The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Gets A Great Deal!

On Thursday I quoted Stephen Steinlight, the redoubtable but lonely patriot who is trying to persuade his fellow Jews that mass immigration—specifically Muslim immigration—is bad for them, Steinlight said:

“What`s happened here is that the entire conservative side of the cultural divide has been demonized as potential extremist terrorists…I`m thinking that one day a group of FBI agents will come to CIS [Center for Immigration Studies, where Steinlight is a senior policy analyst] and want to go through our files.”

These comments were part of two very long and rather discursive interviews on LukeFord.Net.

This website is run by an Australian immigrant of Seventh Day Adventist heritage (and with an unusual career history) who has converted to Orthodox Judaism. Part One is here and Part Two here.

Steinlight was still seething with rage over the HIAS [Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society] attempt to repress him through a secret letter-writing campaign. He had some memorably caustic moments.

There is a very strong case to be made that the attitude of the Jewish community is the single most important element in determining US immigration policy. So a selection of the remarks of this dedicated immigration patriot is prime VDARE.com material. (Hat tip The Kvetcher. For the sake of clarity, paragraphs are reordered slightly and some links added.)

Steinlight says:

“I spend a lot of time in shuls because I speak about immigration to Jews. I spend a lot of Shabboses in shuls. It ended up being part of the job…I find myself amused when I go speak at synagogues, particularly Reform synagogues, when my worst antagonist is invariably the rabbi who will often interrupt what I`m saying and will jump on me and who has only three things to say — we were immigrants, he will tear Leviticus 19:33 totally out of context, and then say that anyone who disagrees with him is a nativist. And then he`s finished because he has nothing else to say.
“Leviticus 19:33: `You shall love the stranger.`… What`s really being said here? What`s the translation? What else does the Torah say? That wasn`t a charter of independence for people dwelling among them. One law for everybody. You better conform to our laws. If you put up idols, we will stone you. If you want to become one of us, you have to undergo circumcision. It`s saying that if you dwell among us, you have to obey our laws….”

(This is a great contribution by Steinlight. As The Kvetcher has noted, this cliché seems to be central in the Jewish thinking—or more properly emoting—about immigration. Like the Statue of Liberty doggerel for Americans generally.)

Steinlight continues:

“I would love to speak to Orthodox congregations. I`ve never had an invitation to one. We`ve had ads in Jewish newspapers…
“African-Americans have fallen off [leftist Jews`] moral radar screen. They don`t exist anymore. The new fashion is Hispanics. Jews and blacks didn`t work out very well. So Jews ran on. Jews are always dying to dialogue and to be loved by everyone. Now they`ve gone running off to the next multicultural context….”
“I was …AJC`s [American Jewish Committee] representative at the National Immigration Forum, the chief body in this country pushing for open borders and amnesty. It`s a really bad group of people. I rarely use the word unAmerican. I was brought up in a home where that was associated with Joseph McCarthy, but I will use `unAmerican` to describe these people.
“The constituents of this body are mostly ethnic identity groups that are all separatists. They don`t believe there is any such thing as America or Americans or American cultures. It`s merely a bunch of aggrieved diaspora communities and sometimes they fall out with each other because they argue about who is more aggrieved. The only white people who were members of this were Jews…
“…These are the kind of Jews who want to be citizens of the world. They want to be cosmopolitan, and we know how cosmopolitanism ended up for Jews under Stalin. I wish these Jews would understand that even if you want to be that, they`re not going to buy it. They`re not going to take you. They`re not interested in you anymore. They hate your guts.”
“They don`t understand that this country is pretty much the only place we`ve got apart from Israel where we are not tolerated guests in somebody else`s house. Where we are home and we are equal.
“Showing love to this country is appropriate and not doing it is blind ingratitude and incredibly stupid and endangering Jewish interests.”
“My views on immigration evolved. I didn`t start out believing in lower levels of immigration or change in criteria for immigration. Jews are pathetically ignorant of their own immigration history. Jews for the most part were refugees, not immigrants.
“I started out thinking that immigration is the great American story. It was all very emotional. Then going to those meetings at the National Immigration Forum and seeing who those people were pushing for open borders… I would become sickened going to those meetings and I would leave trembling with rage. That`s rare for me.”

In Part Two, Steinlight goes on:

“The general coverage of this subject is appalling. I wrote a long essay analyzing coverage of immigration as a literary genre… The mainstream media is on the other side… There`s a monolithic mindset. Of all the aspects of the politically correct mindset, this seems to be the holy of holies…”

At this point, Luke Ford commented: “It seems to me that the primary reason for the near unanimity opinion on this issue is that elites are so conditioned that anything that has the slightest smack of racism is to be fled from and abjured.” (This, of course, is what Peter Brimelow has called “Hitler`s Revenge”.)

Steinlight`s response:

“Yes. Also, they`re post-Americans. That is the great dividing line between people who take my side, we believe in the rule of law…but a lot of folks in the elite…they tend to think of themselves as multilateralists, universalists. They regard the nation-state as old-fashioned and done with. I don`t think they see themselves as American. One`s fundamental sense of civic identity, how one sees oneself in relation to the polity, is the driving force in this debate.
“I am an American. My first identity is as an American. My primary identity is as an American. My first concern is the well being of my fellow citizens.
“Immigration is a zero-sum game. You have to pick sides. For me, it is simple. I pick first my countrymen. I think that those on the other side don`t care…there is an animus against this country. Their over-sympathizing with Mexicans or Central Americans is an expression of their disdain for America even though that disdain is impacting the least among us.
“God spare us all from tikkun olam Jews. The rural white poor in this country, they despise. They no longer particularly like blacks because their self-loathing love was not requited. Right now they think they can patronize hispanics.
“Jews are disproportionately involved in every kind of insanity.”

Luke Ford asked: “What, if anything, has surprised you in this attempt to silence you?”

Steinlight:

“A lot of things have surprised me and been extraordinarily painful and disappointing. It reveals something deplorable in the heart of the Jewish establishment. That someone could come out and conduct a surreptitious poison-pen campaign based on lies supplied by the Southern Poverty Law Center [VDARE.com: $PLC to us!], a whole tapestry woven together of quarter-truths and happenstance, to describe me as a white supremacist. Where was David Harris of the American Jewish Committee where I worked for eight years? Why didn`t he stand up and say, `That`s outrageous! I`ve known this man. This guy has stood against bias and bigotry and racism all of his life.` Where were the voices of outrage in the Jewish community? They`ve run along like sheep.”
“Gideon Aronoff [HIAS President] can`t debate an idea because he can`t write a sentence and he can`t speak a sentence. He`s hopeless. He`s an idiot. I`ve made mincemeat of him before congressional committees on one occasion and I`ve made mincemeat of him on other occasions. He`s a horse`s ass. I`m sure he dislikes me intensely.
“HIAS — the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society — is Jewish in name only. Basically it is involved in immigration and supporting illegal immigrants. It has no particular Jewish focus.
“We were testifying to a Congressional panel bringing faith perspectives. It was one of those typically unbalanced (nine witnesses on their side and only two on ours, Jim Edwards and me)…under John Conyers, who`s basically senile, and Zoe Lofgren, who`s got an IQ of 60, and Luis Gutierrez, who`s absolutely monstrous. One of the worst things you can ever do is testify before Congress… Aronoff ended up quoting Leviticus 19:33: `You shall love the stranger.`… There was a really disgusting moment at the end when we watched a Cardinal and a member of the National Council of La Raza and someone from a meat packing company go out the door together for lunch.”

Luke Ford:

“What are the chances Gideon Aronoff wins this battle with you?”

Steinlight:

“No. He`s picked the wrong person. I am not going to go away. I`ve gotten speaking invitations as a result of this….
“I like going to places that are hostile and I end up converting people. That`s why Aronoff wants to shut me up.
“If comprehensive immigration reform were ever to pass, Heaven help us, it would have the most enduring and palpable impact on this country of any piece of legislation since the Emancipation proclamation.
“The heart of that legislation is not amnesty. That`s a weapon of mass distraction. The heart of that is doubling legal immigration. Given the way the system works, the engine of extended family reunification, chain immigration, it will mean 60 million to 100 million more Mexicans here in 20 years.
“You don`t want to be thinking about your bubbe and zede`s immigration. You want to be thinking about how immigration is going to affect your grandchildren.”

Generally, we at VDARE.com regard CIS as another herbivorous ruminant on the immigration restraint slope. Our liking for the helpful wonkery it produces is qualified because of its unsporting habit of triangulation against us.

Steven Steinlight however, is a different matter. He has definitely put himself at the sharp end of this war.

How Can We Stop Sexual Violence?

ESPN reports: “At minimum, college grantees must create a coordinated community response to sexual violence, a mandatory sexual violence prevention education program for all incoming students, and a training program for all campus law enforcement and disciplinary board members on how to respond to sexual violence.”

The other alternative is to demand high level academic achievement before allowing somebody into college. That way thugs don’t get brought in to play football and basketball.

REPORT:

Studies from the late 1950s showed that the vast majority of rapes were same-race offenses. Research in Philadelphia carried out in 1958 and 1960 indicated that of all rapes, only 3.2 percent were black-on-white assaults and 3.6 percent were white-on-black. Since that time, the proportion of black-on-white rapes has soared. In a 1974 study in Denver, 40 percent of all rapes were of whites by blacks, and not one case of white-on-black rape was found. In general, through the 1970s, black-on-white rape was at least ten times more common that white-on-black rape. [319]
Because interracial rape is now overwhelmingly black on white, it has become difficult to do research on it or to find relevant statistics. The FBI keeps very detailed national records on crime, but the way it presents rape data obscures the racial element rather than clarifies it. Dr. William Wilbanks, a criminologist at Florida International University, had to sift carefully through the data to find that in 1988 there were 9,406 cases of black-on-white rape and fewer than ten cases of white-on-black rape. [320] Another researcher concludes that in 1989, blacks were three or four times more likely to commit rape than whites, and that black men raped white women thirty times as often as white men raped black women. [321]
Interracial crime figures are even worse than they sound. Since there are more than six times as many whites as blacks in America, it means that any given black person is vastly more likely to commit a crime against a white than vice versa.

Patrick Buchanan writes in 2013:

When Holder delivered his 2009 “nation-of-cowards” speech blaming racism for racial separation, Manhattan Institute’s Heather Mac Donald suggested that our attorney general study his crime statistics.
In New York from January to June 2008, 83 percent of all gun assailants were black, according to witnesses and victims, though blacks were only 24 percent of the population. Blacks and Hispanics together accounted for 98 percent of all gun assailants. Forty-nine of every 50 muggings and murders in the Big Apple were the work of black or Hispanic criminals.
New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly confirms Mac Donald’s facts. Blacks and Hispanics commit 96 percent of all crimes in the city, he says, but only 85 percent of the stop-and-frisks are of blacks and Hispanics.
And these may involve the kind of pat-downs all of us have had at the airport.
Is stop-and-frisk the work of racist cops in New York, where the crime rate has been driven down to levels unseen in decades?
According to Kelly, a majority of his police force, which he has been able to cut from 41,000 officers to 35,000, is now made up of minorities.
But blacks are also, per capita, the principal victims of crime. Would black fathers prefer their sons to grow up in Chicago, rather than low-crime New York City, with its stop-and-frisk policy?
Fernando Mateo, head of the New York taxicab union, urges his drivers to profile blacks and Hispanics for their own safety: “The God’s honest truth is that 99 percent of the people that are robbing, stealing, killing these drivers are blacks and Hispanics.”
Mateo is what The New York Times would describe as “a black Hispanic” Yet he may be closer to the ‘hood than Holder, who says he was stopped by police when running to a movie — in Georgetown.
Which raises a relevant question. Georgetown is an elitist enclave of a national capital that has been ruled by black mayors for half a century. It’s never had a white mayor.
Is Holder saying we’ve got racist cops in the district where Obama carried 86 percent of the white vote and 97 percent of the black vote? And his son should fear the white cops in Washington, D.C.?
What about interracial crime, white-on-black attacks and the reverse?
After researching the FBI numbers for “Suicide of a Superpower,” this writer concluded: “An analysis of ‘single offender victimization figures’ from the FBI for 2007 finds blacks committed 433,934 crimes against whites, eight times the 55,685 whites committed against blacks. Interracial rape is almost exclusively black on white — with 14,000 assaults on white women by African Americans in 2007. Not one case of a white sexual assault on a black female was found in the FBI study.”
Though blacks are outnumbered 5-to-1 in the population by whites, they commit eight times as many crimes against whites as the reverse. By those 2007 numbers, a black male was 40 times as likely to assault a white person as the reverse.
If interracial crime is the ugliest manifestation of racism, what does this tell us about where racism really resides — in America?
And if the FBI stats for 2007 represent an average year since the Tawana Brawley rape-hoax of 1987, over one-third of a million white women have been sexually assaulted by black males since 1987 — with no visible protest from the civil rights leadership.
Today, 73 percent of all black kids are born out of wedlock. Growing up, these kids drop out, use drugs, are unemployed, commit crimes and are incarcerated at many times the rate of Asians and whites — or Hispanics, who are taking the jobs that used to go to young black Americans.
Are white vigilantes or white cops really Black America’s problem?

Imagine that the United States suffered another 9/11 type attack — or two or three of them — by Muslims, destroying trillion of dollars, plunging the economy into a depression, and ending the American way of life. Do you think Americans would stand enthusiastically for equal rights for Muslims and for all minorities or do you think America might decide to get mighty white about things and start putting minorities in their place and put up a massive wall along the southern border with Mexico and get restrictive about who gets to visit the USA?

Imagine that a massive 9/11 type attack by Muslims on America was explicitly tied to American support for Israel. Would Jews be safe in America? I’m not so sure any minorities would be safe in America in that circumstance.

Right now America’s multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-cultural way of life has no alternative, but then another 9/11 type attack comes along and the ordinary rules no longer apply.

America is not only ruled by its elected representatives and the heads of large publicly-traded companies. It is also run by the Deep State. The person in front of the cameras, such as a Barack Obama, is not necessarily the person pulling the strings.

As Wikipedia states:

The notion of deep state is similar to that of a “state within the state”. For those who believe in its existence, the political agenda of the deep state involves an allegiance to nationalism, corporatism, and state interests. Violence and other means of pressure have historically been employed in a largely covert manner to manipulate political and economic elites and ensure specific interests are met within the seemingly democratic framework of the political landscape.

Tolerance is a luxury rare in history.

What might happen if Barack Obama gives executive amnesty to ten million people who came here illegally?

What would happen if a nuclear weapon exploded in Washington DC and took out our government?

What would happen in a deadly virus swept the land, brought in by illegal aliens?

American is not destined to rule the world for the next thousand years.

A lot of my friends have back-up plans for if America collapses. A prudent Jew always has an escape route in mind. The smartest and most worldly Jews got out of Europe in the 1930s and these types are ready now to flee America when necessary.

Man Smacks The Soul Out Of Girl That Was Clowning Him On The NY Subway

What began as a young woman taunting a man on the F-train in Greenwich Village devolved into a wild subway brawl that left four people in cuffs early Saturday, according to police video footage of the melee.

Danay Howard, 21, is seen in a video posted to Youtube on Saturday being egged on by friends as she taunts Jorge Pena, 25, over his style sense on the uptown bound F train near W. 4th St. shortly before 5 a.m., police said.

Pena, who is seen in the video wearing a red, white, and black 8 Ball leather jacket and a fur hat, at first nods and smiles, but things soon turn ugly, the video shows.

“You got a bum ass eight ball jacket that came out in 1990,” Howard said to Pena before telling him to “just get your money up, simple.”

Eventually, the man filming the incident caught Howard and her cohorts attention. The three women jump up from their seat and knock the phone from his hands twice.

Moments later, as Pena’s face is off camera, a male voice is heard calling Howard a “dirty b—-”.

“What’d you call me?” Howard yells as she swings a leopard print high-heel and strikes Pena in the head, the video shows.

Pena then turns and slaps Howard across the face.

The blow knocks the woman back five feet as another man jumps in and exchange punches with the attacker as chaos breaks out on the train.

Howard and Pena were arrested at the W. 4th St. subway station around 5 a.m. along with Kevin Gil, 21, and Shanique Campbell, 20, who were apparently supporting Howard and had jumped into the melee after the slap, police said.

Pena, Gil, and Campbell were charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct, police said.

Howard was charged with felony assault for using a weapon – the shoe – in the attack.

Just As Israelis Become More Nationalistic, So Too Should The Goyim

David Remnick writes for The New Yorker:

Last year, Rivlin denounced fans of Beitar Jerusalem, the soccer team of the city’s right wing, after they held up signs reading “Beitar Forever Pure” to protest the signing of two Muslim players from Chechnya. Rivlin, a Beitar supporter, said at the time, “Imagine the outcry if groups in England or Germany said that Jews could not play for them.”

This same type of chauvinism would be healthy for other groups.

I love Israel’s turn to the right and I hope Europeans imitate it to protect their own cultures from hostile foreign influence.

Although Jabotinsky considered himself a liberal and a democrat, his nationalism was so fierce that he occasionally betrayed an admiration for Benito Mussolini…
The history of Jews living as a minority in Arab states is not a pretty one. Edward Said, when he was asked in 2000 by a writer from Haaretz what would happen to a Jewish minority in a binational state, replied, “It worries me a great deal. The question of what is going to be the fate of the Jews is very difficult for me. I really don’t know.”

Groups living as minorities don’t usually have a jolly time of it.

A friend says: The feminist anti-cisgender thing just isn’t working out. We have two choices.

1) Take the power back.
2) Let the haredi men take the power back.

But either way, communal political power will return to the men. That is the natural order of all semitic tribes. There is no other way. Not long-term.

If Israel Wants To Be The Jewish State, Then All Jews Anywhere Become Targets

When Israel is at war, synagogues around the world as well as individual Jews have to take greater precautions and hire more security guards. Why? Because if Israel wants to identify as the Jewish state, all Jews become targets of those who hate Israel.

In almost all of the world except America and Israel, Zionist is a dirty word. In Judaism, most Jews (though few of the most religious Jews) believe in a national state located in Zion for the Jewish people.

REPORT:

Hours after the attempted arson of a Paris kosher restaurant, a group of French teenagers assaulted a Jewish adolescent outside a school
The assault happened Thursday in the 3rd arrondissement, or district, 500 yards north of Bastille, in front of the private high school Progress, which has a large number of Jewish students.
The victim, who was wearing a kippah, was standing in front of the school with some friends when a group of approximately 15 youths of African descent ages 16-19 assaulted him, according to a report of the incident by the National Bureau for Vigilance against Anti-Semitism, or BNVCA.

It is bizarre to call these Africans French. I assume they are Muslims.

A friend tells me: “We should find out which country these thugs and their parents immigrated from, let HIAS know so they can bring in hundred of thousands of them to Chicago, NY, and NJ. Then when there are ever-increasing problems, blame it on rising “American” anti-semitism.”

Latinos have the highest rate of anti-Semitism of any group in America and they make up the majority of those who would be given a legal right to live in America despite coming here illegally under an amnesty bill.

The poll also looked at anti-Semitic views among significantly large minority groups:
Hispanics: Once again, Hispanic Americans born outside of the U.S. are more likely than Hispanics born in the U.S. to hold anti-Semitic views. According to the survey, 42 percent of foreign-born Hispanics hold anti-Semitic views, as opposed to 20 percent of U.S. born Hispanics.
African-Americans: In the past four years, anti-Semitic views among the African-American population have remained steady, but are consistently higher than the general population. In 2011, 29 percent of African-Americans expressed strongly anti-Semitic views. That percentage is consistent with the findings of past surveys.
The steady growth of the Hispanic population, now at 15 percent of the adult population, means that Hispanics and African-Americans together now comprise 27 percent of the American population, a number that is sure to grow in the coming years. This population increase of the cohorts with a substantially higher percentage of anti-Semitic beliefs than the total population also means that anti-Semitic propensities in the coming years will be a challenge, according to the ADL poll.

CA Nursing Homes Exposed By The Sacramento Bee

Shlomo Rechnitz is revered in Los Angeles Jewish circles for his bountiful charity.

I heard him talked about on KPCC’s Take Two show today. The Sacramento Bee reporter described his degree in Talmud and his many businesses but emphasized that Rechnitz had no training in health.

From SacBee.com:

* The Bee found 10 of those chains – including the two largest, Plum Healthcare Group and a network owned by Shlomo Rechnitz of Los Angeles – performed below statewide averages last year in more than half of the examined quality-of-care categories, which gauge the incidence of problems such as pressure sores, infections and falls.

* The state’s largest chain, headed by Rechnitz, earned poor or below-average staffing ratings from the nonprofit California HealthCare Foundation in about 80 percent of its 54 homes. Even so, Rechnitz recently was given a federal judge’s blessing to purchase 19 more facilities.

* Homes owned by Shlomo Rechnitz, the state’s largest operator, fell below state averages on 35 of the 46 measures The Bee considered. Rechnitz did not respond to interview requests. However, in written responses, his legal and public-relations advisers emphasized that Rechnitz and his principal company, Brius Healthcare Services, have taken over numerous troubled facilities suffering significant patient-care issues.

Jews, Gypsies And The Chinese

Kevin MacDonald writes in his review of Yuri Slezkine‘s book The Jewish Century:

Slezkine imagines that the Gypsies and literate middleman groups like the Jews or Overseas Chinese differ not in intelligence but only in whether they express their intelligence through literacy or an oral culture: “Businessmen, diplomats, doctors, and psychotherapists are literate peddlers, heralds, healers, and fortune-tellers” (p. 29) — a formulation that will not stand the test of current psychometric data. In fact, the general patterns of Gypsies are the opposite of Jews: a low-investment, low-IQ reproductive style characterized by higher fertility, earlier onset of sexual behavior and reproduction, more
unstable pair bonds, higher rate of single parenting, shorter interval of birth spacing, higher infant mortality rate, and higher rate of survival of low birth weight infants.5

Intelligence, for Slezkine, is a lifestyle choice, rather than a set
of brain processes underlying information processing and strongly influenced by genetic variation. As we shall see, this formulation is very useful to Slezkine as he constructs his argument later in the book.

In his attempt to paint with a very broad brush, Slezkine also ignores other real differences among the Mercurians, most notably, I would argue,the aggressiveness of the Jews compared to the relative passivity of the Overseas Chinese. Both the Jews and the Overseas Chinese are highly intelligent and entrepreneurial, but the Overseas Chinese have not formed a hostile cultural elite in Southeast Asian countries, where they have chiefly settled,and have not been concentrated in media ownership or in the construction of culture. We do not read of Chinese cultural movements disseminated in the major universities and media outlets that subject the traditional culture of Southeast Asians and anti-Chinese sentiment to radical critique, or of Chinese organizations campaigning for the removal of native cultural and religious symbols from public places.6 Slezkine paints Jews as deeply involved in the construction of culture and in the politics of the host societies, but the role of the Chinese was quite different. The following passage describing the political attitudes of the Overseas Chinese in Thailand could never have applied to Jews in Western societies since the Enlightenment:

“But few seem to know or indeed to care about the restrictions on citizenship, nationality rights, and political activities in general, no rare these restrictions given much publicity in the Chinese press. This merely points up the fact, recognized by all observers, that the overseas Chinese are primarily concerned with making a living, or amassing a fortune, and thus take only a passive interest in the formal political life of the country in which they live.”
