Jews Against Trump

Rob Eshman writes for the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles:

And the fact that Trump could provoke such a uniform reaction from such a fractious people is a credit to the dumbness and darkness of his ideas.
His increasingly xenophobic and racist rhetoric reached a low point this week when he declared that under a Trump administration, America would close its borders to Muslims.
“We need a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States while we figure out what the hell is going on,” Trump said to cheers of approval from his supporters.
If Trump thought Jews, so often the targets of Islamic terrorism, would join the cheers, he really doesn’t get Jews. The reaction from Jewish organizations and leaders was immediate and uniformly negative.
Trump’s plan was “unacceptable and antithetical to American values,” Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt said in a written statement.
“The U.S. was founded as a place of refuge for those fleeing religious persecution, and religious pluralism is core to our national identity,” Greenblatt continued. “A plan that singles out Muslims and denies them entry to the U.S. based on their religion is deeply offensive and runs contrary to our nation’s deepest values.”
Greenblatt’s words echoed similar statements from across the Jewish political, religious and ideological spectrum. Last month, even the Orthodox Union joined in opposing Trump’s call to keep Syrian refugees out of America.
Trump must be scratching his – insert your own hair joke here. Jews are a particular target of Islamic terror. The coward who shot up the disabilities center in San Bernardino was “obsessed” with Israel, his father told reporters.
According to the FBI’s most recent statistics, Jews still are the prime target for hate crimes in America—59 percent are directed at Jews. Second place, but rising faster, are Muslims.
But Jews understand that the democratic safeguards built into America’s Constitution, including the separation of church and state, form our strongest safeguard against hate and discrimination. When those crumble, we all fall down.
Beyond the danger posed by the threat to civil liberties and religious freedom, there is the practical issue. In Trump’s mind, the best way to stop Islamic terror is to target all Muslims. But that just encourages Muslim radicalism, creates the “holy war” between Muslims and non-Muslims that the extremists pray for, and pushes moderate believers to the extremes.
Liberal claptrap? Ask the French Jews and the Israelis.
When Trump’s recent foulness exploded across the Web, I was having coffee with an Israeli official. Israelis, he told me, are simply bemused by Trump’s antics. If Muslims in and of themselves are the problem, how to account for the success of Israel, a democratic Jewish state with a 20-percent mostly Muslim Arab minority ?
Israel faces threats from Islamic extremism that, to use a Trumpism, would make your head spin, but Israeli leaders from David Ben Gurion to Benjamin Netanyahu have known that the best way to increase radicalization is to persecute the majority of law-abiding Muslim citizens, or to insult the Muslim religion itself.
French Jews have seen their own and their fellow countrymen slaughtered on the streets of Paris and Toulouse at the hands of Muslim terrorists – but they know the moral and practical dangers of a discriminatory France are a far greater threat.
This week, the Jews of France issued a stinging rebuke to their homegrown anti-democratic forces, and, by extension, to Trump.
On the eve of the upcoming regional elections in France, the Alsace chapter of CRIF, the umbrella Jewish organization, came out strongly against the Muslim-baiting National Front, led by Marine Le Pen.
“The Alsace chapter, strongly attached to the values of the Republic,” the statement read, “calls upon all voters to participate at the upcoming elections – since so much is at stake. We are calling to reject the extremist parties that advocate hatred and try to prosper at the expense of the divide within the society created by fear.”
CRIF president Roger Cukierman called on the Jewish community to vote “in order to block the National Front, a party of xenophobia and populism.”
It was heartening this week to see Republican presidential candidates and Party leaders all denounce Trump’s ideas. And it was especially thrilling to hear the silence and jeers that met Trump at the recent meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Jewish Journal: Is Trump Hitler?

The closer Donald Trump gets to the White House, the more unhinged our elites get.

Jewish Journal Editor Rob Eshman writes:

The funny thing about the bitch’s spawn is it never emerges looking like it did the last time. We have all been on the lookout for the loser Jew-hating neo-Nazi, and we are certainly attuned to very real Islamist hate, but this year’s model comes out of right field — a billionaire real estate magnate reality TV star. Who’d have thought?
Fortunately, there is every indication decent folks are prepared to rise up and shut down Trump.
That was clear in the reaction to Trump’s call for banning Muslims from the United States, in response to which, as I pointed out last week, every single Jewish denomination from Orthodox to Reform has fiercely objected.
That was clear in Washington, D.C., at the White House Chanukah party on Dec. 9, where a rabbi’s speech before the menorah lighting invoked the need to bring light to the kind of darkness Trump brings to the world.
“The word Chanukah means dedication,” Rabbi Sid Schwarz, a senior fellow at the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership (Clal), said as he stood next to the president and the first lady. “At a time when we hear the most shameful expressions of bigotry in our public discourse from prominent personalities, we must rededicate ourselves to the principles of tolerance and justice for all.”
And that was clear Sunday morning on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall, where Mayor Eric Garcetti joined with local leaders, dozens of Muslim, Jewish and Christian clergy and a crowd of concerned citizens to condemn terrorism and the kind of racism that Trump has stoked in reaction to it.
“We know that acts of hate that follow seek to divide us,” Garcetti told the gathering. “And if we are to be a truly safe people, we need not only the protection of those in uniform, we need the trust between one another.”
And that was clear, finally, at a remarkable gathering last Sunday night in Marina del Rey, where dozens of concerned Americans gathered to raise money through the Democracy Council to provide teachers and doctors to Syrian refugees in Turkey and Jordan. Ambassador Frederic Hof, former special envoy to Syria and a Vietnam veteran who is the recipient of a Purple Heart, made clear that the way to help the refugees and to defeat ISIS is to fight terror there and hate here.
“How in the world will we defeat the Islamic State without the help of American Muslims?” Hof said to the audience of Muslims, Jews and Christians. “Will we let our politicians manipulate our fears so that they can get elected?”
Although the fundraiser didn’t set out to be an interfaith event, it became one — because this is not yet Donald Trump’s America, not even close.

Jewish Journal: Donald Trump’s American dream

Danielle Berrin writes:

Just for fun, I decided to take Donald Trump at his word.
After the Republican presidential candidate responded to the San Bernardino terror attack by calling for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States,” I thought it might be interesting to study a historical example of what state-sponsored racism actually looks like. Consider it a practical form of voter education.
So, last Friday, I drove up to the Skirball Cultural Center to view its exhibition on Manzanar, the World War II incarceration camp for Japanese-Americans located in California’s arid Owens Valley, depicted here through the photographs of Ansel Adams. In describing “the temper of the times” there are parallels to current events that seem so relevant, it’s eerie: “A wave of fear and paranoia swept the western United States and the Hawaiian Islands following the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor… Anxiety over possible invasion by Japanese forces or sabotage by Japanese Americans overrode common sense…”

Just a few months after the December 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, authorizing the rounding up and relocation of all persons of Japanese descent, as well as some Germans and Italians, to incarceration camps in the Western United States. Think of this as America’s cousin to the Nuremberg Laws, because in the days and weeks that followed, an estimated 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry — citizens and non-citizens, or what the Japanese referred to as Issei (first-generation Americans) or Nisei (second-generation) were evacuated from their homes; forced to close or sell their businesses at a fraction of their value; and relocated to camps in the American “interior,” where they could be monitored and controlled.

Comments posted at the JJ:

* Big difference. No Japanese on the west coast actually tried to kill their neighbors and coworkers. Nobody from the 442 decided to do “workplace violence” in bootcamp. And on a parochial level no Japanese ever thought blowing up a synagogue or heaping abuse on Jewish college students was a cool thing.

* And no japanese learn how to fly a plane to crash it into a building, the Pentagon or the White House.

* I forgot Boston and Fort Hood.

George Will: Beating Hillary Less Important Than Stopping Trump

Ben Shapiro writes: As the end of the year approaches, Donald Trump is solidly ensconced at the top of the Republican polls nationally. The man just behind him? Senator Sen. Ted Cruz, an establishment bugaboo. The establishment’s favorite candidate, Senator Sen. Marco Rubio, is currently running far behind in national polling, a distant third in Iowa, and in a deadlock with Cruz and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for second in New Hampshire.

Panic time.

So, here’s the establishment roundup for Christmas week.

If You Support Donald Trump, You Want to Lose. Earlier this week, Bret Stephens of The Wall Street Journal unleashed a petulant column accusing all Trump and Cruz backers of begging for defeat. “Let us now pledge to elect Hillary Clinton as the 45th president of the United States,” he snarked. “Let’s do this because it’s what we want. Maybe secretly, maybe unconsciously, but desperately. We want four—and probably eight—more years of cable-news neuralgia. We want to drive ourselves to work as Mark Levin or Laura Ingraham scratch our ideological itches until they bleed a little. We want the refiner’s fire that is our righteous indignation at a country we claim no longer to recognize—ruled by impostors and overrun by foreigners.” Stephens specifically singled out Cruz for criticism, calling him a flip-flopper “happy to be on any side of an issue so long as he can paint himself as a ‘real Republican.’”

If We Have to Lose to Beat Trump, So Be It. When establishment columnists weren’t painting large swaths of the Republican base as politically suicidal, they were calling for suicide. George Will, iconic columnist, wrote today, “Conservatives’ highest priority now must be to prevent Trump from winning the Republican nomination in this, the GOP’s third epochal intraparty struggle in 104 years.” Never mind that Mitt Romney strayed from conservatism so far that he invented Obamacare; never mind that Sen. John McCain crafted campaign finance reform and amnesty. No, it’s Trump who singularly represents the death of the conservative ideal.

Of course, Will might just be miffed that Trump recently said “I think I have a much higher IQ… You have these guys like George Will. He sits with the little spectacles. If he didn’t have the spectacles, you wouldn’t think he’s smart because he’s wrong so much.”

Hey, Anybody Wanna Start a Third Party? Months ago, establishment Republicans complained that Donald Trump would not vow to forgo a third party run. Now, they’re thinking of a third party themselves. Weekly Standard editor-in-chief Bill Kristol tweeted:

Crowd-sourcing: Name of the new party we’ll have to start if Trump wins the GOP nomination? Suggestions welcome at [email protected]

— Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) December 20, 2015

And as I explained earlier this week:

Politico’s Jeff Greenfield says, “If the operatives I talked with are right, Trump running as a Republican could well face a third-party run – from the Republicans themselves”….Jeb Bush’s aides “began looking into the possibility of making a clear break with Trump – potentially with the candidate stating that, if Trump were the nominee, Bush would not support him.” Last week, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said that former Mississippi governor Haley Barbour “and a lot of the Republican leaders would much rather Hillary Clinton be President of the United States than have Donald Trump represent them as a Republican.” And in November, The Hill reported that “GOP establishment donors have confided to The Hill that for the first time in recent memory, they find themselves contemplating not supporting a Republican nominee for president.”

WP: Donald Trump is pushing journalists to their professional — and personal — limits

Comments posted at WP:

* Callum Borchers “forgot” to mention a couple of innocent facts.
He forgot to mention that 95 percent of journalists vote for Dem. party. He forgot to mention that future journalists are conditioned in colleges by leftist professors to lie. He forgot to mention that those journalists who pretend to be independent or even conservative, in reality represent the two-faced Janus of one party system of Remocrats, those whom a normal American disdainfully calls “MSM.” He forgot to mention that there are no journalists in the US MSM who really reflect populism, a political movement of common sense for common people, represented by Trump (and if populism means the very saving of the American middle class from disappearing – then populism is not a bad word for me). Callum Borchers forgot to mention that in tens of Trump rallies, the cameras of most TV stations were fixed on his face, in order not to show the enormous crowds at the rallies, and thus to diminish their significance and refused to be panned, even when Trump and crowds demanded it. His comments were mostly triggered by that dishonesty, but journalists’ dishonesty towards Trump is not limited to this offensively open form of censorship during the broadcasting. During these six months the MSM’s hatred and lying about Trump reached Goebbels’ proportions. Why? Because he is quickly destroying the one party system, where the remocratic establishment of two so-called partis, NYT, WP, ABC, FOXnews, NBC, CNN and tutti quanti managed to bring the country to the threshold of ruin. Callum Borchers forgot to mention that the American Journalism is dead…. exactly like American Dream. And people are switching to YouTube and Twitter.
It is not Trump, it is the American people who don’t trust you, despise you and hate you. By “you,” I mean everything you represent. Your journalism, like your one party system, masquerading as GOP and Dems., will be marginalized pretty soon, and the new populist journalism will dominate soon.

* Comparing journalists to attorneys or accountants in this regard seems like a real stretch. There are actual life-altering consequences to getting that stuff wrong as an attorney, doctor, accountant, etc. But as a “journalist”? Come on – what’s there to fear for being slanted, a mean tweet? And come on, don’t tell me that it isn’t part of the game as a writer to see how cleverly you can weave in persuasion. Of course it is. You guys can’t resist.

* Donald Trump is pushing the ideologically driven, hateful, obsessed, lying liberal media… to the limits.

* It must come as a complete shock that the Media has lost control of their minions. That you purport to be objective and on the border of injecting personal belief, shows how far adrift you are.

Everyone knows the media is in the tank on a specific agenda. What is amazing is that there is someone with enough cred to call the media out for their biased nature.

* We know the media has no limits when it comes to unabashed promotion of Trump hate resulting in widespread threats of violence and assassination directed toward him.

Journalists would do well to start considering if there are limits to how much of this irresponsible tripe the readers will put up with.

You reap what you sow.

* Muslims blame Trump for damaging relations, when it’s radical jihadists and the relative silence of the greater Muslim community that have done the damage. That’s like smoking a pack a day for 20 years, then blaming the doctor who points out you have lung cancer.
The RNC establishment blames Trump for ruining the party, when they’ve been doing that to themselves for years with their ineptitude, inaction and dedication to special interest over the base. That’s like smoking a pack a day for 20 years, then blaming the doctor who points out you have lung cancer.
Now, the poor media are blaming Trump for making them look bad. I have undergrad and grad degrees in journalism and I’m embarrassed by our media. So biased, so dishonest. Objectivity is sneered at; activism is where they live. We don’t need establishment politicians or the MSM to make up our minds for us, and lying to do so. The media blaming Trump for the public’s disdain of the media is like smoking a pack a day for 20 years, then blaming the doctor who points out you have lung cancer.
Trump 2016

* Professional journalists, as a class, richly deserve every bit of scorn that is being heaped upon them. It’s hard to think of a single profession that has abandoned its most basic duties more thoroughly than the press, who somewhere along the way discovered that it was far easier and more profitable to serve the agendas of our political and financial elites than to tell uncomfortable truths about them.

Can’t tell you how much it pleases me to hear Trump tell you in plain words what you are.

Let’s Make America Great Again

What, Exactly, is the ‘Alternative Right?’

I’m surprised by how fair this article is.

Benjamin Welton writes in the Weekly Standard:

Namely, a new, highly heterogeneous force in right-wing politics is taking hold, and they have their sights set firmly on the Republican “establishment.” Known collectively as the “alternative right,” this amalgam includes neo-reactionaries, monarchists, nativists, populists, and even a few self-declared fascists. They mostly congregate online, with a large swath of blogs and websites dedicated to their concerns. As an example of how truly diverse the alt right is, major and proverbial watering holes for them include everything from Breitbart and the libertarian-leaning Taki Mag to Alternative Right—a blog that openly supports white nationalism.

Yet as scattered and ideologically diffuse as it is, the alt right has had real success. “GamerGate,” along with the wildly successful Twitter hashtag #cuckservative, are apt displays of why the alternative right has often proven more effective at fighting progressive dogma than the traditional Republican party. How? The alt right taken the fight to the left in the best way possible—they’ve co-opted its tactics and deployed them against their bully makers. The end result: Trump, the darling of the populist alt right (and its cousin, conservative talk radio), is miles ahead of his challengers, while the right-wing blogosphere is everyday gaining ground against the left and converting plenty of American voters along the way.

The alt right can cause some stomachs to churn: Even though the alt right loves to mix it up with Gawker and Salon types, it (like Trump) may enjoy picking on other conservatives even more. Republican hesitancy to accept the alt right into the fold therefore makes sense for several reasons, especially since it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the alt right couldn’t care less about the Republican party. In fact, many on the alt right believe that the Republican party is in dire need of a purge. If given the chance, the alt right would expel Marco Rubio for supporting the Gang of Eight, while other candidates like John Kasich, George Pataki, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, and Jeb Bush would get the axe for various other positions.

What makes the alt right so radical is that it categorically disagrees with even the supposedly “extreme” positions of conservatives. Being against illegal immigration and for deportation isn’t enough; the alt right wants to drastically cut back on legal immigration, as well. As for Syria, most on the alt right support Assad and Putin instead of the so-called “moderate opposition.” Basically, with the alt right, don’t expect any loyalty when it comes to the tried-and-tested Republican platform. They, not the left, are the real threat to the Republican party as it is currently constituted.

This is of course the very reason why the alt right has been in the ascendant. Rather than concede the moral high ground to the left, the alt right turns the left’s moralism on its head and makes it a badge of honor to be called “racist,” “homophobic,” and “sexist.” Instead of the GOP establishment’s soup of globalism, free markets, and foreign interventions, the alt right has resurrected some ghosts from the conservative past in pushing for protectionism, national capitalism, and an emphasis on protecting American lives at home, not abroad. Sound familiar? Get out your pitchforks.

Steve Sailer: What Are the Most Useful Data Points to Memorize?

Comments:

* The black crime rate is over 6 times greater than the average American rate.

The black on white crime is 55 times greater than the white on black crime rate.

The black on white murder is only 13 to 17 times greater than the white on black rate.

* Not so much a number to keep in mind, but a pair of shapes: The bell curve, and an S curve of exponential growth/diminishing returns.
Those two shapes are so important to understanding so many of the problems of the modern world.

* If only our innumerate society could somehow learn to think about adverse social trends in numeric terms, such as: the ratio of yearly third world immigrants (1-2 million) to newborns (about 4 million) portends a country gradually becoming a stranger to itself. Sadly, we will never embrace this mode of thinking (a hallmark of this blog). Instead, we just continue to feed our crops Gatorade because, “it’s what plants crave.

* Roughly speaking:
Land area of US = area of Canada = area of Europe [with Brazil a little behind these three]
area of US*3 = area of Africa
area of Brazil*2 = area of Russia = area of South America

* I think it’s useful to think about hypocrisy in percentage terms. As in, how often does a person fail to live up to their stated principles?

The left has gotten lots of mileage out of calling Christian conservatives hypocrits, especially in regard to sexual morality.

Lets suppose a Christian man tries to be faithful to his wife, but fails due to weakness of will on one or two occasions. Let’s say he lives up to his ideals 99.9% of the time. You might say he is 0.1% hypocrite.

Compare that to a leftist who claims to love diversity, yet spends their life avoiding it, living in the most white community they can find, sending their kids to a white private school, and so on. They will almost never live up to their ideals, except maybe for symbolic occasions or photo ops. This makes them 99% hypocrites.

I think it is useful to understand the difference between 1% hypocrisy, driven by weakness of will, and 99% hypocrisy driven by genuine dishonesty or lack of self awareness. A sense of proportion here matters.

And I think the hypocrisy that conservatives are accused of, especially with sexual morality, is of the 1% sort. But the kind liberals engage in, especially regarding diversity, is of the 99% sort.

* Hauser’s Law says that Federal tax revenues fluctuate closely around 19% of GDP, no matter how the marginal tax rates are changed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauser%27s_law

If you raise tax rates, Federal tax revenues will be close to 19% of GDP.

If you lower tax rates, Federal tax revenues will be close to 19% of GDP.

* A country can be conquered 100% at a time, this is traditional warfare.

But a country can also be conquered 1% at a time, and this is what immigration does. Those 1%s add up over time, they add up to dispossession.

Even just in terms of voting, when you let in 10% more voters, it means the voting power of the native population has been diluted by 10%.

If you have a two party system, it is even worse. You can also think in terms of a seesaw, if you have 47 pounds on one side, and 53 pounds on the other, the addition of 10 pounds to the lighter side can tilt the beam.

* It’s important to remember that 5.5% of Black men, 0.1% of Caucasian men, and 0.00067% of Asian men carried the 2R allele for the MAO-A gene. A 2 R allele makes the carrier not only more violent, but more susceptible to becoming antisocial if raised in a toxic environment involving physical abuse.

This number is important to have in mind when estimating the percentage of violent criminals within, and the proportion between groups.

* One study concluded that black men with the 2R variant have an estimated lifetime risk of shooting or stabbing someone of 50%, black men with a normal variant have a 7% risk.

Another study of black men showed the 5.5% of the who have the 2R variant are 3.85 times more likely to have been arrested and 3.05 times more likely to have ever been incarcerated.

A third study of teenagers and self-reported acts of violent and non-violence delinquency showed the 2R variant holders to have about twice the level of both types of delinquency.

* The number of digits of pi that a person remembers by heart could serve as a very rough measure of nerdiness. I remember it as 3.1415926535. If you typed the above from memory, you’re probably nerdier than I am.

* Dunbar’s number = approx. 150. The maximum number of strong social ties a person can sustain. Basis for tribal organization and the riposte to anyone claiming thousands of Facebook friends or Twitter followers.

* The 68–95–99.7 rule — One standard deviation from the mean of what’s being measured encompasses about 68% of the group in question, two standard deviations 95%, and three standard deviations 99.7%.

Roughly, a standard deviation is an ordinary difference, two standard deviations are a big difference, and three standard deviations are a really big difference.

* The value of a random American life is $10 million (that is the Value of a Statistical Life number calculated very expertly and publically by the USDOT).

That means it would have been worth $140 million to prevent the San Berdoo shooters from killing their victims, and (I suggest) it would have been worth at least another $110 million to prevent the additional 22 sublethal casualties they caused.

The average earnings of a working immigrant (note that the average is misleading because the distribution of immigrants’ earnings is bi- or tri-modal, with a few earning a lot, a lot earning a little, and some more earning close to nil) may be generously-estimated about $30,000/year. The average labor share of income is about 60%, so the average surplus per working immigrant should be $20,000. However, the average government subsidy to $30,000/year workers (above what they pay in taxes) is about $7,000. So the average surplus per immigrant worker is no more than $13,000/year. (Most of that surplus accrues to the employer, not other workers– even leaving aside the fact that the modal immigrant earns less and costs more in subsidies than the mean working immigrant.)

So it takes about 10,000 non-terrorist immigrants working for a whole year to generate enough surplus– for plutocrats, not actual terror victims– to equal the weregild owed by one terrorist immigrant (or first-generation child like Major Hassan). If we didn’t average immigrant Chinese scientists in with the Pakistani truck drivers, that number would be rather larger. If we added the costs of so-called anti-terrorist programs to the bill, the number of immigrants required to pay it would be very much larger. The budget of the Department of Homeland Security (which is just a fraction of the US Government spending attributed to terrorism) is $40 billion/year. Suppose that as little as 1/4 of it is spent on “anti-terror:” $10 billion/year. That would consume the total surplus of 400,000 average immigrant workers– except that the government does not collect that surplus– it just taxes the people who do at an average rate of about 20%. So in fact it takes roughly 2,000,000 average immigrant workers to pay for just the anti-terror portion of the Homeland Security budget. That is roughly all of the moslem immigrants in the US. In other words, under the most pro-immigration calculations I can offer with a straight face, assuming Pakistani truck drivers are every bit as valuable to the country as Chinese scientists, all the moslem immigrants in the USA are worth zero (or less; negative value) to the modal native American. (And we haven’t even discussed the cost of non-terrorist immigrant crime, the cost to everyone else of the immigrants’ children, the cost of native workers displaced into unemployment, etc.)

The average cost of American healthcare per hour worked in the US is about $12 (I learned that one from Peter Shaeffer and verified it from DHHS publications myself). That means people earning less than, say, $20/hour are flat-out incapable of paying for their own healthcare in America (even counting taxes paid by their employers on the surplus they generate). So every immigrant who commands wages less than that is a drain on the public purse even before we consider any other costs at all.

About 1/8 of America’s population is (what Americans call) black. Roughly 1/6 of America’s black population is smarter than the less-smart half of the white population– so it is a grievous error to assume every black American you meet is not smart. Sadly, though, about 5/6 of the black population is less smart than the more-smart half of the white population. Only a tiny fraction of the black population is as smart as the top 1/6 of the white (or east asian) population. Because of this, it is generally impossible to fill US school or job openings with the smartest applicants and end up with proportional (1/8) representation of black Americans. The more selective the school or job, the less likely racial balance will fall out of any performance-oriented selection process.

* More than 80% of lawsuits are accounted for by less than 4% of the population

* The most effective way to evaluate the quality of a neighborhood is to find out the percentage of children who reside in 2-parent family households (Sailer has also recommended counting the number of attractive females as an index of neighborhood quality).

* Demographic percentages (USA);

62 % White
13% Black
17% Latino
5% Asian
2% Jewish
2% Gay

* In any given year, around 60,000 recorded rapes are perpetrated by black men in white women in the USA. In an given year, ‘statistical zero’ rapes are perpetrated by white American men against black American women.

The Republicans Get The Simple Life

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* Life becomes immeasurably simpler for Republicans if they come to terms with the fact that they’re the White People’s Party, or as Steve puts it, the Party of the Core. Trump is leading the party to this promised land. Once they accept who they are representing, then sensible policies can flow like water because there would be a connection between party purpose and party policy.

* I recall a few incidents where I’ve had real-life conversations with Bernie Sanders fans and they’re going on and on about his plan to bring Danish socialism to America and I ask them to clarify a few things that I don’t understand. I ask them why I’ve never heard them, or Sanders, talk about how they’re going to ethnically cleanse America to bring about the racial homogeneity which is a necessary precondition to having a sharing society. Then I keep a blank expression on my face and await an answer, looking as though I’m genuinely curious. Suffice to say that after a few rounds they can’t point to a diverse society that makes their desired socialism work and they’re frustrated that reality is kicking them in the nads.

* That’s the thing about mass immigration: It turns the country into a giant commons. And “grab what you can” is the inevitable response to a commons. See Garret Hardin’s original formulation (The Tragedy of the Commons or Matt Ridley’s discussion in The Origins of Virtue: Human Instincts aned the Evolution of Cooperation).

One fundamental difference between Republican voters and Democrat voters is that Democrats generally view the country as a commons, while Republican voters are committed to the perpetuation of the country as a going concern. This ties in with Steve’s views on affordable family formation, as those who live where family formation is affordable are more likely to view the country as a going concern, although the arrow of causation can also point in the other direction as those predisposed to the going-concern viewpoint will re-locate to where the environment is more suitable for their productive (and reproductive) project.

* From an HDB point of view, what should be done with sociopaths/psychopaths? Forcible sterilization?

* While Frum seems to “understand” the concerns of middle/working class Republicans, he doesn’t really seem to feel himself to be a part of them, or very sympathetic to them. Instead he seems to be treating them as just one more group whose wishes need to be considered, and gives their concerns – concerns about rewarding indolence, graft, and illegality – no moral weight whatsoever. The white middle class is only important because of their share of the voting base, not because their ideals are any better than those of Wall Street banksters, champagne socialists, or welfare queens.

Just as bad, and just plain damn naive, is how Frum seems to think that Wall Street support for open borders is just some minor policy point which they’d be willing to discard if “GOLLY GEE, THEY ONLY JUST UNDERSTOOD THE CONCERNS OF REGULAR AMERICANS A LITTLE BIT BETTER.”

That’s laughable. Wall Street has been committed to open borders since at least the George H. W. Bush Administration. Since the early 2000s that support has gone into overdrive. They are obsessed with driving down American wages, obsessed with increasing their customer base, and obsessed with disenfranchising the middle class Americans who have stymied them in the past. It is a central tenet of their ideology. It is non-negotiable. Does Frum really think that all the lies and betrayals on immigration by the elite, and the open, decade-long push by them to eliminate our borders, even in the face of extreme national security concerns, are just the result of some simple misunderstandings? He’s got to be high.

Requiring Immigrants To Buy Insurance

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* Singapore does just this for the legions of guest workers from the Philippines, Indonesia and so on who work there on employment visas. Employers are required to put up a security bond for $5,000 to the government to ensure good conduct by the domestic worker (i.e. going to ground as an illegal, moonlighting and so on).

Note that the idea holds both the employer, who sponsors the visa, and the foreign worker, to account. The idea is easily extended to other classes of immigrants, if necessary with tweaks to the monetary penalties and rules to be followed.

The free market has stepped in and insurance companies provide the bond for an annual insurance premium. It’s a well developed market.

Here are the conditions laid down by the government of Singapore. They are worth a look.

* TB was almost non-existent in the USA until we started letting illegals in by the millions.

* Does current immigration-logic (invite the identical refugees you’re invading) maybe have an unspoken component where discrimination-against-Muslims is seen as an unspeakably dangerous step towards possible eventual discrimination-against-Jews?

I’m otherwise frankly baffled why we’re fine with reducing Iraq, Libya, Syria and Iran to smoking rubble, but not with treating their refugees as suspect.
