Bernie Wins Indiana

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* Hillary will be forced to campaign against Bernie a little longer. The more people see and hear Hillary talking the less they like her. She has very high negatives for a reason, it is not due to her politics as much as her personality and history of lying, such as fabricating the story about being under sniper fire when she landed in Bosnia.

* Bernie’s candidacy success has been good for Trump not because of anything in and of itself, but because Bern’s success and Trump’s success rely on a lot of the same forces and mentalities, the populist insurgent mentality. It means that populist politics were a hot iron that was ready to be struck in both parties, because populism is the national mood, not just a one party thing.

I find it curious that the two major Democrats for President this year are a former Goldwater Girl, and someone who at this moment is not an elected Democrat.

* I read the editorial as saying that Bernie has pulled Hillary to the left and that’s a good thing. It is a good thing, but not in the way that they meant it. It’s a good thing for Trump. The traditional route to the Oval Office is to seize the middle ground — if Bernie forces Hillary to the left then Trump has more middle ground to seize. He is already not very far right by Republican standards.

* Bernie is “the other side of the coin” of today, and ALL past 9 months for God’s sake. Earlier, tonight, I told my youngest son, “whoah, we are in a historic moment.” Half my family are Bernie Bros…the other; Dark Side – Trump. I have always liked “the house divided,”…always been good for Holiday conversations around the table, whether in Europe or USA. We all love to debate and eat…snow shoe/ski/ride the next day.

I miss all you guys, here, (and, some, very few girls- Unz still needs to work on that, or maybe not, whatever) and will post more late May. I wanted to say something…’cause: historic.

* Bernie’s disgruntled white guys are not the same as Trump’s disgruntled white guys. I doubt that many will cross over. However, Bernie’s disgruntled white guys may stay home because they have no desire to vote for Hillary, which is almost as good (for Trump).

* In primary after primary, looking at maps showing where they win, Hillary Clinton wins in areas with relatively strong local Democratic Party organizations. This was true in Indiana too. Sanders does alot better with independents voting in the Democratic primaries, where they are allowed to do so. In other words, Hillary Clinton is winning the machine or regular Democratic vote.

The Democratic Party is and always has been the more machine politics party compared to the Republicans, so this gets her the nomination. But her difficulty in winning independents and her complete dependence on the regulars point to her being a weak general election candidate.

In some ways Sanders is a left-wing, much more likeable version of Ted Cruz. His career shows him to be good at political strategy (remember he started his political career running and winning as a minor party candidate, which is really hard to do in this country), but to be a really unlikely politician due to his background and political views. He really shouldn’t have given Clinton this much of a challenge.

* Just as Trump mentioned tonight that people saw thru the 60,000 attack ads against him, people can also sense Hillary’s fundamental phoniness and are repelled by it, to the point that they prefer a Jewish socialist who would normally be radioactive, even in a Democrat primary.

* If Bernie wins most of the remaining states such as California and ends up with a delegate count more than Hillary’s, but loses because of the superdelegates in the tank for her, there’s going to be an explosion of fury at the Democratic party convention. I don’t see ticked-off Bernie Bros going to the polls to show up for Hillary in the general election, because they’ll be too angry with her for doing in their guy by foul means. It’ll finally dawn on the Dems that their own party rules let the traditional Smoke-Filled Room choose the candidate, right at a time period when they’d thought they’d made their party more egalitarian.

And if Hillary loses to Trump in the general, that will only convince a lot of Dems that they need to purge their party of the status quo wing if they want to see true leftism. Adding the Trump insurgency, the 1% may no longer have a party of any sort after 2016. It’ll be interesting.

* It helps Trump enormously if Bernie stays in the race. Even if he can’t possibly win, as long as he continues to have strong support, it makes Hillary look like a weak candidate. Constantly being reminded of the super-delegates issue also makes the Democrats look corrupt.

The GOP should capitalize on this moment in time to come together behind Trump and stop talking about 3rd parties and convention shananigans. They have everything to gain.

* The more Hillary talks, the happier this Bernie supporter is in the sure knowledge that she will not win. Every time she opens her mouth I see millions of dead brown civilians and thousands of dead American military pouring out. With Hil we have a 100% certainty of losing one, two, three, or more pointless new wars in the Middle East. Trump may be a wildcard, but at least there’s a chance he might say “no” to the permanent war machine running both parties.

The White Underclass

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* “And of course, the white underclass lives on welfare and it isn’t pretty. And there are Mestizo Americans who work their asses off and genuinely aren’t mooching.”

Naw, they’re just driving down wages, allowing employers to delay automation and causing education and healthcare costs to skyrocket. Oh, and they’re also destroying supply and demand signals to be completely perverted.

The white underclass, if wages, bennies, conditions etc., improve sufficiently, could and would do these jobs. It’s one of the – genuine – benefits of the free market. But having all those lazy (they can’t even be bothered to finish the free-to-them high school that’s getting thrown at them! the upwardly Jewish immigrants of yesteryear would have regarded them as lazy, squawking potatoes) Mestizos around lets them off the hook on things like labor conditions and automation.

It’s always astonishing, how many people rail against mooching and ignore the one free market incentive that would drive people into decent work and lessen the need for government benefits.

* I mentioned a couple months ago that Trump should buy all the remaining Jeb! guac bowls and have staffers stack them in a pyramid like the skulls of the vanquished.

It could still happen!

* It’s now gonna be Trump vs Media.

And Trump’s template is well-poised for this.

Media treated McCain and Romney unfairly. But McCain and Romney kept their heads up as if the referee and sports commentators were fair and professional.

The template of McCain and Romney was the Magnanimous White Man with the Presidential Style.
Privately, McCain is a hothead and Romney is a two-faced weasel, but their public persona was the straight-laced white man who would never get rough-and-tumble. Now, such style is fine IF the media were fair and objective. But the media are not. When the referee is crooked, it has to called out.

And Trump’s template from the beginning was un-presidential. Populist and Macho. fight fire with fire.
He began the campaign calling counter-foul on the media that calls more fouls on the White GOP Man.
Media foul-calls have gotten so BS that Trump needs to go with Megyn Kelly Option.
Fight Back.

His theme has to be Hillary + Media = collusion. He should call it just that. Collusion.
Trump appealed to GOP voters by playing the tough guy going against the collusion of establishment + Bushes + Cruz + Kasich + media + pundits + neocons + etc.

Also, Trump is better poised than previous GOP candidates to play the identity card. He can position himself as the candidate of middle class/working class, citizens, and patriots against Hillary who is for illegals, urban elites, and globalist oligarchs.
If Hillary plays the Women Card, he should say her foreign policy favored crazy Muslim radicals against secular government and made things less safe for women by encouraging illegal immigration.

Trump should blow the cover on what happened in 2008 and expose how the media to do the same for Hillary.

This may make media work even harder against him, but it may also fire up people against the media that is just a propaganda tool. Trump can also say he fought Fox News too and much of Talk Radio.
Americans like fair play, and if Trump plays this right, he can get much sympathy.

He just mustn’t melt down like Mckenroe. Trump needs to do it like a circus and have fun with it.

It’s The Immigration, Stupid!

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* In 1992, we had Buchanan and Perot. Disdained by the powerful, and regrettably defeated.

Now we have the best of those two men in one.

The Democrats have lost the monopoly on identity politics.

* What is interesting is that the Democrats are perfectly comfortable assembling a coalition that is fifty percent plus one. I suppose it is because if you are the spoils party you don’t want more than what is necessary on your side since it splits up the pie into too many pieces.

The GOP acts like fifty percent plus one is a loser. America First if pushed correctly could easily get the necessary numbers to win. We don’t need the entire electorate.

* Only a tiny minority of Americans have ever heard of any controversy about
“America First”.
An even smaller fraction actually have a problem with it.
On its face, it is an obvious position for US
to take both domestically and internationally and one most Americans intuitively agree with.
It is a winner for Trump.
I wonder if Trump is aware of its pedigree?

* The lesson is clear: we need another McCain or Romney. The “keeping one eye at democrats to see if they approve” method just hasn’t been tried sufficiently enough.

* Democratic operative’s response to Trump wrapping up the nomination:

* Americans vs America does personalize it.
It also suggests there is no animus against immigrants who are legal(citizens), many of whom must be against the wanton disregard for the law that has occurred for past few decades.

* I don’t get this hatred directed against the America First movement.

Also, does anyone ever notice that taking an anti-war stance is only celebrated when liberals do it? When liberals are against a war, it is because they are good people who don’t want others to suffer. But when conservatives are against a war, it is because they are selfish people who don’t care that others are suffering.

* Just as majority white America had no problem choosing a black man as President, I’m sure that majority people of color America will have no problem choosing white men to lead them. Neera really gives me comfort that nonwhites will run this country in a colorblind fashion.

Methinks Ned, Jon, Neera, etc. doth protest too much. If they have nothing to worry about from that horrible awful racis’ Trump, why do they sound worried?

* I pray that the Democrats keep pushing sex politics, open borders, foreign wars, and the coalition of the fringes.

I pray that Bernie keeps running and winning the People’s votes.

I pray that Hillary wields her Ninja superdelegates and wins the nomination.

And most of all I pray that the Dems and Pubs explode into a billion scintillating shards.

The bigger and sooner the crash, the better.

* Why not “Americans First” instead of “America First?”

* That’s genius. Hope Trump takes that idea.

Related, Dougherty on America First:

* And as the white vote becomes useless, so will the infrastructure that whites built and maintain. See Detroit.

* Dave, isn’t it amazing that she mentions three decades? That is a long time. Yes, I know it appears to be baked into our future cake, but after possibly the largest mass migration in history, they still need another three decades to seal the deal.

Just think about what this implies. We have had fifty years of immigration liberalization for non-Europeans. And even after fifty years of record setting levels of immigration, this little lady reminds us to just wait for another three decades. Her implication is that we, meaning Europeans, will regret it.

If that is the case, which I think it is, then isn’t it strange that we still permit unprecedented levels of such immigration?

* Yes, it would be most fortunate if people of color become the majority. Look at all the model nation states and cities run by people of the color.

* My heart kvells when Hindu supremacists speak in explicitly racial terms. Their honesty is refreshing.

* The degree to which the American educated and professional classes doubled down on mass migration by non-white people to the US, and apparently to Europe as well, is really amazing. I just don’t remember the same degree of enthusiasm thirty years ago.

And there is absolutely no need for it. Populations everywhere are considerably (3x to 4x) higher than they were in the 1876-1924 years. The United States is settled and developed. There is no need to bring anyone in, and a considerable environmental argument against it. Advances in automation tech have made massive amounts of unskilled labor literally redundant.

But the thing is these people literally can’t imagine why anyone would object to mass migration. So they don’t understand Trump at all. They just assume he will lose in a landslide (very unlikely unless the election is stolen), or minimize this element of his appeal.

Its like someone in the Japanese elite in the 1930s not understanding why anyone would think something could go wrong with the attempt to turn China into a Japanese colony.

Salon: Ann Coulter’s flirting with white supremacists again: Even she should know better than to retweet certain people

It’s nice of them to be so concerned for her well-being.

Salon: Ann Coulter reacted to the news of Texas Senator Ted Cruz pulling out of the race for the Republican nomination with all the class one would expect:

Coulter took particular pleasure in gently toying with Steve Sailer, though to what end wasn’t entirely clear:

Especially when one considers that she later retweeted praise from the organization with which Sailer’s affiliated. Maybe she was simply a little too giddy from the news of Cruz’s demise? Whatever the reason, she opted to retweet praise from a source she really should know better than to accept praise from:

That would the official account of VDARE, the white supremacist website named after the the girl who was allegedly the first white child born in the Americas.

As for its relation to Sailer, following Hurricane Katrina, he published an article on the site arguing that African-Americans need more guidance than other races, comparing their behavior after that natural disaster to that of the Japanese after the 1995 Kobe earthquake. There was little looting after it because, in Sailer’s words, “when you get down to it, Japanese aren’t blacks.”

And Then There Was One—And He Means What He Says About Immigration

Ann Coulter writes: A guy just won the Republican nomination for president by spending no money, hiring no pollsters, running virtually no TV ads, and just saying what he truly believed no matter how many times people told him he couldn’t say that.

I always hoped I’d see this once before I died. It’s like to going to Mecca, for Americans. Pay attention, because it’s the last time we’re going to see it in our lifetimes.

For those of you not yet on the Trump Train, I know you don’t want to vote for Hillary, but all the pundits have been trying to convince you that Trump’s a complete fraud. (That was between their smug assurances that he wouldn’t make it out of Iowa.)

It’s odd. When Trump launched his campaign by talking about Mexican rapists and the wall, his critics hysterically denounced him, rushing to TV to say he did NOT represent the Republican Party! Only after it became resoundingly clear that large majorities of Americans agreed with Trump did his critics try a new tack: He doesn’t believe it!

That’s what my friend Andy McCarthy at the now-defunct National Review wrote recently.[ Trump Would Press the Agenda That Drove His Voters from the GOP, April 30, 2016] I had to spend the weekend figuring out how to attack a friend without saying, “This is the most retarded argument I’ve ever read.”

Here goes: This was not Andy’s best effort.

Of all the arguments that could be made against Trump, McCarthy settled on: I don’t trust him on immigration. (I’d love to have been a fly on the wall at that pitch meeting.)

He bases this claim on a remark Trump made as a businessman four years ago in which he regurgitated the official GOP line about Romney—and which was being stated as fact 1 million times a day on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.

To wit, Trump told Newsmax that Mitt Romney “had a crazy policy of self-deportation which was maniacal,” adding, “He lost all of the Latino vote … he lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.”

It is strange that Trump would denounce “self-deportation,” which is like a chocolate sundae compared to his own plans for illegals.

But to give you the tenor of the interview, Trump went on to promote “Celebrity Apprentice,” note that he had just bought the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., and boast about his recently acquired Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and Spa in Jupiter, Fla.—”which is a phenomenal area.”

Read on.

No To Trump Because Holocaust

Many of my Jewish friends won’t vote for Trump because Holocaust. Because the Holocaust shows what happens when you try to blame minorities for your problems.

Another Jewish friend says: Perhaps your friends are sincere, but I am more cynical. There are some who see Trump as a nascent Nazi based on his policies regarding illegal immigration and Muslims, but anyone who understands anything about Nazi Germany realizes there is no analogous behavior.

I read yesterday that law professor David Bernstein who has been a contributor to the Volokh Conspiracy for years, and in my opinion is an Israel Firster, has indicated he will support Hillary Clinton.

He is not the first nor the last Jewish NeoConservative to support Clinton over Trump. What is the reason for this since for years they have attacked Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Barack Obama on the grounds they are not sufficiently sympathetic to Israel. During this time they have praised George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, and now in this cycle virtually all the Republican presidential aspirants except Trump and Rand Paul. They claim to be conservative, but the overriding political concern is not ideology but fealty to Israel.

I think their unwillingness to support Trump and to support Clinton rests on the following:

When Trump says he will follow a policy that supports American interests, they realize that their rhetoric that unyielding support for Israel is in America’s best interest, is in fact untrue. Once Americans actually realize that America and Israel have divergent interests and that what is best for one is not necessarily best for the other they fear that will lead to a groundswell of anti-Israel policies.

When Trump says that he will make allies pay more of the costs of American support, this will impinge on Israel since it is not a third world nation, has a thriving computer and biotech sector, yet is the largest recipient of Ameican aid. This aid will go and Israel may be asked to pay for part of American military stationed at or near the Mediterrean and/or Persian Gulf.

Obama was notoriously (at least in public) non reactive and calm when insults and slings and arrows were directed at him. Trump is notoriously thin skinned. The supporters of Israel realize that if Netanyahu had done to Trump what Netanyahu did to Obama, Trump would punish him. He would not allow Netanyahu to actively work to undermine a strategic deal he was working on, such as the Iran deal. He wouldn’t stand for Netanyahu speaking to congress without clearing it with him first, and he wouldn’t let him upstage and insult him at a press conference. Clinton would take it and not take it out on Israel. Trump just might.

Daily Caller Interviews The Man Behind The Twitter Handle ‘Conservative Pundit’

From the Daily Caller:

Put in the voice of a hypothetical National Review writer who believes Democrats are the real racists, Mr. Pundit tweets out his thoughts on a wide variety of issues.

Here’s a sampling of some of his latest tweets:

The Daily Caller was fortunate enough to track down the man behind the account — who wished to remain unidentified — to find out what inspired him to start the account and why he’s driven to satirize the poor souls who can’t stop tweeting #NeverTrump.

The DC: What was the inspiration for the Conservative Pundit account?

Conservative Pundit: I started it one night on a whim and didn’t really expect it to take off like it has, so maybe “inspiration” is a little strong. But I did create it out of a general sense of frustration with the ineffectiveness of, well, conservative punditry.

I guess a lot of that frustration emerges from my conviction that the Left hasn’t had an original thought in years. They’ve hit an intellectual dead end, and rather than re-assessing their theories they’ve instead contented themselves for the past couple decades in finding increasingly nonsensical and bizarre applications for those theories. Like a great big hunt for the next “systemic oppression” to write a Slate article about. It’s a movement that’s culminating in things like mass campus hysteria over a poop swastika and solemn thinkpieces in defense of rioting and arson. That’s the kind of stuff their intellectual vanguard is up to.

Trump Kicks Ass

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* It’s funny to remember that during the McCain kerfuffle some smart pundits said Trump had jumped the shark. They didn’t realize Trump’s honesty was part of his appeal.

Trump grew up hearing about war heroes who kicked ass, like Audie Murphy. Vietnam had them too, men like Roy Benavidez. McCain wasn’t that kind of war hero: he wasn’t a hero for kicking ass; he was a war hero for stoically getting his ass kicked.

And McCain used the coin of that suffering to repeatedly try to screw over the Republican base. It was great to see Trump take him down a peg.

Trump performed a similar service with the Bushes. Before Trump, a Republican couldn’t come out and say W. was a complete disaster. You had to qualify the disaster in Iraq by saying, “at least he kept us safe”. Trump heard Jeb say that and reminded him that W. was president during the civilian version of Pearl Harbor.

Trump has been the enema the GOP needed. He didn’t just beat Jeb, Rubio, and Cruz. He exposed them. None of them has a shot at running for POTUS again. They probably won’t even try.

* I’ve thought since the 1980s that Trump is pretty much the perfect surname to turn into a brand name–so good that I had to remind myself that the actual Trump Tower or whatever wasn’t as good as the name made you think it must be.

* The Germans did not “lure” the Italians into WW2. Mussolini happily jumped in, against Hitler’s wishes, when he thought the war was safely won and almost over. Germany had to keep rescuing Italy from Mussolini’s blunders in the Balkans and in North Africa. Without those diversions Germany would have had a much better concentration of forces on the eastern front.

Crevasses in the Classroom

Steve Sailer writes: From my new column in Taki’s Magazine about a huge new database of school achievement test scores that answers the old question: Is there any single place in America where blacks (0r Hispanics) outscore whites on cognitive tests?

Crevasses in the Classroom
by Steve Sailer
May 04, 2016

Where are racial gaps in school test scores worst? Ironically, where liberals are most dominant.

The new national database of school-district test scores created by education researchers at Stanford and Harvard reveals that the single widest white-black racial gap in American public school districts is in the city most synonymous with leftism since 1964: Berkeley, California.

How badly do blacks lag whites in Berkeley public schools? Berkeley’s white-black gap is 1.60 standard deviations. In other words, the median black student would score at only the 5th percentile if he were white.

Yet, Berkeley is ferociously antiracist. It was the first to have a Black Studies Department at the high school level. In the 2012 election, Berkeley voted for Obama over Romney 90 to 5. Berkeley Unified school-district administrators obsess over any data showing that black students get punished more than other races.

Still, the racial gap is bigger in Berkeley than anywhere else. …

The worst white-black gaps tend to be found in old-money liberal towns like Berkeley, Chapel Hill, Shaker Heights, Asheville, and Evanston (the five worst examples of racial inequality in America according to the new Stanford test score database) that can afford a lot of liberal white guilt, which attracts black welfare moms.

Read the whole thing there.

The examples where NAMs score above or just below whites are pretty funny.

I also point out the school district where blacks and Hispanics score highest in all of America, which is pretty ironic.

I love writing these kind of articles where I take an academic’s database, re-sort it, and point out what’s really going on.

COMMENTS:

* In the dark days of the 19th century, when women and minorities were hunted for sport and everybody was wrong about everything, a situation being exactly the same all over the world would have led to scientific conclusions.

* OT, but today’s print UK Guardian features an 8-page souvenir pullout on 5,000-1 outsiders Leicester City winning the English Premier League (footy/soccer).

* In order to make sense of the gaps, you have to look at race AND social class. So in a place where you have high class whites and low class minorities you are going to have a large gap, in a place where you have low class whites and low class minorities you’ll have a smaller gap. In a new city like Frisco where everyone is more or less middle class, the gap will be somewhere in between.

The reason that Berkeley does even worse with black students than a place like Philadelphia is that they are trying to teach blacks in unstructured white liberal learning style. This doesn’t even work that well for whites, but for blacks it is disastrous. I’m sure that they also put the blacks in the same classes as whites out of anti-racism so the black students are unable to keep up with the pace and fall hopelessly behind.

Once they get to the high school level and the hormones kick in, Philadelphia schools are pretty rough places, but at the elementary school level they have made some progress by imposing structure on the kids, especially in the “charter schools”. Most of the public schools require uniforms and they break the material down to a level that blacks can hope to understand, etc. The elementary schools at least are surprisingly orderly places. They are never going to turn out rocket scientists because of the raw material that they have to work with, but they do teach a certain basic level of literacy.

What were the odds against President Trump 2016 at the start of the campaign? I’m looking forward to the Guardian’s souvenir pullout already.

* So you want to take issue with the hate fact promulgated by the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education, whose chart Steve has published in the past, showing that blacks students from families with yearly incomes over $200K have LOWER test scores than white kids with family incomes under $40K?

* “A practice of Gypsy hunting was quite common—a game very similar to fox hunting. Even as late as 1835, there was a Gypsy hunt in Jutland (Denmark) that brought in a bag of over 260 men, women and children.”

—Gypsies of the White Mountains: History of a Nomadic Culture

* I think a lot of educators instinctively know this even if it is never vocalized – hence the hatred of No Child Left Behind and the goal of getting minority students to perform the same on standardized tests as white kids. They knew this would be an impossible goal to realize and that teachers are a convenient scapegoat for underperforming kids, rather than their parents or communities.

I seem to recall a few years back DC proposed abandoning equalizing white and black test scores and just focus on how much of a percentage increase black students could achieve over past benchmarks. It was accompanied with the usual comments about privilege, private tutors, and so on (I honestly don’t know any parents who use private tutors), but it was a surprisingly realistic perspective about what is possible.

* A lot of BHS alums in my family. The first issue is that Berkeley is naturally going to be the public school district for all of the faculty (and grad students and post docs with children) at UC Berkeley (Cal), which is right up the street. It’s also home to a large number of intellectual-High IQ types who work in San Francisco, or wherever (Michael Chabon, doctors, lawyers, CEO’s, CFO’s, etc.) These people are vastly white.

On the other hand, there are neighborhoods to the west near the bay and south leading into Oakland and this is where the black students come from. The area to the West is where there was a Portuguese community (Billy Martin grew up there), but that was supplanted by Latinos and Blacks a long time ago, and the main N-S drag in that part of town, San Pablo, was where the hookers and pimps hung out, catching all the traffic from Richmond down to Oakland (IIRC, the blaxploitation movie, “The Mack” was largely shot there.)

The neighborhoods to the south that bleed into Oakland — remember, there is no barrier or anything, it’s just that at some point in the grid you are no longer in Berkeley, you are in Oakland — used to be a location for a lot of poor blacks also. (The word I get from the West Coast now is that there’s a lot of gentrification all over).

Since the pre-HS schools are mostly locally fed, there probably isn’t a lot of integration in the schools at that level, as a matter of fact. There isn’t such a tradition at the HS, either. Basically what used to happen is that blacks and whites were put on separate academic tracks, so they rarely took the same classes, unless someone went out of their way to cross over. Friends who taught there within the past 20 years or so indicate that this bifurcation simply got more pronounced, Disraeli’s “two nations” comes to mind.

* Honest teachers from diverse districts will tell you Steve is, of course, correct in his interpretation of this data. They endure all the crap programs and unfair evaluations thrown at them in the expectation that natural gaps can be closed. They also have to put up with “vibrant” discipline problems without much backup from politically correct (and often corrupt) administrations. Can’t have “disparate impact” on expulsion numbers, you know.

I have another, related subject:

Even in homogenous white school districts, there is another crevasse teachers are expected to cross: that between “special needs” kids and the rest of the class. Affluent districts, like the one where I live, throw more money every year at the ludicrous idea of “inclusion,” and we pay for it with our outrageous, ever-increasing, property taxes.

The insane idea that everyone is an equivalent blank slate is costing us billions of dollars and robbing students of the opportunity to learn at their own, appropriate levels. It’s also driving good teachers nuts!

It’s all the same, half-century-old, left-wing bullshit — and it’s killing us.

* Berkeley, Chapel Hill, Shaker Heights, Asheville, and Evanston are all university towns: so what that will mean is that the (mostly non-black) universities will strongly bias against the black population.

Why that isn’t an issue in Cambridge, Mass., New Haven, CT, etc. I do not know, probably a zoning issue. I know that most of the Ivy League colleges are sequestered from large minority populations simply by where they are. (Not U Penn, though: but Philly, like New York, is huge.)

O/T but can’t resist: How can any Republican actively support Hillary for president? Impossible, I think. The fact that the National Review is asking for donations because Trump “hates them” just shows that NR is now fully functional irrelevant.

* I love the various school test scores databases. As I explain to liberals, school teachers are not only racist, they are active participants in the largest secret racist conspiracy in the USA.

In the 16000 school systems in America, not a single one–NOT ONE–shows black test scores greater than white test scores. Since “all men are created equal”, the odds of this happening by chance are infinitesimally small.

It must be intentional and it must be coordinated. There is no other explanation.

And then I tell them I will give them $100 if they can find one single school district where blacks score higher than whites.

[There is one city. As best I remember, in a 20+city study of urban schools conducted 10-20 years ago, Detroit black boys scored higher than Detroit white boys.]

* The “average white person” in this country has an IQ of 100. The average black person in this country has a IQ of 85. That’s a hell of a difference. No one has said the average black or white is a “total idiot” or that the average black or white is “dumb.”

What has been said and what IS true is that the mean (or average) in cognitive abilities between population groups differ–that, therefore, there IS a gap one can expect to see in achievement in schools and that we’ve spent time, money, and talent trying to do the impossible, make the damn gap go away so that good little anti-science “Progressives” (god, what a name), can feel better about everybody being the same, or they say, “equal.”

Yeah, as you suggested, “average” ain’t all that bright, but a hell of a lot of average folks have been productive citizens and taxpayers throughout our history. You must also understand that some averages are MUCH higher than others. In other words, averages aren’t “equal.”

Schools would be better if we understood we can achieve some things with “average” and “below average”; we could start by understanding that the more “average” and “below average” kids are, the more structure they need, not less, as stupid anti-science sorts would have you believe.

* The national average racial gap between whites vs. blacks & Hispanics is 2 grade levels, to give you a sense of scale.

So if you figure that the school age population is around 1/2 white, 1/2 other, that means that the average white kid would be around 1 grade level above the average of all races. So the white kids in Berkeley are ANOTHER 1.7 grade levels ahead of the average white kid. If you figure that the average white kid in Berkeley is the child of a professor or other educated professional, this is not impossible. Figure that these kids are either actual Ashkenazi Jews or about as smart as average Ashkenazi Jews – they are a group that is roughly as far ahead of whites in intelligence as whites are of blacks. Because Jews are such a small segment of the population, 3 out of 4 smart people will still be non-Jewish on average.

* I don’t think liberal old money towns have been all that welcoming of poor blacks in the last 30 years or so, but they’re stuck with the descendants of the ones their grandparents welcomed in more optimistic times.

* I seriously doubt if Mexico will ever annex its former territories, because if it did, it would be in as bad shape as the rest of Mexico within a couple of decades. I don’t think the Mexicans want that, and I don’t think the illegal immigrant Mexicans want that, either.

Remember, these Mexicans are not coming to the US in order to squat for reconquista. They are coming here because they can make actual money here, have a decent life here, get social benefits that actually function properly, have an environment where they are physically much safer, and have a better future. It’s like a black couple moving out of the ghetto into a white suburb: they aren’t doing this to be the expeditionary force for some colony ghetto, they are moving there to get away from the ghetto.

* Having been a public school teacher in both Detroit and Richmond CA (just up the road from Berkeley), and currently a teacher in truly one of the nation’s most diverse districts anywhere, I count myself as an absolute authority on all things public schooley:

Chaldean-Americans (Middle-Eastern Iraqi Christians with an incredible amount of ethnocentric tribalism and Old-World conspiracy-mongering thrown in) make up a huge part of the “whites” of Detroit, Sterling Heights and West Bloomfield.

Hard-working at the store or business (open late, much to the academic detriment of the teenage sons who are expected to close the cell-phone store or the liquor store), the Chaldean community is the future of America, I think. Not terribly interested in the kind of effort for real academic achievement, but certainly interested in learning enough to get by.

The girls are usually quite attractive and generally sociable. Many cultures do much worse in protecting their young women from unwanted attention. Chaldean girls do not suffer any unwanted pregnancies. No way. It does not happen, and that is refreshing, given the crude sexual advances that many young black men make toward the black girls.

Most of the boys are quite confident and happy to be in America. If we are looking for a “model” minority, we could do a lot worse than Chaldean-Americans. If they are the future, and maybe they are, then things will be OK.

Not great, just OK.

But, with 4 billion Africans looming on the horizon of the next generation, well, maybe “OK” will have to do.

* And the systemic test cheating in Atlanta has been flushed down the memory hole.
