Shlomo Rechnitz – The Most Interesting Jew In Los Angeles?

Shlomo Rechnitz reminds me of King Solomon and other larger-than-life Jewish philanthropists down through history.

From Haaretz in January, 2016:

When Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz got up to give the keynote speech at a Monday night fundraising dinner in Lakewood, N.J. for the largest yeshiva in America, everyone in attendance expected he would praise the rabbis and those who make great efforts to learn Torah. They figured he might spice up his talk with a few words of Torah and return happy and satisfied to his seat on the dais, as befits an ultra-Orthodox – or Haredi – who supports a great many yeshivot in Israel and America.
Instead, the Haredi businessman from Los Angeles, who owns the largest nursing home provider in California, used his moment at the podium to give a scathing speech of rebuke that wiped the smiles off the faces of the rabbis sitting alongside him on the dais, and set off a storm in the Haredi world in both the United States and Israel.
Rechnitz was quoted by all the Haredi media in Israel for rubbing salt into the open wounds of the ultra-Orthodox community.
In his 50-minute speech, Rechnitz accused the Lithuanian, non-Hasidic Haredi community in Lakewood – a Jewish suburb in New Jersey with a large Jewish community built around the prestigious yeshiva and other institutions – of acting in a way that borders on “bloodshed.” Its educational institutions, said Rechnitz, begin selecting children at a young age, and the rabbis and the community turn their backs on those who are not “good enough” or “not really worthy.”
Rechnitz said that unfortunately, there was a sickness – mahala in Hebrew – in Lakewood. “No other out-of-town community would ever allow a child to be left without a school. In Los Angeles, if a child wouldn’t have a school the first day, the whole community would be all over it. The same thing would happen in Baltimore, Chicago and Toronto or anywhere else.” His words made their mark not just in America, but in Israel too, where there are similar problems in many communities. Every year, students, girls in particular, are left at home for weeks and months after being rejected by Haredi schools.
Rechnitz’s businesses also sell medical supplies all over the United States, and he is best known as a major philanthropist. He has given money to units of the IDF and U.S military, too. He has contributed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s campaign in the past. Rechnitz was in the news recently after he bought 18,000 Powerball lottery tickets for his employees for the $1.5-billion draw two weeks ago. He said in the opening to his speech at the event in honor of Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kanarek, the dean of six schools in the Lakewood community, that he has the right to speak about such things because he has gotten many children into schools in Lakewood – and because many people turn to him for help when their children are left without a place in school. He spoke of the rivers of tears, “of fathers who don’t know where to turn, who were made to feel that they failed their innocent children. Of mothers who cry themselves to sleep every night.”
He spoke of the children who at a young age try to put on a calm face but hide in their room and cry. “This child’s parents have already cried their hearts out to their rabbanim, to the school administration. ‘Please, please take our child. It’s six weeks, and he’s still not in school,’” said Rechnitz.
He wondered how a community that performs so many good deeds, such as helping the ill, can abandon its children: “Many of us have created for ourselves a new Torah, a new Yiddishkeit [Jewishness], that makes us feel good about ourselves, but has little to do with the Torah that He gave us 3,300 years ago. We turned our Frumkeit [religiousness] into an idol, and we have forgotten some of the basic tenets of Yiddishkeit,” said Rechnitz.
He listed five false beliefs that have permeated the community. “I believe that ‘I am better than you.’ I believe that I have to show all my [strict observances], so everyone can see how [religious] I am. I believe that ‘your children are not good enough for my children.’ I believe that the Torah was given to perfect children and perfect families. I believe there is no room for individuality; we must all fit into the same perfect model.”
He said the community has developed “an elitist attitude, an ugly superiority complex.”
“Why are we all judging each other? Why do I and others feel like we are being judged by a Sanhedrin of 50,000 people in Lakewood? I feel terrible for most people who live here in that respect. Nobody here gives or gets any slack. Forget a second chance, that’s out of the question. You have better odds of winning the lottery,” he said.
In the last generation, many large donors who have given money to Israel, Zionist institutions and other organizations have stopped just writing checks and have demanded to know how their money is being used. Is this trend now reaching the Haredi community and its donors? A person involved in philanthropy in America said, “In the past, a philanthropist would see it as a great honor if they allowed him to donate to Lakewood, but today he expects at the very least for them to listen to him.” The great rabbis, the ones with stature and prominence have disappeared, and this has created the new type of relationship between the donors and those who take the money, he said.
Near the end of his speech, Rechnitz said he would put his money where his mouth is and promised to build more inclusive schools.

From the Forward, Jan. 15, 2016:

Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz was hailed as “one of the world’s greatest young philanthropists and businessmen” by broadcaster Larry King after the California nursing home owner won an award in 2012.
Rechnitz briefly seemed destined to win even bigger kudos this week when it was reported that a nurse at one of his facilities had scored the epic windfall from one of the 18,000 Powerball tickets Rechnitz bought and handed out to his employees.
It turned out to be a hoax: The nurse’s son was only joking that she had won a slice of the $1.6 billion jackpot.
The whole affair has now cast a fresh national spotlight on the 44-year-old Rechnitz, who owns Brius Healthcare Services, California’s largest chain of nursing homes.

The attention has mostly reflected Rechnitz’s long history of quirky good deeds along with his penchant for self-promotion.

“Rechnitz is always there with a helping hand,” wrote Josh Nass, an admirer who studied Rechnitz’s philanthropy. “The breadth of his philanthropy and the diversity of those he helps are astounding.”

There was the time last November he spotted 400 U.S. solders in an airport in Shannon, Ireland eating from paper sacks and bought them each $50 dinners instead. Or the time he paid off the mortgage for a Chabad house in Los Angeles.

But some of the attention has not been not so glowing.

The Powerball kerfuffle have reporters looking once more into a series of ongoing local, state, and federal probes dating back several years into the 80 facilities run Rechnitz.

Several of his employees have been criminally charged and there was a new FBI raid of his Riverside, Calif. operation last fall, The Sacramento Bee reports.

Rechnitz has said he is being singled out unfairly.

“All of a sudden, we show up to court one day and there is an emergency motion that refers to us as a quote-unquote serial violator of laws. It questions if we would pass the good character requirement … It basically makes us look like the Charles Manson of the nursing home business,” he told The Bee.

Rechnitz’s legal woes stand in stark contrast to what is an undeniable record of good deeds and philanthropy, not the least of which was his Powerball generosity.

Rechnitz was born in Los Angeles, California and went to Israel for college.

The musically-inclined exec released an album in 2014 entitled Shir, featuring famous Jewish artists singing his composed tracks. All of the proceeds go to the Keren Hashviis fund supporting Israeli farmers.

Rechnitz has a history of large contributions to Jewish organizations and causes. The Jewish Journal reports that he donated $5 million to Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, $2.35 million to bail out Chabad of California, and $1 million to help rebuild Orthodox Jewish schools after Hurricane Sandy.

In 2013, Rechnitz stepped in to rescue Doheny Glatt Kosher Meats after a controversy involving the former owner’s alleged flouting of religious oversight rules. Under Rencnitz’s ownership, kosher certification resumed, preserving a kosher entity in California on the eve of Passover.

Aside from Jewish-related organizations, Rechnitz also is charitable to law enforcement causes. He writes $10,000 checks for families of Southern California police officers who were shot in the line of duty.

Did Shlomo Rechnitz Buy FailedMessiah.com?

Here’s a comment today to Steve Sailer:

Steve-Did you see that the Orthodox bought out the Failed Messiah blog (http://failedmessiah.typepad.com)?

It was a great source of info for Orthodox/Haredi shenanigans in NY/NJ. It apparently has been bought out by the Orthodox to silence criticism.

Went there today looking for the scoop on Orthodox efforts to take over a neighborhood in Toms River NJ, the way they have completely taken over Lakewood NJ and many places in the lower Hudson Valley (linked on Drudge).

A check of FailedMessiah.com reveals there have not been any important posts since Scott Rosenberg left in January.

The Forward reports February 7, 2016:

There’s a media mystery developing around the anonymous new owners of the muckraking blog FailedMessiah, and growing signs the site’s harsh criticism of the Orthodox community may be permanently silenced.
Shmarya Rosenberg, who ran FailedMessiah singlehandedly for more than a decade, announced February 2 that he was moving on. Days later, questions about the blog’s new owners are multiplying, and one Orthodox website has suggested that an Orthodox businessman bought FailedMessiah to “pull the plug” on Rosenberg’s hard-hitting reports on the community.
In a post on February 3, the new owners said they were “a group of people dedicated to protecting the reputation of the Orthodox Jewish community,” but did not identify themselves by name…

An unsigned post on the Orthodox website OnlySimchas.com reported “rumors” that California nursing home magnate Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz was among the buyers of Rosenberg’s site. Rechnitz, 44, is an enigmatic ultra-Orthodox businessman, a major donor to Orthodox charities and yeshivas, and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yisroel Belsky, a leading ultra-Orthodox rabbi who died this January.

Rechnitz recently made headlines when he bought Powerball tickets for all his employees in his California nursing homes. One nurse briefly thought she won a slice of the $1 billion prize, but it turned out to be a hoax.

Rechnitz has shown a tendency to be gently critical of the Orthodox community. In early January, while accepting an honor at a gala dinner for a Lakewood, New Jersey yeshiva that he had funded, he attacked of Lakewood’s Orthodox schools for excluding some students. Days later, he issued an apology, saying that he had not meant to insult any rabbis or yeshiva heads.

Meanwhile, Rechnitz’s nursing homes are facing heavy scrutiny from state and federal regulators in California, according to a lengthy June report in the Sacramento Bee. According to the paper, three of Rechnitz’s 81 California nursing homes have been kicked out of the federal Medicare program in recent years, a highly unusual and drastic step. In the Sacramento Bee story, Rechnitz says that his regulatory problems are the result of bad relationships with state officials.

In its February 4 post, OnlySimchas suggested that Rechnitz had bought FailedMessiah to throttle its reporting. “The rumors claim that allegedly Rechnitz was simply fed up with the amount of hatred towards his fellow Jews, and simply could not bear to watch it continue,” OnlySimchas wrote. “If Rechnitz had any hand in the deal to have [FailedMessiah] pull the plug, his share in [heaven] will have just grown to an unimaginable level.”

Are Israel’s Interests Identical To America’s Interests?

It is just not possible for two people, let alone two countries, to have identical interests. That’s why all relationships have varying degrees of tension. We don’t see the world identically.

America has no vital strategic interests in the Middle East aside from assurance of an oil supply if needed.

If America shifts away from Israel, the Jewish state could form an alliance with Russia. Many Israelis have come from Russia in the past three decades.

Shmuel Rosner writes for the New York Times:

Israel depends on an America that asserts itself abroad. Israel needs bipartisan support. It needs stable, predictable American foreign policy. It desires candidates who sing Israel’s praises as often and as loudly as they can. Mr. Trump, who looks poised to capture the Republican Party’s nomination, offers Israel none of those. Mr. Netanyahu has every reason to be concerned and disappointed by what the American political system has produced this election cycle…

Israel’s government hoped a new president would restore a more traditional definition of friendship — one based on mutual trust and support. But if the choice comes down to Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Trump, that’s unlikely. From a President Clinton, Israel’s hawkish government would come under more of the same pressure it received from the Obama administration. From a President Trump … anything is possible.

The rocky relations of the Obama era have damaged the American-Israeli alliance and eroded Israel’s standing in Washington and around the world. Four — or eight — more years of bickering could cause even more lasting damage to the one foreign relationship that is truly critical to Israel’s future.

Freedom Of Association

Most people prefer to be around their own kind. When people have a choice, they avoid diversity. They live, work, worship and socialize with their own race.

The right to freedom of association is being taken away from us. As that one freedom goes, so must the rest. Or to say it a different way, a barometer of diminishing freedoms in a multi-cultural society is the ever-diminishing freedom of association.

NYDN: De Blasio is pushing two zoning plans needed to achieve his goal of building 80,000 new affordable apartments and preserving another 120,000 existing ones.

One, known as mandatory inclusionary zoning, would require developers to include affordable housing in projects that need city approval, with options starting at setting aside 25% of apartments for people making an average of $46,000 for a family of four.

That has prompted protests from critics who say apartments are needed for people who make less than that. The levels may be adjusted in negotiations with the City Council before a vote by the end of March.

The Tenth Anniversary Of The Duke Lacrosse Rape Hoax

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* Went to a southern university around the same time. Was a fraternity member.

We all KNEW it was a hoax from the minute the story came out. The reason why isn’t very PC, but it’s the truth — sexual market value and peer posturing.

A bunch of handsome white athletes at a prestige school for smart kids all get together… and they demonstrate sexual interest in a poor black stripper in front of each other? Um. No. A nude Beyonce clone wouldn’t get aggressive attention in that room. And what were the odds that a stripper in Durham, North Carolina would look like Beyonce?

We all KNEW that they wouldn’t have requested a black stripper. That it had to be a mixup.

I remember when the photos of that evening came out and all the guys looked bored, sad, annoyed about what the stripper looked like. “Surely this will end now,” I thought. So obvious. And yet it got dragged out for another 8 months.

* I remember watching the sordid saga unfold — it was then that I realized that narratives create news stories and not vice versa.

After witnessing the UVA rape hoax and the Michael Brown fiasco, I’m not optimistic that this lesson will ever remain in our society’s institutional memory.

* And the dozens of Duke faculty members that signed on to the witch-hunt paid the price by losing their positions, right?

No? They paid no price at all?

Oh, I forgot. These are Leftists, and constraints like honesty, justice and integrity are too passe for them to observe.

And the ruling class wonders why a person with Trump’s defects is so attractive.

* One of the interesting angles to all of this is that hoaxes are easier to pull in the mass media age than in the prior age. The old line from Twain was that the truth was just getting out of bed by the time a lie was half way around the world. Today, the lie is an axiom by the time the truth stirs.

Just look at the Michelle Fields hoax from last week. She rolled out a whole media campaign on twitter and then the cable news shows. David French at National Review on-line, a lawyer supposedly, wrote a long piece on Friday falling for the whole thing.

Are people more gullible now? How has the media saturation turned us into rubes?

* If three black members of Duke’s basketball team had been accused of gang-raping a white stripper under otherwise identical circumstances, they wouldn’t have even been arrested -so preposterous were the allegations. And feminists would not have protested. Feminists wouldn’t protest even if a white student at Duke was gang-raped by black students who were guilty beyond any doubt -just as feminists never expose the horrific realities of the 50-year pandemic of black males raping and gang-raping white females.

* Leftists don’t usually notice anti-male and anti-white bias. When it’s undeniable then they simply rationalize it.

To unequivocally condemn anti-white and anti-male bias is to strike the leftist house of cards at its very foundation, and cannot be permitted if the structure is to remain standing.

* It’s almost like there is an thread in the undercurrent that binds these isteve topics into a cohesive political philosophy. Oh yea…”hate whitey” …it’s the logical opposition to that world view. And people are still confused by Trump’s popularity.

* Despite the hostility and frequently bizarre, anachronistic, ahistorical or even outright nonsensical paranoia to which many blacks are prone, one cannot help but respect them for their keen sense of racial awareness (or semblance thereof).

If only five percent of whites chose to advocate for white interests as vehemently as the average black advocates for black interests, our race problems could find a durable resolution within a generation.

* Their sense of racial awareness consists mostly of resentment towards whites and and delusions of being victimised by them. Remember they murder each other far more than they kill members of other races. In a sense, it’s their lack of racial awareness that brought them to America. People with strong racial solidarity and empathy don’t sell each other as slaves.

* Yea, the whole case is at a visceral level pretty messed up. Duke’s nickname was already “University of New Jersey in North Carolina” so there was already a bunker mentality in the student body that was greatly aided by the wet campus policy and 3 year on campus living requirement. We literally at times felt like we were some beachhead of carpetbaggers and California invaders in this dark jungle. At least in the Mid 2000s, this was before a lot of Durham’s redevelopment/gentrification. This literally made the Lacrosse players “us” in the awful game of us vs “them.” I’m just surprised at how so many liberal college students could hate the media so much at that time.

On a side note, funny enough. the celebrations when Nifong was disbarred, spent a night in jail, and sued to the point where he even had to give up his family guitar passed down generations definitely showed some class solidarity. For a few nights over my years at Duke, I swear 90% of the student body would vote Republican if it meant watching Nifong squirm. I’d say the campus would usually only vote 30% Republican. [30% of total males in Greek life with near monolithic Right wing support, and 50% total females in Greek life with about half Republican leanings].

* I knew it was a fake immediately because Mangum said she was raped orally by one of the men. I don’t know much but i know that’s not how men do their raping.

* Perhaps being a white man at Duke during that incident sharpens the appreciation of what’s in store for white men in the vibrant diverse future that, so-far, only Mr. Trump has shown any inclination in delaying.

* Even Feminists believe race trumps gender. Feminists do not hate White men because they are men, they hate White men because they are White. Hence why Feminists feel zero hatred towards Muslim rapists and African American rapists for example.

No Feminists in the media like Hillary Clinton and Gloria Steinem came out and called the Rotherham incident involving Pakistani pimps and underage White girls a war on women.

* It would appear Lee Kwan Yew is proven right yet again. Donald Trump is almost without question the most pro-Black candidate in living memory, offering with border closing and protective tariffs to vastly increase and secure Black people’s AA and social spending and status within America. And yet, most hate him with a passion because he generates White working class support and threatens the consensus that every White person must submit to any Black person.

Really, it is ridiculous how pro-Black Donald Trump really is with his policies.

* Anyone who has gone to a top ranked NCAA school knew that the Duke case was a fraud the minute they heard it. My large private school has had a top five men’s lacrosse program for decades, not to mention a basketball team that makes it to the NCAAs nearly every year with a few final four finishes and decent football. The athletes, especially of the prestige programs, like Duke’s lacrosse team, have women throwing themselves at them – they don’t need to slum it with a black stripper. The girls in my dorm made their way through the football team, checking off various players from the program they’d slept with.

* How much does the average black person advocate for black interests on a day to day basis? I suspect the default level of black and Hispanic group interests is more or less the normal level for humans everywhere. There has been a decades-long campaign to tell blacks and Hispanics that race-based politics are good and right, and to tell whites that race-based politics are wrong and evil, and we can see the impact of that on everyday politics.

Personally, I’d rather we all adopted the rule that race-based politics are a bad thing–I think it tends to leave everyone voting for the crook “because at least he’s our crook.” (See the operation of the DC government for an example of why I think this.) But it’s pretty obviously unreasonable to have the rule that race-based politics are okay for everyone except whites.

* The nature of living in a bubble is that you have no idea how nutty or vile your ideas sound to someone outside your bubble.

What Really Happened In Chicago Friday Night?

Reddit post: At 2:30 p.m., I arrived at the Donald Trump rally located at the UIC pavilion in Chicago, IL. There was light police presence at the Blue Line station, and the pavilion was short walk away. There I waited in line for about an hour until making it to the front doors, going through a security scanner, and finding a seat in the main hall.
For nearly two hours the pavilion filled until it neared capacity. It was clear that protesters were seated around the room, given easily away by their manner of dress. Most of the Trump supporters, being suburbanite or small town white people from outside of Chicago, were dressed strikingly normal—jeans and t-shirts, yoga pants or dresses, and the occasional suit.
The first protesters began around 5:30 when two young white males pulled off their coats to reveal t-shirts with anti-Trump slogans. At this point I noticed the police presence inside the rally was a mere 8 police officers, bolstered with hands-off event staff.
Before 6:00 p.m., a man spoke on the microphone and requested that rally attendees do not touch or harm protesters who interrupt the event. He reminded the protesters that Donald Trump supports the first amendment as much as the second.
Following this was a string of smaller incidents, such as people holding up improvised signs and shouting.
One entire bleacher row was filled with protesters and they began chanting and throwing around torn up signs.
A few people who began standing up and screaming, and were slowly escorted out by police. The police kept leaving the protesters unattended throughout this, taking 4-8 officers to escort protesters out one at a time.
A black man in a black jacket ran up to the front stage, bumped into the podium, and attempted to speak, but was wrestled down by two men in suits. As they escorted him through the crowd, he took a swing at a Trump supporter. The men escorting him were incredibly gentle and restrained themselves from using any force.
Then voice came on and declared that the event was postponed. A few minutes later, they informed us that Trump had landed in Chicago and spoken to Chicago Police officers, and that due to safety concerns, the rally was canceled.
At this point, the protesters began to descend into chaos. Aside from a few mild “TRUMP” and “USA” chants, the Trump supporters were mostly quiet and bewildered as the protesters began to scream, chant, and run around the main floor area in a huge pack, flipping off the rally attendees and swearing at them. There were a few tense altercations between the two groups, but from what I saw at this point, no violence.
The rally was instructed to leave the pavilion, and I have to admit, the Chicago Police messed up bad here.
We walked straight out of the building and into enormous packs of protesters screaming at us, with little police presence to protect the Trump supporters.
Following this, I wandered the protest grounds to see what was going on. My memory is a bit jumbled at this point because I was so pumped up, but let me string together the events as clearly as possible:
Many of Trump propaganda signs, most commonly depicting him as Adolf Hitler, but others showing him with a small penis, simple signs of text English and Spanish, signs.
Young women shouting anti-white racial epithets.
“THE PEOPLE ARE UNITED. WE WILL NOT BE DIVIDED” being shouted at Trump supporters who holed themselves up in a parking garage, quietly fearing for their safety. Another good one by the protesters was “FREEDOM FIRST! FREEDOM FIRST!” Strangely enough, there were a good amount of signs calling for peace and freedom. Lots of peace signs being flashed with the fingers.
A single white Trump supporter who held up a sign and stood quietly as three dozen people surrounded him, smiling and screaming, snatching and pushing at him until he had to run for police cover. Someone grabbed his American flag and threw it on the ground and he fought to recover it. The police escorted him away.
Two young men, perhaps 17-19, standing quietly as they waited for a ride home. They were wearing their MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN hats, looking terrified as people cursed and swore at them, and occasionally threw furious challenges for debate. The two young men held their ground. Only once did one of those hats come down, and it quickly went back on again.
A general atmosphere of pleasure and happiness from the protesters. A common chant was “WE WON!” and “WE STOPPED* TRUMP!” It honestly felt like a social event for the protesters. There was plenty of mingling
Plenty of shouts at Trump protesters that Trump and his supporters are not welcome in Chicago. I challenged one on the first amendment. He said he does not consider himself an American and continued insulting the grizzled old white man he was arguing with.
Extremely inefficient police presence. The cops were lined up on their horses or standing behind barricades, but generally were not present where Trump supporters were being hounded and occasionally struck by protesters.
The protesters were primarily composed of millennial-aged: white hipsters, African Americans, Hispanics, and Muslims. Some of the protesters were teenagers below voting age.
The protesters flew a big set of American, Mexican, and Puerto Rican flags. There were lots of small American and Mexican flags too. *The Trump supporters mostly fled for safety immediately. You have to understand, they were outnumbered by thousands of protesters.
There was media presence, but not as much as you’d think. Plenty of areas where chaos was going on had no media nearby. The reporters were mostly getting people to talk to them off to the side where nothing was going on, or focusing ongoing debates between Trump supporters and rally members.
A small amount of the protesters were smoking weed. (I have nothing against this personally, just included for accuracy.)
Plenty of chants for “BERNIE! BERNIE! BERNIE!” Some Trump supporters looked at each other in bewilderment. “But Bernie Sanders isn’t even running against Donald Trump,” was the common sentiment.
Edit: The Trump supporters had a general trust for the police, while the protesters saw their presence as antagonistic. This is especially interesting to me, because as a foreigner and person of color I am generally afraid of police.
Closing statement:
Obviously I did not see everything that occurred as I wandered the protest grounds outside the cancelled Chicago rally. What I did see, however, was fear. Fear from the rally attendees for their immediate safety, and fear of Donald Trump from the protesters.
More than that, I feel that I experienced today, for the first time in my life, true totalitarianism and authoritarianism, expressed laterally from citizen to citizen, in order to silence opinions from being shared. This enforcement was shared through sheer numbers and intimidation, and in a few cases, violence.
People brought their children, loved ones, and friends to attend the Trump rally. I saw an older Asian man and his white wife in attendance, and the looks on their faces when the rally was declared cancelled almost broke my heart. I saw scared children clinging to their parents’ sides as they exited the building to the screams of protesters. I saw a quiet, but excited crowd of Donald Trump supporters get thrown out of Chicago.
Worst of all, I saw the first amendment trampled, spit on, and discarded like trash.
This cannot go on. As I finish this, I feel a sense of utter dread and hopelessness for what is becoming of the youth in this country, particularly those of the regressive left. So polarized has political opinion become, that dissenting thoughts on college campuses are now seen as hateful. These people deal in absolutes. They are right, and whatever means they must take to achieve their ends, they will do it. They will not stop themselves from violence or censorship. They will do it, and they will call hell down upon you if anyone dare does upon them the same.
Tonight I went to the Trump Rally to hear the thoughts of not only the man who was supposed to come and speak, but the people who support him. I found respect. I found calmness. I found peace.
The truth is, I am a legal immigrant, not a US citizen. I am not American. I am not white. I cannot vote.
After tonight, I support Donald Trump.

COMMENTS TO STEVE SAILER:

* What’s interesting here is that the Left are quite happy to fight and intimidate their opposition, while the Right isn’t. What’s obviously concerning is that many of the right were cowered by their tactics. The establishment is letting this happen. I’m afraid that we might live to see the truth of Jefferson’s aphorism that the manure of liberty is blood. The goons won’t stop with kind words alone.

* These are socially marginalized college “students” (that’s a fancy way of saying young people who can’t get dates) play-acting Europe 1848, Russia 1917, the Paris Commune, etc. I’m not sure they’re really calling for workers’ of the world to unite since I’m sure most actual “workers” wouldn’t want to be in the same room with these people (they’re weird, they stink). It’s street theater. It’s not that different for them than going to see some band nobody’s ever heard of or a poetry reading (do they still have those?) Most of their “classmates” go to the football game; they get a buzz out of disrupting almost anything normal.

This is why the MSM’s treatment of these people is exasperating to me. They make it sound like the best and brightest young people, our “college students,” got wind of Generalisimo Benito Hitler staging a violent coup on their campus, and as much as it pained them, they just had to drop the calculus book to express their disapproval in a “protest.”

* I still find it amazing that the press can’t distinguish between Trump’s thugs meeting to enjoy each other’s company in peace, and BLM’s and La Raza’s thugs coming to a Trump meeting. The media wants to portray as innocent victims those arriving with the expressed purpose of shutting Trump up and dispersing his supporters.

Shakespeare provides us with a framework to consider the problem: “Here lies the water. Good. Here stands the man. Good. If the man go to this water and drown himself, …he goes. Mark you that. But if the water come to him and drown him, he drowns not himself.”

* Listen Bernie Sanders actually saying that Trump must control all of his supporters, but that he, Bernie Sanders, cannot be asked to take responsibility for his own supporters. Unbelievable.

Donald Trump’s Diverse Coalition

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* Trump’s appeal is truly populist: ordinary working class people love him: be they white, black or “miscellaneous”.
That’s the reason elites are scared of him : a dissident elite forging a new high/ low- middle alliance could very well usher in a new regime.
Make no mistake: Trump if nominated would easily win the White House, hands down.
Hence the not so secret meeting of the GOP cuckservatives with Tim Cook, Musk, etc. How do we stop this guy?
For the moment, they’re using BLMs and SJWs as attack dogs, that is, Blacks and antifas, along with the MSM whores trying hard to demonize him all over the media.
Let’s see how Trump reacts now. Playing dirty must come naturally to a man with his background. He’s got them all figured out. It won’t be pretty.

Black Gang Riots In Melbourne

From News.com.au:

SOUTH central Melbourne became more like South Central Los Angeles on Saturday as rioters swept through the CBD terrifying locals and tourists alike.

Havoc descended on Federation Square with metal chairs from the city’s famous Brunetti’s cafe used as weapons on nearby Swanston St, as gang members fought with both the police and among themselves.

But these weren’t members of Melbourne’s notorious crime families, as depicted in Underbelly, or even bikie gangs asserting their dominance. But rather young people, some no more than 12 years of age, from hitherto little known gangs living out their dreams of a “Fast and the Furious” lifestyle.

Police say the primary gang had been under surveillance for months, accused of breaking into homes, stealing cars and even the tragic death of a mum-of two late last year.

While a Salvation Army officer with knowledge of the gangs told news.com.au the culprits “don’t care” about the concerns their actions cause, and that a fear of being a labelled racist meant little effort was being done to tackle the gangs whose members predominantly hail from eastern Africa but also the Middle East and the South Pacific.

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* It was a conflict between the Apex and the Islander 23, a gang made up of Sudaese and Pacific Islanders, respectively. I think the Herald Sun was the only newspaper who mentioned the nationalities.

* I saw Amanda Vanstone – Australia’s former Immigration Minister – boast on TV that she was the one behind the Sudanese resettlement. Surprised that she is a childless white lady?

* There are very few Africans in Melbourne (or the rest of Australia), but they certainly punch above their weight (if you’ll pardon the expression) when it comes to violent crime.

The last census in Australia (2011) didn’t have any separate numbers for Africans (by birthplace or ancestry) because the numbers were too small – only a fraction of one per cent. The numbers have certainly increased in the last five years but I would guess they are still well under one per cent.

The riot in Melbourne was a pitched battle between gangs of Sudanese and Pacific Islanders (mainly Maoris and Samoans), and we have larger numbers of the latter group, but only 15,000 Maoris were identified in the census (out of 4m Melburnians).

As it happens, the people worst affected by the riot (and by street crime by Africans and Islanders in general) are typically East Asians and South Asians (students studying here, or recent immigrants). They are considered (correctly, as a rule) by criminals to be soft targets.

A few years back there was a series of nasty robberies and a few killings targeting South Asians in Melbourne, and Indian media reported them as being committed by racist “Australians”. It turned out that the majority of those crimes were committed by Islanders and Africans (race realists, for sure, but not Australian to any but the terminally PC). The race of criminals was (and is) usually omitted in any reports by MSM or police; social media help fill the gap (much as in Europe).

* The “Out of Africa” movement seems to be in full swing. Why any nation feels the need to bend to these demands to open its gates is beyond me. I think it’s becoming quite scientifically known that we – i.e., humans – are not all the ‘same’ under the skin – close maybe, but not the same. Sex seems to be the determining factor to the ‘we’re all the same crowd’ – if you can fu*k it, it’s same as you.

* From what I could gather this was a clash between Africans (Sudanese) and Pacific Islanders. In Darwin it’s Aborigines and Africans fighting. Such populations overwhelmingly lack human capital and with traditionally male blue collar jobs disappearing their prospects don’t look very good. Most of the Africans are humanitarian refugees and the Islanders come with the oceanian geography, often via New Zealand. Australia is in the process of deporting foreign born criminals after a recently passed law so perhaps a few people will be made examples of.

A lot of the Sudanese, as you would expect of humanitarian refugees, come from conflict zones and I’m sure many of them are genuinely traumatised, but dumping them in a completely alien culture and expecting them to thrive is a little optimistic. Interestingly the left wing Victorian Premier (equivalent to a state governor in America) has said he’s not buying into the ‘poor me’ excuses that community leaders, social workers etc. always seem to come up with.

* i live in rural new south wales. the number of africans that have popped up in australia in less than the last 10 years really begs belief.before around 2006 and 2007 (right before the labour party got into power again) you literally saw no africans at all. a tiny number of high skill tranplants from places like ghana maybe but that’s it. after that there has been a really rapid incraese in sudanese, somali and tazaninan migrants, presumably all refugees. they stick out like a sore thumb here for sure.

* What’s funny is that you would think these nations would do some fact checking in South Africa, the southern US or Rhodesia how that co-existence with blacks worked out in the past. But it’s as if they don’t want to know. Maybe they know the score deep down, but think they can actually be successful, and don’t want to rain on the parade.

* I’m from that part of the world too, and have had to work with people from the sudanese community in Melbourne. What struck me was their often brazen contempt for the law- for example, if a white person were to try and commit a crime, they usually have the decency to at least try and be inconspicuous about it. Not so with the sudanese, they’ll do it completely out in the open and punch whichever cop comes to arrest them. As long as the crime isn’t too serious (like stealing alcohol) they know they are going to either get away with it or get a slap on the wrist from a magistrate, as opposed to getting their arm lopped off with a machete.
People here aren’t stupid though, when you hear people badmouth suburbs like Sunshine for being violent, it’s a roundabout way of referring to the sudanese.
Another thing that should be mentioned are the rivalries between “youths” from the Aboriginal and Sudanese communities, who seem to be jockeying with each other to be head of the Australian underclass.

* Is there one country in the world – including their own – where the Somalis have proved useful?

* There’s a more important interest for maintaining strict silence about the ethnic identities of the offenders. If the conventions of political correctness are not observed, things go to hell very easily in a multicultural society.

One of the best illustrations of this was in Sydney in 2004. Gangs of Lebanese Muslims were known to attack lifeguards. After one attack in 2004, at least one popular radio DJ broadcast frank views about attacks by Lebanese Muslims gangs. In reaction, crowds of white Australians gathered in the beach in a demonstration of support for the life guards and for standing their ground. By the time the crowd swelled to thousands, it turned out of control. Police no longer were able to keep order and white mobs even attacked random brown skinned people. That was the Cronulla riot, unleashed by lack of political correctness among those people who have the power to broadcast opinions.

Here in this melee although no white women were harmed, the principle stands that if strict political correctness is not maintained it may incite the white majority to do violence against minorities.

* The articles call them “Sudanese gangs”. However the “Sudanese” that Australia has been taking are actually the poor oppressed “Darfurians” of what used to be the southern part of Sudan.

Darfur, remember, is the poor oppressed southern province of Sudan that the West recently spun off to form its own country. The peaceful oppressed Darfurians are now slaughtering each other wholesale in a big civil war.

These foreign “refugees” always look so meek and pathetic in photos of refugee camps and crowded boats. When they are unleashed on a defenceless Western country they revert to type.

* Defenders of the ‘white Australia policy’ – which, surprisingly lasted right up to year 1973, casually and colloquillaly used to say that ‘Australia has enough blacks of its own, we don’t need any more blacks’ when questioned on the subject.

Which begs the question of the indigenous Aborigene population being a pretty criminally inclined, dysfunctional and sociopathic one, eventually and inevitably clashing with blacks imported direct from Africa.
A dilemma which only the most rabid race-obsessed 19th century anthropology author could ever have contemplated.
Who will prevail? – the so-called ‘rascals’ of Port Moresby – yes, yes, yes, I know its in PNG and not Oz, seem to me to be more of a match to anything Lagos, south side Chicago or Detroit can throw at them.
Even their HIV positive rates are superlative.

* Whoa. We can’t have this in Australia. You guys are my escape plan – or, at least, my escape plan for my children.

The way that I look at it, we’re living through a version of the movie “On the Beach,” except that it’s not a wave of nuclear radiation that destroys the West, but a wave of African and Muslim immigration.

Melbourne was their last refuge from the deadly radiation. Well, Australia is my kids’ Melbourne. (So, yes, Melbourne, in a sense, is both figuratively and literally, my kids’ Melbourne. Kind of like America’s “Vietnam,” i.e. a military quagmire, is the actual Vietnam.)

Of course, in the movie, the inhabitants had no way to stop the nuclear cloud from reaching Australia. But you do. You can both save the future white world and make your current world much more pleasant by keeping out Africans and Muslims.

* The coming Demographic disaster caused by the current population boom in Sub Saharan Africa is going to be the defining event shaping World History in the second half of the 21st century.

Africa has problems feeding and keeping peace of its citizens now. So, how bad will it be when the population quadruples?

What will happen is civil wars, warlords, Islamification, and mass migrations. The Africans will probably migrate to the nearest places, north Africa, the middle East, and South America. The entire middle east will migrate into Europe. The entire South America will migrate into North America.

A population boom in Korea in 100AD destroyed the Roman Empire. The resulting subsequent constant population migrations collapsed the border and collapsed Roman society from within when the wrong immigrants were let inside the border. The resulting chaos was called the Dark Ages, and most of Europe was burned to the ground. This has happened before and could happen again.

Time is past due to cast aside the neocon rivalry with Russia. We’ll need their help to deal with the future. We’ll also need an armed Western Europe with capable politicians. (We’ll probably also need to cooperate with the Arab/Persian world). Otherwise, everything could fall.

* Ever notice how it is only white western nations that take in African “refugees”? Ever catch that? Note how Japan didn’t let them in. Or South Korea. Or Taiwan. Or a hundred other places that would have been a least a bit safer and more stable then Sudan, Somalia etc. Only the white western nations of the world, even though Australia for instance is thousands of miles away from Africa.

* Australia is a continent, but its mostly desert so you hit a hard limit on how many people can live there without completely trashing the ecology earlier than elsewhere.

This means that there is a stronger argument for closing the country’s borders with Australia than with just about any other place in the world. The place has to be reserved for the descendants of the English speaking immigrants who went or were shipped there in the twentieth century, plus whatever is left of the Aboriginal population. A larger population would wreck it, and given that its surrounded by water and in an isolated corner of the globe, keeping additional people out is less difficult than elsewhere.

However, for the same reason, Australia can’t be an “escape plan” for anyone in the rest of the world, including white people. Sorry. In an overpopulated world, there really is no place to escape to.

* You’re saying that Freedom of Speech can’t exist in a multiracial society.

Let’s get this straight. Multi-racial societies lead to:

1. Loneliness and much less social interaction (see Bowling Alone)
2. Violence
3. Repressive governments and a lack of civil liberties

I can see why they’re so popular.

Future historians are going to look back on this age in wonder. I doubt that they’ll ever really understand why the West committed suicide. I mean, if I wasn’t living through it, I wouldn’t believe it.

* Is it relatively more acceptable in Aussie public life to be a fat woman? When I first saw British newscasts or morning shows growing up I was struck by the fact of normal plain-looking, often overweight women getting hired to work in front of the camera, even as show hostesses, and not just on the public channels either, but in recent years they seem to be going in the Fox News/Access Hollywood direction (to be fair, not so different from the standards of every local news team in every state) which is an outgrowth of the obnoxious L.A. media demimonde.

* Most liberals don’t want to know, because it’s crimethink. A leftist operates under a number of quasi-religious axioms, something like those I’ve identified below:
-All peoples are equal.
-Diversity is the highest good.
-If there is a group difference, it is due to white racism, or the white male power structure.
-White people are obligated to pay money in the form of tax until everyone is equal.
-If you can find one intelligent, altruistic or non-criminally-inclined member of a race or ethnicity, it is proof that group differences in races/ethnicities are due to something other than genetics.
-Anyone who questions or researches the above is a thoroughly bad person.
-White racists should be punished.

Because this axiom structure is laid down through many, many Hollywood movies, kids’ TV programming and books, the education system (textbooks, curricula and the views of teachers), proclamations by government officials etc. there is no real unified set of laws to it all except that white men are bad and anything that will lead to the production of more of them, especially a unified group of them, is bad.

A lot of non-US countries including Australia like to consider that the problems that they perceive the US has stems from something intrinsic to the US itself, a kind of tragic dirt. These other countries consider that they have solved problems that have eluded the USA, and they kid themselves about the reasons behind it. Fundamentally the problem is ethnic mix, but this is put down to various other things.

Warren Buffett’s famous maxim might be riffed on here: “When a management with a reputation for brilliance tackles a business with a reputation for bad economics, it is the reputation of the business that remains intact.”

So I would say this:

“When a government with a reputation for competence imports an ethnic group with a reputation for high crime and low economic performance, it is the reputation of the ethnic group that remains intact.”

* That’s the case here in Europe, for sure. The liberal government and media elites generally look on Americans with disdain, especially Southern whites. It almost seems as if their support for immigration stems from their eagerness to show how much better they can handle the problems that will arise when different races are put together.

The Histrionic Left Wants Trump To Win

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* It’s clear that leftists like this kid want Trump to be president. They’re not really trying to prevent him from being president – they’re protesting and opposing him as if he were already president. Even when leftism is dominant, like it is now, it’s not comfortable with actually being in charge. It’s only really comfortable in opposing oppressive authority figures and being in a permanent revolutionary mode. Trump is sort of a pop culture caricature of such an oppressive authority figure, and he’s even sort of indulging them and playing the part in a campy way, which excites these people even more. They want Trump, they need Trump as president since it confirms their worldview and gives meaning to their lives as revolutionaries fighting unjust, oppressive authorities. It’s just not the same with Obama or leftists in charge, which ultimately only leads to cognitive dissonance and disillusionment.

Orthodox Jews Set Sights on N.J. Town and Angry Residents Resist

Look! Not all Jews are pushy and dishonest in business. It is only a tiny number that give the rest of us a bad name. Oy vey!

In most of these conflicts described in the story below, Jews tend to win, though there are occasional setbacks such as the Holocaust.

I know a lot of Jewish real estate agents and none of the ones I know behave this horrible way (though they are far more aggressive than the WASPs I grew up among), and yet none of the bad behavior described surprises me and none of the reaction against it surprises me. Different groups have different interests and they’re competing for scarce resources such as land.

The more traditional the Jew, the less likely he is to deeply concerned with the law of the land, except to the extent he needs to be to stay safe. Orthodox Jews have their own way of life. They just happen to live in America or Canada or Australia.

I love the real estate agent who says opposition to the Orthodox pouring in is motivated by fear of the unknown. I’d say the opposition is motivated by fear of the known. In Australia, for example, there’s little anti-Semitism except for in Sydney and Melbourne, where people are more likely to meet real live Jews.

Orthodox Jews and orthodox Muslims and blacks and latinos are not inherently good guys or bad guys. It depends on their behavior and it depends on the old dynamic of who, whom? Who is doing what to whom? Whose ox is gored? If you want to keep a sleepy polite low-intensity neighborhood, you are not going to want Orthodox Jews moving in. As with all insular groups, the stronger the Jews’ Jewish identity, the less likely he is to be concerned with those outside the group.

A lot of Orthodox Jews don’t take the same care with their landscaping and their yelling and their general behavior that good citizen WASPs usually take. Orthodox Jews have other concerns, such as keeping God’s commandments. Orthodox Jews are not the bad guys here, they are the bad guys for those residents of Toms River who want to maintain a different type of community than the one many Orthodox Jews want to create. What we have here is not a failure to communicate but a genuine conflict of interest.

Modern Orthodox Jews tend to make good neighbors and to keep up their yards. More traditional Jews are less likely to be concerned with such niceties.

If Orthodox Jews dominate a neighborhood, they are not going to want to pay taxes to support public schools. Their concern is with developing Jewish schools, just as whites dealing with a lot of blacks and latinos become increasingly opposed to funding social welfare programs that will largely be used by non-whites.

The more generations Jews live in the West, the more they assimilate to Western norms. Most Jews in the United States, however, are from Eastern Europe, where they live in an atmosphere of mutual loathing with the goyim for centuries. Jews from Western Europe, by contrast, found much to admire and imitate in gentile life.

I think it is clear that the Orthodox are going to run this neighborhood in question. Whether the town, like Postville before it, is better for that remains to be seen.

Many of the problems the Orthodox are having in this new town could be diminished by consideration for the other party’s point of view.

I suspect that most non-Orthodox Jews will have more sympathy for the town than for the Orthodox in this fight.

REPORT:

Every home is big on glass in a Toms River, New Jersey, neighborhood called North Dover. Windows let in the sun, or show off chandeliers in multistory entrance halls.
These days, though, most homeowners draw the blinds, retreating from brushes with a fast-growing Orthodox Jewish community that’s trying to turn a swath of suburban luxury 10 miles (16 kilometers) from Atlantic beaches into an insular enclave. The rub, a township inquiry found, is “highly annoying, suspicious and creepy” tactics used by some real-estate agents.

They show up on doorsteps to tell owners that if they don’t sell, they’ll be the only non-Orthodox around. Strangers, sometimes several to a car, shoot photos and videos. When they started pulling over to ask children which house was theirs, parents put an end to street-hockey games.
“It’s like an invasion,” said Thomas Kelaher, Toms River’s three-term mayor, who’s fielded complaints from the North Dover section since mid-2015. “It’s the old throwback to the 1960s, when blockbusting happened in Philadelphia and Chicago with the African-American community — ‘I want to buy your house. You’ll be sorry if you don’t.’ It scares the hell out of people.”
Scholarly Community
The upset has its roots in adjacent Lakewood, home to yeshivas including Beth Medrash Govoha, among the world’s biggest centers for Talmudic study. Scholars typically marry young and start large families that maintain strict gender roles and limit interaction with secular society.
Rabbi Avi Schnall, state director of Agudath Israel of America, which represents Orthodox Jews on political, social and religious issues, said a few sales agents “are overly aggressive and making a bad name for the others.” He declined to say whether anti-Semitism is at work, but said the “extent of the anger” in Lakewood’s neighboring towns is deep, fueling opposition to a learning center, a boarding school, dormitories and other proposals.

…The friction reflects increasing insularity among the most religious Jews worldwide. In Israel, the Haredi inhabit a largely separate social world, according to a Pew Research Center survey this month. They share few connections even with their fellow Jews and there is scant intermarriage; 89 percent of the Haredim surveyed said all or most of their close friends belonged to their own community.
Though just 10 percent of America’s 5.3 million Jewish adults identify themselves as Orthodox, they have much larger families than others of their religion, and “their share of the Jewish population will grow,” according to a 2015 Pew survey. Their conservatism could “shift the profile of American Jews in several areas, including religious beliefs and practices, social and political views and demographic characteristics.”
Lakewood, once a rural destination for Rockefellers and other industry titans, is now a land of synagogues, religious schools, kosher groceries and residential neighborhoods in the grip of minivan gridlock. It’s also a place testing the limits of zoning enforcement for 95,000 people, at least half Orthodox, by Schnall’s estimate…

The opposition, he said, has nothing to do with dislike of Jews, but with a fear that Toms River will become like Lakewood’s more tattered sections, with cars parked on lawns, overgrown landscaping, trash piled at curbs and residents crowding single-family homes.
