I was sitting around with some friends the other day. They’d all had back surgery and they still suffered from having a bad back.
They talked about their aches and pains. They talked about the trauma of surgery. They talked about problems with their spine.
And they all had zero interest at looking at their own habits of compression that were causing their problems. They had no interest in working on themselves. All they wanted was to get fixed. They wanted some doctor to come in and cut them up and fix their problem. They wanted a chiropractor to adjust them and to crack them and to fix their problem.
I was sitting around with some friends the other day who were complaining about tinnitus — a constant ringing in the ears.
They stated definitively that there was no cure and that anyone who said there was a cure was running a scam. They commiserated over the misery of the problem. They talked about somebody who committed suicide because of the problem.
All these people complaining about tinnitus? They were all dramatically compressing their necks and their spines. They had trouble for sitting long. They had debauched their kinesthesia. And they had zero interest in working on themselves to diminish their problems. They were sure tinnitus could not be fixed. And they had no interest at looking at their own habits of compression that were causing their problems.
For every hundred people who complain about health problems they’ve created through their own habits, only one person is interested in examining their own destructive habits.
PS. Alexander Technique is an excellent way to relieve back ache and tinnitus.
With both groups of people, I said that Alexander Technique helps many people with these problems, but nobody had any interest, so I shut up. Most people would rather suffer from their own bad choices than to examine themselves and to take responsibility for their lives.
