If I’m Stroking My Beard, I’m Probably Lying

I find myself — when I am saying things I do not mean — stroking my beard excessively.

This habit has grown to the point where I almost can’t lie unless I pull on my beard.

How on earth did I lie before I had a beard? On what was I pulling? I think I just played with my face, ran my fingers through my hair, scrunched my lips, rubbed my eyes, nothing too suspicious I hope.
