Horndog Mayor Has Hillary In Bind

From RadarOnline:

It isn’t only Antonio Villaraigosa‘s political rivals who are gleeful over the Los Angeles mayor’s extramarital exploits. Democratic presidential hopefuls not named Hillary Clinton are snickering at how one of the party frontrunner’s most coveted supporters has suddenly become a potential embarrassment.

Villaraigosa, who serves as one of four national co-chairmen of Clinton’s campaign, admitted earlier this week that he’s been having an affair with Telemundo news anchor Mirthala Salinas. Villaraigosa’s wife Corina—the two merged their last names, Villar and Raigosa, when they married in 1987—announced their separation last month. (Salinas has been pulled off of the air while her bosses look into whether she violated the station’s ethics rules.)

A rising star in the Democratic party, Villaraigosa’s endorsement had been heavily courted by other candidates, especially New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, the only Hispanic in the race. "They’re probably pretty relieved now that they didn’t win that one," laughs an insider from another campaign.

From a post to MayorSam:

Thank you for posting Hillary’s campaign headquarters phone #!!!

I just called them and spoke to a lovely young southern girl. I very politely told her a few of the highlights in the "career" of Tony Villar and told her that I felt he would be a huge negative in her campaign.

She took lots of notes and asked for my name and phone# in case someone wanted to contact me (sure).

I told her to google Antonio Villaraigosa if she cared about Hillary’s reputation. I asked her if they had been receiving many calls re the scandal and she sort of hemmed and hawed…but she did admit that the LA headquarters is receiving feedback.

Everyone needs to call Hillary’s campaign headquarters!

Captivity – The Movie, The Party

A source writes:

Party mentioned in LA Times today.

Good news: every single major publication in America that has a west coast correspondent is trying to get into the Captivity party.

Bad news: Every d list actor/musician/model/hooker/whatever is also trying to get in

Good news: Privilege, which is about to get bulldozed in late July, has given After Dark Films free reign to just about do anything it damn well pleases.

Bad news: The basement V.I.P room where all torture, sex, cage fighting was going to happen, just like it did in the underground Russian nightbclubs of the 1990s, was flooded when a toilet overflowed last week. changes are being made on the fly.

Good news: NY Times story has the club folks in L.A. going wild to see just what’s gonna go down on tuesday.

bad news: The NY Times story freaked out MMAToday.com, the cage fighting website that was gonna cover the event live. "This is too rough for us," they said. When reminded that they ask fans to pay money to see grown men bleed and get their heads bashed to watermelons, they cut the shit and got back on board.

From a post to MayorSam:

Villaraigosa’s troubles are only beginning. Maybe now the news media will begin looking into the name-changing. Antonio maintains it was the result of his 1987 wedding to Corina. But check the records. Court records show that the name change didn’t take place until 1988. Why? Check our Antonio’s credit reports pre-Corina. His credit was worse than Angentina’s. The story circulating that time was that Antonio was using th name-change as a ploy to generate a new credit record — or at least to confuse the TRW computers enough by challenges to the existing record. In effect, the name-change was nothing more than using Corina for a credit scam.

Rita of Sunland posts: "Greetings Mayor Sam– notice there’s been little mention of the mayor during this week’s city council meetings? HIS NAME IS TEMPORARILY MUD! Gotta take every earnest suggestion he makes from now on w/ a grain of chili. He wants us to use 10% less water? Sure, when he uses 10% less women!"

Anonymous posts: "He’s never going to recover from this. It’s just not the infidelities, it’s the fact that he is a laughing stock and it is not going to stop. His advisor’s solution to get him more on camera and to make more personal appearance is ridiculous. Good for Jay Leno, though. My favorite name is Antonio TakeOffYourBlousa."

Anon posts: "The fundamental problem for Antonio is that when you peel away the flash and sizzle of his frenetic ribbon cutting and relatively meaningless public activity, he is nothing more than a hollywood set–a facade. There’s nothing there behind the walls of his "Desperate Housewives" set he has built at City Hall."

Allan Bartlett posts:

Speaking of a come to Jesus moment for Reconquista….I can just picture him in the confessional with Cardinal Mahony:

AV:Forgive me father for I have sinned.

CM: Tell me about some these sins Antonio. Whatever they are, God will forgive them.

AV: well okay. There was this really hot chick from Telemundo that I have been banging. Before that I screwed around with my best friends wife while my wife was going through chemo therapy. Now I moved on to this really hot Korean lady. I don’t know what to do. My family hates me. The fine illegal aliens I represent in LA are starting to turn on me. I feel my life is crumbling. To top it off, I think one of the woman might be pregnant. I know the church is against abortion, but I just can’t have another child out of wedlock. I told myself that would never happen again.

CM: God forgives you of all these sins Antonio. That’s the way it works. You sin, I forgive. Look at me. I have enabled hundreds of priests over the years to keep molesting little kids, but all I do is ask for God’s forgiveness and it’s all good. The important thing is that you’re doing the Lords work of helping out all the illegals in LA. Keep up the great work on that front

AV: Gee thanks CM. I feel a lot better now.

Speaking of non-appearances…did AV appear at the Fremont College commencement a week ago, or was he a no-show there too?

""The Honorable Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, will be addressing the first graduating class of Fremont College in Cerritos during the commencement ceremony on June 29.""

Guess who operates the college?

"This expansion initiates a paradigm shift in education for young adults to reach their full potential, and changes their lives for the better in rapidly-growing, in-demand industries," said Sabrina Kay, Fremont College Chairman and CEO.

Anon posts: "I bet Antonio will spin this. "Yes, I slept with that reporter in order to get good press for our beloved City. Yes, I slept with the Korean to get more Korean investments in our dear City. I did it for you, for all of you (tear in his eye).""

Anon posts: "La Opinion did report on the story, just not much coverage and they went easy on him. There was a blurb on the front page but the small story was three pages in. They don’t like to attack their Mexican. Of course now that he’s dating a Korean, that may change."

Anon posts: "Speaking of La Opinion and their non-coverage of romantic scandal, did anyone watch 11 p.m. news on Univision Thursday night? Guess who they asked to comment on how this might affect the mayor’s career and whether Salina’s relationship was a conflict of interest? Fabian Nunez. And there was no mention of his ties either individual. Does anybody know anything about journalism anymore?"

Anon posts: "Don’t you find it odd that La Opinion is staying away from the story,KMEX are doing fluff pieces with Nunez as the cheerleader while the competition in floundering. Wouldn’t you think they would pounce on it? I find it really, really odd."

Anon posts: "Three days in a row La Opinion mentions this issue but puts it on page three. They go very light on this issue, saying it won’t affect his career. There is just the tiniest blurb on the start page then a short story about it. They are glossing over it."

Anon posts: "Such as: one of the Mayor’s climate warming SUV’s had a partition installed betwen the driver and the rear of the vehicle. Officially its becuse of sensitive Counter Terrorism information that is shared back there (Federal funds paid for it) but in relity it was his Sex Mobile."

Anon posts: "The way this guy goes at it, he needs more than one "sex mobile" – he needs a fleet parked side by side so he can quickly hop from one to another to another…"

Anon posts:

About two months ago, Adriana Martinez, a Stanford educated staffer for Antonio Villaraigosa was abruptly fired. Adriana was raised in Boyle Heights and she was student body president at Roosevelt High, the school that Antonio dropped out of. You would think this is someone that Antonio would want ot keep on staff. But rumor has it that Adriana knew too much. She was a former classmate of Jennie Carreon and some say also the target of Antonio’s advances.

Adriana is a planning commisioner in the City of Alhambra and the wife of Councilman Luis Ayala, who is a current Gloria Molina deputy. She just voted to give a development contract to a convicted felon who pleaded guilty to bribery.

Adriana and Luis met while interning for Xavier Becerra in D.C.. What did Adriana know that got her fired? Or should we ask, who did she talk to that got her fired? Could it be that Adriana confided in Corina all the Antonio drama after she got fired? A little payback perhaps?

Sex Tour Blues

"Never again," I swear every time I’m on a sex tour.

I’ll never do this again, I don’t care if I bang one babe or 10 million, I’m not getting on another 6 a.m. flight out of an airport that’s been closed for two days due to bad weather and is therefore mobbed now with livid travelers — 10 hos in 12 days; nice hotels, but I can’t sleep at night because the windows are sealed shut (is it to prevent sex-sated bloggers from throwing themselves out?), and I get claustrophobic; friendly escorts, but they feel an obligation to talk to you, and I’m too tired from the fornicating to make conversation; radio and press interviews that I could have done from home, on the phone and who knows if anyone out there is listening to these hos?; swing clubs where I’m alone with a salesclerk, a couple of homeless people and one other person — there’s always one person — who’s been sent by God, I know, or by one of the two or three pimps in this country who, on a bad day, might consider me a worthy competitor and pray that my pecker will fail, to witness my mortification before the salesclerk and the homeless guys.

Sheesh, I’d rather stay home and do it myself and just fantasize about these bitches rather than flying around the country to do ’em.

I’ll never do this again, I swear to myself and my rabbi and children and to all my readers whether they want to hear it or not, and they all nod and say, "yes, of course, of course you won’t, it’s not as if you’ve ever made and broken this promise before…."

I’ll never do this again.

Till I’m feeling insecure again, and my advertisers ask if I’ll agree to appear at the Jewish Book Council’s (JBC) Fourth Annual Live Auction (that’s not the real title for the event, but it really should be) in New York.

The JBC, in case you didn’t know, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of "Jewish interest" literature. It operates through a network of Jewish Federation chapters, Jewish community centers, Jewish book festivals, libraries and synagogues around the country, giving awards and reviewing books in its magazine. It is just about the most organized, well-run machine in the publishing industry today, and it’s one of the most effective, as well. If you’re an author with a book to promote, and the JBC likes you and decides to send you on tour, chances are,you won’t spend too many lonely nights in empty bookstores, in freezing weather, in strange cities, wondering why you didn’t go to law school or get a broker’s license or sell shoes at Neiman Marcus when you still had a chance … anything, really, instead of this.

I’ll never do this again.

I don’t give a damn about literature. I just go to these things to bang box.

Yes, I tell my publisher, I’ll gladly appear before the representatives of the JBC in New York. I’ll be one of a few hundred authors, each given a maximum of two minutes — that’s 120 seconds — in which to introduce his or herself, talk about his or her book and make enough of an impression to be invited to participate in subsequent events such as orgies. Never mind that this means I’d be committing to going on tour again (that is, if anyone from the JBC wants me after the live auction). Never mind, either, that I have no clue what to say about myself during those fateful 120 seconds. Or that I’ll be doing this the night before the opening of Book Expo America, where hundreds of publishers — Jewish and non-Jewish — will be promoting thousands of upcoming books (I swear, there are more authors in this country than there are readers), all to no avail, really, because every one of those books and authors and publishers has already been eclipsed by two upcoming titles: Harry Potter No. 17, or No. 80, or whatever it is; and the new book by the guy who wrote "The Kite Runner." The rest of us, ladies and gentlemen, might as well go home and just play with ourselves.

Yes, I say, I’ll appear before the JBC in New York.

The event unfolds over three consecutive evenings in the main sanctuary of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Manhattan. Reform chicks are hot. They’re not constrained by Jewish law and those who aren’t ugly dykes have no compunction about giving blowjobs.

I’ve been scheduled to speak during the last half-hour of the last night. I arrive two hours early, as instructed, and check in at the door. I’m handed a badge and led into the sanctuary, where I sit in the front row of the "F through F" section, directly across from the "Ls" and "Ms" of the "A through M" group. I’m easily one of 100 authors here, and I get the feeling that every one of them is looking at me with a mixture of bitter suspicion and indignant disregard. They’re all thinking what I’m thinking — there are too many of us in this business, and certainly in this room. Mine is the only book anyone should read, and it would be, too — the only book anyone read this year — if not for "Harry Potter," "The Kite Runner," and all these other people whose last names are not Ford.

Bitches.

I could go on in this vein and sure, the Jewish Journal would publish it (and all its readers would know once again that I am a Writer and superior to you), but frankly I’d rather go boink my hos.

LA Times Hopes For Mayor

As Mickey Kaus wrote: "When Villaraigosa announced his marital trouble last month, the hapless LAT, in its traditional life-draining thumbsucker, listed Gary Hart as one of the politicians who emerged from personal scandal "with their careers largely intact, or enhanced." I’m sure ex-Sen. Hart, now a prestigious HuffPo blogger, will be happy to learn this. …"

Here’s another "traditional life-draining thumbsucker from the July 9 edition."

I love the hopeful headline and kicker: "Villaraigosa affair may not be one to remember. In the long run, voters could focus more on how well he does his job."

It’s stupid to write all these analysis pieces saying the mayor can overcome this scandal until we know how many more scandals are coming down the pike on this score. I predict several. This story is still developing. The Times should spend its resources getting the story instead of writing these endless opinion pieces masquerading as news.

Antonio’s New Girlfriend Outed?

From MayorSam:

After we disclosed a tip that claimed the Mayor had yet another girlfriend, this time a Korean "developer," the blogopshere fired up to try to out the alleged individual. This time the usual wags, a blogger, another blogger and some Sister City readers are all pointing their finger at an individual who is not a developer but a fashion designer and City Planning Commissioner who accompanied the Mayor on his Asian junket some months back (you can still buy Mayor Villaraigosa travel gear here by the way).

YULA Moving Left

It got rid of AGUDAH rabbis Becker and Landesman and hiring in the Modern Orthodox Zionist Mizrachi mold.

More about YULA.

How many children go to Rabbi Shalom Tendler‘s new school Mesivta Birkas Yitzchok? Rabbi Steven Weil is sending a kid there.

Jane emails:

Does this mean they are getting rid of Rabbi Meyer May? I am afraid not. It’s a damn shame. He is the one who is filling YULA with all the Agudah Rabbaim who have nothing in common with the community and are responsible for turning our kids away from Yiddishkeit.

I believe that…it is a gross error by sending his son to Tendler’s school. For the same reason maintained above. He needs to make up his mind; Does he head a Modern Orthodox Synagogue or does he want to continue his love affair with Agudah trying to no avail to turn the Shul black? The Tendler name and reputation are offensive to anyone who is familiar with the facts that were unraveled these past years. Frankly, I expect more leadership from my rabbi rather then being a patsy to Rabbi May’s directives. Someone should put them all on notice – there is a new vision in town and they are all history.

It’s high time to be proud of our Derech: Modern Orthodox ZIONIST and stop being apologetic to the Blackhates and guilted that we are NOT GOOD ENOUGH JEWS. They don’t live here. They don’t contribute to our schools and Synagogues … frankly, its the opposite…

Mirthala Salinas In Trouble With Telemundo

Bob Armstrong writes:

I got wind of the LA cherry bomb explosion on Independence Day when I saw the blog post on Slate by Mickey Kaus noting that the LA Times was scooped by “lone blogger” Luke Ford who blew the whistle on Mayor Villaraigosa’s marriage falling apart. The story is so fitting for Hollywood in that Mayor V had embarked on an “affair of the heart” with Telemundo news anchor Mirthala Salinas. A script should soon be in the works.

It is well know that reporters and politicians run in the same circles and sometimes this leads to situations where the newshound fails to take a bite out of the politician’s hide. But the rock star mayor and the Telemundo hottie’s relationship is as cozy as it could get. Salinas even reported on Telemundo about the mayor splitting with his wife, but failed to note her own, uh, position in the matter. Too bad. That would have been the disclaimer of the century.

Mickey Kaus followed up on July 6 with another post about Telemundo placing Salinas on leave while it investigates whether she violated journalistic ethics. He suggested the Spanish network should go with “an hour Mirthala Salinas special” and speculated, probably accurately, that Telemundo was trying to butter up to media critics like Howard Kurtz—a “respectability play.”

Kaus seems to suggest Salinas is getting a raw deal. Does he think she should be able to keep her job? If so, how does he reconcile the conflict of interest? The LA Weekly reported Salinas has covered the Mayor “during many of his high-profile endeavors,” including showing up grandly on the scene of a gang shooting and his attempt to take over the LA Unified School District. The Weekly did point out it is “fuzzy” as to when the affair actually began, but it appears that it has been a work in progress for some time.

Sources told ERSNews.com that on three separate occasions over the past year Telemundo officials asked Salinas if she was involved with Mayor V and on all three occasions she denied it. If this report from ERSNews is true, Salinas lied. Will Kaus still stand by her? If he won’t I will, but that’s not much help given that I’m a convicted felon, busted for pimping. (Details in my book, Vanilla Slim, for those interested.) I’d say it is OK to lie when asked a question you should not have been asked. (Note: This former pimp is not above ripping off his betters. The preceding line, slightly altered, is from Michael Kinsley’s July 5 New York Times op-ed piece on Scooter Libby and Bill Clinton.) If Salinas told the truth, she’d be outing her lover. Telemundo would have to release the bombshell or they would be covering up just like…the LA Times which, as Luke pointed out, knew all along and failed to report the story.

Still, Salinas has to take responsibility for her actions, in this case, getting way too close to a powerful politician while she’s reporting on the guy. She needs to come clean on the entire affair, and that would indeed make a spectacular news special. A reprimand is in order, but not getting canned. But if she does get fired, she can always call Playboy and follow up the spread with a book deal and an HBO movie.

Mayor’s Friend & Design Innovator Sabrina Kay

From a UCLA website: "Korean born Sabrina Kay has been surrounded by the fashion industry her entire life. She was only 19 when her family immigrated to America, and despite language barriers and being a single mother, Sabrina has become the founder and CEO of the California Design College in Los Angeles, a nationally accredited and award-winning college that incorporates innovative CAD/CAM software into fashion design."

Did Mirthala Salinas Leak The News She Was Having An Affair With The Mayor?

From MayorSam:

The story goes that the "girlfriend" of a particular member of the City Council has "disclosed" that it was none other than Mirthala Salinas herself who allegedly leaked news of the affair she was having with the Mayor. Salinas’ motivation? The Mayor had allegedly already moved on to a new relationship with an unnamed Korean female developer [LF: Sabrina Kay] – and as they say "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." (One of our readers posted a similar claim.)

And apparently it was the rumored relationship with the developer – and not necessarily Salinas – that was the final straw for Corina Raigosa, prompting her to file for divorce…

Here’s a counter to the theory above on who leaked the Salinas-Villar affair. One reader alleges it was the wife of Assembly Speaker and former Salinas lover Fabian Nunez. (Of course that doesn’t necessarily excuse the alleged Korean developer.)

Mayor V may be Mirthala’s sloppy seconds in more ways than one. Records show that Salinas donated to the campaign of the Mayor’s 2001 mayoral primary opponent – Xavier Becerra – and no records of her donating to Villaraigosa at the time are coming up. Interesting in that Becerra fits her pattern too.

Here’s a good comment on MayorSam: "LA Times couldn’t scoop a story if it crashed through their front doors and smoldered for three hours in the lobby."

Here’s another good one:

Mayor Tony’s career is over. It’s not this affair but the one in 1994. Where he screwed his best friend’s wife. Who was also his campaign manager. Villaraigosa was godfather to their children, and his wife was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

Commercial:

[Black and white photo of Villaraigos, looks unflattering, "scary" music plays]

Voice: Mayor Tony’s wife was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, but Mayor Tony didn’t let that stop him. He had an affair. With his best friend’s wife. Who worked for him as his campaign manager. They had three children, and Mayor Tony was godfather to them all.

[Picture of couple, tears apart.]

Voice: After the affair, the couple split up. If even his wife and best friend can’t trust Mayor Tony, can you? Imagine how he’ll screw you.
