Review: In ‘My Father, the Pornographer,’ Chris Offutt Opens Up

Jennifer Senior writes: You have to wonder whether Andy Offutt’s furious, sadistic imagination also explains his sadism toward his children. Porn may not have been outlet enough. (He frequently told his son that were it not for pornography, he’d have been a serial killer.) More important, though, I think you have to wonder how it affected the adolescent sexuality of his children: What happens when your father is a furnace not just of smoldering rage, but of ferocious, shocking fantasies?

Mr. Offutt doesn’t seem to go in for “dime-story psychology,” as he calls it at one point. But we do get a clue. It’s the most tragic part of his memoir, and it arrives by stealth. At roughly the same moment he describes exploring the mysterious contents of his father’s office, he recalls his visits to the “fatman,” an overweight sad sack in town who sexually abused Chris when he was 15.

“Later, I decided that my parents would be proud of my open-mindedness in such a small town,” he writes. “I believed that what I was doing with the fatman made me similar to them. They wrote porn and had affairs. If they knew about the fatman, they would respect me, maybe even like me.”

It really hurts to read this.

Through it all, Mr. Offutt somehow manages to summon compassion for his father. That, ultimately, is what makes this memoir so unexpectedly moving. He admires his dad’s bravery for choosing a writing life. He wishes his dad didn’t have to become a hack, seeing real potential in his fecund, rambunctious imagination. And most of all, he pities his father’s loneliness, for being sentenced to a lifetime preoccupation with torture and a headful of savage sexual fantasies, predicated on the harming of innocents.

He failed at mainstream films, and is the target of sexual abuse allegations. His pathetic father can’t land him a job at JPL based on a few semesters at Pasadena City College. And I doubt he’ll be doing commercials for Papa John’s or Nationwide Insurance any time soon. He can’t even endorse condoms because he was so outspoken against their use in adult films. A sausage company perhaps? No, Jimmy Dean is already taken. What is poor Bryan Matthew (Baruch Menashe) Sevilla to do? I recommend he hook up with Chabad (maybe I should have used another verb), and go on celebrity speaking tours about how he returned to his faith.

Do Whites Have A Future In The Democratic Party?

* If I was a Democratic party bigwig, I’d be terrified of this stuff — how stuff you said 20 years ago in a completely different political environment could come back and haunt you for being insufficiently progressive by modern standards.

I wonder how all this must look to, say, politically ambitious kids of about high school age. I’ve always thought the hyper-ambitious Marco Rubio types that political parties depend on have their political views shaped at least partially by their own career self-interest — whichever ideology seems the most likely to deliver a person like themselves to the Oval Office is the one they naturally find the most persuasive.

Well, right now, there’s an entire generation of ambitious, charismatic young white kids who are constantly being pounded over the head with the message that they have no future in the Democratic Party. How could they? In addition to being hostile to white people in general, the party presents no plausible career path to anybody who’s not black, gay or transgender. Hillary Clinton checked the right boxes at every single stage of her entire career and she’s on the verge of being bamboozled — again — by yet another freak electoral phenomenon that nobody would have seen coming just two years ago. And here’s Genius T. Coates roasting her over coals for doing what, back in the 90s, was considered the smart move. If you’re a calculating Tracy Flick type, how do you plan for any of this?

Meanwhile, you look at the Republican race, and it’s full of folks that you just know were president of every club in high school. Even the wild card Trump presents a plausible model for an ambitious kid who has loads of charisma. What go-getter student government nerd looks at Bernie Sanders and says, “if I play my cards right, that could be me?”

* “Hillary Clinton checked the right boxes at every single stage of her entire career and she’s on the verge of being bamboozled — again — by yet another freak electoral phenomenon that nobody would have seen coming just two years ago.”

Referring to Hillary Clinton losing the nomination as a “freak electoral phenomenon” brings to mind Ben Stiller’s line from “Zoolander” about a “freak gasoline fight accident.”

* The left really lives in this bizarro-world-echo-chamber where mediocre black writers’ opinions on who should be president are worthy of national headlines.

I wish nothing but self-awareness upon on them. Because that will be worse than an atom bomb to their egos.

* Don’t forget that Hillary had more black support then Obama in 2007. They did not know what to make of the half-white guy with the funny name. Most blacks are low information voters who go by name recognition. They also tend to be brand loyal. For example, blacks stuck with Cadillac long after whites started shifting to foreign luxury cars.

It was only when Obama started winning primaries (thanks to white antiwar voters) that blacks started to take him seriously.

* Interesting to note that TNC was asked for his opinion on the Democratic primary, and the best he could come up with was that 20 years ago Hilary Clinton used a word that triggered him. This is not exactly what I would expect from someone who aspires to be “America’s most foremost public intellectual.”

It’s hard to conceive of the political-cultural climate becoming any more moronic.

* I have always wondered what it feels like to know that the only way you can win an election is due to the support of people from a different racial or ethnic group. I mean most people running for office would like to think that they are representative of their community or group. Most probably take it for granted that they will have the support of their community, and in national elections, their home state (Al Gore).

But in the case of Hillary, she was soundly rejected in New Hampshire by an overwhelming number of white gentiles while a Jewish man carried the day. However, her hopes now rest upon getting the black vote. If she had connected with other white, American gentiles, she’d have this in the bag. She still has a great chance of winning. But it will have to be done by appealing to a different demographic.

I just wonder what this feels like to be rejected by your own people and now be forced to depend upon others to get elected. That, in and of itself, is almost an indictment against the candidate who can’t even take their own demographic, isn’t it?

* Bernie should seek the Beyoncé endorsement, that really could put a nail in the coffin of the Hillary campaign. Normally someone as affluent as Beyoncé might not want to promote socialism, however Bernie could offer the “minority oppression tax exemption” from his 90% top tax rate on the rich. For pre-designated members of the coalition of the fringes, there top rate would max out at just 30%.

* Weaker black kids may be set upon by stronger black kids, and there may be some fear associated with this… but also pride.
After all, we do identify by race. So, even if black kids act like thugs, they be acting tough and strong. So, even if the Hissy Coates was sometimes pushed around by them, he also exulted in their black power.

If a white kid is bullied by blacks, he is totally defeated as both individual and whitey.
But if a black kid is bullied by blacks, he is defeated as an individual but may feel a bit of pride in that blacks are so tough.

We see such toady behavior among whites too. After all, plenty of toady whites hang around as sidekicks to bigger stronger whites. Even as they get pushed around, they feel flattered that they are part of the tough guy community.

Guys like Spike Flea and The Hissy Coates feel something strange in relation to blacks. They are smarter than most Negroes and creative or ‘intellectual’(if not exactly genius). And their interests don’t appeal to most Negroes who be into rap, sports, and thuggery. So, someone like Flea and Hissy would have been nowhere without white support since white Libs are more into art cinema and social ‘philosophy’. And on some level, Flea and Hissy must be grateful to whites. But they also feel like buppie sellouts who butter their bread by appealing to white bread.

So, they make a big fuss about how they be black, proud, and angry too.
But in fact, most blacks don’t care about what they’re into. And Flea and Hissy would be safer among whites and even white cops than among da brothaz and sistaz.
But this makes them feel like sellouts.

Also, even they fear black fury and rage, they are proud of it cuz it’s so badass. They wouldn’t want to live blacks thugs, but they is proud that black thugs are the alphas of American Culture.

Flea and Hissy are impressed by black thuggery and want to be associated with its badass power.
But then, they are also sensitive about blacks being thought of as ‘thugs’ cuz that be ‘racist’.

Blacks love Thug Pride but don’t want to be called thugs.

It’s like feminists now…love Slut Pride but don’t want to be called sluts.

And Jews love chutzpah pride (and take great joy in running circles around goyim) but don’t want to be seen as pushy Jews.

Is This The Archetypal Alpha Male Body Language?

Everything from the posture, to the stride, to the body language, to the insouciant look on his face screams alpha and oozes charisma. These fledgling beta male gamer types could learn volumes from this photo alone. Jeb too. But he’s a lost cause.

Jeb is useful as a lesson in what not to do. He’ll never let us down on that job.

As for Trump’s victory stride… yes, I’d have to agree that is about the most alpha male pose a man could strike. The open torso and Christ-like welcoming hands ready to embrace believers are the foundation that support the entire alpha edifice. Open body language is alpha because it makes one vulnerable to attack, which implies that the man intentionally opening his body is confident no one will dare attack him, or if he is attacked he will fend it off easily.

Women (and men) perceive this gregarious posture as the look of an alpha male, because it triggers ancient stirrings in the primal cores of our brains. We are a divinely inspired species, but the animal instinct is always there, lurking, to remind us of our earthly shackles.

FYI, open facial expressions evoke the opposite perception in people. Wide eyes, raised eyebrows and open mouth communicate beta maleness. Combining a closed facial expression with an open body language is the recipe for influencing people’s perceptions of you as the arch-alpha.

Take a look at this photo of Marco Roboto hugging – or trying to hug – his wife Jeanette.

How many of the diseases of modernism can we see in just this one photo? He has fag-face and at the same time he has the face of a scheming jew. And who dresses like that?

The woman is completely repulsed by him but she also appears to be an anorexic and a bulimic, the facial thinness in conjunction with the nasal-labial lines being indications of the poor condition of her intestinal flora, which bring on those conditions and other “mental” issues. She won’t hug him but clutches the phone, which she may not be able to put down as the skin of her palm has possibly grown around it.

The hair indicates depression. She is confused. What color should her hair be and how should it be styled? She can’t decide and won’t listen to advice. So she just lets it grow out, like sidewalk grass outside a derelict building.

What Happens In An Alexander Technique Lesson?

‘Generally we start by just having a look at your general pattern of use, basically how you use yourself in everyday activities,’ says Robert Schubert, an Alexander Technique instructor.

‘If you’re hurting yourself in some even minimal way in those activities, [if] you do that for years you could end up in trouble.’

One common problem that occurs with sitting, Schubert notes, is tightening of the neck and back muscles.

‘You actually don’t need to do that to sit down, that’s just a habit you’ve developed.’

Alexander called these problems ‘misuses of ourselves’.

‘A lot of this back tightening goes on for years and years and years and then people get a sore back and they don’t know why.’

In an example Alexander lesson, Schubert asks me to think about letting my neck release as I sit down—it’s a simple instruction and it’s not hard to do, but how readily does it become habitual?

‘That depends on how much you practise,’ says Schubert.

Musicians and performing artists, Schubert says, make for good Alexander practitioners—they’re used to being aware of their body.

For the rest of us, it can be more challenging, says Schubert. ‘It can feel a little laborious for some people. That’s quite normal, while your body recalibrates along the lines of an improved movement.’

Schubert says that the difficulty with Alexander Technique is not the technique itself, it’s remembering to employ it.

Who is the Alexander Technique for?

Instructors reckon almost everyone can benefit from the Alexander Technique, not just sportspeople and performing artists.

Lucia Walker, a senior instructor, says her clients include a knitting group and a convent. ‘The sisters want help with how they look after themselves, both serving dinner and kneeling to pray and bowing.’

Another instructor, Kazimirs Krasovskis, has worked with belly dancers—which he says was lots of fun—but also people in the course of their everyday jobs. ‘There was a lady who was a funeral director, she was having problems carrying coffins down the stairs.’

Krasovskis himself uses the technique for his own gym sessions, and sees many people exercising in potentially harmful ways.

‘I was amazed at how much people misuse their bodies through straining to lift weights that are possibly too heavy for them.’

If he’s doing shoulder exercises by lifting dumb-bells, Krasovskis has learnt what his bad habits are. ‘I know that I can arch my back unnecessarily, so through knowing that that’s my habit I can do that exercise more efficiently.’

Algerian Sex Attacker Shouted “Inshallah”–If Allah Wills It–as He Raped a 25-Year-Old German Student

An Algerian man who almost killed his 25-year-old student victim shouted out ‘if Allah wills it’ in Arabic as he raped her in a darkened alley, a court has heard.

The man, identified only by his first name Rheda, is accused of following the student as she walked home from a nightclub at 5am in Hannover, Germany.

Afterwards, with his victim badly beaten, he is alleged to have climbed off her and asked her if she enjoyed it.

The shocking details were revealed at the trial of the 37-year-old asylum seeker from Algeria who has denied rape. Prosecutors say DNA evidence links him to the crime.

The young woman, identified only by her first name Lara, said it was the worst moment of her life when she was attacked.

She said: ‘He asked me in broken German if I had [the] time. Before I could reply he then grabbed me by the arm and pulled me down an alleyway.

‘He told me “I need sex”. I opened my mouth to scream but he put his hand over my mouth. I had a pepper spray, and I tried to spray it at him but he grabbed it off me, and used it on me instead.

‘Then he threw me onto the ground, and tried to pull off my trousers but he couldn’t do it. Then he started screaming at me to get undressed.’

She told the court she had tried to win time by begging him to leave her alone and hoped that someone would come past.

Nobody did, and when she tried to scream again he started beating her in the face and he sprayed the pepper spray on her face again.

He had banged her head on the ground repeatedly until she was almost unconscious, and she thought she was going to die.

She said: ‘He put his hand over my mouth and closed my nose, and I thought I was going to suffocate. I then indicated to him that I had given in, and would do what he wanted if he let me breathe.’

He then raped her and she said that throughout he was talking to himself, shouting ‘Inshallah’–which is Arabic for ‘if Allah wills it’.

She said: ‘Afterwards he asked me if it was good, and if I had enjoyed it.’

Her voice then broke as she added: ‘I never would have thought something like that could happen to me. I just couldn’t comprehend it. I thought I was going to die.’

She identified her alleged attacker in court. He denies rape.

NYT: Coaching Stars to Avoid a ‘Racist Against Whites’ Moment

Concerns peaked after Charlotte Rampling, the British best actress nominee from “45 Years,” told a French radio station last month that talk of a boycott was “racist against whites.” Her publicity team, aghast, quickly went to work, and Ms. Rampling said that her words had been misinterpreted (even though that is what she had said, verbatim) and that “in an ideal world every performance will be given equal opportunities.” But for fellow nominees, she served as the most cautionary of examples: Don’t be like Charlotte. Or Julie Delpy, or Michael Caine, two other non-American actors who found themselves in hot water after weighing in. Ms. Delpy said Hollywood was easier on black people, and Mr. Caine said black actors ought to be patient. Ms. Delpy apologized for her comments; Mr. Caine did not.
“Personal publicists everywhere are preparing their clients for the appropriate thing to say,” said Dennis Rice, a marketing consultant and academy member who ran awards campaigns while working at Miramax and Disney. “I’d be surprised if the vast majority wouldn’t take the high road and say the politically correct thing.”

It’s not that black celebrities are being advised to not say things that are “racist against whites,” it’s that white celebrities are being coached to not say that statements by blacks that are racist against whites are “racist against whites.”

* The most interesting character/best role in most recent films is that of the villain. Hollywood hasn’t cast black actors as villains for the past 30+ years because racism…. or something. This “soft bigotry of avoiding stereotypes” has deprived countless black actors an opportunity to shine.

* Most of this flagellation of whites is being conducted by a certain segment of the white population itself which have assumed the role of being justice warriors and are out to police everyone else. By themselves blacks have little power and could be ignored. They could be told simply that everything is on a merit basis and that they’d have to perform in order to place rather than being lazy and just expecting to get things through the quota lottery. * Speaking of raaaaacism, The Martian got to Redbox this week so I rented it and watched it last night. Good story, realistic special effects, Matt Damon was good, but a bit long at 2:20.

But what kind of spoiled it for me was the relentless PC casting: the Mission director was black, the head of the Probe team looked like a Hawaiian, and had a guy who looked like a Pakistani. Then there was a Hindu, and the commander of the mission was Jessica Chastain, a red head who looks like she is about 23 and weighs 95 pounds. Did I mention that there was another female on the mission, and a guy named Gonzalez? FFS, they had everybody but a Caitlyn Jenner and a babe in a burkha! No white guys with crew cuts and pocket protectors, no sireee.

* The only organization that is attempting to make things better for blacks is Dr. Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam. Every other organization has a vested and profitable interest in keeping the majority of the black population as dependent as possible.

* Women need room in their imaginations to respond to their own fears, anxieties and desires. They need room to imagine themselves with black men (even though they rarely marry them) and they need to imagine themselves as open-armed mothers of the world (brown immigrants welcome! especially with children, even if white women are determined to be career women who have someone else take care of their children).

When mean white men give them factual information, it’s difficult for them to use their fantasies as they need to. And that makes them upset. And betas give in.

And don’t forget that the struggles of women against patriarchy and the struggles of blacks against slavery are intertwined in America. Anti white means against patriarchy (men in control) and against slavery, which women imagine applies to themselves as well.

* I keep hoping that so-called minorities will get their wish, where the top-line often appears to be, “we want our own stuff, and YT can stay the hell out of it.”

Imagine a USA in one of these conditions:

2. 100% YT

In which one are nuke plants melting down? Rivers choked with refuse and waste? Streets crumbling, water mains breaking, bridges falling down, and people starving in the street? In which one is every street corner a shooting gallery (until the ammo runs out, wherein reversion to spears takes place?)

Give every self-identifying group their own land. Put up high walls because they make for good neighbors.

Shoot every sumbitch who tries to circumvent said walls uninvited, and eject anyone who attempts to invite any of the other’s individuals to overstay but a brief (invited) visit.

I don’t much appreciate the rhetoric of hate. If you hate me, then stop using the political system to take my stuff. Create your own. If you can. If you can’t, then tough tiddlywinks.

I don’t need you. If you need me, then you’d better get used to being polite to me, or one day soon I’ll tell you to leave me alone and reinforce my preference physically if forced.

* I just saw Gone Girl on Netflix with my girlfriend and another couple. Tyler Perry played a lawyer, and my buddy’s wife said he was so great, and I had to ask why she thought he was so great. She said it was simply because she could understand what he was saying, unlike most black actors.

We degenerate the parameters for minorities. Black actors are proof Heinlein’s expression: it’s not how well the bear dances, but that it dances at all.

Report: Anti-White Agenda Revealed at GitHub’s Diversity Team

From Breitbart: Online source code repository and team collaboration service GitHub has been under fire after an anti-white agenda was revealed within the company’s “Social Impact Team.”

According to Tech Insider’s reveal on GitHub’s current situation, CEO Chris Wanstrath is radically changing the company. The former flat structure that eliminated substantial hierarchy has been replaced with supervisors and middle managers, and the ability for employees to work remotely has been cut back in favour of mandatory office working environments. These changes have prompted many long-term employees to leave, with some reportedly being ousted if they cannot meet the new requirements.

GitHub’s Social Impact Team, which is “in charge of figuring out how to use the product to tackle social issues” has also faced heavy criticism. Headed by diversity consultant Nicole Sanchez, the team’s previous achievements include working with the White House to fit “low-income homes” with free Wi-Fi around the country, but the team is now focused on diversifying the company’s workforce.

“It is very hard to even interview people who are ‘white,’” claimed an anonymous GitHub employee speaking to Tech Insider. It’s a claim that seems shocking but should come as no surprise considering Sanchez’s previous outspoken statements on diversity.

In February 2015, Sanchez wrote an article for USA Today entitled “More white women does not equal tech diversity,” and during a diversity training talk Sanchez even stated that technology was “not work for white folks to lead” and that “some of the biggest barriers to progress are white women.”

Danilo Campos, the technical director at GitHub’s Social Impact Team, is also no stranger to controversial comments about race.

Diversifying the workplace is not uncommon in today’s technology landscape, with leading giants such as Twitter, Dropbox, and Yahoo engaging in a variety of diversity programmes, but GitHub seems to have taken the mantle for most racially controversial. Many users on social media, including regular users of GitHub, have expressed outrage.

Jewish man arrested ‘after posting swastikas on doors’

Daily Telegraph: A family business dispute drove David Haddad, 56, of Manhattan, who is Jewish, to make threatening phone calls to his mother, 80, and two other women, ages 87 and 78, a police source said.
Both the 87-year-old woman and a 78-year-old woman had anti-Semitic threats made to them over a month-long period and racist threats were left on a voicemail message, police said. Swastikas were also drawn on their apartment doors.
“He threatened to kill the other individual on the phone as well as her relatives,” said a police spokesman. “He said basically that all Jews should die and go to hell.”
Haddad, who was charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime, also was accused of taping notes with anti-Semitic symbols including swastikas on five apartment doors and in the hallway of a building in the Chelsea neighbourhood of Manhattan, US.
Swastikas were spray-painted on garage doors, some with the words “Die Jews”, which police believe was part of Haddad’s anti-Semitic spree.
