Am I Trying To Convert Nazis?

Jews ask me why I enjoy talking to Richard Spencer, Greg Johnson, Kevin MacDonald, Roger Devlin, Mike Enoch, Eric Striker and other Alt Right types. I’m not sure why I love it, but I do love it.

It seems like 90% of my video chatters come from the Daily Stormer and I enjoy them too (though not as much as I enjoy talking with the elite intellectuals named above). They’re smart, funny and they help me better understand myself, my God, my religion, my people, and the world around me.

Jews ask me if I’m trying to convert these Nazis into philosemites. No, I’m not. I’m just talking. If I started thinking I could convert people to my way of thinking, others would sense that right away and stop talking to me. Also, my ego would get involved and I would imagine that I was some kind of Nazi whisperer. Luckily, I have no delusions about my rhetorical powers. I’m just a bloke talking to blokes about blokey things.

Max* says: “You need to do much better on the video aspect. Looks count, and everything about the visual appearance of the interview at your end was in need of improvement. Location of camera, clothes you wore, background, all of it. You were like Nixon in the Kennedy-Nixon debates. You know it occurs to me that for want of a shave and better makeup, he doomed the white race.”

Jewish Conspiracy Theories

A kindly goy tells me: You’re right that nobody who isn’t Orthodox can understand Orthodox Judaism—but that isn’t saying much from the pragmatic view, right? And I’ve thought about it some, and concluded that the Jewish religion is false now, even if it was true at some point in the past. I could be wrong, though! But I’m basing my judgment on a bit of experience with five or six Jewish friends and also on a preference for a world in which the imago dei principle is assumed, because I think without that assumption, various tribes will never even be able to agree on the basic nature of reality, let alone on values and theological stuff.

I need help in the world. Life has been justifiable, but not always easy. And I’ll take help from wherever I can get it. People who are tribal are less likely to help me, and so I suppose I’ll land on something like universalism and liberalism because I have no tribe. But I get why you’re doing differently, sort of—even if it doesn’t seem like ur ever been invited to that party myself.

Take it this way: the Cofnas paper really blew out my faith in academic argument. It changed my view, seems to have made me much darker. After that, MacDonald also seems like a sophist. This is, of course, a tactic. Obscurantism and obfuscation. And I note that the result is basically me going silent… so if this was all a Jewish plot to silence any would-be Hitlers, rest assured, it worked on me. Congrats. I can live with that.

Great getting Cofnas on. FWIW, he seems very smart to me. I don’t think it was fair the way he said the entire alt-right basically accepted KMac as gospel. But in the end it may be that we admit we were fooled, and would have been wiser simply admitting we were out of our expertise. I guess our in-group interest clouded our judgment and motivated our biased replies. So I’m comfortable bowing out now. Letting the rabbis rule & accepting their judgment in place of my own — or at least, not publicly arguing. Long live Israel.

Is this a fair takeaway from Cofnas’s refutation of MacDonald?: the Jews do play a disproportionate role in all intellectual endeavors, including, importantly, media, politics & policy. The Jews therefore played a disproportionate (but not necessarily unified) role in eviscerating WASP and white-American culture, traditions, and demographics in the second half of the 20th century… BUT… they didn’t do it as a group evolutionary strategy or out of a concern for Jewish interests. We should assume, therefore, that their motivations were the same as any other Americans’ on average. Yes?

I’m asking you because I trust your judgment more than my own on this, and because, while I’m moving on, I’d be happy to move on with as much a handle on reality as I can get. Would you say that Cofnas would accept my little summary there, more or less? Or am I still hearing incorrectly?

There is still the reality of Jewish overrepresentation. When it comes to Nobel prizes, I get it. But I don’t see how the default hypothesis fully explains the almost total control of media, for instance. Must I assume that everyone from Harvey Weinstein to Jake Tapper has an IQ of 180? Because if it’s not that, they argument has to overcome Unz’s take, even leaving aside the extraordinarily gifted. There are way more people in the Western world with IQs between 115-150 who are gentiles than there are who are Jewish. So they should own some of the major media corporations.

…but now, having conceded that I have no expertise in the science and deferring to NC, I just doubt my own thinking. And I’m happy to do that. Eventually those thoughts will stop if I ignore them, and then I can happily accept my station as a relatively successful person in a meritocratic globalist world order that was pretty-much pre-determined by genetics. Mind you, I’m still listening to you. I’m just tired of listening to me.

If reasonably smart IQ 120-130 people like us can’t effectively read a book like KMac’s,… what does that mean? Must we all simply await the ruling from the few IQ-160 ruling class types like Pinker? No use me reading Cofnas. What does Pinker day I should think about it?

I meant “what does Pinker say I should think about it?” — like, if you and I can read KMac and be persuaded, but ultimately we find out we were totally deluded when an IQ-160 comes along and reads KMac better than we did… then what’s the point of reading anything? Shouldn’t I just wait to receive my opinions from Cofnas from now on? This is the rabbinic model. It’s foreign to me, and uncomfortable — I always thought I was as competent as anyone. But it turns out I’m not. So, there’s no use having an opinion on anything I read because someone more qualified and smarter can blast all my thinking. So why waste my time like that? Even reading. Cofnas feels futile once I see his superiority. I’m just not an expert. But this model does imply a kind of hierarchy that leads to me falling silent and receiving my opinions from the authorities unless for some reason I happen to be the best educated smartest guy in the room at a given time.

Mu point is that I spent a bit of time reading MacDonald & Cofnas. And talking to you. And I came away feeling way more concerned about Jewish in-group, uh, dynamics… than I was in 2016. But Cofnas says I shouldn’t be, and everybody smarter than me tells me his paper is airtight. So I either trust myself and blow off the world’s greatest minds—and probably attribute to them some sort of in-group conniving—or I trust them (and you) and assume my own thinking is a mess somehow… even if I don’t see how or “feel” how.

My antisemitic feeling and my effort at a reasonably informed opinion must just be wrong. So, shrug. Whatever questions I still have must just be bigotry and a sort of mental virus… so I should let it go as quickly as possible, which is what I’m gonna do. Just change my focus.

Who are some gentiles that were persuaded by Cofnas? Maybe gentiles can’t think about truth, but they can only judge according to their in-group interests, and so they haven’t been able to see the light of reason even when they read Cofnas.

In a society of 1000 people, where 20 are Jewish, and Jews have a one-standard deviation advantage over whites, who are 650 of the thousand… I would be interested in seeing how a statistician would map that. Assume the average Ashkenazi IQ is 115, so 10 of the 20 have IQs below 115.

It’s not really exciting to me. It actually feels depressing to me. And it does beg Dennis’s repeated question: what is so sacred about globalist meritocracy that we should tolerate letting the Jewish ubermensch class rule over every aspect of our civilization? Would you expect me to be excited about that? Not only am I not excited, but I think it’s fake… but I also saw War Games, and I’m sick of reaching draws with the golem.

The GRE max is 800 in each section.

Cofnas: “Jews are going to dominate all the endeavors cuz they’re smarter.”

Me: “I doubt they’re smarter.”

You: “Based on what science mate?”

Me: “Jonathan Michael Kaplan and others who show that isolating x-factors is impossible.”

You: “That’s been refuted.”

Me: “Well, I disagree.”

You: “Scientists say you’re wrong.”

Me: “Are they all Jews?”

You: “75% are.”

Me: “well, whatever. Fine.”

I mean what’s the point? I do not have the credentials to argue with Pinker. I don’t actually agree with him or you, but it obvious that I’m not going to convince you or even justify my own view to you. It’s like arguing theology. I find it tedious.

I do actually feel pretty happy. I’m convinced Jews think differently than I do. I’m fine with that. And I’m fine with my way. Postmodernism. No use continuing the dialog though. Nobody Jewish is hearing me, and I’m not hearing them.

But it’s not actually socially respectable. Didn’t you see the article today about the Jewish editor of NatGeo and her example of a photo from 1918 of some aboriginals with a caption “they’re less intelligent.” And Goldberg’s comment: we don’t do that kind of thing anymore. The default hypothesis doesn’t have legs in mainstream American discourse. If it justifies Jewish dominance, then it justifies black poverty. Not happening… you’ll have some autistic Jews and some Dylann Roofs all agreeing with Cofnas. But I’m out…

Now imagine that those 10 of 1000 with IQs over 115 own ALL of the major media corporations. Never mind that at least 50 of the 650 whites also have IQs over 115. When pressed, the Jews spin it this way: “well, 4 of our 10 have IQs over 160.” And the white says, “5 of our 50 have IQs over 150.”

Change my view.

Also nepotism. I mean obviously. Which btw fine call it networking, but Jewish lawyers (no doubt) argues successfully before the Supreme Court that “discriminatory” hiring should be illegal. Back when whites networked.

Your interview with Cofnas was good. And good luck with Spencer. Maybe you can have Steven Pinker on eventually.

I can’t tell if you’re just shilling or if you’re serious when you criticize the chat for conspiracy thinking, but can I suggest an earnest answer? It is because for normie gentile Americans, even the idea that Jews have disproportionate power and influence in all intellectual endeavors sounds like a shocking conspiracy theory. To go beyond that, and read a book (KMac’s) about *why* they might have such power—to even get that far, one has to have been willing to take up highly taboo conspiratorial thinking with an open mind. You seem to have lost track of just how solid this psychological firewall protecting Jews is in the mind of the average white American. If I said to my sister that Jews have disproportionate power… that would shock and appall him. So for the few who have the (whatever it is?—courage? gall?) to break through and think about Jewish influence, try to understand how disorienting that is. Our entire civilization is a conspiracy designed to keep us from noticing. And so once you notice, of course you question the Holocaust narrative.

But like I said I can’t tell when you’re being honest anymore—if that’s just a shit-talking point to keep viewership up or expose antisemites, okay, keep at it.

What part is it that most baffles you?—the part about being shocked by the mere mention of the possibility of Jewish overrepresentation? I never met a Jewish person until I was 23, and even then they were converts. I had one pretty good friend at my school here in NC who was reform/atheist, and he seemed autistic to me, and married a gentile woman. That was in about 2009. I was 31 then. It wasn’t really until I was about 35 and only because I was reading your blog—which, btw, I was reading alongside Graham Hancock’s book “Fingerprints of the Gods” (look it up, for comparison, to understand what kind of gentile reads http://lukeford.net )… only then that I became convinced Jews were a real power in the world.

This also explains why almost all of the alt-right is atheist. Any American Christian hasn’t shown enough willingness to refuse the narrative to go over to the alt-right. If you can’t tell your mommy you don’t believe in god, then surely you won’t investigate “the Jewish question.” All your stay in your lane talk won’t be persuasive to these people because they’ve been out of their lane since they first noticed Jewish power & influence.

Just trying to help. I bet almost none of your gentile readers believe in the god/church they were raised to believe in.

No school mentions Jewish power. No television show. No church since Vatican 2. We are raised in an entire system that makes Jewish overrepresentation invisible. Does this surprise you, really? And then, when we notice — which, for me, was only when you basically insisted that I notice — there is no explanation for how blind(ed) we have been. Was it all an accident? Everyone knew, but just *forgot* to mention to two consecutive generations that Jews are basically running your entire civilization…? When we were required to watch Schindler’s List in 8th grade, do you think it came with a precís on Jewish overrepresentation? And if all of this not noticing was accidental, then I really am a wacky “conspiracy theorist.” But the other hypothesis is that the whole structure of my civilization was a conspiracy designed to hide in plain daylight this otherwise uncomfortable fact.

I had no suspicion of the lie and no consent to being lied to before I was 35.

I wish I could see a poll of gentile Americans under age 35 on the question, “Are Jews overrepresented in every intellectual endeavor in America?” Guessing 70% would say no. And if you sorted by “college educated,” the number might be 80% saying no.

You seem to think that all gentile Americans have thought carefully about Jewish overrepresentation, and that most have landed on some benign explanation, while only the freaks in your chat have spun out into this antisemitic view of things. But it’s my hypothesis that the gentiles who are not antisemitic have not thoroughly considered even the basic premise that Jews are overrepresented. This is why I think the race realism strategy is going to backfire for Jews. As you teach undergrads more and more that Ashkenazi have high IQs and therefore win all the prizes… that’s not going to help Jews.

Okay I guess that’s my take. What’s your understanding? I have a hunch that you also feel “gaslit” and surprised and disoriented… why do you think you attract all the daily stormer schizophrenic conspiracy theorist IQ-115 crowd?

It is a very weird feeling I have — I’ve experienced it before, but only a couple times, where a person I agree with has different reasons than I do for our shared assumptions or positions on stuff… and then all the sudden the difference in starting point comes into contrast. And you’re a charismatic guy and a good talker and I like you, so I have been listening carefully—but there is this whole mysterious half of your life too, and I don’t understand it very well. I have said this about my dad also, btw. Not saying you’re lying on purpose or deceptive, but I just feel like there is a sizable chunk of the pie graph of Luke that I can’t see, and so it’s hard to understand some of your argument.

In general I do think that Judaism seems to give rise to a different sort of thinking — more collectivist, more political — than my native Methodism with some latent SDA stuff in my blood. I think about morality a lot, even if I do it in unorthodox terms. I don’t like talking about “Christianity,” but as an operating system, I just acknowledge that it’s in me and dominant. So, some of the politicking of the alt-right seems debased to me. It seems unjustified metaphysically. I pray a lot, mostly just chanting, and I have never prayed about my group interest or any of that.

The difference I guess is that you have hope that science can settle this for us (or “us”), but I’m more skeptical about that… I like that really wacky almost new age stuff where people like Schopenhauer start asking whether we can even know what’s real, let alone trust our perceptions or test stuff reliably in a lab. So whereas you seem confident and motivated about all this stuff now, I feel like many truths can all be simultaneously true… and I can’t pick one. Sorry if this is annoying—my hasty retreat. It just felt disorienting, discombobulating. I feel like I tried to take in in a year what it took you 25 years to take in… it is overwhelming.

I also don’t feel like I can learn any more right now, because I can’t freely ask the questions I want to (publicly) ask in order to gain more understanding. I can learn from reading, but I’ve always learned best from talking. And the ADL (and the normies) have really disincentivized learning any more on this topic, at least in the way that I like to learn… I can tell that even you, who really are pretty impossible to offend, still have felt like “wow did he just say that?” about some of my trolls or tweets or chat posts. But that is how I learn. How do people react to what I say. What if I say a crazy thing, etc.? But the penalty is too high now.

Richard Spencer Interview

* What is the current direction of the alt right?
* You mentioned the alt right is at each other’s throats. What’s going on? W Identity Europa? TRS?
* In your interview with Israeli TV, you mentioned, “I made mistakes recently.”
* What strikes me when you are interviewed or just on a podcast or giving a speech, is that you rarely take the easy way out… Many people are glib but few people are deep.
* what is William Regnery’s role with the Alt Right?
* Is alt right fundraising going up?
* If whites have agency, then the JQ is not that big. White problems are primarily the problems of whites.
* Did Greg Conte do anything wrong at MSU?
* How did the TWP come to be your muscle at MSU?
* I suspect a lot of people on the AR desperately want your approval and if they don’t get enough of it, they resent you.
* Do you think Judaism is a group evolutionary strategy?
* In your discussion with KMAC for Altright.com, i saw a fascinating difference between your romantic philosophy and KMAC’s scientific method. You kept asking him if Jews were fundamentally in their essence a threat to white interests and he kept saying no, it is cultural choices after WWII by Jewish elites.
* Have you read the Nathan Cofnas critique of COC? What do you think?
* My chat, particularly the boots crowd rather than the suits crowd, is obsessed with holocaust revisionism. Is this a productive use of one’s time given that no leading Alt Right thinker is obsessed with WWII body counts. These same people like to say, “Richard Spencer is controlled opposition.” What are these people thinking? Why is that approach so appealing to them?
* Weakness for conspiracy theories…
* What do you think Mein Kampf? When the AR is called nazis, it is wrong denotatively but correct connotatively…because there is no meaningful difference in the Nazi Mein Kampf worldview and the AR. “The outrage against the AR is warranted” you said to Israeli TV. “the system should fear people like me.”
* Matt Heimbach?
* Eli Mosley?
* Kyle Bristow?

* What have you learned from being interviewed hundreds of times? Any patterns, cues or clues you pick up as the interview goes along?

* Vegas Tenold and his new book Everything you love will burn: “Spencer’s nationalism felt much more like an intellectual exercise performed for his own amusement than any form of deep-seated conviction.”

* Do you sorely miss the academic world or is the world you are in now sufficiently intellectually stimulating? With KMAC, I feel keenly his sense of loss of being part of the academy. His emotions are raw.

* Christians think Jews are waiting for the messiah to come…and the MSM always wants to know how you will create the white ethno-state. It’s like asking Jews how will you bring the messiah.

* You put effort into putting forward a positive vision for the AR, perhaps more than any other Anglo AR thinker.

Jason Jorjani Fancied Himself an Intellectual Leader of a White Supremacist Movement — Then It Came Crashing Down

From The Intercept:

A WEEK AND A HALF after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 presidential election, Jason Reza Jorjani took the stage at a white supremacist conference in Washington, D.C. Richard Spencer gave him an awkward hug and pat on the back before he shuffled to the podium and spoke into the microphone.

“In light of the outcome of the recent election, in which I think the rise of the ‘alt-right’ was the decisive factor,” Jorjani said, “it is especially meaningful for me to be here with you as the leader of what is frankly the most significant press in the ‘alt-right.’”

Jorjani and Spencer had not met in person until that November weekend at the conference, hosted by the National Policy Institute, a white supremacist “think tank.” The weekend was spiked with occasional Nazi salutes. Just the month before, Jorjani had become the editor-in-chief of Arktos Media, a publishing imprint for some of the most canonical texts of the far right. They soon combined forces in a shared office in a spacious loft in Alexandria, Virginia. To end any confusion over what the “alt-right” movement stood for and who its leaders were, Spencer, Jorjani, and Arktos chief executive Daniel Friberg launched the AltRight Corporation.

But as quickly as Jorjani rose within the far right’s ranks, so too did he fall. A year ago, the “alt-right” was in a campaign to rebrand white supremacy as an intellectually sophisticated movement, backed by a troll army. Yet in 2017, the far right saw its most publicly violent year full of street protests. Spencer himself seemed to have traded his glossy “think tank” networking events, like the one Jorjani appeared at, for white supremacist rallies. Spencer’s “college tour” began in 2016, according to Spencer, as a project of “intellectual activity” — but it frequently served to provide opportunity for his followers to publicly gather and shout “white power,” throw Nazi salutes into the air, and engage in violent battles with counterprotesters.

In their earlier days, Jorjani and his business partners had tried to perfume their brownshirt musings as a style of opposition intellectualism worthy of fair debate in the public sphere. When I first met Jorjani in December 2016, at the height of his rise in the far right, he proudly told me, “What happened is that a hyperintellectual, vanguardist movement used a U.S. presidential election to advance its agenda.” Over a plate of fesenjan, an Iranian stewed meat dish, and jeweled rice, he added, “The ‘alt-right’ doesn’t work for Donald Trump, it doesn’t work for the Republican Party, it doesn’t work for masses of Republican voters, and it certainly doesn’t work for evangelical Republicans.”

Anti-Semitism Is Rising. Why Aren’t American Jews Speaking Up?

Jonathan Weisman writes:

Anti-Semitic hate crimes are on the rise, up 57 percent in 2017 from 2016, the largest single-year jump on record, according to the Anti-Defamation League. That increase came on top of the rise in incidents in 2016 that coincided with a brutal presidential campaign.

I have personally seen the anti-Semitism, in online insults, threatening voice mail messages and the occasional email that makes it through my spam filter.

If not quite a crisis, it feels like a proto-crisis, something to head off, especially when the rise of anti-Semitism is combined with hate crimes against Muslims, blacks, Hispanics and immigrants. Yet American Jewish leaders — the heads of influential, established organizations like the American Jewish Committee and the Jewish Federations of North America — have been remarkably quiet, focused instead, as they have been for decades, on Israel, not the brewing storm in our own country.

But American Jews need to assert a voice in the public arena, to reshape our quiescent institutions and mold them in our image. And Jewish leadership must reflect its congregants, who are not sheep.

When the Anti-Defamation League, a century-old institution founded to combat anti-Semitism, released its guide to the “Alt Right and Alt Lite” last year, Ohio’s Republican state treasurer, Josh Mandel, who is Jewish, actually expressed support for two of the people on the list: Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec, conservative provocateurs who have found notoriety in the Trump era. “Sad to see @ADL_National become a partisan witch hunt group targeting people for political beliefs. I stand with @Cernovich & @JackPosobiec,” Mr. Mandel proclaimed on Twitter above a link to Mr. Cernovich’s screed charging that the league was trying to have him killed.

Mr. Cernovich advocates I.Q. tests for immigrants and “no white guilt,” and is an unapologetic misogynist. Last summer, he circulated a cartoon depicting H. R. McMaster, the White House national security adviser, as a dancing marionette with George Soros pulling his strings and a disembodied, wrinkled hand labeled “Rothschilds” controlling strings attached to Mr. Soros.

Mr. Posobiec has been one of the promulgators of fake news, including the “Pizzagate” story that claimed that Hillary Clinton helped run a child sex-trafficking ring out of a pizza parlor and the claim that a young Democratic National Committee staff member, Seth Rich, was murdered by the Clinton campaign.

For drawing attention to these men, the Anti-Defamation League was tarred as a partisan organization by an elected Jewish Republican. I did not see any organized effort to rally around the institution, one of the few major Jewish groups in the United States that is still not predominantly engaged in debate over Israel.

Steve Sailer comments:

Of course, as you recall, many of them were hate hoaxes perpetrated by that Jewish guy in Israel, the black leftist journalist, and who knows how many more hoaxers? But how can anybody expect New York Times editor Jonathan Weisman to remember all the way back to 2017?

…I think a fair amount of the agitation of elite journalists comes from their largely committing to Twitter a half decade ago. The seemingly minor differences in how Twitter worked from how email, comments, discussion groups and so forth had operated led to a huge growth in ethnic paranoia among their ranks, as the title of Weisman’s book suggests. (I’ll try to flesh this theory out more when Weisman’s book arrives.)

…iSteve commenter Anonym notes:

Help! The poor, defenceless Anti-Defamation League is being defamed! There needs to be some sort of organization, maybe a League, to defend the ADL. An ADL for the ADL. That’s a great idea.

But hey, what if the ADL for the ADL comes under attack by virulent anti-Semites? The only foolproof solution is an ADL for the ADL for the ADL.

COMMENTS AT STEVE SAILER:

* If they’re only 2% of the population they have to have 49 times the firepower to make up for it. Make sense?

* “Ohio’s Republican state treasurer, Josh Mandel, who is Jewish, actually expressed support for two of the people on the list: Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec, conservative provocateurs who have found notoriety in the Trump era. …”

How . . . unusual Mandel would specify those two individuals for approval. Cernovich, who may be Jewish himself (have seen conflicting info) is quite specifically NOT alt-right, believing in civic nationalism and the melting pot, and his 2nd wife is an Iranian Muslim. Posobiec is another questionable individual to much of the alt-right, both regarding his ethnicity and perceived government connections.

Otherwise this is, of course, more of the standard persecution paranoia porn common among Jews in America; cue (((Tyrion2))) from England to explain how Weisman is really not saying what you think he’s saying, Steve. He’s really a super patriotic nationalist American who’s writing a super-clever argument that actually advocates that which he theoretically denounces.

* >Mr. Cernovich advocates I.Q. tests for immigrants and “no white guilt,”

Wouldn’t that be PRO-Jewish? I mean, I’m assuming it’s the low end of the IQ distribution he wants to keep out, so wouldn’t Jews be the ones best able to take advantage of that?

I wish these people would make up their minds about whether IQ matters or not. Because it does actually tie in with the whole “no white guilt” thing. This is kind of how things go:

Person: “Man, Jewish people sure do have an awful lot of power in the media.”

ADL: “Well, you have to understand. That’s just because our IQs are so much higher!”

Person: “OK. Well then, maybe the reason white people are so much more successful than black people is because our IQs are higher than theirs? Maybe we don’t have anything to feel guilty about?”

ADL: “You’re banned from YouTube!!!”

Dealing with these people is just never very pleasant. I don’t know where they got the idea that serving as “trusted flaggers” on YouTube and getting people’s channels shut down is going to make people like them any more either.

* As Leon Wieseltier noted in a video Sailer put up a couple months back, Jews historically made vertical connections with the princes and rulers instead of horizontal connections with the local hoi polloi. Had they made these horizontal connections,…

* Jews have been quiet and polite for too long. And not only don’t they have any wealth or power, what little they do have they never use to advance their own interests. They’re always doing things for others, never for themselves. Alan Dershowitz used to make this argument.

* I’m surprised at the hostility aimed at Weisman. Isn’t he the guy who came up with the Jew-tracker regarding the Iran deal?

* “But American Jews need to assert a voice in the public arena,”

Translation = there are still goys left we need to silence.

It must be frustrating to control so much of the traditional media, entertainment industry and social media and still those dastardly goys don’t know their place

* In the old days of print media things went through editors, who kept things within limits. The leftist media now publishes a lot of things on social media, which is completely unedited, and does not seem to edit pieces very much published on regular websites. You frequently see basic errors that anyone taking a second look at the piece- even the author doing a double check- should have corrected.

Leftists have developed the habit of saying more aggressive and extreme things, and they don’t seem to realize that the subjects of their hate and contempt can read and understand what they are saying. A lot of people who didn’t used to be “anti-semitic” have become so by reading what Jews really think about them on Twitter.

* People talk about “Black Twitter”, but “Jewish Twitter” is something largely unspoken of. Not having an account myself, I’ve still seen enough screencaps to believe that it is a thing.

It is quite interesting and revealing to see journalists and media figures speaking with less of a filter.

* I have a friend (actually he’s my law partner) who is Jewish and follows the movements and polemics of white nationalism and the like with a passion. He’s convinced that there is going to be a white nationalist uprising in the Pacific Northwest very soon based on what he’s been reading.

I told him he’s crazy. Portland? Seattle? These are like the most devote liberal places in the country. They might as well be part of the EU.

Nathan Cofnas on Twitter.

Nathan Cofnas, a graduate student at Oxford University, writes:

MacDonald argues that a suite of genetic and cultural adaptations among Jews constitutes a “group evolutionary strategy.” Their supposed genetic adaptations include, most notably, high intelligence, conscientiousness, and ethnocentrism. According to this thesis, several major intellectual and political movements, such as Boasian anthropology, Freudian psychoanalysis, and multiculturalism, were consciously or unconsciously designed by Jews to (a) promote collectivism and group continuity among themselves in Israel and the diaspora and (b) undermine the cohesion of gentile populations, thus increasing the competitive advantage of Jews and weakening organized gentile resistance (i.e., anti-Semitism). By developing and promoting these movements, Jews supposedly played a necessary role in the ascendancy of liberalism and multiculturalism in the West. While not achieving widespread acceptance among evolutionary scientists, this theory has been enormously influential in the burgeoning political movement known as the “alt-right.” Examination of MacDonald’s argument suggests that he relies on systematically misrepresented sources and cherry-picked facts. It is argued here that the evidence favors what is termed the “default hypothesis”: Because of their above-average intelligence and concentration in influential urban areas, Jews in recent history have been overrepresented in all major intellectual and political movements, including conservative movements, that were not overtly anti-Semitic.

Jonathan Anomaly and Nathan Cofnas write:

George Orwell understood the psychological benefits of directing disdain toward an out-group in order to foster social cohesion among an in-group. In his great novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four, he gives the character who would receive “two minutes of hate” every day among the proletarians a Jewish name: Goldstein. It is obvious why. Orwell’s implication was that the Soviet Union and other regimes were capitalizing on a human need to have some group to hate in order to foster loyalty and obedience to the leader of the in-group.

There is some evidence in political psychology for a correlation between high IQ and liberal political beliefs. So we might suspect that Ashkenazi Jews, with the highest average IQ in the world, would lean liberal. Interestingly, though, IQ correlates positively with classical liberalism, which emphasizes both social and economic liberty. This seems to be because those with higher intelligence tend to exhibit personality traits like openness to experience and tolerance for different ways of living. But those with higher IQ are more likely to support free-market economic policies (“liberalism” in the old sense of the word). Intelligence is required to understand how trade can be a positive sum game, and how order can emerge from individuals freely interacting with one another.

The Jews and the Left: The Rise and Fall of a Political Alliance

From Australia’s ABC in 2015:

Between approximately 1830 and 1970, an informal political alliance existed between Jews and the political Left.

This was never an alliance of all Jews and all Left groups. But it was an alliance between key sections of the Left and key sections of politically active Jews at various times and in various places.

Both partners to this alliance were motivated by a combination of pragmatic self-interest and idealism or altruism.

This engagement of Jews with the political Left arguably reached its peak between approximately 1890 and 1950 covering almost the whole of Europe including massive engagement with the Spanish Civil War, the English-speaking world, Latin America, and even key countries in the Arab Middle East and North Africa.

Why the Jews?
One significant explanation for this Jewish-Left association is that Jews were victims of both class and ethnic oppression. Indeed, many Jews were poor, and a large number of Jews – whether middle or working class – were victims of persecution.

But equally some would question why the Jews, and why not instead the Armenians who were massacred by the Turks, or the Black Americans who had been forced into slavery, or the millions of other exploited workers and peasants around the world?

Another contributing factor is the implied association between Jewish religious and cultural values – such as Tzedakah and Tikkun Olam – and socialist philosophy. Many Jewish socialists were influenced by traditional Jewish values and teachings, and regularly used biblical and Talmudic symbols and analogies to analyse contemporary events. Yet the Biblical tradition is ideologically ambiguous, and few religious Jews joined the political Left.

Other contributing factors were the concentration of Jews in urban communities, given that socialism was primarily an urban rather than rural or peasant phenomenon, and the strong emphasis on education and intellectual training within the Jewish religious tradition that may have made Jews more receptive to ideas of social and political reform.

Probably the key factor is that Jews were a global tribe, a wandering people, the asylum seekers of the time. As wanderers, they had a much less parochial view of the world than other nations who were limited by national boundaries, cultures and traditions. Most people at that time did not even venture outside their own region let alone country, and were bound by narrow tribal or national loyalties. Jews were more likely to develop a universal vision because Jews were an international people per se.

Their universalism gave them a wider vision of what a perfect world for all humanity might entail. And as they moved around from Russia to Cuba to South Africa to Palestine, they recreated the same diverse Left-wing groupings that had existed in their former country – Bundist, Communist, Labour Zionist, socialist or social democratic, and even Anarchist and Trotskyist.

Additionally, Jews provided the genuinely internationalist faction within the workers movement. Jewish workers of the world did unite, and actively collaborated with their family members and friends and comrades in many other parts of the world who shared a common political culture, and mostly spoke the same Yiddish language. Their multi-lingual skills and transnational connections enhanced the global production and distribution of socialist propaganda and theory, and were so often effectively utilized to advance the purposes of the revolution.

Yet, there were always tensions between Jewish universalism, which implied that international human welfare would take precedence over specific Jewish concerns, and Jewish particularism, which prioritized Jewish well-being.

How Jewish were these Leftists?
So often historians refer to the unsympathetic comments of one or two famous Jewish revolutionaries such as Trotsky or Rosa Luxemburg, and suggest that all Jewish radicals were self-hating or at least non-Jewish Jews. But in fact, the large mass of Jews who became Bundists or Left Zionists or joined universal Left parties or movements actively integrated their Left and Jewish identities.

Prominent left-wing figures such as Leon Blum in France and Eduard Bernstein in Germany maintained their connections with the Jewish collective, and thousands of Jews voted for social democratic parties in Great Britain, Australia and much of Western Europe, or alternatively supported liberal parties as in the United States. Equally, identities were fluid, and some moved from particularist Jewish to universal identities, and others shifted back from internationalist to more Jewish-identifying activism.

Why did the alliance break apart?
The most obvious factors in the decline of this Jewish-Left alliance are the key chronological events of the Holocaust, the formation of the State of Israel and the onslaught of Soviet anti-Semitism. The Holocaust decimated the breeding grounds of Jewish radicalism in Eastern and Central Europe and destroyed the faith of many Left-wing Jews in universal ideas, given the failure of the great workers movements of Europe to combat Nazi anti-Semitism.

In contrast, the creation of Israel provided Jews with a positive alternative source of protection in the form of a strong Jewish state where any persecuted Jews could potentially find refuge. Additionally, Israel reframed the domestic political agenda of many Jews from the protection of minority rights where they were living to the defence of the Jewish homeland through the establishment of pro-Israel advocacy or lobby groups.

The revelations of Soviet anti-Semitism in the early- to mid-1950s ended the dalliance of many Jews with Communism, including the attraction to the proposed Jewish national homeland in Biro-Bidzhan which had earlier been widely viewed as a possible alternative to Palestine.

All these factors, along with the dramatic post-1945 decline in Western anti-Semitism, the overwhelming middle classing of Jews in the West, the post-1967 emergence of Left-wing anti-Zionism sometimes converging with anti-Semitism, the decline of the political Left in Israel and the end of the wandering Jew phenomenon, combined to reshape both internal Jewish politics and outsider perceptions of Jewish politics.

Why then were Jews so heavily involved in the New Left of the 1960s?
Jews were disproportionately involved in the 1960s student movement known as the New Left, particularly in the United States, Australia, Britain and France. Some of the key factors that contributed to this prominence included the significant number of Jewish students at key universities that were at the forefront of student activism, the impact of left-wing family backgrounds on many Jewish students, the general influence of Jewish cultural values and experiences based on a synthesis of universalistic social justice beliefs with secular Jewish values and morality, and the impact of the Holocaust which generated a passionate abhorrence for racism and injustice.

The Jewish student radicals incorporated the whole spectrum of Jewish identity, from those who either rejected or expressed ambivalence about their Jewishness to those whose radical and Jewish commitments were closely aligned.

Greece: Woman goes to refugee solidarity event, gets gang-raped by Muslim migrants

From Grumpy Elder:

A 23-year-old Greek woman and her boyfriend relived scenes of horror in the court of Thessaloniki last week. The woman was gang-raped by three migrants from Syria and Algeria more than a year ago.

…the female victim and her boyfriend attended a solidarity event for refugees at their university in the city of Thessaloniki

After the party, the student and her boyfriend were passing through the university’s yard, when suddenly three migrants attacked them with broken bottles and tied them up.

The immigrants forced the woman to perform oral sex and robbed her, while at the same time, only a few meters away, the solidarity event to support refugees was in full swing.

The Greek police managed to arrest 3 immigrants, aged 19, 22 and 29, from Algeria and Syria for the rape case. Inside the men’s apartment, the police found drugs, 5,500 euros in cash, as well as stolen jewellery….

Everything You Love Will Burn: Inside the Rebirth of White Nationalism in America

Vegas Tenold writes:

* Richard Spencer, the man who had coined the term alt-right and, by 2016, had become its de facto leader and also a proud Trump supporter, once told me that he saw himself and the rest of the movement as the ideological kitchen for the far-right positions, which Trump, by osmosis, made his own. Even though Spencer and Matthew very much disliked each other, they agreed that the Trump campaign was co-opting their ideas. Others in the alt-right movement were more skeptical of Trump but still grateful for his candidacy, believing he would be a gateway drug to white nationalism. Whatever the truth of the relationship was, Trump’s ascendancy had created a sense of urgency and vigor on the far right that its members had never felt before, and now they were all scrambling to capitalize before Trump inevitably screwed up and lost to Hillary Clinton. In separate interviews Matthew, Jeff, and Richard Spencer had all told me the same thing: this was their moment.

* Klansmen. To people like Richard Spencer, the KKK and the neo-Nazis were obscene and outdated, and unless Matthew could convince Spencer and his comrades that there was value within his ranks, then his alliance, although certainly an unprecedented achievement, would still be largely irrelevant.

* Matthew was part of the boots faction of the nationalist movement, Spencer was the apotheosis of a suit. He was affluent, well educated, and well spoken. He had a degree from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and an unfinished doctorate from Duke. He wore tweed, drank tea, and mixed an air of affected intellectualism with the smug arrogance of every evil fraternity kid from 1980s college movies. He and Matthew had never met, but Matthew had written him off as a cocktail-sipping asshole who was afraid to get his hands dirty; I suspected that Spencer likewise had little love or understanding for Matthew. Spencer’s nationalism felt much more like an intellectual exercise performed for his own amusement than any form of deep-seated conviction. He would casually throw out some outrageous statement and then sit back and enjoy the carnage. His politics revolved around what he called identitarianism, which he explained as identifying first and foremost as a white man of European descent. It was a bastardization of identity politics that assumed that whites—and white males in particular—had similar political interests based on being white and male alone, but he’d managed to create a following for himself through it. He once tweeted that “all women want to be taken by a strong man” and was an early proponent of Donald Trump. Somehow he and a cadre of other nationalists had been able to mount a virtual army from disgruntled internet dwellers, misogynists, racists, and self-proclaimed firebrands that, in their own minds at least, had given Trump the presidency.

* …flailing for an answer to what the hell had happened, Richard Spencer and the alt-right seemed as good an answer as any. This, of course, was giving Spencer too much credit and Trump too little. Even though race was still very much an issue, the alt-right’s reach was limited. In the month before the election Richard Spencer, by far the most well-known member of the alt-right, only had roughly eighteen thousand followers on Twitter. Certainly a muscular number, but hardly enough to sway a presidential election. I’d spoken with Richard a few times over the phone during the campaign, and he seemed to have been growing increasingly enamored of Trump as his scattershot campaign threw a grab bag of conspiracies, misogyny, xenophobia, and baffling stupidity against a wall to see what would stick. Throughout our conversations he displayed first a jaded lack of enthusiasm, which gave way to cautious hope and eventual full-throated support for Trump. His support, however, was less based on Trump’s actual political stances, which Spencer himself would admit were all over the place, and more with what he believed Trump represented about US society. Not only was the country waking up to the importance of race; it was also shedding the exhausting shackles of political correctness. More than any political issue, the alt-right treasured their right to be infinitely offensive, preferably toward women or minorities, always under the banner of free speech, and with Trump as their candidate, the malcontents of the world had someone championing their right to be abusive.

I met Spencer in a noisy restaurant in the DC suburbs, where he lived on and off and maintained a barebones headquarters for his think tank, the prosaically named National Policy Institute (NPI). NPI’s main function was to throw an annual conference for the other suits of the movements and to publish the Radix Journal, a quasi-intellectual blog and journal in which Spencer and others pontificated on Jews, political correctness, women, and other things that concern them. He sat under a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall and watched with a look of bemusement as his own face flickered across the screen intercut with shots of young, white men with arms outstretched in salute and concerned-looking cable news panelists. The NPI conference was just over and had ended with shouts of “Hail Trump!” The whole thing had been caught on video and had prompted, after much prodding and pulling, Donald Trump to denounce the alt-right while still denying he had done anything to energize them. Spencer wasn’t so much disappointed at the denouncement as he was happy that Trump had given them a shot at the limelight in the first place. As he saw it, Trump may not have created the alt-right, and the alt-right may not have handed Trump the election, but the two were deeply intertwined ideologically. And with Trump in the White House and Stephen Bannon, the former CEO of alt-right mouthpiece Breitbart News, as a close adviser, the alt-right now had a seat at the table.

Spencer sipped his tea and watched the spectacle with a shit-eating grin. “It’s nuts, right? I mean it’s nuts,” he said, grinning as if the outrage he had caused was an actual and delicious flavor he could savor. “A year ago nobody knew who I was, and today I’m turning down interviews all over the place.” Spencer was the gift that kept on giving to journalists desperate to put a face on the alt-right. He was articulate, happy to talk, could be trusted to say offensive things, and also, seemingly to the surprise of everyone, didn’t look like a monster. Josh Harkinson, writing for Mother Jones, in a moment of breathlessness, described him as “An articulate and well-dressed former football player with prom-king good looks and a ‘fashy’ (as in fascism) haircut.” The articles often focused on Spencer’s education and distinctly unextreme demeanor as something that set him apart from traditional white supremacy in America, ignoring the fact that American nationalism had always had “intellectual” factions and that it is quite possible to be a white supremacist and smart at the same time. Also, Spencer was hardly the first educated man to advocate wildly racist ideas. Even within his sphere there were men who had been peddling their shtick of pseudo-scientific nativism for decades. [Jared] Taylor, who had inspired both Spencer and Matthew, debuted his publication American Renaissance in November of 1990, and many had been doing it for even longer. The novelty with Richard Spencer, apart from having had the good fortune of coming up with the term alt-right, was that he understood the power of the internet to build and mobilize a following. Where former incarnations of the far right had been reliant on rallies, concerts, and compounds to recruit and mobilize, Spencer and his minions needed only their smartphones and an endless appetite for disruption and offensive behavior. Matthew had a leg in each camp. He was savvy enough when it came to proselytizing on social media but much more comfortable taking his show on the road.

Still, what Twitter giveth, Twitter also taketh away, which is why Spencer had been in an indignant outrage when we spoke a couple of days before. He’d been kicked off Twitter for inciting hatred, which was like giving a speeding ticket to a Formula 1 driver, and now he had lost his most important way of communicating with the world. “I’ve been beheaded,” he said dramatically. “Exterminated. Gagged. Honestly the whole thing is a witch hunt. It’s deeply undemocratic, but they’re crazy if they think they can silence me. I’m getting more attention than ever.” The alt-right had become marvelously adept at playing the victim when something they said invariably got them in trouble, a strategy that served them well, allowing them to act persecuted and adding to the narrative that white men are the real victims in an unfair world. We watched for a while as CNN showed a loop of pictures of Spencer and his followers saluting Trump. A few people in the restaurant recognized him, some glaring openly and others trying to conceal their staring. Spencer raised his teacup and smiled at all of them. “This whole neo-Nazis in DC thing is so stupid,” he said. “Everyone is blowing it completely out of proportion. It was a moment of enthusiasm. We got carried away, and someone jokingly shouted, ‘Hail Trump,’ and people latched onto it. It wasn’t a political statement. It was a joke. Trolling, even.” This had been the alt-right’s typical response to any outrage and one lifted from the schoolyard bully playbook: “Come on. It was all a joke. Stop being so sensitive.” “You people are going to call us neo-Nazis anyway, so I guess a few people thought it would be fun to throw it back in the media’s faces. This was just a prank. Overenthusiasm.” Spencer acted like the magnanimous father of unruly children. Whenever his followers said or did something outrageous, he would roll out this character to great effect. “I can’t vouch for all the things these people say, but they’re my people, so I’m not going to condemn them for it either. The right needs this kind of rambunctious outrageousness, just like it needs the opposite.”

Spencer saw himself very much like the opposite. He enjoyed lobbing rhetorical bombs as much as any other troll, but he saw his role as providing the intellectual vanguard of the movement, staking out a course for others to follow. “These are the foot soldiers,” he said of his thousands of Twitter followers. “My job is to be the intellectual lodestar that provides direction. The movement needs both. It needs the Dionysian passion of the masses on the one hand and the Apollonian vision of the future on the other.” Spencer was fond of statements like these, ones that highlighted his classical education and underlined his image as a man of letters. He claimed that his main inspiration was Friedrich Nietzsche and the classical French thinkers and would say things like, “The white race has a drive that is almost Faustian in nature.” By “Faustian in nature” he meant that the white race has a drive to invent and to improve that other races lack. In his ethnocentric worldview the white race is behind every important technical advancement in the history of humanity, and his intellectual ballast is an impressive collection of cherry-picked facts that support his opinions. He believes we are living in end times, not in an apocalyptical way but in a paradigmatic one. He told me that the America that emerged after World War II, a country in which equality and togetherness were cherished ideals, is coming to an end and that Trump is the first horseman of this apocalypse. “We’re seeing the end of white America,” he said, echoing the thousands of nationalists before him who had lamented the progress made by other races. “But more importantly perhaps, we’re seeing the end of unconscious white America. We’re witnessing the collapse of the heady liberalism of color blindness and the rise of an explicit racial consciousness on the part of white people. We’re not completely there yet—people in Michigan who voted for Trump didn’t do it because they support the alt-right—but unconsciously many whites are voting for their race.”

Spencer believes that for everyone else but whites, race is their first form of identification. A black man first and foremost identifies as a black man, whereas whites have been told over and over that this is wrong and racist, so their first form of identification comes in the form of political allegiances—“I’m a conservative/liberal/libertarian”—or geographic connection—“I’m a New Yorker!” This, according to Spencer, is a fundamental problem with whites. “We’re just too stupid and cucked to think in these terms,” he said. “In some ways African Americans are a lot smarter than us. They get it.”

I never knew if he really believed that African Americans could be smarter than whites, just as I never truly knew if Matthew believed that other races could be as good as, if not better, than whites. Perhaps they had learned a lesson from previous incarnations of nationalists that white supremacy wasn’t going to win hearts and minds, or perhaps they really had evolved into a more magnanimous form of nationalists. Could it be they were serious when they said, “White pride, not white power?”

Matthew told me several times that he respects and sympathizes with the poverty of African Americans and Latinos in Chicago. The way the United States incarcerates black people in staggeringly higher numbers than it does whites disgusts him. He laid down flowers outside the Emanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston after Dylann Roof’s shooting spree. Spencer said similar things. “White suffering isn’t worse than black suffering. It’s just not the thing.”

“This is when we need to go to work,” Spencer continued as the news coverage finally ended. The general of an army composed of mostly nameless avatars on Twitter, Spencer felt the challenges of turning a counter-culture into a viable political movement even more acutely than Matthew, whose followers, although fewer than Spencer’s, were real-life people willing to march in the streets. “I realize that the alt-right to this day has been mostly online, but the internet is what has gotten us this far. Thirty years ago this movement wouldn’t have been possible. Matthew Heimbach may be fighting in the streets while I sip martinis, but I’m fine with that. We need to build an intellectual footprint too, and that can’t happen in the streets.” Still, Spencer was keenly aware of the limitations of the internet when it came to capitalizing on the momentum they had gained, and he worried about the movement being aborted by private companies banning the alt-right from online platforms. Facebook and Twitter were both tinkering with new rules governing hate speech, as was Reddit, the home of nihilistic, alt-right spawning pool 4Chan. In the paranoid echo chambers of the far-right forums, the Jews who controlled the media, ever walking a tightrope between making money on their products and controlling their users, were beginning to clamp down on freedom of speech. This was ostensibly to prevent terrorism, but the alt-right suspected more nefarious reasons afoot. “Sure, it sounds paranoid,” Spencer said. “But one can easily imagine private companies removing us from their servers. We could of course have our own servers, but it would make our work infinitely more difficult. We can get kicked off social media platforms, but you can take it even further: Would Google censor search results?”

“It’s clear that we’ve been able to build a movement of online people, many of whom are anonymous,” he said. “But at some point all that energy needs to spill out into the real world for it to have any practical use. We need to meet politicians and host conferences. The alt-right would never succeed as a party. We’re influencers, and we need to take that seriously and professionalize.”

And it wasn’t exactly clear by what he meant by “professionalizing.” He was living in Whitefish, Montana, but had ambitions of building a new and bigger headquarters for NPI in DC, where he would use his newfound notoriety to coax the volatile alt-right from the digital and into the physical world. Meanwhile Matthew existed very much in the space between the virtual and the real world. He was working as a picker for Amazon, spending twelve hours a day in almost total darkness, receiving people’s orders on a screen, then scurrying through the shelves to find them—once he fetched twelve identical, plus-sized, sexy Cinderella costumes for one customer. He’d been forced to put the work with the Nationalist Front on the back burner, as his summer of rallies and marches had put a strain on his already overworked credit card, so he needed to bring in some extra cash. Also, Brooke was pregnant again, expecting their second child in June.

He called me in late December with some strange news. Richard Spencer had called Matthew to ask him if he might be interested in helping him run for Congress. Ryan Zinke, the sole representative of Montana, had been tagged to join Trump’s cabinet, and Spencer believed he could do well in the exceptionally libertarian-minded and right-wing-friendly political environment of Montana. “He really called out of the blue,” Matthew said. “I guess he realizes that I know how to talk to real people. It could be a big deal for us.” It was too late for Spencer to get on the ballot as anything other than an independent in the special election, so he needed signatures, which would mean crisscrossing the state and talking to rural voters to get them on board. Endless driving and talking to workers and farmers were what Matthew did best. “It’ll put a crimp in my work with the Nationalist Front,” Matthew said. “But it
would be worth it.” He didn’t say as much, but if there was any truth to it, then Spencer and Matthew working together would be a major development in the insulated world of the alt-right. Their relationship was a perfect metaphor for the schism between boots and suits dividing the far right, and if they could somehow work together, they would both be able to take their respective visions of the far right further: Matthew would achieve a new level of respectability with the alt-right white collars, and Spencer would gain some credibility with those who saw him as an aloof dandy.

I called Spencer and asked about it after I spoke with Matthew, and although he was cagey about the specifics, he told me that he and Matthew had indeed been talking about working together and that they would meet for a sit-down on Inauguration Day in DC.

In addition to the recent bickering over the JQ, in the days before the inauguration one of the most influential actors in the alt-right—blogger, podcaster, and virulent anti-Semite Mike Enoch—was revealed to be Mike Peinovich, a NYC-based software developer who is married to a Jewish woman. His blog, The Right Stuff, collapsed, and his audience of close to one hundred thousand regular readers scattered. Although these infractions might seem minor to anyone outside the far right, in the movement they were tectonic incidents, obsessively discussed and dissected. “Honestly, sometimes I can’t believe how dumb our movement can be,” Matthew said of the Mike Enoch affair. “We have to get serious about things if we want to move forward. This anonymous, online bullshit can’t
go on. We need to get our shit together.” The prospect of meeting Spencer excited Matthew. He maintained that he still believed Spencer was a martini-drinking asshole, but when he said it now it was in a more backslapping, locker-room-talk kind of way, whereas before he seemed almost spurned when talking about the suits. Although Matthew was in his own right a respected leader in the movement, Richard Spencer was undeniably the brighter star—and certainly got more attention from the media—so I suspected that Matthew was flattered to be asked.

FINALLY MATTHEW CAME BACK. He was elated. The meeting had gone well. In a room full of GOP strategists and state legislators he had been introduced as “the next president of the United States,” and things had only improved from there. He said that he made no attempt to hide who he was, his politics, or his affiliations and that no one seemed to have a problem with it. He said he’d spoken at length about the white working class, their problems, and how to strengthen the GOP’s hold over them. When he finished, he had been given resounding applause.

* We watched as the assailant ran off while Spencer clutched his jaw and straightened his hair. “That’s crazy,” Matthew said. They all seemed to get a tiny amount of joy from watching the guy who had snubbed them all day and who, by the looks of it, had never been in a fight in his life, meet the realities of Antifa. “I mean Spencer is kind of a dick, but damn, no one deserves getting sucker punched like that. Play it again, Miles.”

* He wound the whole thing up with a “Hail Victory,” but the nationalists behind him started their own chant, singing “Hail Heimbach” over and over. The chant went on for minutes, and Matthew turned to his followers with a sheepish grin, bowing awkwardly at times but letting the adulation wash over him like a warm shower.

Jeff didn’t join the chant and stared straight ahead. Matthew aw-shucks’ed for another minute or so until the chanting ended and was replaced by backslapping and applause. If there had ever been any doubt as to who was running the largest coalition of white nationalist groups in America, there was none now. IN THE CAR on the way back Matthew was beaming. “That was pretty special,” he said. “I mean… yeah, that whole Hail Heimbach thing… it was silly, but, yeah… it was pretty special.” “You earned it,” said Tony. He despised the NSM and was happy to watch Matthew take charge. “Those fucking guys need to fold. They can’t go on like this.” The night before he had told me how Matthew had ended up paying for all the food both days, even though it was, on paper at least, the NSM’s event.

COMMENTS ON MY YOUTUBE VIDEO:

* about half way done with the book, and it definitely has this fatalistic touch due to what happened to Heimbach, essentially right after this book’s release. It paints the picture of a man who, at a certain moment, went past the point of no return, and had no choice any longer, but to go full bore. The book is probably hardest on the KKK, it seems to me, showing them to be the most delusional, powerless, and out of touch of the 3 groups he chose to investigate. In any manner, the alt-right has also had its share of oddities with The Daily Shoah hosts being doxxed, Eli Mosley lying about his military record, Spencer basically saying he’s been defeated, and most recently the Heimbach fiasco. As well as the never ending Optics debate. The circling of the wagons by the core alt-right is under way.
