i’ve watching your videos and you seem a pretty open kind of alexander teacher to ask this question to.
i’ve been going to alexander technique for 5 years and i love it.
but i still get alot of fatigue between lessons.
Do you think there could ever be an alexander technique machine?
– you know, some kind of machine that could replicate some of the nice therapatic sensations you get from a real sesson?
(even a ‘percentage’ of a real lesson would be good)
I know a purist would say ‘ah you need to learn to stay free and up’ but i dont get the realise just how bad my health is!
I feel theoretically you could use biofeedback machine to work out when the muscles release and then some kind of push back via a dip in a headrest or magnetic charge to creat an A.T type machine?
what do you reckon?
you could even do a youtube video talking about it!

Drew emails: Hi Luke Ford: I just discovered David M. Hoffman via Alex Constantine publishing an article that is half composed of Hoffman’s OK City Bombing research.
I was reading your correspondence with David after he returned from Europe — and so I did a search on Peabody Massachusetts and I discovered that David M. Hoffman, age 48, of Peabody MA died in 2008.
Considering the depression he was suffering from and his suicide attempts — it seems he finally ended his life.
That is really tragic — and maybe Luke you might share any other details if you care to.
NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel…
The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”
Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O’Reilly.
He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. “He said the war with Muslims, America’s war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts,” Mr. Williams said.
NPR said in its statement that the remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”
David Kelsey writes: One of Rabbi Slifkin’s tormentors — one of the few who remains standing anyway, as many have been caught in one type of scandal or another — is rethinking whether he is helping or hurting Kiruv with his railings against Rabbi Slifkin/evolution and non-literal interpretation.
In fact, no one has helped the apikorsim more in recent years than R. Slifkin’s tormentors and the Great Rabbis who cast him into cherem. Frankly, we owe them a bit. Rabbi Slifkin may be a great scholar, but ultimately, it is the anti-science haredim who work for us, and will help shorten the misery of those who fall in, and hasten our BT not-yet-frieyah-brothers and sisters return to The Enlightenment. Many of us literally eat better thanks to the Slifkin ban’s revealing what Torah Judaism really stands for. I know I do.
So please drop by his blog, and tell him to continue to make a stand for daas Toyrah, and not let the Modern so-called Orthodox bring in their apologist narishkeit into Torah Judaism.
Remind R. Kornreich that if True Jews can simply revamp their interpretations at the drop of a hat, then maybe we have to question the whole mesorah in the first place.
RABBI RABBS EMAILS: Really? So we can assume that the overwhelming majority of rabbis that signed the following ban letter were, as Kelsey stated, “caught in one type of scandal or another”?
Take a good look at that laundry list of names, as it includes our greatest Gedolim, including Rav Yosef Shalom Eliashiv, who is considered by many to be the foremost Torah authority alive today, Rav Chaim Pinchos Scheinberg, Rav Shmuel Auerbach, and Rav Dovid Feinstein, among others, none of whom were subject to scandal.
It is reprehensible and perhaps constitutes the most grotesque form of lashon horah to smear our greatest rabbis based on the actions of a few individuals, and doing so is not different than when people that hate Catholics smear all priests as being child molesters, based on the actions of less than 1 percent of the priesthood.
I believe Kelsey needs to retract his statements, and apologize to all of the rabbis whose good names he besmirched.
He also needs to be ignored, as what he and others have done in their desperate defense of heretical books is to deflect the issue from the contents of those books to the legitimacy of some of the people that oppose them. It is the classic ad hominem attack and not different than when liberals defend their policies by attacking the personal lives of their policies’ opponents. It’s ridiculous and juvenile.

Dwell extensively on the delicious thrill of saying “Sodom” and “Sodomites.” Is West Hollywood Sodom? Would Rabbs pray to God to spare it from His wrath?

* Is the Pet Shop Boys song “It’s A Sin” about sodomy? If so, how should the Torah community respond? What if it is great dance music? Is a Torah Jew permitted to dance to songs promoting sodomy so long as he only dances with members of the same sex?

* I would’ve liked to have eaten by Avraham. He seemed most hospitable. Which hosts in Pico-Robertson most resemble Avraham? Which hosts most resemble Sodom? Which Pico-Robertson residents are most likely to commit homosexual rape? Force Rabbs to name names or he can’t watch the game (Cliff Lee vs Yankees).

If having sex with a family member was the only way you could sustain the earth, would you do it? If so, which family member would you choose?
* What kind of premium does the rabbi/Torah Jew put on virginity?
* I share the Biblical fear of drunkenness.
* Even though the Sodomites were struck blind, they still wanted to commit homo rape. (Gen. 19:11)

* Judaism is the world’s most optimistic religion. Jews are here to make the world better. Judaism is skeptical about human nature but optimistic about human potential. In Christianity and Islam and Eastern religion, the ideal is to leave this world.
On his radio show today, Dennis Prager said after interviewing black Republican candidate for Congress, Tim Scott: “When you meet conservative blacks… And I’ll compare activist to activist. The humor, the happiness, the freedom. When a black rethinks things, and this is true for anybody, but blacks in particular, when one realizes one can be the master of my life, which is what conservatism is all about, as opposed to I will wait for the government to save me, how can you not be happier as a conservative? Polls show conservatives are happier. We don’t want others to take care of us [if possible].”
“People want to be saved by government in France who are perfectly healthy and young. You are made worse by left-wing ideas.”
“You are not free at last when you depend on the government to hire you and to take care of you and to give you benefits.
“That’s why there’s a dour disposition whenever you talk to any of these black liberal politicians. Their whole personality is different.”
“Put Maxine Waters on one side and Tim Scott on the other. The woman radiates anger at America. She makes her constituents more bitter.”
