I knew a Russian lady back in the post-Soviet Yeltsin era who was one of the first of the big wave of Slavic blondes to wash up in the U.S. The INS was threatening to kick her out, so her latest strategy to stay in the U.S.A. was to gather genealogical documents from Russia that would prove, if you looked at them from just the right angle, that she was Jewish and thus qualified for refugee status under the Jackson-Vanik agreement and Lautenberg Amendment. I could never keep straight in my head her complicated genealogical theory of why she was, legally, Jewish — it was like one of those theories that the King of England would commission during the Hundred Years War about why he was also the rightful King of France.

Nor could I understand why being Jewish in Yeltsin’s mid-1990s Russia entitled you to refugee status in America. Practically every time I opened the newspaper in the mid-1990s there was an interview with a Jewish economist from Harvard or MIT about how the Yeltsin government was implementing all the advanced ideas they had told them about.

COMMENTS TO STEVE SAILER:

* Whenever a politician puts the interests of Americans over foreigners it is described as being “un-American”. Whenever a politician puts foreign interests over American interests it is described as being “American”.

* Maybe even less obscure than Jackson-Vanik, does Obama think it would have been un-American to prioritize Jewish refugees during the Holocaust?

* I actually believed the USSR had a right to restrict emigration of highly educated people. Since the USSR was the supposed workers’ paradise and those lucky few received a free education at the expense of their fellow workers, it made sense to not allow someone to leave and take their skills to another nation. It’s one reason I really don’t want Uncle Sam paying for our health care or education. It might make him think we are indebted to him too.

* Current narrative as heard on influential Diane Rehm show this morning: The Syrian refugees America is bring in are mostly women and minors, only 2% are “war age males” or some term like that.

Steve, your country needs you to remind them that the last attack conducted on our soil was carried out by two young men who arrived as minors under refugee status. Steve, please get the refugee/minor status of the Boston Bombers back out of the memory hole and into our short term media memory.

* Was Hussein Obama violently bullied as a child by White Christian boys in Indonesia and Hawaii? That would explain why he hates White Christians so much.

It was his dead beat Black Muslim father who abandoned him as a child, yet he will go all out to defend Islam and Blackness.

Can you imagine how even more hatred Hussein would have in his heart for White Christians if his dead beat father belonged to that demographic and it was his mother who was the Black Muslim Kenyan who had to raise him all by herself.

It is weird that someone can come out of a White woman’s vagina and still have an extreme hatred for White people even though it was his White family members who fed him, clothed him, and put a roof over his head when he was growing up. Hussein is such an ungrateful bastard. His Black family members never clothed him, fed him, and put a roof over his head.

* The whole point of refugee/asylum status is for people who are persecuted by religion, ethnicity, or political opinion. Christians are explicitly persecuted as a group in the middle east, so giving Middle Eastern Christians special refugee/asylum status makes sense and fits the basic purpose of refugee/asylum status.

As a counter example, Christians don’t face religious persecution in South America so it wouldn’t make sense to give South American Christians special refugee status on religious grounds.

* Netanyahu flew to Moscow to see Putin a few weeks ago to tell him not to go into Syria, but then came out of the meeting a lot quieter than he went in. Putin and Netanyahu seem like they could work out a modus vivendi.

* Rabbi Kahane (of the banned Kach party) used to drive secular, atheist Israelis nuts when he made the same point.

As Kahane brutally pointed out, it is easy to worship secular democracy, freedom of religion, gay pride parades, and anti-racism when you have a natural majority, but what do you do when the time comes that you are being outbred/replaced by a rapidly growing minority? Do you keep worshipping “Democracy” and be inevitably replaced? Is Western liberalism (in Israel AND Europe) a suicide cult? Or do you get “racist” and survive?

* You can discuss the merits that Soviet-Jewish immigration has brought America — that’s more of a matter of opinion. (I would argue that there’s been a *huge* net plus, despite the handful of annoying characters in the NYC media world. Sergey Brin is the extreme example you mention, but the tech boom is littered with Soviet Jews… that’s why it also happened the same time in Tel Aviv, as in the US. Just one example.)

But to say that Jews weren’t heavily discriminated against in the USSR is complete nonsense. And you know it’s disingenuous — that’s why the best you can mention as to why Jews don’t deserve refugee status in the US is because AMERICAN Jewish economists consulted Russia in the MID-90s, a different people in a different time!? What does that have to do with Soviet Jews in the 70s in 80s? PS – the vast majority left before 1991.

I’d prefer you flat out said that “I don’t like Jews, and I don’t want them in my country.” Or, “I don’t believe in America taking in ANY refugees, no matter what.” Just don’t retcon history.

* Please stop being a racist. Please stop expecting whites, and only whites, to lower their standard of living to help poor non-whites. Please stop bothering whites, and only whites, about this subject. Please stop being content with only whites giving up their incomes and living spaces to poor non-whites. Stop being so racist. Expect better of non-whites.

Whites have done far more for poor non-whites than non-whites have for other poor, non-white groups. Please stop being racist and ignoring the Chinese, the Indians, the Koreans, the Japanese, the southeast Asians, the central Asians, the south Asians, the west Asians, the north Africans, the sub-Saharan Africans, the Mexicans, the central Americans, and the South Americans, and the Israelis, all of whom do little or nothing to help.

It’s racist to expect whites, and only whites, to give over their territories and their incomes to help poor non-whites. It’s racist to single out whites, who have done so much, and to ignore the non-white groups who do nothing.

It’s also the behavior of a con artist grifter scumbag, the sort of person who scams little old grannies out of their social security checks.

Please stop being so racist and such a lowlife. Please stop insisting on white suicide as some monstrous form of charity.

* Steve doesn’t understand why being Jewish in 1990s Soviet Union made you qualify as a refugee.

Its because a stream of 1980′s movies such as Clint Eastwood’s Foxfire established a narrative that Jews living in the Soviet Union were secretly oppressed anti-communists. A whopper to be sure, but Americans and Soviets didn’t have much contact in those days.

Consider Thursday’s contretemps at Harvard Law School: protesting black students announce it’s a national crisis that black gaffer tape is found over the portraits of black professors. It’s a hate crime!

But then it’s immediately pointed out by online observers that it’s the same black gaffer tape that the protesting black students themselves put over HLS seals the same evening to hold up their signs denouncing institutional racism at HLS.

Steve Sailer: Jonathan Pollard, all-around terrible person

It’s testament to the power of insisting upon your version of The Narrative over and over that easily looked-up facts about the traitor Jonathan Pollard can simply be ignored.

For example, rather than being an ethno-patriotic altruist who gave Israel 3,600 cubic feet of secret American documents out of sheer idealism, Pollard is an all-around terrible person as countless incidents in his life attest. Always has been. From his Wikipedia article:

Pollard grew up with what he called a “racial obligation” to Israel,[15] and made his first trip to Israel in 1970, as part of a science program visiting the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot. While there, he was hospitalized after a fight with another student. One Weizmann scientist remembered Pollard as leaving behind “a reputation of being an unstable troublemaker, the worst case of this kind in the history of the summer camp”.[16]
… After completing high school, Pollard attended Stanford University, where he completed a degree in political science in 1976.[14] While there, he is remembered by several of his acquaintances as boasting that he was a dual citizen of the United States and Israel and claiming to work for the Mossad and to have attained the rank of colonel in the Israel Defense Forces. None of these claims were true.[17][18][19]
Pollard was turned down for the CIA job after taking a polygraph test in which he admitted to prolific illegal drug usage between 1974 and 1978. …The Navy asked for but was denied information from the CIA regarding Pollard, including the results of their pre-employment polygraph test showing Pollard’s excessive drug use.[23] …
Two months after Pollard was hired, the technical director of NOSIC, Richard Haver, requested that he be terminated.[23] This came after a conversation with the new hire in which Pollard offered to start a back-channel operation with the South African intelligence service and lied about his father’s involvement with the CIA.[23] Instead of terminating Pollard, Haver’s boss reassigned him to a Navy human intelligence (HUMINT) operation, … In the vetting process for this position, Pollard, it was later discovered, lied repeatedly: he denied illegal drug use, claimed his father had been a CIA operative, misrepresented his language abilities and his educational achievements, and claimed to have applied for a commission as officer in the Naval Reserve.[23] …
While transferring to his new job at TF-168, Pollard again initiated a meeting with someone far up the chain of command, this time with Admiral Sumner Shapiro, Commander, Naval Intelligence Command (CNIC) about an idea he had for TF-168 and South Africa. (The TF-168 group had passed on his ideas.) After the meeting, Shapiro immediately ordered that Pollard’s security clearances be revoked and that he be reassigned to a non-sensitive position. According to The Washington Post, Shapiro dismissed Pollard as a “kook”, saying later, “I wish the hell I’d fired him.”[24]
Because of the job transfer, Shapiro’s order to remove Pollard’s security clearances slipped through the cracks. However, Shapiro’s office followed up with a request to TF-168 that Pollard’s trustworthiness be investigated by the CIA. The CIA found Pollard to be a risk and recommended that he not be used in any intelligence collection operation. A subsequent polygraph test was inconclusive, although it did prompt Pollard to admit to making false statements to his superiors, prior drug use, and having unauthorized contacts with representatives of foreign governments.[25] The special agent administering the test felt that Pollard, who at times “began shouting and shaking and making gagging sounds as if he were going to vomit”, was feigning illness to invalidate the test, and recommended that he not be granted access to highly classified information.[25] Pollard was also required to be evaluated by a psychiatrist.[25]
Pollard’s clearance was reduced to Secret.[25] Pollard subsequently filed a grievance and threatened lawsuits to recover his SCI clearance, and subsequently began receiving excellent performance reviews.[26] In 1982, after the psychiatrist concluded Pollard had no mental illness, Pollard’s clearance was upgraded to SCI once again. In October 1984, after some reorganization of the Navy’s intelligence departments, Pollard applied for and was accepted into a position as an analyst for the Naval Intelligence Command.[citation needed]
Shortly after Pollard began working at NIC/TF-168, he met Aviem Sella, a combat veteran of the Israeli Air Force, at the time on leave from his position as a colonel to gain a master’s degree in computer science as a graduate student at New York University. Pollard told Sella that he worked for U.S. naval intelligence, detailed to him specific incidents where U.S. intelligence was withholding information from Israel, and offered himself as a spy. Though Sella had wondered whether Pollard was part of an FBI sting operation to recruit an Israeli, he ended up believing him. … Within a few days, in June 1984, Pollard started passing classified information to Sella and received, in exchange, $10,000 cash and a very expensive diamond and sapphire ring, which Pollard later used to propose marriage to his girlfriend Anne. He also agreed to receive $1,500 per month for further espionage.[28]
Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) investigator Ronald Olive has alleged that Pollard passed classified information to South Africa,[29] and attempted, through a third party, to sell classified information to Pakistan on multiple occasions.[30] Pollard also stole classified documents related to China on behalf of his wife, who used the information to advance her personal business-interests and kept them around the house, where investigating authorities discovered them when Pollard’s espionage activity came to light.[31][32][33]
During Pollard’s trial, the US government’s memorandum in aid of sentencing challenged “defendant’s claim that he was motivated by altruism rather than greed”, asserting that Pollard had “disclosed classified information in anticipation of financial gain” in other instances:
The government’s investigation has revealed that defendant provided to certain of his acquaintances U.S. classified documents which defendant obtained through U.S. Navy sources. The classified documents which defendant disclosed to two such acquaintances, both of whom are professional investment advisers, contained classified economic and political analyses which defendant believed would help his acquaintances render investment advice to their clients… Defendant acknowledged that, although he was not paid for his unauthorized disclosures of classified information to the above-mentioned acquaintances, he hoped to be rewarded ultimately through business opportunities that these individuals could arrange for defendant when he eventually left his position with the U.S. Navy. In fact, defendant was involved in an ongoing business venture with two of these acquaintances at the time he provided the classified information to them…[34]
During the course of the Pollard trial, Australian authorities reported the disclosure of classified American documents by Pollard to one of their own agents, a Royal Australian Navy officer who had been engaged in a personnel-exchange naval-liaison program between the U.S. and Australia.[35] The Australian officer, alarmed by Pollard’s repeated disclosure to him of data caveated No Foreign Access Allowed, reported the indiscretions to his chain of command, which in turn recalled him from his position in the U.S., fearing that the disclosures might be part of a “CIA ruse”.

Seymour Hersh reported in The New Yorker in 1999:

Had Pollard’s case gone to trial, one of the government’s major witnesses would have been a journalist named Kurt Lohbeck, who had a checkered past. He had served seven months in prison after being convicted of passing a bad check in New Mexico in 1977, but by 1985 he was under contract to the CBS Evening News. Lohbeck, who now lives in Albuquerque — (he received a full pardon from the governor of New Mexico two years ago), acknowledged in a telephone interview that he was prepared to testify, if necessary, about his involvement in Pollard’s unsuccessful efforts in 1985 to broker arms sales for the rebels in the Afghan war. At one meeting with a foreign diplomat, Lohbeck said, Pollard posed as a high-level C.I.A. operative. Lohbeck, who was then CBS’s main battlefield correspondent in the Afghan war, told me that Pollard had provided him, and thus CBS, with a large number of classified American documents concerning the war. He also told me that Pollard had never discussed Israel with him or indicated any special feelings for the state. “I never heard anything political from Jay,” Lohbeck added, “other than that he tried to portray himself as a Reaganite. Not a word about Israel. Jay’s sole interest was in making a lot of money.”

Lohbeck went on to say that he had also been prepared to testify, if asked, about Pollard’s drug use. “Jay used cocaine heavily, and had no compunction about doing it in public. He’d just lay it in lines on the table.” In 1985, Lohbeck made similar statements, government officials said, to the F.B.I.

Pollard, told by me of Lohbeck’s assertions, sent a response from a jail cell in North Carolina: “My relationship with Lohbeck is extremely complicated. I was never indicted for anything I did with him. Remember that.” ‘

Pollard reminds me vaguely of lobbyist-felon Jack Abramoff, except Pollard was out of control on cocaine instead of steroids.

In a sane world, Israel and many of its American supporters would cite Pollard’s all-around awfulness as evidence that he’s an anomaly, he’s totally unrepresentative. They would downplay the arguments that he did it for Israel and play up the evidence that he was a cokehound with delusions of being an international man of mystery.

Instead, the opposite happens.

The Flight from White: Administration to Entitle Arabs to Affirmative Action Benefits

Steve Sailer writes: It’s obviously nuts for Republicans, as the de facto White Party, to agree to shrink the number of de jure whites, but Republicans never seem to get this. When you make people eligible for minority business development funds and the like for declaring themselves nonwhite, you automatically make them more sympathetic to the Democrats, who are obviously more committed to defending affirmative action for nonwhites.

The Reagan Administration went along with shifting South Asians from the Caucasian to Oriental category back in the early 1980s. It seemed like a good idea at the time because Indian immigrant entrepreneurs were demanding it and they seem like Natural Republicans. But Indians appear to now be vociferously Democratic despite their high incomes for various rationalizations.

It would be really stupid for Republicans to allow Syrians, Lebanese, and even Armenians to become a Protected Minority and thus Natural Democrats. But Republicans don’t like thinking about the details of identity politics, so they get taken to the cleaners repeatedly.

Pre-K Is Worthless

Gregory Cochran writes: There was a nice study of pre-K in Tennessee. People applied for pre-K , more than could be accommodated, so some were admitted (randomly) and some were not. Then the kids admitted were compared with the control group, those not admitted. This nicely controls for any systematic differences among volunteers, which often exist. By third grade the pre-K kids were doing worse, although I think not hugely worse. So pre-K is pointless (big surprise, considering that shared parental environment doesn’t affect smarts)- not that this or anything else is going to change James Heckman’s mind.

But then, I don’t think that most proponents of this kind of intervention have ever cared a whole lot about efficacy, because if they had, they would have run statistically powerful studies of the effects of pilot programs. I mean, it’s not as if statistical methods are a secret. If they were serious they would stop spending money on approaches that have been seen to fail and try to spend it on something that worked, or might work – but I don’t see that happening.

Hillel students join Amherst protest against alleged bias on campus

The coalition of the fringe unites against the core.

Contrary to myth, Jews and blacks have rarely had much to do with each other, you can’t find two peoples more different, but on occasion, radicals in both groups join in some cause.

(JTA) — Students from the Amherst College chapter of Hillel joined students from over 50 campus groups in a coalition demanding changes to create a more “inclusive environment” on campus.

“Amherst Uprising” is one of a spate of collectives on campuses across the country seeking to address what members see as campus environments hostile to minorities.

The manifesto posted last week demands an apology from the elite college in Amherst, Massachusetts, and from its president, Carolyn “Biddy” Martin, for an “institutional legacy” of a number of bigotries, among them anti-Semitism.

The statement also seeks the disciplining and “extensive training for racial and cultural competency” of students behind posters on campus declaring “All Lives Matters” and “in memoriam of the true victim of the Missouri Protests: Free Speech.”

* “One could speculate of some self interested motives for that anti-genetic IQ mind-set, such as supply and demand.”

An obvious example of this would be Jewish elites, who are a very high IQ elite that tends to promote policies that lower IQ among their host populations and thus potential competitors for elite positions. It seems unlikely that this is deliberate or conscious, but it’s obvious how such tendencies could evolve.

* Countries like the US vacuum up the smart fraction of other countries (brain drain) like China, India and even west european countries, strengthening their own human capital at the expense of others.

This brain drain can confound the correlation between average IQ and development because it is driven by a smart fraction that doesn’t impact the average IQ of either country as it’s numerically too small.

* The host population of the US was mainly gentile northern European. This population provided the WASP elite that dominated elite positions and institutions in the US until about half a century ago, and was the primary competition against Jews for elite positions and excluded Jews from them. They no longer dominate them nor pose any serious competition for them as a group.

Zuckerberg wants to increase H-1b visas and the supply of labor in order to have cheaper and more compliant employees.

* As per Lynn, northern hunter-gatherers (the Arctic peoples) have a mean IQ of 91. Southern hunter-gatherers like Bushmen and Australian Aborigines have mean IQs in the 60s.

There is a north-south intelligence gradient among agriculturalists as well. Finns have a higher mean IQ than Spaniards, who have a higher mean IQ than Egyptians, who have a higehr mean IQ than Bantus. The Chinese have a higher mean IQ than SE Asians who have a higher mean IQ than Papuan agriculturalists.

Classic-era Greeks and Republican-era Romans were of a northern European physical type. There are many literary references to light hair and light eyes among them. The stereotypical early Roman was held to be red-haired. The Greek gods were typically described as blond. They were depicted that way too – there are microscopic remains of paint on some of the old statues. The hair was painted light.

Ancient Greeks and Romans also had a typically northern-European, egalitarian political set-ups. Elections, popular assemblies, term limits. Their military successes were made possible by discipline and altruism. The Romans fought Germanics to a standstill along the Rhine. It’s impossible to imagine later Italians competing with Germans as equals in the military sphere.

Light hair, high IQ and egalitarianism must have been brought to Greece and Italy by conquest from the north in pre-historic times. The warm climate allowed the notherners to increase their population density. Eventually cities were born, and with them the first Western high-IQ civilization.

High IQ, writing and civilization (though not light hair or egalitarianism) were brought to southern China from northern China in historical times.

Modern Greeks and Italians are to a large extent descended from Middle Eastern slaves whom ancient Greeks and Romans imported as cheap labor. As Greece and Italy became more Middle Eastern, egalitarianism was gradually replaced by despotism in them. As the levels of discipline and altruism decreased, native troops had to be replaced by Germanic mercenaries.

When high IQ occurs among southern peoples, it is among merchants and aristocrats, not among farmers. High latitudes only select for high IQ among hunter-gatherers and farmers.

* India has a very broad distribution of intelligences thanks to its caste system. The Brahmins are in some sense India’s Jews.

* The Arctic peoples have a mean IQ that’s higher than those of many Middle Eastern or SE Asian peoples, yet their native material culture is much simpler. Why? Because their harsh environment couldn’t support a complicated civilization with the hunter-gatherer (or agricultural) lifestyle.

The Finns of the 18th century hadn’t contributed much to civilization either. Yet we can be quite sure that 18th century Finnish farmers were more intelligent than 18th century Persian farmers because modern Finns are more intelligent than modern Persians, the nutritional gains would have been similar at the lower class level and natural selection doesn’t work that fast. It’s just that sparsely populated farmland isn’t conducive to civilization.

* The Finns of the 18th century quite possibly contributed to civilization in spades.

It’s just that they did it in the New World, having gotten free of Swedish rule in both Finland, Sweden, and the mid-Atlantic.

* White gentiles stand with Jews against Muslim ‘anti-semites’ and others—whites will also always side with Jews against blatantly anti-Jewish blacks, but Jews stand with violent black thugs against whites.

What is the point of sucking up to Jews when Jews act like this?

Jews are high intelligence, low integrity. Of course, not all Jews are like this, but plenty are. Too many Jews are like Jordan Belfort in WOLF OF WALL STREET.

Also, even good Jews are not to be trusted in most cases. Why? Even though they are conscious of bad Jewish behavior and sincerely wish it to stop, they are afraid that airing dirty laundry will give voice to ‘anti-semites’.

They feel caught between bad Jews(who keep giving ammo to ‘anti-semites’) and ‘anti-semites’ who simply hate, hate, and hate Jews.

Nations with intelligence and integrity are the best. Generally speaking, integrity is easier to come by in a homogeneous society of high intelligence since the issues are less about tribalism than about right and wrong (corruption, clean government, and etc.)

But then, excessive integrity-ism can lead to something like Sweden. Swedish obsession with becoming a ‘moral superpower’ made it completely blind to its self-demise as a race, nation, and tradition. Integrity goes beyond tribalism, but integrity that ignores the power of race and tribe(especially of other peoples who are still driven by identity politics) is bound to lose, and Sweden is finished.

In Sweden, homogeneity and integrity made for a peaceful and prosperous society. This made people complacent and unworried about their well-being and survival. Taking their own security for granted, they came to idealize the world as something to save. Success led to naive idiocy.

In the end, one must choose nativity over naivete.

When it comes to race and abilities, I think we also need a bit of Racial Relativism.

The problem of the world is too many peoples judge themselves in relation to others. It should be obvious that some races are stronger, smarter, cleverer, creative-er, individualistic-er, and etc., but it’s all relative, and people should think and live within their own general limitations.

For example, the notion that white men are slow or can’t jump is purely relativistic. White men are not slow and they can jump among their own kind. It is only a ‘problem’ relative to blacks who can jump higher and move faster.

Mexicans are not short among their own kind. They are ‘short’ relative to white gringos who are generally taller.

Blacks are not dumb among their own kind. They are ‘dumb’ relative to whites, Asians, and especially Jews.

So, all racial assets and abilities are relative, and we keep bumping into problems cuz we judge various races by norms of other races.

We need to establish the norms of each race, and make members of that race feel comfortable within those norms. And there is bound to less problem if we keep the races apart.

For instance, in a white world, white men can run fast and jump high… by their own standards. White men begin to feel inferior relative to blacks. So, the solution is a Closed System that keeps blacks out of white nations.

As for black nations, they should focus on their intellectual limits and work within those norms instead of constantly looking at richer non-black nations and bitching, “sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiit, why they richer than us? Must be ‘racism’, shoo.” Okay, the bongo wongo Africans don’t speak American ebonics, but then maybe they do nowadays since rap music is big in Africa too.

Keep races apart and let them become accustomed to their own norms.

Correlation Between Average IQ & GNP

There is likewise a wealth of evidence – from Lynn, Rindermann, La Griffe du Lion, your humble servant, etc. – that shows an exponential relationship between levels of average national IQ and GDP per capita (PPP adjusted). When you throw out countries with a legacy of Communism and the ruinous central planning they practiced (China, the Ex-USSR and Eastern Europe, etc), and countries benefitting disproportionately from a resource windfall (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, etc), there is an amazing R2=0.84 correlation between performance in the PISA international standardized student tests and GDP (PPP) per capita. (In sociology, anything about R2=0.3 is a good result).

The reasons for this might be the case are quite intuitive. At the most basic level, intelligent people can get things done better and more quickly. In sufficiently dull societies, certain things can’t get done at all. To loosely borrow an example from Gregory Clark’s A Farewell to Alms, assume a relatively simple widget that requires ten manufacturing steps that have to be done just right to make it commercially viable. Say an 85 IQ laborer has a failure rate of 5% for any one step, while a 100 IQ laborer has a failure rate of 1%. This does not sound like that big or cardinal of a difference. But repeated ten times, some 40% of the duller worker’s production ends up being a dud, compared to only 10% of the brighter worker’s. Consequently, one is competitive on the global markets, whereas the other is not (if labor costs are equal; hence, of course, they are not)…

Average IQ = 70 – Per capita GDP of ~$4,000 in the more optimally governed countries of this class, such as Ghana (note however that many countries in this class are not yet fully done with their Malthusian transitions, which will depress their per capita output somewhat – see below).
Average IQ = 85 – Per capita GDP of ~$16,000 in the more optimally governed countries of this class, such as Brazil.
Average IQ = 100 Per capita GDP of ~45,000 in the more optimally governed countries of this class, or approximately the level of core EU/US/Japan.
Average IQ = 107 – Per capita GDP of potentially $80,000, as in Singapore (and it doesn’t seem to have even finished growing rapidly yet). Similar figures for elite/financial EU cities (e.g. Frankfurt, Milan) and US cities (e.g. San Francisco, Seattle, Boston).
Average IQ = 115 – Largely a theoretical construct, but that might be the sort of average IQ you’d get in, say, Inner London – the center of the global investment banking industry. The GDP per capita there is a cool $152,000.
Countries with bigger than normal “smart fractions” (the US, India, Israel) tend to have a bigger GDP per capita than what could be assumed from just from their average national IQ. This stands to reason because a group of people equally split between 85 IQers and 115 IQers will have higher cognitive potential than a room composed of an equivalent number of 100 IQers. Countries with high average IQs but smaller than normal S.D.’s, such as Finland, have a slightly smaller GDP per capita that what you might expect just from average national IQs.

Chism refused to go back into the courtroom Tuesday saying he was ‘about to explode’ – causing court to end an hour earlier than scheduled
On Wednesday Chism told the judge he wanted to be present in the courtroom during the proceedings
Jurors watched surveillance video of Chism following Ritzer into a bathroom while putting his gloves on
Video also shows Chism walking down the hallway with what appears to be blood on his hand – another clip has him carrying her pants
Chism’s trial began Monday in Salem, Massachusetts
Defense attorney Denise Regan admitted Chism killed his teacher ‘but only because he was plagued by a severe and untreated mental illness’
However the prosecution said Chism killed with ‘terrible purpose’, arriving with a knife and box cutter and killing, raping and robbing Ritzer
