Female Conservative Rabbi Trashes Donald Trump On Yom Kippur
Ta-Nehisi Coates to Write Black Panther Comic for Marvel
* That actually explains a lot about him. Didn’t he grow up in a gang-infested area of Baltimore? That must have been a terribly stressful environment for a nerdy little kid who was into comic books and Dungeons and Dragons. He probably would have turned out different if he’d grown up around more white kids, where he would have found a natural home with all the other geeky kids.
* In the first issue of “Black Panther”, our hero, Michael Trayvon Coates, a mild mannered community activist and provider of school breakfasts to poor African American children, and having previously dabbled in the themes and writings of Rousseau, Thomas Paine, and Voltaire, is galvanized as he sees persons who are defined as black systematically robbed of their skittles, blunts, and bodies and joins forces with other SJW’s to form the Black Lives Matter Brigade (BLMB), and, using his own superhero skill of managing to conceal himself and disorient evil doers by generating impenetrable clouds of rhetorical fog, assumes the identity of BLACK PANTHER …..
* Whatever payment it takes to get the Black Bodies to accept repatriation to Africa (including of course renunciation of US citizenship, surrender of US passport, etc.) will be a bargain. As in, the greatest f*****g bargain of all time. I know it will never happen, but daydreaming about it really picks up my spirits when I’m blue.
* Coates is one Jewish co-author away from world domination. He should reach out to Jonathan Lethem or Michael Chabon to co-author a Black Panther graphic novel. Per Christopher Cladwell, Chabon is already a sycophant of Coates.
* I hope they show the Black Panthers fighting price-gouging Jewish slumlords. That’d make me buy the comic.
* The Atlantic always used to be a tony, hoity-toity upper middle-class magazine with intellectual aspirations. Are they proud that one of their regular contributors is a comic-book writer? More evidence, if more were needed, that our culture has become a heap of execrable garbage.
* I knew the Atlantic was on the way down when they did a gushy cover article on Britney Spears. My suspicion was confirmed when they did another ridiculous article about Kanye West, calling him “America’s Mozart.” I think the same author wrote both articles.
* It shouldn’t be forgotten that comic books are a form of pulp fiction. By and large the stories are formulaic and forgettable. I expect TNC’s contribution to be par for that course.
Senator Jeff Sessions Notes That God Told Nehemiah To Build A Wall
From Roll Call: “It’s always dangerous for church leaders to start opining on complex matters of which they haven’t had a chance to learn over the years. I mean, we’ve been wrestling with immigration for 30 years. That’s a lot of knowledge. So the pope is not invested in that,” Sessions said.
He continued, “It’s all right for him to call on us to establish an immigration law that serves the national interest and assists people, but how that’s done, I think he probably is not sufficiently informed, and I would say that despite some of the biblical things, Nehemiah went back to Jerusalem and the Lord commanded him to build a wall.
“So, [there are] many references in the Old Testament about the legitimacy of nations or countries or tribal areas, deciding who goes in and through and who does not. So that’s part of it.”
Later in the conversation, Sessions suggested the pope go to his native Argentina instead.
“I would suggest on immigration, maybe he would want to go to Argentina and ask them to take more people from the Middle East. They take almost none.”
And Sessions isn’t a big fan of the pope’s criticism of capitalism either.
“Has a socialist policy worked in Argentina or Brazil? Who do they call on when there is a refugee crisis? The West, who has a free market system that has created wealth. … Even our poor people are wealthier than middle-class people in most countries.”
Sessions noted he’s a Methodist and doesn’t always agree with what leaders in his church say either.
“Our bishops and church leaders say really foolish things periodically that I’m glad parishioners don’t know that they did. It would further hurt the church than it already has,” he said.
Sessions added that the church should focus on spiritual issues.
“Jesus focused on the bread of life, the spiritual realm,” he said. “You get that right, everything else kind of falls into place. I don’t think there’s anything in the scriptures that says nation states shouldn’t operate as nation states do. There was never any arguments that Rome’s basic secular infrastructure was fundamentally evil.”
Sessions suggested it would be better to help countries understand that “a free market system will eliminate more poverty than a government passing a law.”
But he said there’s a delicate balance, and there are times when church leadership has been very important in the public sphere.
“I’ve always been uneasy about church leaders getting too deeply involved in political issues because it can undermine their core mission, undermine their ability to be effective on spiritual matters. However, there is no doubt that on occasion there are times that a call for obedience and an objection to wrong policies is demanded of church leaders. Where you draw that line, I don’t know.”
Commentary Magazine: The GOP Is Killing Itself
I love how Donald Trump sorts out the good guys (those who care about preserving America as a nation with strong borders) from the bad guys (the open borders Republican establishment, Democrats, media, Jewish activists, Catholic activists, mainstream Protestant activists, etc).
Peter Wehner writes for Commentary magazine aka the bad guys:
Last night a close friend of mine — a legal immigrant, marvelously successful, and a long-time Republican — sent me a note in which he said this: “It’s hard to express just how depressed and depressing I find the current Republican discussions on immigration. I came to this country thinking it was one that welcomes immigrants — especially if you had something to offer by way of talents and willingness to work. Over time I came to believe the Republican Party was truly the party of ‘free markets and free people’. Now I really have trouble believing that.”
The message being sent to voters is this: The Republican Party is led by people who are profoundly uncomfortable with the changing (and inevitable) demographic nature of our nation. The GOP is longing to return to the past and is fearful of the future. It is a party that is characterized by resentments and grievances, by distress and dismay, by the belief that America is irredeemably corrupt and past the point of no return. “The American dream is dead,” in the emphatic words of Mr. Trump.
This is all quite troubling to those of us who are Republicans and find these attitudes repellant. Thankfully not all the Republican presidential candidates hold such views. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush, Governors Chris Christie and John Kasich, and Senator Marco Rubio are dissenters from this outlook. But the two men now leading in the polls – Mr. Trump and Dr. Carson – are appealing to the uglier impulses of our society. They seem intent on pitting American against American. And their words are searing themselves upon the imagination of the American people.
It was said of Lincoln, the first great Republican, that he was “the one man who had quite purged his heart and mind from hatred or even anger towards his fellow-countrymen”; that “in this man a natural wealth of tender compassion became richer and more tender while in the stress of deadly conflict he developed an astounding strength.”
In our time, we could use a lot more Lincoln and a lot less Trump and Carson.
Is this the real Lincoln? The Lincoln who wanted to send all blacks in America back to Africa?
On Eve of Yom Kippur, Ann Coulter Still Unrepentant for ‘F—ing Jews’ Tweet
Ann Coulter is going to be just fine. I love it that she hasn’t backed down.
Maybe other political commentators will grow some balls and give criticism to other protected groups?
From Algemeiner: On the eve of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, conservative political firebrand Ann Coulter expressed only a smidgen of regret for her now infamous Twitter tirade, in which she accused candidates at last week’s Republican presidential debate of pandering to Jews.
Among a string of angry messages lambasting the contenders’ focus on consensus issues, the pundit tweeted, “How many f—ing Jews do these people think there are in the United States?”
Offered the chance to reconsider her choice of words in an interview with The Algemeiner on Monday, her first with a Jewish publication since making the comments, Coulter yielded only that, “I would’ve used the ‘f—ing’ in a different part of the sentence.” And even that would only be in order to prevent her critics from “chopping up” her words and putting together a “bomb.”
Throughout the course of the interview, Coulter claimed she has been inundated with “fan mail from my Jewish fans.” She asserted that she is “a friend of Israel” and stands “against the enemies of the Jews.” She also said that while Jews “are usually so good with real estate,” Israel would do better if it relocated to the southern U.S. border. She called Donald Trump “the most Jewish” Republican candidate — although she has yet to hear any criticism from Trump’s Jewish daughter, Ivanka — and expressed interest in finding herself a Jewish doctor with whom to settle down.
But she was repeatedly dismissive of the maelstrom of antisemitism that her comments have ignited on social media networks, and rejected criticism from Jewish groups across the political spectrum that her comments played into antisemitic stereotypes about Jews having undue influence on American policy to the detriment of U.S. interests.
She pooh-poohed attacks from liberals, whom she called, “utter frauds and hypocrites” that “are constantly sucking up to antisemites,” but she also refused to take criticism from Jewish groups that might usually be aligned with her politically.
The hawkish Zionist Organization of America blasted Coulter’s “appalling, anti-Jewish remarks which evoked the classic, antisemitic trope about Jewish manipulation of America for the purposes of supporting Israel at America’s expense,” and the Orthodox National Council of Young Israel condemned her “ill-advised decision to spew hatred by denigrating the state of Israel and the Jewish community.” Commentary Magazine editor and conservative commentator John Podhoretz tweeted simply, “Shame on you.”
But Coulter dismissed the condemnations from “groups I agree with” as coming from people who “were deceived” and are “unfamiliar with my work,” as well as others who “may just be naive.”
Confronted by The Algemeiner with the prevailing wisdom that her tweet played into the most grotesque Jewish stereotypes, Coulter deflected, saying, “I’m throwing their Israel-pandering right in with their Reagan-pandering and their abortion-pandering.” She also noted, “In fact, right after sending that tweet, I tweeted out: ‘or maybe it’s the evangelicals.’”
Asked if she would repudiate the antisemitic hordes that have gathered in her defense under the #IStandWithAnn social-media banner, she claimed, “I haven’t seen any of those tweets. I hear about them but… I don’t even want to acknowledge their existence. It gives them too much credibility.”
“But for one thing,” she added, “If, or to the extent that, they are antisemites, well, they are going to become familiar with my work, and they’re going to see I’m not.”
Despite the strong implication to the contrary of her initial tweet, Coulter insisted that support for Israel in the U.S. is by no means a Jewish issue, but “truly an American cause” and that she supports U.S. aid to Israel because “they are our only friend there.”
Salon: Ann Coulter unleashes her nativist fury on Pope Francis and Catholics: “This is why our founders distrusted Catholics”
Salon.com: As Pope Francis paid a visit to the White House this morning, opening his remarks to 11,000 ticketed guests by noting that immigrants helped build the United States of America, the conservative flamethrower greeted His Holiness with a series of ugly nativists tweets, claiming Pope Francis’ teachings on economics are why the nation’s founding fathers excluded Catholics from citizenship, seemingly excusing anti-Catholic bigotry.
Coulter’s tweet was in response to one by fellow conservative commentator and Rush Limbaugh’s brother, David, chiding Pope Francis for speaking out against economic inequality:
I'm an American and this is why our founders (not "immigrants"!) distrusted Catholics & wouldn't make them citizens. https://t.co/7IV6J7ODAv

Why Donald Trump Troubles The Republican Establishment
Ann Coulter writes: A majority of elected Republicans, their advisers, conservative magazines and newspapers are nothing but junior partners to the left. They go on TV and repeat prepackaged conventional wisdom, hoping to get at least a small ovation. Trump is popular because we now live in a Kardashian nation and are one big cult of celebrity!
By mounting only impotent opposition, professional Republicans win the admiration of The New York Times, as they turn our country over to the left. All that matters is that they get to keep their offices, their salaries and their friends.
It’s important for them to think of themselves as better than other people—especially those yahoo proletarian conservatives.
Ironically, it’s the Ivy League billionaire living a glamorous New York City life who has rocked the political world by speaking for ordinary Americans and insulting the powerful. Meanwhile, depressingly average Washington insiders insult ordinary Americans and suck up to the powerful.
When someone like Trump comes along and is actually serious about winning the very causes the GOP purportedly seeks to advance, he is seen as a disruptive force.
Most alarmingly, Trump brought up immigration. The Democrats thought they had this one in the bag—they’d worked it all out with Republicans! Both sides had agreed: I won’t talk about it if you won’t.
The decision has already been made: We aren’t going to ask the American people what they think. We’re just going to do this because we think we’re right, and at a certain point it will be impossible to reverse, because Republicans will never be able to win another national election.
The transformation of our country has been a deliberate, methodical process, carefully hidden from the public.
Until Trump started talking about immigration, most Americans had no idea that immigrants take more government assistance than natives, that we are allowing nearly half a million anchor babies a year to force their way into citizenship and a lifetime of welfare, and that we’re bringing in rapists, murderers and terrorists.
Immigration is an easy argument to win. But if you talk about it, the media will cut your mike.
Once the Democrats get the voters they want through immigration, they will be like kids in a candy store. What will they do first? Ban private ownership of guns? Strip Christian churches of their tax exemptions for being “homophobic“? Release criminals from prison? Imprison the police? It will be the LBJ and Carter administrations rolled into one for all time, without end.
All the debates we have now on talk radio and cable news will be completely irrelevant. The most left-wing policies imaginable will be enacted, with no opposition—as they are today in California.
You might think California would wake up even the utter mediocrities in the Republican Party. But their predictable little lives have been disrupted. That’s why Trump has them in a panic.
The Lessons Lost in the Aftermath of Ann Coulter’s F-Bomb
It increasingly looks like Ann Coulter is going to ride out this controversy. She’s getting support from some Jews.
Susan Goldberg writes: For all of those folks outraged at Ann Coulter’s “f-ing Jews” Tweet during the last Republican debate, I have one simple question: Where were you in 2007 when Ann Coulter expressed the belief that Jews needed to be “perfected” into Christians? There are two cardinal sins goyim can commit: Using the phrase “f-ing Jews” and proclaiming a belief that Jews need to convert to Christianity. Ann has broken both. So, what’s the difference between 2007’s offense and today’s?
…But that was then and this is now, an era in which we receive and express outrage in 140 characters or less. Which is why the 2004 study illustrating a link between illegal immigration and anti-Israel views tweeted by Ann was sadly ignored. An essential point missed because, like, what does Israel have to do with Mexico? Most conservatives are too busy connecting Ann with Donald Trump and Donald Trump trends higher than Israel and Mexico combined.
Which leads one to ask, was Ann’s “f-ing Jews” a clever way to address the Republican/Israel/immigration trifecta by feeding off of the buzz created by Trump’s anti-Semitic supporters? Perhaps. The woman is in tune with the conservative world, after all, and let’s admit her timing couldn’t have been more precise. As a Jew I’ll agree that the phrase “f-ing Jews” is the equivalent of the N-word: You just don’t say it. To paraphrase Walter Sobchak, 5,000 years of persecution, you better believe you don’t drop the term “f-ing Jews.” But, I’ll also agree with my fellow Jewish conservative Ben Shapiro: Ann Coulter is still a better supporter of Israel than the pro-Obama Jewish hypocrites currently mocking her. And that is another point lost in the mire of the f-bomb.
I don’t agree with Ann’s support of Trump. But I can’t think of one single conservative with whom I agree on everything, because that’s what adults do: Critically think, not idol worship. Which is why Sarah Rumpf’s echo of the conservative declaration “Ann broke my heart” is especially absurd…
Jonah Goldberg’s essay at NRO “encouraged and emboldened” Twitter users with anti-Semitic views. Does Rumpf, an avid anti-Trumper, believe Goldberg should’ve just kept his mouth shut and played nice, too? What kind of Coulter fan is Rumpf, anyway? One that watched her Barbie in sexy heels on mute for the past 15 years?
I once observed that Ann’s “sarcastic jabs often got her into more trouble than her actual argumentation.” The problem isn’t Ann, it’s us. Instead of using jabs to make an argument, we’ve traded in arguments for jabs. Ann is not made for those who’ve pandered down the Twitter hole. Nor is she designed for those seeking to worship idols instead of cultivate their own opinions. Conservatives who aren’t afraid to think critically can still pull the meat from the fat of Ann’s arguments. Did Republican candidates pander to the same old tropes in that debate? Yes. Are they ignoring the realities of immigration policies, in particular the impact they have had and will have on American political attitudes towards Israel? Yes. So, what’s your f-ing problem, again?
Despite what my PJ colleague Rick Moran thinks, Ann is far from over. She not only took advantage of the Right’s seedy underbelly of anti-Semitism, she called attention to their faux anti-Israelism to boot, and all while addressing the issue of illegal immigration. And in the world of social media, we would have missed all of that if she hadn’t Tweeted about the “f-ing Jews.” That’s sad commentary, indeed. For the rest of us that is, not for Ann.
The Power Of The Christian Right!
If we can openly discuss the power and influence of the Christian Right in America (in public education, public space, politics), why can’t we openly discuss the power and influence of the Saudi Lobby and of Jews, Chinese, etc?
Chaim Amalek: “Because we tell you not to, that’s why. We can discuss this in shul tomorrow. There will be lots of time.”
Luke: If Ann Coulter survives and does not back down from her comments about Jews and Israel, does that mean there is a tidal wave of more caustic criticism of Jews is about to flow over America?
Chaim Amalek: “I’m afraid so, which is why she MUST BE RUINED.”
I think that all groups, including Jews, benefit from accurate criticism and appropriate stigma. All groups have strengths and weaknesses and unique gifts and it is not hate to accurately and publicly point that out. For instance, in general and by comparison with other groups, Jews are good at business, good at negotiating, good at academics, good at making money, good at developing group cohesion, good at exercising political and cultural influence, good at telling stories and making entertainment.
Islamist Jihadist from Britain Kvetches About His Syrian Co-workers
Steve Sailer writes: Liam Deacon in Breitbart’s has alerted us to this posting by a British Ali G-type, a supermarket security guard, who has gone off to Syria to engage in jihad (apparently he’s currently with ISIS, although, admittedly, I have a hard time keeping straight which Syrian terrorist organization is which). But he has a few things to get off his chest about his Syrian hosts that ought to be of interest to Europeans currently besieged by Syrians and pseudo-Syrians.
Although I realize that all the smart money thinks that Ms. Merkel has pulled off a huge economic coup by inviting in vast numbers of Syrians, after reading this you might want to think about shorting Audi and Mercedes-Benz stocks.
Culture Clash: Understanding The Syrian Race
By Abū Sa’eed Al-Britānī (From the video, “Message Of A Mujāhid”)Arabs as a whole have a unique culture, which differs dramatically from the western lifestyle. If one is unaware of these cultural differences, then it could be quite peculiar, annoying, and at times somewhat stressful to interact and associate with them. Arabs are quite unique in their habits, so it is vital for the western Muhājir to acquaint himself with their cultures to prevent clashes and disputes.
Below I shall list a few of their habits which Arabs are known for:
1) A lack of privacy for other’s space
This is a common habit for Arabs in the Middle East. I remember an incident from when I first came to Shām; I was sitting in ribāt next to another British brother, and as we were talking a Syrian brother came into the room and sat between me and the brother, he then reached for my backpack and opened it. The brother didn’t ask my permission but apparently that was not needed as it’s the habit of Arabs to go through other people’s property without their permission. As I sat there, he took out all my clothes and other gear from my backpack and examined each item before placing it on the floor.
As he was doing this, I was speaking to the other British brother asking him what was going on, and he told me that this was the norm here in Syria. Initially, I thought this was just a one off incident, but as time went on I realised this was a habit of our Arab brothers.
On another occasion an Indonesian brother was working on his laptop and was using it to speak to his family (or friends) back in Indonesia. After some time he went to go eat so he left his laptop open not expecting anything to happen, as no one really goes through other people’s property without permission, right? Wrong! As he was in the other room eating, an Arab brother went through his laptop and deleted all his conversations the brother was having with his family on his Messenger service. He also deleted his web server and was browsing the net without hesitation.
When the Indonesian brother returned and realised what happened, he got upset and thereafter put a password on his laptop.
Another common trait is that they see no issue in unplugging your mobile phone to charge their own phone. Even if it’s your own charger, they would casually take your phone off charge to charge their own phone, even if there is no real need for them to charge their phone at that current time.
During my time with Arabs, I have only noticed one Syrian brother who asked permission before going through my bag, and due to him asking permission I allowed him to go through my stuff, even though I didn’t like it.
Arabs in general do not know where the red line is in giving another brother his space, and this is in their culture, maybe because they see this as a form of strong brotherhood. Whatever the reason it’s annoying so patience is required. …
3) Stealing shoes
In the west, it is common knowledge to walk out of a room wearing the same pair of shoes that you wore while entering the room. Nay, it is common sense. However here in Shām, our Syrian brothers have a very peculiar philosophy whereby they believe that everyone can share each other’s footwear, irrespective of foot size. Someone who is a size 40 will casually walk out the room wearing your footwear even though you are a size 44, and strangely he may not even realise. Weird? Of course it is.
From my very first month here in Shām, I would experience this; I would enter a room with my shoes, and when leaving I would notice my footwear was missing. This is too common here in Shām. For some reason (known best to Syrians), what’s yours is theirs and what’s theirs is yours, even if you disagree with it. …
6) Administration work (“Bukrah inshāAllāh”)
As Westerners we are naturally good at administration work as our whole life is based on an organised structure. From school days to work life, we have a systematic structure in place on how to deal with issues. In every system we have the hierarchy structure. For example, in school we have the teacher above us, above whom is the deputy head, above whom is the head teacher. Everyone has a role to play in the system and everyone knows his job role in the organisation.
Unfortunately in the Arab world, building a structure and administrating it is not one of their strong points. There are many flaws and errors in putting an Arab in charge, especially if he is uneducated (which sadly is the majority).
It is common to hear an Arab in administration reply with the words “bukrah inshāAllāh” (which means “hopefully tomorrow”) or in plain English, “I’m too lazy, leave me alone and come back some other time!”Unfortunately, Arabs run the system here in Shām and they are, from what is apparent, the laziest and unfit for their jobs. All praise is due to Allāh that Dawlah has a system in place, however with Arabs running it, it has many deficiencies.
The typical Arab in administration tends to be very lazy. As explained above, the phrase “bukrah inshāAllāh” is always said as a cover when they cannot be bothered to do anything. …
Another ‘great’ feature of Arabs in administration is that there is no queue in any of their offices. You could be waiting in line for half an hour and then another Arab would come and push in the queue and go straight in. Even more ironic is that he would even barge in front of the guy who is speaking to the admin. It’s not unusual for Arabs to push in nor is it unusual for them to interrupt you while you’re speaking to the admin. And because the admin is also an Arab he also sees no issue in another person interrupting you. Strange indeed how he can be speaking to you one second, listening to your concern, and then totally ignore you and talk to another guy who just pushed in and deal with his case, even though this new guy may take about 10 or 20 minutes of his time; and when he finishes dealing with him, he will look at you, and without apologising expect you to remind him of everything you were saying.
So what is the solution to dealing with Arabs in administration? The solution is twofold. Number one; to pray to Allāh that He replaces the Arabs with others who know what they are doing. Number two; and a more practical solution, is to shout at them while asking for what you need. Although this may sound quite harsh, this is the only solution, and many westerners have learnt this the long and hard way….
The brothers from Chechnya are likewise very good at this. The Arabs are very scared of our brothers from Chechnya as they always raise their voices when speaking to Arabs in administration.
Not only do chicks dig Chechens, but lazy, disorganized, incompetent Arab bureaucrats are terrified of them. So, Europe can look forward to a future in which acting like a Chechen maniac is the best way to get ahead in life. In once what was the land of Kant, Ramzan Kadyrov looks like the future.
Arabs in administration is a recipe for disaster. …
8) The staring competition
This one is very amusing. Syrians love to stare at foreigners, maybe because no tourist has ever visited Syria. …
9) Treating animals badly …
10) Beggars
From the very moment I arrived in the Turkish airport, I was greeted by Syrian beggars. Professionals who make a living off of other people’s generosity and kind-heartedness. In the airport you may be confronted by a ‘poor’ Syrian man who is trying to get enough money to book a flight to another country. These beggars are professionals and it is advised not to give them anything, not even a second glance.
When people first come to Shām they are somewhat naive and inexperienced with beggars so they may give a lot of money to a professional beggar. Most beggars here in Syria are fraudsters who take advantage of the Muhājirīn. …
11) Dealing with shop keepers
Here in Syria Dawlah has a reputation of being wealthy. The average Syrian looks at a Dawlah brother as a walking bank, and unfortunately shop keepers are no exception. So many times when asking a shop keeper for the price of an item, he would contemplating for a while then give you a higher price. This is something which every single Dawlah brother has experienced. Wherever Dawlah goes, shop keepers benefit. No doubt there are those who are honest merchants, yet sadly they are few. The vast majority are money-lovers who think we are unaware of their petty actions. …
12) Driving ‘skills’
Coming from the west, we have certain rules and regulations which we abide by while on the road. These are for our own benefit to prevent accidents and henceforth, complications. In the Arab world however, there are not that many rules for the highway, and one can easily obtain a driving license without any test. Yes I know, very scary indeed!
… It is also a habit for motorists to drive on the opposite side of the road, even if the road is only wide enough for one car. For those of us coming from the west the road can be very stressful at times. …
The above mentioned traits should not deter a person from coming to Jihād, for not all Arabs are like this; we have many European battalions which one can join if he finds it problematic, in fact I would strongly advise my Western brothers to join a non-Arab battalion if the above mentioned traits are something one cannot live with.
These are pretty much the same observations as T.E. Lawrence made about Arabs in The Seven Pillars of Wisdom over 90 years ago, and he was infatuated with Syrians, literally.
