70 artists from the Sudan to South America Collaborate In Music

From JewishJournal.com: "Israeli music sensation Idan Raichel, creator of The Idan Raichel Project shares his thoughts with Danielle Berrin of JewishJournal.com before his Nov. 2007 performance at UCLA’s Royce Hall."

Danielle Berrin says: "During a recent tour stop at UCLA’s Royce Hall, I spent an evening backstage with Idan Raichel, creator of The Idan Raichel Project, a multicultural music fusion of ethnic artists from around the world. "The Project," as they call themselves, includes 70 artists from the Sudan to South America (though only a select few travel on tour), and they collaborate musically in Israel. Before The Project performed to a wildly enthusiastic L.A. audience, Idan shared his thoughts on Israel, put national politics in their place, and revealed the things that inspire his music."

Luke says: I love how Idan Raichel is asked by Danielle, "What does being Jewish mean to you?" And he says, "Being a good person in the Ten Commandments way…"

Yeah, that’s a good one. That’s really distinctively Jewish. Like non-Jews don’t believe in being a good person in the Ten Commandments way? I’m sure he’s really strict with his observance of the Ten Commandments, keeping the Sabbath and honoring his parents and putting God first…

Still, it is a new year and I have resolved to be less cynical.

I admit I only resolved this while watching Danielle’s video.

She makes me want to be a better man.

It is time to come clean with you, my reader.

I am a sex addict and I will be getting help.

No, I don’t wank the day away, and no I don’t chase women all night. Rather, I keep sticking sex into the most inappropriate places such as this blog post. I can’t believe I am writing about such a tawdry subject in the middle of this uplifting video about peace and love and the Ten Commandments.

I am truly sick. I recognize this sickness. I know that I am helpless without the Higher Power. I am going to join a group of bloggers addicted to writing about sex. I will make amends to Danielle and Amy and the others I’ve wronged. I will write three Torah posts from here on for every smutty post…

But first I’ve got to cover the premiere of "Pink Eye For The Straight Guy."

According to imdb.com: "Pink Eye is set in a small town in upstate New York, at a prison-like, dilapidated insane asylum where secret drug testing has gone inexplicably wrong. Patients are dying in sick and twisted ways and those who survive are becoming raging, homicidal lunatics. It’s only a matter of time before all hell breaks loose and the patients begin to crave freedom to take their vengeance out on the world outside. When one patient does escape deformed, angry and far beyond insane, he brings death and terror to an unsuspecting town and everyone in it."
