Orientals (IQ=90), lower still in the Arabs (IQ=84), and lowest in the Ethiopian Jews (IQ= 69). The Persecution Hypothesis provides a reasonable explanation of why the Ashkenazim have acquired higher IQs than the Sephardim, Mizrahim, and Ethiopian Jews: the Sephardim, Mizrahim, and Ethiopian Jews were not persecuted as much as the Ashkenazim. During their sojourn in Spain and Portugal, and their five centuries in the Ottoman Empire, the Sephardic Jews were well treated. As we have seen in the chapter on the Balkans, “the fate of the Jews in the hands of Islam had on the whole been far more tolerable than in other parts of Europe” (Silvera, 1995, p. 56); and in the Ottoman Empire, the reign of Sultan Murad II (1421-1451) “began a period of prosperity that lasted for two centuries and which is unequalled in their history in any other country.” Jews had influential positions at court; they engaged in unrestricted trade and commerce; they dressed and lived as they pleased; and they traveled at their pleasure in all parts of the country.

There are eight values in which Jews are significantly different from others. Jews attach less importance to cleanliness, honesty, manners and obedience, but they attach more importance to considerateness, interest in how and why things happen, judgment and responsibility. (Fuller details of this study are given in Lynn and Kanazawa (2008).)
The results of all these studies suggest that Jews have stronger motivation for achievement than Gentiles. The high achievements of the Jews can be understood in terms of the formula IQ x Motivation x Opportunity = Achievement. It is the multiplicative interaction of IQ with motivation and opportunity that explains the huge overrepresentation of the Ashkenazim in all indices of high achievement. A Jewish advantage of around o.4d to o.5d in motivation interacting multiplicatively with a o.67d (10 IQ points) advantage in IQ is sufficient to explain the huge Jewish advantage in achievement. Notice also that if any of the terms in the equation is zero, there can be no achievement. This was the case with Jews before their emancipation in the 19th century. They must have possessed their high IQ and motivation because these will have evolved over centuries, but they generally achieved little because they were denied the opportunity, except in a few places like Britain and the Netherlands.
Once the Jews were emancipated, all three components of the equation for achievement were present and the Jews rapidly outperformed Gentiles in all areas. The high Jewish motivation for achievement, together with high intelligence, most likely has a genetic basis, brought about through having been selected for by eugenic customs, persecution, and discrimination.
…the high IQ of the Jews raises three awkward problems: (1) the high IQ of the Jews must have a genetic basis; (2) Jewish eugenic customs have contributed to the high Jewish IQ, and hence eugenic practices are effective in raising the intelligence of a people; and (3) a minority ethnic group with a high IQ succeeds despite discrimination.
It is impossible to avoid the conclusion that a significant factor in these Jewish achievements is their high IQ and that this must have a substantial genetic basis.
Jews have everywhere experienced anti-Semitism and discrimination, yet they have invariably done better in earnings, socioeconomic status, and intellectual achievement than Europeans. The only possible inference that can be drawn is that an ethnic group with a high IQ succeeds despite discrimination. This, in turn, discredits the theory that Blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians have failed to achieve equality with Whites because of discrimination. Those such as Sandra Scarr (1995), who maintain that racial discrimination is an important cause of Blacks’ low IQ, have a problem explaining the high IQ of the Jews. Why Jews have succeeded where Blacks, Hispanics, and Native American Indians have failed poses a problem that many social scientists find hard to explain, and thus prefer not to address. It is difficult to avoid the conclusion that this is another of the reasons why a discreet veil of silence has been drawn over the high Jewish IQ.

So, it’s helpful to add a third culture to the big question of the day about Christianity and Islam:
– In Culture A, X happened, but in Cultures B and C, X didn’t happen? Why?
Fortunately for our analytical purposes, there was a third culture C in Western Eurasia during this time period which had many of the presumed prerequisites to invent liberal modernity, such as literacy, wealth, and globalist connections, and yet failed: Judaism.
Only in the second half of the 18th Century did a few German Jews, such as composer Felix Mendelssohn’s grandfather Moses, start to notice that the gentiles were no longer such impoverished ignoramuses, and that Jews could, for once, learn from the gentiles, and thus launched the Jewish Enlightenment in imitation of the host culture’s long ongoing Enlightenment.
In contrast to the Islamic world’s continuing failures, we can be sure that Judaism’s failures were due to nurture rather than nature, in that within a few generations, many Jews had rapidly adjusted to the new culture and were at the forefront of global modernity (e.g., Einstein).
So, the failure of Jews to achieve anything near liberal modernity without imitating enlightened German gentiles reflects flaws (from the perspective of liberal modernity) in Jewish culture that could provide enlightening perspectives on the current Christian v. Muslim cultures discussion.
But, of course, the failures of Jewish culture are not a topic open to discussion in the 21st Century, at least not among gentiles. The only explanation allowed for gentile thinkers to even consider is gentile anti-Semitic discrimination.
“Growing up, I saw marriage as stressed-out, sexually frustrated people worrying about bat mitzvahs,” says Victoria, 31, from a “comfortable” New Jersey suburb. “Part of the attraction to Nacho was that it’d be impossible for us to be that.”
Nacho, 25, started working in agave fields in his Mexican hometown at age 6. “I grew up really simple,” Nacho, a farm worker, says. “I was the oldest, so I had to support my family. When I was a child I thought I’d have a wife at home to cook for me, but Victoria is the opposite of that.”
They met working on a farm. Both say that they fell for each other right away. As they waited for his visa, she visited him in Mexico. “Our base level of comfort is so different,” Victoria says. “He slept on a mattress in the kitchen. There was black mold everywhere. But I believed our love could get around it.” After they decided to get married, their differences seemed bigger. “We have different ideas about everything from how to talk to a little boy who’s crying to whether to save money,” Victoria says. Nacho concurs, “I live in the moment. She worries. The first problem was her asking about the future, talking about children.”
Now they’re separated but friends. “Working on the visa, the importance of everything outside the goodness of our fantastical love became more glaring,” Victoria says. “I know I have privilege. My kids don’t need new clothes, but I don’t want them to struggle, to have so much uncertainty. It was hard to have all this stuff come up and not just hate myself. I’d judge myself and think, ‘Are you saying he’s not good enough because he was born poor and Mexican?’ It’s sad. I know I have all these expectations, so I have a lot more room to be uncomfortable. He doesn’t get nervous. He’s survived a lot, so he knows he’s going to be okay.”
High IQ people tend to think more about the future while blacks and Mexicans tend to live more in the present moment.
While upwardly mobile Mexican-Americans marry blonde Anglos, downwardly mobile white men wed Mexicans. Now, there is no doubt plenty to be said for getting hitched to a Mexican lady. They probably tend to make better mothers, homemakers, and cooks than the leggy blonde careerists who, however, are so much more in demand in Southern California. But sadly, there is a big social cost to Anglo-Hispanic marriages—which raises severe doubts about America’s ability to assimilate Latino immigrants. As pro-immigration/pro-assimilation researcher Gregory Rodriguez admits, “Surprisingly, in most homes headed by an Anglo/Latino couple, Spanish becomes the household language.”
Thus, those L.A. blue-collar whites who don’t flee to Utah will tend to assimilate genetically and culturally into Latino culture.

I couldn’t muster the chutzpah to do that myself, but I notice that it draws me in, makes me even more eager to read Bettina Stangneth’s book.
