University Of Judaism Buys Brandeis-Bardin Institute

Expect an announcement this week. BBI was the largest landholder among Jewish organizations outside of Israel, but the place has been consistently mismanaged for more than 20 years, and it has been selling off bits of land to try to stay afloat. Now their financial situation is dire and they are coming under the protection of the financially flush U.J. BBI has the reputation of having the worst board of directors in the Jewish world. Traditionally in Jewish life, board members are big donors, but that was not the case at BBI.
