How To Tell If A Girl Likes You

If she’s keeping her distance and looking around the room while she’s talking to you or if she pats you when she hugs you goodbye, she’s just not that into you.

Here are ways you can tell if she is into you:

She will give you deliberate and direct eye contact with flirtatious glances away or down. In addition, her eyes will dilate and sparkle as you speak to her.

She will be all smiles. She will not be able to help herself if she likes you.

She will find ways to physically touch you while talking with you. For instance, she will gently touch your forearm or shoulder. In addition, she will lean into you while you’re talking.

Why Didn’t We Date?

I have a good friend. She’s an attractive woman. We’ve studied Torah together. We’ve gone to Jewish conferences together. We’ve talked for hours.

People have often said that we are the mirror image of the other.

Yet we’ve never crossed the line. We’ve never had a moment of romance. We’ve never had to conquer our base physical instincts with regard to the other.

Why? People have asked us, “How come you two didn’t date?”

I think we know each other too well. There is no possibility of us objectifying the other. I can’t think of her as just some smoking hottie and she can’t possibly consider me this strong provider. We just have no illusions about the other. We each realize how deeply flawed the other is so it has always been impossible for us to fantasize.

Romantic love relies upon ascribing all sorts of qualities to the beloved that are not there. That are just a figment of our imagination. That are just projections of our fantasies.

When you know the other person is congenitally broken and will bring misery in his/her wake, it’s hard to lie in bed and to dream that he/she will fix you.

Should Men Do More Around The Home?

On his radio show yesterday, Dennis Prager dealt with this New York Times article.

“I don’t recall my dad vacuuming or cooking or making the bed,” said Dennis July 6, 2011. “When a woman is 25 and is imagining her husband, does she imagine him vacuuming? Does she imagine, oh, my ideal man, he will do as much housework as I. That is what I am told is most females’ desire.

“When men imagine being married, do they imagine doing half the housework? I’m not talking about what necessity creates. I don’t judge. I know men who are the full-time house husband. I respect that. I don’t relate to this 50-50 idea with regards to the housework.”

“When you are single and you are imagining your home, is that what you imagine?”

“Why are they having problems in Europe getting men to do more housework? It’s the egalitarian world. In Norway, they dictate the number of women who have to be on the boards of major corporations. So what’s the issue then?”

A male caller says it depends on “an attitude of gratitude. We’re not going to do the chores if you critique us on how we do it. But if you come up behind us and give us a little kiss and thank us for taking out the trash…”

Why is old-fashioned bad? Why is the new good? Which social changes over the past 40 years have been for good and which have been for bad?

Obama Has Produced The Worst Economic Recovery Ever

From IBD:

There are 2 million fewer private-sector jobs now than when Obama was sworn in, and the unemployment rate is 1.5 percentage points higher.

• There are now more long-term unemployed than at any time since the government started keeping records.

• The U.S. dollar is more than 12% weaker.

• The number of Americans on food stamps has climbed 37%.

• The Misery Index (unemployment plus inflation) is up 62%.

• And the national debt is about 40% higher than it was in January 2009.

In fact, reporters who bother to look will discover that Obama has managed to produce the worst recovery on record.

Dennis Prager: Casey Anthony Got Away With Murder Or Manslaughter

On his radio show yesterday, Dennis Prager said: “I expected some form of guilty verdict. I’ve listened to commentary for a day now.”

“The prosecution had an impossible task.”

Casey Anthony either got away with murder or she got away with manslaughter.”

“I don’t like Jose Baez [Casey’s defense attorney]. I don’t like his values. I don’t like he partied afterwards, opening champagne on TV. Didn’t a little girl get killed? Didn’t a family get torn apart?”

“Casey made up lie after lie after lie to just delay the investigation. The non-reporting of your own child gone missing.”

“PTSD leads one to party? Her brother is the father of the baby? Her father molested her?”

“The most eloquent moment of the trial was watching the parents leave the court room after the verdict was announced.”

“The last person I announced that I didn’t like was John Edwards. Maybe twice a decade I announce something like that.”

Why did Jose Baez lapse into Spanish in his news conference?

Dennis: “I don’t have the words to describe how I feel at this moment.”

“What the hell was that about? Are the Anthonys latino? It’s so arrogant. I am going to shove it to your face my ethnic origins. They have nothing to do with anything but I just thought I’d do it. I’m going to tell Alan Dershowitz that the next time he wins a case, he should lapse into Yiddish.”

“I’m not blaming the jury nor the prosecution. My biggest annoyance is what the defense did to smear the father and the brother.”

“Can anybody come up with a plausible explanation for the death of the child that does not involve the mother’s bad behavior? Drowned in the pool and then what?”

“I’d like to ask the defense team, what do you believe happen? And put them on a lie detector.”

“She should keep quiet. She should enter the equivalent of a modern nunnery. Her daughter died under her watch and she did nothing to find the daughter. That’s the best scenario and it’s sick and evil. The best scenario paints her as awful. The worst scenario as monsterous. To be seen back to her partying… Her tattoo said, ‘The beautiful life.’ My daughter is gone and now it is the beautiful life. I recommend to her a quiet life of penitence.”

“If I had been on the jury, I would’ve voted for manslaughter.”

Beware Of The Dangers Of Excessive Heat!

Will San Francisco Wake Jews Up To The Dangers Of The Left?

Dennis Prager writes:

If San Francisco succeeds in banning circumcision, some good may come of it.

Let me explain. I am a passionate advocate of Jewish ritual circumcision — the ritual circumcision of 8-day-old Jewish boys. I am even an advocate of circumcision generally. I was recently in Africa — in Zimbabwe and Zambia — where I delivered mosquito nets and seeds to the poorest of Africa’s poor. I saw giant billboards there, as well as in neighboring Botswana, exhorting men to get circumcised. The World Health Organization estimates that male circumcision reduces the rate of heterosexually transmitted AIDS by about 60 percent.

As regards Jewish ritual circumcision, I can only say that I cried like a baby at the brit milah of my two sons. All I could think of was that I had been given the gift of transmitting Jewish identity in an unbroken chain that dates back to Abraham, 3,600 years ago.

I find the arguments of those who campaign against the brit milah either specious or ludicrous. The notion that some terrible, lasting pain is inflicted on the baby is over the top. The average time the baby cries is probably well under the time it cries — and far less frantic than — when tired or desiring milk. I fully understand the conflicted feelings of the mother, and I see no reason for her to be present.

Does the baby experience pain and discomfort afterward? Yes. But it is temporary, and the baby heals quickly.

The advantages wildly outweigh the momentary pain. The brit uniquely strengthens a Jew’s commitment to Judaism and instills in the family and the community a profound identification with the Jewish people and with nearly four millennia of world-changing values.

As for the argument that the foreskin is important, I can only say that in my most self-pitying moments I cannot recall lamenting not having foreskin. As I have told anti-circumcision activists on my radio show, you have to be pretty bored with life to be preoccupied with not having your foreskin.

One might add that the same people who are profoundly upset over the removal of foreskin rarely have a problem with the removal of a living human fetus. San Francisco considers protecting the human fetus religious fanaticism, but is seriously considering protecting a newborn’s foreskin.

So, then, given my profound support for circumcision, what good could possibly come from San Francisco passing a ban on it?

If the most left-wing major city in America starts arresting Jews who have their children circumcised in that city, some American Jews might awaken to the threat to Jews posed by the left. Obviously, San Francisco’s already-existing bans on toys in Happy Meals, on soda in city-owned places and on plastic bags, and the city’s proposed ban on the sale of pets, even goldfish, have not moved many Jews (and non-Jews) to begin wondering whether left-wing governance is dangerous. But perhaps a ban on circumcision will.

The Devil’s Double

According to IMDB.com: “A chilling vision of the House of Saddam Hussein comes to life through the eyes of the man who was forced to become the double of Hussein’s sadistic son.”

I found every minute of this movie compelling. I knew about Uday Hussein so the brutality didn’t shock me (though the explicitness of some of the movie descriptions forced me to look away).

While I was watching the movie, I was thinking, “This is normal male behavior. Many men would act like Uday if they could. They’d have sex with as many beautiful women as possible. They’d rape and torture for the thrill of it.”

According to Wikipedia: “Dr. Latif Yahia al-Salihi , (born June 14, 1964) is an Iraqi born author, blogger, Ph.D in International Law, and former military officer in the Iran-Iraq War. Latif was forcibly recruited to be the body double of Saddam Hussein’s elder son Uday Hussein.”

Here’s a movie review: “Powered by outstanding performances, two by Cooper, the film provides a vividly terrifying, but fascinating look into the inner circles of the Husseins, where’s there’s unbelievable wealth, women, and pure lack of control. Latif undergoes surgery, and dental work. He learns to match Uday’s high-pitched voice and is introduced everywhere as Saddam’s third son, much to the confusion of many. Latif initially resists, but threats of the murder and rape of his entire family coerces him into Uday’s ugly entourage. Sagnier comes into the story as Sarrab, Uday’s favorite lay.”
