Washington Post: Michael Brown remembered as teen who was ‘going to shake the world’

Michael Brown was not going to change the world. He could barely graduate from high school. To change the world for the good, you need an IQ north of 120, something that few blacks have. Mohammed Ali was perhaps the greatest sportsman of the 20th Century. His IQ was 78 and he was illiterate, so, yes, you can be a terrific entertainer with a low IQ, but you can’t cure cancer or design a better computer without a high IQ.

From the New York Times:

Mr. Brown was not the best student. “His grades were kind of edgy,” Michael Brown Sr. said. “That’s why I said I had to keep my foot on his neck to keep him on track.”

In his senior year, Mr. Brown was a few credits short. He was enrolled in the school’s credit recovery program, which allows students to work at their own pace to try to catch up.

“It seemed like Mike was probably the person that was the most serious in that class about getting out of Normandy, about graduating,” said Terrence Hamilton, the Normandy athletic director.

After graduating in May, Mr. Brown talked to Mr. Lewis about getting a job at the grocery store where Mr. Lewis worked. He also planned to pursue heating and cooling technician courses at a technical college.

He was an avid video game player. His favorite games were Call of Duty Zombies and PlayStation Home, a simulation game in which he created an avatar and a city.

REPORT:

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher? No.

Major General Harold “Harry” Green, United States Army? No.

Thug, strong arm robber, and police officer assaulter Mike Brown? You betcha!

While Prime Minister Thatcher and Major General Greene apparently didn’t merit any direct representation from the Obama administration, Mike Brown’s funeral will include three members of the presidents administration including a the head of a cabinet level agency.

As reported by the Washington Post,

“According to a White House official, Broderick Johnson, who heads the White House’s My Brother’s Keeper Task Force, will attend the service along with Marlon Marshall, a St. Louis native who attended high school with Brown’s mother. Heather Foster, who works with Marshall in the White House Office of Public Engagement, will also be in the pews at Brown’s funeral.”

In comparison, Prime Minister Thatcher’s delegation did not include a single member of the President’s staff nor did it include any of the President’s Cabinet level leaders. Major General Greene’s funeral famously included no representation from the Administration as the team was busy on the back 9 with the President.

I don’t think we should infer anything racial from the Suge Knight shootings at the Chris Brown party because when Esa-Pekka Salonen and Gustavo Dudamel run into each other, that always leads to gun fights too. Remember when all the Beatles suffered bullet wounds that time they ran into the Rolling Stones at a club? ‪

The Terrible Beauty Of The Evil Man

The first time I was given a link to this memoir by Finis Leavell Beauchamp about his conversion to Orthodox Judaism from evangelical Christianity, and I saw the cover and the title, I wanted to keep the book at arm’s length. It just seemed too intense.

A few weeks later, I read the summary version of the book on Aish.com, and the whole time I was reading, I was leaning back inside to remove myself from the fire of the writing.

The title on the Aish story was “The Christian Defector.” I had never thought about leaving Christianity as defection. I thought about Cold War spies leaving the Allies for the Soviet Union as defectors. This is a story of life on a whole new level.

When I read a book, I imagine myself in the place of every character, particularly the protagonist. In this story, Finis begins with an exorcism. This rings a bell. I also had Christians close to me suggest I was demon-possessed and that perhaps an exorcism with a Catholic priest might be just the thing I needed most.

I’ve never encountered a Jew who worried much about demons and the devil.

Finis describes his grandfather Landrum Pinson Leavell II as so “forcefully erudite and intellectually creative, that over his career he was elected president…of one of the largest Christian seminaries in the world.” This reminds me of my dad.

I Google my dad and the first Google suggestion next to his name is “theology.”

Finis writes: “I was heir to the great princes of our faith, the one predicted to rise to my grandfather’s place.”

I know the feeling. I was the child most like our father.

“And it was whispered in my ear by my mother, and teachers, and even by strangers on those trips, that… I would be far greater than he. I would be the last hero of our faith, one sent by God to gather up the last souls before the judgment.”

Like Finis, I too developed a crippling narcissism.

With phrases such as “evil sentient metaphysical entities,” Terrible Beauty is the most over-written book I’ve read since Look Homeward Angel. It is southern gothic.

According to Wikipedia: “Common themes in Southern Gothic literature include deeply flawed, disturbing or eccentric characters who may or may not dabble in hoodoo,[1] ambivalent gender roles and decayed or derelict settings,[2] grotesque situations, and other sinister events relating to or coming from poverty, alienation, crime and violence. While the tales in literature can be set among various classes, the decay of the southern aristocracy and the setting of the plantation are the usual settings for southern gothic tales in the popular mind.”

Finis’s dad learned his oratory from Adolf Hitler. When Finis would cry as an infant, his dad would suffocate him with a pillow. His mother beat him several times a day.

In eighth grade, Finis makes the common mistake of asking his mom what a clit is and whether it could be six inches.

I race through his book, enjoying the story but hating the writing. What type of person inflicts this on an innocent reader? “Certainly I, a mere freshman in high school, though resilient, could not forever withstand the myriad horrors that seemed structurally integral to my every waking hour.”

When the author tells his story, I love it. When he gets literary, I hate it.

Finis careens from disaster to disaster, much like I did in my 20s. An older Jewish man befriends him, just like Jules Zentner did to me. The older Jewish man attempts to have sex with him, just like Jules attempted with me.

I finished the book in one sitting of seven hours, skimming the philosophical and literary bits.

* His writing style is a bit show offish to me, like constant big words he uses for no other reason than to show that he can write big words.

* Also, why is there zero online trace of him other than his book? A little peculiar.

What Happens When You Ordain Women?

A friend writes: “Yesterday we visited a SDA church where boys and girls and men and women led in equally effective and comfortable ways. I was ashamed as I simultaneously watched this and thought about the thousands of pages and even more hours and dollars we have spent debating whether God can use men and women equally in the life of the church. It is already happenning! We are arguing about whether airplanes can fly generations after the Wright brothers lived and died.”

We can study what happens to religions and communities when no special rituals are reserved for men. Men drop out, whether it is Kiwanis club or religion. The SDA church is already two-thirds women. Ordain women and that percentage will move north of 70% and men will seek out places where they can be with only men such as strip clubs and cigar lounges.

When Jews Discriminate Against Non-Jews

We all know what “anti-semitism” means, but what is the term for when Jews discriminate against non-Jews? Or when religious Jews move into a neighborhood and non-religious Jews and non-Jews feel slighted or dismissed or marginalized?

For instance, 90035 has become an increasingly Orthodox neighborhood over the past 30 years (even though the Orthodox account for no more than 25% of its residents). I have non-Jewish friends who’ve walked into kosher restaurants and stores and felt everyone staring at them. Many secular Jews and non-Jews don’t like it when religious Jews walk in groups down the middle of a street pushing strollers on the Sabbath and Jewish holidays, only greeting each other and ignoring secular Jews and non-Jews. What about non-Jews and secular Jews who don’t like it when circumcision is the norm because of the influence of Jewish doctors. What if the goyim don’t like it when public schools take off Jewish holidays? Or when the local library branch changes its hours to accommodate Orthodox Jews?

What about non-Jews who don’t like it that much of America’s politics revolves around varying degrees of support for Israel? What if they see it as not in America’s best interests to be so closely aligned with Israel? What if they don’t like the results of Jewish influence in the media and Hollywood?

Steve Sailer wrote:

What should be the proper term for when non-Jews feel hurt by Jews?

I wonder why that is. Could it have anything to do with the disproportionate number of Jewish intellectuals who are still resentful that America did not take in more Jews during the 1930s?

Sailer wrote:

…the importance of extra-rational charisma in the appeal of egomaniacal, messianic intellectuals like Marx and Freud to younger Jewish students. Said another Gentile observer:

All of which does make me ever-so-slightly sympathetic to the idea that these brilliant Jews give out advice that’s almost designed to cripple the people it’s given to. All the while claiming it’s for everyone’s good, and charging a pretty penny for doing so. I could never accuse them of being anything but well-meaning. But I had to learn to see through the posing, the fiery eyes, and the preaching….

Many of the Jewish radical kids went on to do very well for themselves.

Psychologist Byron M. Roth reviewed Richard Lynn’s 2011 book The Chosen People: A Study of Jewish Intelligence and Achievement:

In general, Jews do not differ in any appreciable way from Gentiles in the things they value, with one exception: They have a greater desire to achieve economic and social success, that is to say, they are high in “achievement motivation.” Professor Lynn suggests that, like many personality variables, this may have a partly genetic basis “brought about through having been selected by eugenic customs, persecution, and discrimination.”

Is it good for Jews and good for the world that Jews as a group may not be criticized in polite conversation?

Sailer wrote:

To quantify the statement that “Jews are a small group, but influential in their areas of concentration,” in 2009, the Atlantic Monthly came up with a list of the top 50 opinion pundits: half are of Jewish background.

Over 1/3rd of the 2009 Forbes 400 are of Jewish background, according to the Jewish Telegraph Agency’s reporter who covers Jewish philanthropy.

Joel Stein of the LA Times found in 2007 that people of Jewish background hold a large majority of the most powerful positions in Hollywood.

This is not to say that influential Jews are at all united in what they favor. On the other hand, it is more or less true that Jews hold something of a veto over what topics are considered appropriate for discussion in the press, Jewish influence itself being the most obvious example of a topic that is off the table in polite society.

John Derbyshire wrote: “I can absolutely assure you that anyone who made general, mildly negative, remarks about Jews would NOT—not ever again—be published in the Wall Street Journal opinion pages, The Weekly Standard, National Review, The New York Sun, The New York Post, or The Washington Times. I know the actual people, the editors, involved here, and I can assert this confidently.”

Stephen Steinlight wrote in 2001: “I am also familiar with the classic, well-honed answer to this tension anytime this phenomenon is cited: Israel and America are both democracies; they share values; they have common strategic interests; loyalty to one cannot conceivably involve disloyalty to the other, etc., etc. All of which begs huge questions, including an American strategic agenda that extends far beyond Israel, and while it may be true in practice most of the time, is by no means an absolute construct, devoid of all sort of potential exceptions. I say all this merely to remind us that we cannot pretend we are only part of the solution when we are also part of the problem; we have no less difficult a balancing act between group loyalty and a wider sense of belonging to America. That America has largely tolerated this dual loyalty — we get a free pass, I suspect, largely over Christian guilt about the Holocaust — makes it no less a reality.”

‘The Image Of The Good Jew In Lakeview’

Jewish sociologist Marshal Sklare published this powerful 1993 essay.

Jewish academic Sylvia Barak Fishman wrote: “Giving an actual suburb a fictitious name to protect its privacy, Sklare found that American Jews valued most highly those aspects of Jewish tradition that were consonant with American culture of a particular kind: well-educated, liberal, socially concerned, non-violent. Sklare’s subjects consisted of primarily of Reform and some Conservative informants. These middle-American Jews felt very strongly that a Jew should be proud of being a Jew, partly because acknowledging one’s origins and having feelings of pride and dignity about one’s ancestry are deeply ingrained American characteristics.”

Are these deeply ingrained characteristics for all Americans or just for those Americans who do not identify as white? Are white Americans encouraged to feel pride and dignity in being of European ancestry as opposed to African or Latin or Oriental ancestry?

Jared Taylor writes in his 2011 book White Identity: “This book is about racial identity, something most people who are not white take for granted. They come to it early, feel it strongly, and make no apologies for it.”

“Most whites do not have a racial identity, but they would do well to understand what race means for others. They should also ponder the consequences of being the only group for whom such an identity is forbidden and who are permitted no aspirations as a group.”

“It thus makes no difference if a neigh­borhood or nation becomes non-white or if white children marry outside their race. Whites have no valid group interests, so it is illegitimate for them to attempt to organize as whites. Given the past crimes of whites, any ex­pression of racial pride is wrong. The displacement of whites by non-whites through immigration will strengthen the United States.”

“Racial identity comes naturally to all non-white groups. It comes natu­rally because it is good, normal, and healthy to feel kinship for people like oneself. … All people of the same race are more closely re­lated genetically than they are to anyone of a different race, and this helps explain racial solidarity.”

“Families are close for the same reason. Parents love their children, not because they are the smartest, best-looking, most talented children on earth. They love them because they are genetically close to them. They love them because they are a family. … Most people have similar feelings about race. . … Non-whites understand this. Blacks call each other `brother` and `siter.` … Whites used to understand this. In fact, at some level they still do—their actions betray them.”

“These mystic preferences need not imply hostility towards others. Par­ents may have great affection for the children of others, but their own chil­dren come first.”

As Steve Sailer notes: “The true White Man`s Burden turns out to be his intellectual distaste for reality, his need to believe in universal principles, even (or especially) when they are conspicuously counterfactual. The more disastrous your ideals, the more pure your heart must be and the more evil your doubters.”

Sailer adds:

Nevertheless, an explicit white identity movement is unlikely to be tolerated. It`s not so much that blacks, Asians, and Hispanics don`t want this to happen. None of these groups are really all that powerful. Blacks tend to be colorful but not too competent; East Asians competent but colorless; Latinos culturally lethargic and unenterprising.

No, the much more serious roadblock to the emergence of white identity politics: more Jews don`t want it to happen than do want it to happen.

Many Jews have strong reasons for their aversion to white identity politics, either irrational (the Cossacks are coming!) or rational (what`s in it for me?).

Perhaps Taylor can persuade enough Jews to get onboard to make white identity respectable in the MSM and thus with the media`s consumers, the public. He`s striven manfully and graciously over the years to make Jews feel welcome in his movement and many Jews have written for American Renaissance.

Recall that neoconservatism emerged in the late 1960s, largely due to Jewish shopkeepers` fear of black crime and Jewish civil servants` fear of being fired by black politicians. Brilliant Jewish intellectuals like Nathan Glazer and Norman Podhoretz took their relatives` complaints seriously.

Still, over time, Jews mostly figured out it was simply easier to move away from blacks and get better jobs where they didn`t have to deal with many blacks. Let other whites deal with them.

Thus Commentary lost interest in complaining about quotas, and neoconservatism morphed into mostly being an Israel Fan Club.

The fundamental question for 21st Century white identity politics is the same as for Armenians, just two or three orders of magnitude greater in media influence: What`s in it for Jews?

White Identity

I just finished reading Jared Taylor’s excellent new book — White Identity: Racial Consciousness in the 21st Century.

Taylor does not outline a way forward for whites, however.

My thinking is that whites need to emulate the ways of Jews. I see the primary mission of my blog these days to bring the craft of the Jew to the plight of the white.

Most people who want to bring about change think they can do it with education. If we can just give people the information they need, they will change. They will see the truth and the truth will set them free from error.

A major obstacle to whites organizing in their group interest is that the news media never portrays this as a good thing. While it is wonderful for all other groups, including women, gays, blacks, Jews, etc to explore their identities and to organize for things they want, this is always a horrible thing for whites to do.

Activists such as Saul Alinsky and Andrew Breitbart taught that the rebels have to use the judo tactic of turning the mass media on themselves to the advantage of the people who are normally suppressed or marginalized and/or take over the institutions themselves to reshape public perceptions.

I am not sure this will do the trick for whites.

White nationalists such as Jared Taylor focus on raising white consciousness. They hope that enough whites will jump on board to form a critical mass.

America may be changing in their direction. Almost all Americans — blacks, whites, asians, latinos — want border security. They don’t want terrorists pouring through. They don’t want an influx of cheap labor. They don’t want America’s welfare and medicine overwhelmed by people who can’t pay their way.

Another important development is that whites are not up in arms over the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown shootings. Blacks and their supporters have the microphone, but whites, latinos and asians aren’t listening. Whites are increasingly giving up on blacks. “Racist” is no longer such a dirty word.

The economy is killing lower-class whites and forcing many whites who were formerly middle class into poverty. The white man who worked in the textile or furniture mills of the south hates it when his job is shipped to China and that government employees are largely black, beneficiaries of affirmative action, and living a middle class life with cushy retirement benefits.

White nationalists must speak to the economic needs of struggling whites.

I see a trend that for reasons of productivity and honesty, companies are moving their clerical and service operations to white states such as North and South Dakota and Utah.

NYT: “Where Are the National Democrats on Ferguson?”

Steve Sailer writes: “Just maybe Hillary Clinton is less certain than the national media that it’s smart to trust the judgment of a mob that burns down the wrong convenience store because they are confused, stupid, and criminal?”

Bert: National Democrats really don’t want to have this conversation because, ultimately, they don’t want to deal with blacks. They just want them to vote on election day and stay dumb and happy for the rest of the year. The days of white politicians loudly demanding justice for black rioters, criminals, and rapists are over and not coming back.

Big Bill says: Holder has left Ferguson now, hasn’t he? He pressed the flesh with a few preachers and college kids. What else is there to do?

The FBI is poring over the Ferguson PD books to find any Federal civil rights offenses, but Holder doesn’t have to sit around and wait on them to do their job. He’s just going to bury it anyway. No reason to stir up another sh!tstorm with an election coming up.

And Holder damn sure isn’t going to risk meeting the rappers that are piling into Ferguson to do street rap or the agitators from out-of-state. No telling what they might say out loud.

By now the local Negro population figures it got in a couple good licks at the white folks and are getting tired of the curfews and out-of-town trash, cops and FBI wandering around the hood.

Meanwhile some fool bruthas are planning a demonstration at the White House. Holder better be back in town for that.

Things do look like they are winding down now.

Rusty writes: No commentator yet has really pointed out that the people involved in these riots from Mike Brown on down really just aren’t that bright. I think this is the first time that I’ve even heard them called out for burning down the QT (an estimated 7 figure loss) for the wrong reason. And that’s maybe the single most important factor at play here. I don’t know if the town hall meeting with the Missouri governor received national coverage, but it played out pretty much like a deleted scene from Idiocracy. Al Sharpton came to town and angrily called for more jobs for black youth, amidst the smoking ruins of Ferguson’s business district which had just recently been annihilated by the region’s black youth. The real problem for the area’s black youth is that too large a percentage of them have felony convictions, elaborate ink work on their necks and faces, and a family history that stretches back generations without a father in the house or a job in the family. And there’s not much that the rev can do about that.

I’ve been divided between enjoying watching the whole thing unravel and the fact that I actually know the people and places involved. You know that the media outlets bend things to suit their audiences, but it’s an amazing thing to see it play out first hand. There won’t be anything funny about the aftermath for Ferguson, though. It’ll be just one more toxic ghetto in the Loo that “used to be nice.”

Pizza writes: How come no conservative saw fit to write a column:

“Where are National Republicans on Ferguson?”

Shouldn’t GOP be standing up for businessmen attacked by rioters?
White cops slandered by black thugs?
White people attacked by blacks?
Black Holder and other demagogues abusing power?

But there’s only silence.

Suppose a black cop had shot a white thug who’d racially intimidated an immigrant businessman and then charged the officer. Suppose ‘white trash’ thugs went on a rampage.
National Democrats would go nuts over it.

But National Republicans are so browbeaten by charges of ‘racism’ by the globo-elites that they don’t even stand up for their natural constituencies. Instead, we have guys like Rand Paul trying to turn this into a libertarian issue when, in fact, militarization of police(as worrying as it is as a separate issue)had nothing to do with Brown’s thuggery and the cop’s response to him.
Wilson didn’t run over Brown with a tank. He used a pistol–something cops had forever–to quell someone who was out of control.

The Changed Meaning Of Latino

If you grew up in California prior to the 1960s, Latinos were just another type of white people like the Irish and Italians. They had lived in California for generations. They usually didn’t speak Spanish. They adhered to white norms of courtesy, education and obeying the law. They thought of themselves as white.

Now Latino primarily means people who came to California illegally or they are the descendants of people who came here illegally, meaning their genetic stock comes from the natives of Mexico and Central America (rather than from European ancestry with average IQs around 100, they average IQs around 90), from people who couldn’t make it in Mexico and couldn’t graduate from high school. They’re usually illiterate in English and Spanish. They don’t graduate high school. They work in low-paying low-skilled jobs. They’re an enormous drain on society, sucking up far more government resources than they contribute in taxes. They have high crime rates and high illegitimacy rates. They don’t give a damn about the well-being of the United States of America. They primarily identify with their countries of origin. They litter and destroy our public parks including local parks, state parks and national forests.

If you take a walk through Ferndell just east of Western Avenue and north of Los Feliz, this area used to be lush with ferns. That was part of the design when it was created. Now all the ferns have been stolen, behavior unthinkable to most California Latinos prior to the 1960s.

What Are The Best Cities In America?

Jared Taylor writes in White Identity: One writer about urban affairs noted that the cities the the media, academics, and city planners invariably call the most desirable places to live — such as Portland, Seattle, Austin, Minneapolis, and Denver — have something in common: they are overwhelmingly white. He called Portland, which is often heralded as one of America’s most successful, progressive, communities, “America’s ultimate White City.” “The contrast with other, supposedly less advanced cities is stark,” he added.

The writer could not bring himself to take the next step: These places are desirable because they are white, and they will cease to be desirable if they cease to be white. No “ultimate White City” can stay that way…

Under the current rules of American society, whites have no moral grounds to preserve racial majorities in any context, whether in a club, neighborhood, school, region, the nation as a whole, or even in their own families. Somewhere, deep in their bones, whites yearn for the comfort, the ease, the joy of living among their own people in societies that reflect the values of their ancestors.
