My Brunch With the Anthony Weiner Intern

GARANCE FRANKE-RUTA writes July 31, 2013 for The Atlantic:

NEW YORK — Mark Leibovich has memorialized D.C. as This Town, but it turns out “this town”-type behavior extends all the way to New York, which has just discovered its very own Kurt Bardella-by-way-of-Zoe Barnes figure in the form of — as a New York tabloid might put it — a lissome blonde former intern for Anthony Weiner by the name of Olivia Nuzzi.

Nuzzi, 20, penned a series of columns for a gossipy website about her short time on Weiner’s doomed campaign, which catapulted her onto the cover of the New York Daily News Tuesday. She earned instant internet notoriety after Weiner communications director Barbara Morgan unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade against Nuzzi in a conversation with Talking Points Memo Tuesday night.

Morgan later said she thought her epic rant was off the record. TPM says that was not the case, and either way the evening ended with Morgan apologizing to Nuzzi and Nuzzi using the political aide’s words as her new Twitter bio: “Slutbag, twat and cunt. Writer for NSFWCORP.” On Wednesday, she accepted Morgan’s apology.

I happened to meet Nuzzi on a Sunday morning two weeks ago with Dave Weigel of Slate. We decided to go to brunch at the Breslin, and Nuzzi joined us there at Weigel’s invitation. I was confused at first as to what her connection to Weigel was, since they appeared not to have met before, and she seemed very young (she’s a junior at Fordham University). As it turns out, a former cable host she’d once sought to intern with suggested she get in touch with Weigel when he was in the city at some point.

Nuzzi was looking for advice on how to break into journalism, and, in particular, how to get a foothold in TV. All of her friends wanted to be TV pundits, she said. It’s what they idolized.

Despite efforts to cast her as a “mercenary hobag” intern selling out her boss for 15 seconds of fame, Nuzzi’s columns for the Daily News and NSFWCORP were not her first forays into political journalism, or even into writing about a politician who was her boss. She’s also written for Alternet, the Huffington Post, and two small New Jersey publications, More Monmouth Musings and the triCityNews. There, she penned a series of columns about New Jersey politics, including some in 2011 about the District 11 Democratic campaign, for which she was also an intern.

I was impressed by the way Nuzzi coupled a kind of self-conscious sexpot appearance with an unexpectedly deep knowledge of New York and New Jersey politics. She friended me on Facebook shortly thereafter (the picture above is one she had made public on the site).

Morgan described Nuzzi as someone who aggressively courted a position with the campaign. “I can tell you she … like accosted me at like our petitioning thing to be able to become my intern, begged me to be my intern, sent me something within like 20 minutes of meeting her and then proceeded to — she came in the next day and was like, basically, ‘I want to be your bitch all summer long, that’s all I want to do is be your right-hand person,'” Morgan told TPM. “I was like, ‘OK, well, it’s not really glamorous, like, you’re going to do clips, and you’re going to do media catching, and you’re going to do x, y, and z and maybe I’ll get you to the point where you’re like doing some other stuff.”

There was no question when I met Nuzzi that she was on the make. But then so are plenty of other young journalists — the difference is that they are usually men. It’s actually rather rare to meet a young aspiring woman journalist who is as aggressively networky and career-oriented as Nuzzi. Or as willing to burn bridges.

Oh — and to that photo on the cover of the News? It wasn’t a newspaper photoshoot, but one of several pictures taken by fashion photographer Sofia Colvin during the spring. Nuzzi had been using them as her Facebook photos for months.

Somehow I won’t be surprised if she gets her moment on TV sooner because of all of this, though for now she’s been turning down appearances in favor of work where she’s the content creator, not the content.

Trump Needs To Lose 20 Pounds

CNN: Donald Trump, the man whose doctor claims would be the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” doesn’t exercise, wants to lose at least 15 pounds and is on medication to control his cholesterol.
Those are the some of the things the Republican presidential nominee discussed on the “The Dr. Oz Show” Wednesday morning, according to audience members that CNN interviewed after the taping…

Here is what we learned about Trump’s health, according to the audience members who were inside “The Dr. Oz Show” taping:

Trump would like to lose some weight. “Trump said he should lose 15 to 20 pounds,” said audience member Sheldon Hosten.

So how much does Trump weigh, anyway? He’s 6’3″ and weighs 236 pounds, according to Villa’s recollection (some other publications said the weight mentioned at the taping was 267 pounds).

Trump is on Statins — drugs that help to lower cholesterol.

Presumably thanks to the drugs, Trump’s cholesterol level is now normal.

We all know Trump loves to play golf. Well, he wishes he were doing it more: “He said ‘yes,’ he would like to play golf more — he used to play more golf,” audience member Giulia Trojer said.

Trump also claimed he’s good enough to play with the PGA, according to audience member Kelly Platt.

Trump proudly eats a fair amount of fast food when he’s out on the road. According to Platt, Trump said he instructs the person picking up his food order to refrain from saying the food is for Trump — because he worries the food may be tampered with.

Comments at Steve Sailer:

* Trump needs to cut the carbs and do some moderate cardio. If he got his carbs down to less than 150g per day then he wouldn’t need the statins.

Cholesterol is a crucial element in human health. The war on cholesterol was a fraud from the start. Just like almost all of our other wars by the way.

Trump’s extra lbs are also due to high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated vegetable oils no doubt. They have put this crap in most all processed foods. His face looks puffy and not so healthy.

Does Hillary Have Parkinson’s Disease?

I’ve been taking provigil for four years so that I can be more alert and focused.

TruePundit: We know now that as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton dispatched her executive staff in the State Dept. to help conduct research on Provigil, a controlled drug often prescribed for patients suffering from Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Provigil is often used to help such patients stay awake and curb extended bouts of sleep. The drug is also used to treat narcolepsy.

In a series of emails spanning from August to Oct. 2011, Clinton asks and receives information from her trusted inner circle on the drug Provigil, including the side effects of the pick-me-upper drug favored by long-haul truckers to stay awake for long periods of time.

Clinton refuses to release her medical records to the public. Last week, True Pundit placed a $1 million reward on the release of her full medical history. Clinton is now rumored to be suffering from a plethora of medical ailments, including:

*Dementia
*Post-concussion syndrome
*Parkinson’s Disease
*Brain tumor
*Brain injury
*Complex partial seizures
*Many more alleged ailments

One of the emails, from Jacob Sullivan on Oct. 25 2011 to Clinton, defines the benefits of Provigil, including:

“It is often prescribed to treat excessive sleep in patients with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis. Additionally, it has gained a following among students, truckers, and others who want to stay awake for extended periods of time.”

Provigil is a federally controlled substance (C-IV). Some of the drug’s side effects are quite serious and include: depression; feeling anxious; hearing, seeing, feeling, or sensing things that are not really there (hallucinations); an extreme increase in activity and talking (mania); thoughts of suicide; aggressive behavior, and other mental problems.

COMMENTS AT STEVE SAILER:

* It’s also possible that Bill brought her some strange VD. Given to him no doubt by a Russian honeytrap in order to get to her.

* I’m thinking the moment Trump won was the night the media got those cops killed in Dallas.

BLM lost momentum not because of the killings but the scenes of people running away from the gunfire while the cops ran towards it.

* My wife is a physician, and upon examining the video said it was definitely a seizure, and that the problem is neurological in nature. Pneumonia and dehydration and all that are just disinformation put out by Killary’s campaign (note that they may not necessarily be untrue, but they’re designed to obfuscate the truth).

* Steve Sailer: That was my immediate unspoken reaction to the news from Dallas.

* I live a 15 minute drive from Berkeley and go there semi-frequently and I have noticed a real absence of Hillary bumper stickers. Even many of the Bernie ones have evaporated. Of course, they easily outnumber Trump stickers but it is almost as if this time around, people are afraid she will fail again.

Occasionally, I will hear a car or truck honk their horn and get a thumbs up cause of my Trump 16 sticker. Other times, I will look in my rear view mirror and see someone else either trying to see what I look like or avoiding eye contact. I feel like a shitlord. I am proud to say the first one I saw was on my car and still can count the number I have spotted on one hand. Clearly they are hiding. There have always been kooky political stickers on cars but in the tolerant (that is a sticker) but never was a risk attached till now. The first time someone saw it they said they were surprised someone had not thrown a brick through my back window. Looking at it I chuckled until I noticed that my son’s car seat was directly in front of it.

* I have no idea if he is right, but the point about the blue sunglasses is interesting. There is a lot of info about blue sunglasses for Parkinson’s prior to Hillary rocking them on 9/11. I was wondering myself why she went so matrix on 9/11.

* I’m thinking Hillary lost when she fell on camera at the 9\11 memorial service. A heck of lot of voters saw that video. It was posted on a Sunday when people are off work and had time to screw around surfing the internet, and it was linked everywhere, even on mainstream websites.

There are a lot of low-information voters who don’t like to read, and they’re too busy working a job to pay close attention to politics. But these people are visually-minded. They like movies, TV, and Youtube. For them, a 20-second video is worth 100 editorials, and they trust their eyes. I think this crowd, which included many undecideds, was shocked when they saw Hillary lurching from side to side like a drunk and then collapsing. The polls firmed up immediately afterwards, and Trump’s numbers increased.

* Yes, the video was her Waterloo. Everybody is visually-oriented. Millions of years of lizard-brain evolution. Policy this, policy that, bla bla bla; she’s dying, or looks like it. Nothing abstract about that. Nothing political about that. It just is.

* What’s Hillary’s weight and BMI?
She looks to be around 5’6″ high and 220 pound around. She also has scoliosis/curvature of the spine when viewed from the back.
What a mess.

Orthodox Judaism Will Be The Last Stand Of Implicit White Identity II

Comments at Steve Sailer:

* Even most of the excellent non ghetto public schools in California are majority Nonwhite, Asian to be exact. Your White kids will not get beat up for being White in these schools, but they might feel racially isolated and not make any friends because most Asians in California only like to hang out with other Asians. Asian bubbles are a huge problem in California because it indicates a lack of assimilation into the American mainstream. Asians in California are tribal cliquish on steroids.

Good luck making any friends if you are a White person who lives in The San Gabriel Valley, Cupertino, Milpitas, or Daly City for example.

* Tell me again how heroic the “Greatest Generation” was?

They inherited an entire continent and they lost it. They had the moral and physical power to stand up to open borders and mass 3rd world immigration, but they were cowed into silence.

All in exchange for a pat on the head about how they had “saved freedom” by giving Stalin half of Europe.

On their watch, the country went from 90% White to less than half White in the under five category.

* This demographic change in America’s K-12 population is bad news for Blacks who believe their Black kids can only get a good education if they attend Magic Dirt schools with a large White student body.

Remember the Left always say Blacks on average academically underperform because they attend extremely Black racially segregated schools. Blacks need to rub the heads of White students for academic good luck. Blacks can’t learn if all of their classmates racially look like them.

* The contrast in commercial activity between low income Hispanic & black areas is pretty jarring, yet seldomly commented upon. I’ve noticed this in the DC area.

Hispanic areas are full of an array of restaurants, stores and other services. Whereas the black areas have some fast food joints, liquor stores & storefront churches.

The black areas there are security bars everywhere. Few buildings without them not so much in the Hispanic areas.

* I’ve noticed the lack of any activity in Black neighborhoods as well. I live very close to one and often take the bus through there, and have looked for apartments in Black neighborhoods (the one I live next to is supposed to be the new hot thing on the real estate market, but there is no visible sign of that). And I have noticed that Latino neighborhoods do have commercial activity.

Its a fair and interesting question as to why this is the case. Of course, there are two other types of neighborhoods with no commercial activity, both typically white with high -often very high- real estate values. The first are certain residential suburban neighborhoods where commercial activity is illegal due to restrictive covenants or zoning. The second are hyper-gentrified urban neighborhoods where all the apartments are owned by foreign investors who are using them as places to park their money and don’t live there, so all the stores and restaurants die. The latter type are not common, but there are several examples in Manhattan where I used to live.

Since I like seeing commercial activity when I walk around, I’ve learned to avoid very low income Black neighborhoods* and very high income White neighborhoods. But I’m obviously more familiar with the reasons for the lack of businesses in the high income places.

* yeah, street crime, but interestingly enough the only times I have been mugged have been in the deserted high income places.

Mosaic: ‘In the Safe Spaces on Campus, No Jews Allowed’

Mosaic magazine: “College students have risen up to fight racism on campuses across the country. But it is often those very same students who subject Jewish students to anti-Semitism.”

That’s not a useful analysis. Who-whom is more accurate. Who is ruling over whom? People of color are not particularly fond of Jews running the show.

Buzzwords like “racism” and “anti-Semitism” are simply junk terms for conflicts of interest. “Hate speech” is speech that a group with power does not like.

Mosaic: “It was this disquieting, yet growing, trend of hate speech and crimes directed towards Jewish students within the UC system that spurred Mokhtarzadeh and Rosenberg, both Jewish sophomores at UCLA, to attend the conference. Their freshman year was punctuated by incidents of anti-Semitism that were both personal and met with national controversy. They were shocked during their first quarter in school, when students entered the Bruin Cafe to see the phrase “Hitler did nothing wrong” etched into a table. Months later, Mokhtarzadeh’s friend, Rachel Beyda, was temporarily denied a student government leadership position based solely on her Jewish identity, an event that made news nationwide. Throughout the year, they saw the school’s pro-Palestinian group, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), issue criticism of Israel that overstepped into anti-Semitic rhetoric and hate. The campus was supposed to be their new home, their new safe space—so why didn’t they feel that way?”

Safran Foer’s New Novel Explores Divorce Between Liberal Jewish Americans and Israel

Many left-wing Jews choose leftism over ethnic loyalty.

Haaretz: ‘Here I Am’ shows how because of Israel’s growing ethno-nationalism, embarrassment has replaced guilt as his generation’s dominant feeling toward Israel.

“Here I Am” is Jonathan Safran Foer’s first novel after 11 years. Jacob Bloch, its anti-hero, after one well-received novel published when he was very young, is writing for television, and doesn’t like it. His marriage which, like most marriages, started with hope, intimacy and tenderness has gradually emptied of content after 15 years, and both Jacob and Julia, his wife and future divorcee, feel that they are losing their own selves in the family they have created.

The bulk of the book is composed of scenes from a Jewish family life, much of dialogue; some of it scintillating, much of it reminds of the self-consciously virtuoso writing we have come to know from Foer’s first two highly acclaimed novels that made him a household name of the American – and ever more so the Jewish American – literary scene. His standing is reflected in the dozens of reviews appearing days after the publication of Here I Am.

Israel and Jewish American liberals

About in the middle of novel, a second story line emerges: Israel and the Middle East are shaken and largely destroyed by a powerful earthquake. [Spoiler alert: If you don’t want to lose the tension of reading, skip the next two paragraphs!] The Arab countries around Israel see the opportunity of finally destroying the Jewish State. Israel’s prime minister declares “Operation Moses,” with the goal of moving a million American Jews to Israel to help in the war effort (I don’t know whether Foer was aware that there actually was an Operation Moses to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel). Only 55,000 actually arrive, tellingly mostly over 45 years of age.

Younger Jewish Americans, it seems, can’t really see much meaning in moving to Israel and fighting for its survival, and those who come to help play no role in Israel’s surviving the ordeal. Israel’s central strategy is withdrawing from the West Bank and maintaining a blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Furthermore, Israel refuses any humanitarian aid to Palestinians, and the Israel-Palestine conflict is largely solved by Palestinians dying of a variety of illnesses.

“Infinite debate corkscrewed the question of whether those new borders were good for the Jews. Although, tellingly, the expression most often used by American Jews was good for the Israelis. And that, the Israelis thought, was bad for the Jews … [Many can’t forgive Israel] the complete and explicit abdication of responsibility for the non-Jews – the withdrawal of security forces … the blockade of aid shipments to Gaza and the West Bank.”

NYPD: Hillary Clinton Was Wearing “Invisible” Earpiece To Receive Stealth Coaching During Live NBC TV Town Hall

REPORT: Hillary Clinton was sporting a mini earbud wired to receive stealth communications from her campaign handlers during Wednesday’s Commander-in-Chief Forum carried live on NBC from New York City, True Pundit has learned.

While Clinton was fielding questions from NBC’s Matt Lauer and the public Wednesday night on live television, a quiet buzz started circulating in New York law enforcement circles about Hillary’s left ear. NYPD sources involved with the NBC forum’s security detail confirm Clinton was wearing an ‘inductive earpiece,” the same technology employed by almost all lead Broadway actors to receive forgotten lines and stealth off-stage cues from directors. The flesh-colored earbud is easily concealed. There are no wires running directly to the ear like you see with the units employed by Secret Service protection detail personnel.

The skin-tone piece Clinton was wearing, however, was somewhat different from the standard issued stealth earpiece and is much different in appearance from a hearing aid. This unit is considered a “micro” earbud which contains all the technology but is a fraction of the size with a very high price tag. In fact, most of the units this size, approximately 3mm or comparable to a small pearl stud earring, are normally issued to law enforcement or corporate security teams, sources said. At a size that small, the earbud is designed to sit inside the opening of the ear canal, almost invisible to anyone. However, the unit does move and shift along with its wearer and at times can slightly pop out of the canal and require a quick readjustment, experts said.

Ironically, the revelation that Clinton was wearing such a unit might have only been recognized because of astute NYPD officers attached to her security detail who are accustomed to seeing the stealth apparatus at stage shows, conventions and security personnel of VIPs and international dignitaries at the United nations and elsewhere in the five boroughs. Likewise, NYPD detectives employ a parallel technology to communicate during undercover Ops.

Based on experts familiar with the technology, the stealth earpiece operates on a bandwidth from 300 Hz to 4KHz. Many such units are powered by SONY. The range of the unit can be unlimited depending on how the back end is set up. Technically, you could receive cues from 100 feet away or from someone sitting in Washington D.C. while you sat in New York City, experts said. The set up and range is flexible based on need and use. The unit does not require Bluetooth to operate via short distances but long range operations would require Bluetooth, which is easily configured.

Politico’s Relentless Campaign Against Donald Trump

Sometimes you will find five, six, seven negative articles about Trump on the front page of Politico.com.

In this new article, it says: “Her campaign initially said she was “overheated” but later revealed that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia.”

You can only “reveal” something that is true. How does Politico know that what the Clinton campaign said was true? How does Politico know that it was pneumonia that turned her into a mess on Sunday?

John Rivers: ‘Jews, like Whites, are old. Their fertility is low. They are being replaced by younger, more fertile ethnic groups in America.’

Chaim Amalek writes: This is an interesting problem in math and demographics that I would tackle if I had access to the right data. Yes, it is true that the world of old Jews, Hollywood Jews, Secular diversity-embracing Jews etc. population is falling – fast. HOWEVER, over in Brooklyn, the population of Hasidic and other ultraorthodox Jews is exploding. Already, the children of orthodox Jews make up a majority of all Jewish children in New York City (under 5? Under 18? I wish I had the figures). Assuming that they grow into breeders like their parents – and given how they are being socialized, heavily insulated from Western culture, this seems likely – then at some point soon the lines cross, and the majority of Jews in this country becomes orthodox with explosive population growth. In the long run then, it is not that Jews are disappearing from America, so much as secular jews are disappearing, to be replaced by much less well educated, and much poorer Torah Jews unable to staff the Federal Reserve or run Hollywood. White goyim on the other hand, have no subgroup with such explosive fecundity to save them from their self-imposed demographic ruin. Dumb goys!
