A Jewish friend tells me: I especially liked P.R. Stephensen’s assessment of Anti-Semitism. The more of them I read, the more I understand the ADL’s desire to suppress what they have to say. If looked at dispassionately, it will be very difficult for Jews to argue that anti-semitism is purely irrational instead of recognizing that it is a manifestation of a group seeing that Jewish interests are not necessarily aligned with the interests that the nation as a whole would pursue absent Jewish influence.
One of the things I am thinking about is that on some level, perhaps not even conscious, Jews fear that if the reasons for rejecting refugees from Syria (and Muslims from the middle east and sub Saharan Africa) and the reasons for wanting to curtail immigration (both illegal and legal) gain acceptance, it is inevitable that core Americans (and even non-core Americans such as Blacks, Asians and Latinos who exhibit a higher level of anti Jewish feeling than core Americans) will begin to assess Jews and their influence on America on a cost benefit analysis. Once the costs are known, Jews may find themselves in a more precarious position in American life than they are now.
Jewish immigration to the United States was not a reaction to European Anti Semitism. The reason Jews left the Pale of Settlement in Tsarist Russia was for economic, not religious reasons. As evidence, all of the European and Eastern European Jewish learning centers remained there. The Rabbis and scholars did not come the United States. Most Jews in Europe stayed put, the number who emigrated were a minority.
Jews tend to look at instances of anti Semitism (the Dreyfuss affair) or Pogroms as things that triggered emigration, but this is simply not borne out historically.
It was only during WWII that anti Semitism gave rise to genocide. So when Jew talk about how if only America had opened its doors to millions of Jews, they wouldn’t have been killed by the Nazis that is nonsense. The Wannsee conference took place on January 20, 1942 [which settled on mass killing of Jews].

UC Santa Cruz Chancellor Denice Denton, apparently despondent over work and personal issues, died Saturday after she jumped from the roof of a 42-story San Francisco apartment building, police said. Denton’s partner, Gretchen Kalonji, has an apartment in the building, property records show.
Denton, a well-regarded engineer, had been named this spring in a series of articles examining UC management compensation. She had been criticized for an expensive university-funded renovation on her campus home, and for obtaining a UC administrative job for Kalonji.
Denton, 46, died Saturday morning after jumping from the Paramount at Mission and Third streets, police said. The building is advertised as San Francisco’s tallest luxury rental apartment building. A guest at the nearby Argent Hotel called authorities at 8:17 a.m. to report a body on the roof of a parking structure below the apartment building, police said. The medical examiner ruled her death a suicide.
Denton had been on medical leave from the university since June 15 and was expected to return to work this week, said UC Santa Cruz spokesman Jim Burns. She was absent from the university’s commencement exercises last week because she was not feeling well, he said.
Denton’s mother, Carolyn Mabee, was in the apartment building at the time of her death, police said. She told authorities that her daughter was “very depressed” about her professional and personal life.

“Dedicating” a supposedly scientific report to anybody seems a little odd. But, then, there is much that is odd, yet instructively representative, about the life and extraordinary death of Denice Denton.
Denton had won national praise for standing up after Summers gave his talk and (in her own words) daring to “speak truth to power”.
It then turned out, however, that Denton wasn`t exactly powerless herself. She was UC Santa Cruz`s chancellor-designate at $275,000 per annum.
She had just been hired away from the University of Washington, where as dean of engineering she had strongly favored “ethnic minorities, gays and lesbians, immigrants, international students and faculty” — in other words, everybody except the single largest group of engineering students under her control: straight white males. Toward their welfare she exhibited a tender regard reminiscent of that of Trotsky and Stalin for Ukrainian peasants.
Denton turned her UC Santa Cruz investiture ceremony into a two-day marathon on the theme of ” Achieving Excellence Through Diversity” which featured “inspiration and perspectives from Angela Davis, Professor, History of Consciousness”.
Denton`s Inaugural Address sounded almost like self-parody:
“What is diversity? I believe that diversity encompasses ethnicity, race, gender, gender identification, sexual orientation, culture, religion, academic discipline, class, ability/disability, nation of origin, diversity of perspective, age, socioeconomic status, and any other aspect of difference that characterizes humanity.”
(Hey, how about handedness? How come lefthanders, who have to struggle with scissors designed for the uncaring majority, merely get lumped into the miscellaneous forms of diversity at the end? That is so insensitive.)
Yet, being a fiery leftist didn`t stop Denton from cashing in. Tanya Schevitz reported in the San Francisco Chronicle (January 20, 2005) on how Denton played the game:

Denton then had the university spend lavishly on the home provided for her. The Chronicle reported:
“Before she moved into her university-provided house on campus in 2005, she asked for dozens of improvements — everything from a new fence for her dogs to new wiring, speakers, amplifier and CD player for a built-in sound system, according to university documents. The dog run for her two border collies cost $30,000.
Denton and Kalonji had a powerful defender in the woman scientist who had previously headed UC Santa Cruz. M.R.C. Greenwood played the gender card in praising the college`s two-for-the-price-of-three deal: UCSC “should be commended for attracting and hiring two very qualified female engineers”.
A lesbian blogger at UCSC wrote:
“MRC [Greenwood] is also a lesbian, and was out when she was a Dean at UC Davis. But although everyone knew it, no one ever reported in the press that she was a lesbian.”
Greenwood herself had just moved up to the number two position in the entire University of California system, provost, at $380,000 per year, almost $100,000 more than the man she replaced.
Moreover, Greenwood had quietly brought with her from Santa Cruz a female scientist friend named Lynda Goff, with whom the new provost secretly owned property, to fill the novel post of ” Executive Faculty Associate to the Provost”, with a salary of $192,100.
Are you noticing a pattern here – involving female UC honchos and $192k salaries for their close personal friends?
Eventually, Greenwood was forced to resign over the ethical improprieties of the post for Goff and the job that she had procured at UC Merced for her son from a failed marriage.
In November 2005, the managing editor of the Santa Cruz Sentinel, Don Miller, wrote about the scandals surrounding Greenwood and Denton, and concluded:
“It also adds fuel to the fire of complaints by faculty and students of a highly paid `elite` at UC and to the whisper campaign that what is seen by some as a powerful coterie of lesbians has gained power and influence within the UC system.” [Don Miller: Strange days and ancient forebodings, November 5, 2005]
For mentioning the L-word, Miller was of course forced to issue a retraction. Which (of course) still wasn`t good enough for the diversicrats, so, according to Metroactive.com, a local alternative paper,

Oh yes, and they also agreed to continue diversity training, even though one Sentinel publisher in attendance tellingly whined that `we`ve already sat through diversity training.`”
Ironically, once in office, Denton was repeatedly harassed by student protestors even farther to the left. A UCSC staffer noted: “The radical activist community saw two things about Denton: her skin color, and her title.”
Despite Denton`s endless harping on diversity and on her lesbianism, to the demonstrators she was just another evil white person.
On June 24, 2006, UC Santa Cruz Chancellor Denice Denton, age 46, depressed by professional and personal woes, climbed to the roof of her lesbian lover`s luxury 42-story apartment building and leapt to her death.
It`s a sad story – but highly instructive about the type of person that the cult of diversity puts into power over us.

A man screaming “go back to Israel” and “swear to Allah” had to be forcibly pinned to the ground after a scuffle outside a Melbourne synagogue yesterday.
The enraged man cornered an orthodox Jew and then slapped him during an argument outside the Adass Synagogue, south of Melbourne…
Repeatedly claiming to be of Aboriginal descent, he is seen screaming at the Jewish man to “go back to Israel”.
“I am from Australia,” the Jewish man responds.
Tensions boil over when man in the red t-shirt tries to grab the other man around the neck and is tackled by a group of onlookers in religious dress.
I’d say more about one aspect of this story, but Jewish leaders supported the retention of a law that makes debate too dangerous.

* It’s hard to deal with these sorts of girls, because they take a small scale personal conflict and escalate it into a societal issue and rope as many others into the drama as possible.
They will force all their Facebook friends and teachers, and other authority figures to get involved in the issue and choose a side…and god help whoever chooses the wrong side.
There is a fear of getting labelled a rape apologist or racist or ugly monster. Once you are tainted by these accusations, you can find yourself socially isolated…which is something no teenager wants.
I think the changes happening are really affecting girls most of all. Boys are pretty much as they always were in private or among themselves – but they are smart enough to not want to stick their necks out and get themselves in trouble.
* A factor in the feminization of young white males over recent decades — at least as regards public school students — has been lower participation rates in the contact sports due to at least two factors:
1) school and school district consolidation beginning mainly in the 1970s: This resulted in much larger consolidated high schools where sports like football became increasingly the domain of elite athletes. My county in western North Carolina had 9 small community high schools in the 1950s and early 1960s. Each high school had a football team, for example. Now, with it has 3 high schools, and that’s with a population about twice as large as when there were nine high schools. Where there was once 9 quarterbacks, there are now 3.
2) racial integration: This put whites, who mature about a year later than blacks, at a disadvantage in competition for starting positions, quite apart for innate average differences in the foot speed, for example.
* Women enforce social norms far more than men do. This is why the popularity of PC among women is such a problem. They do not face you like a man. They spread poison behind the back of their chosen victims.
HBD-friendly groups need women and Jews (for their esprit de corps and IQ). Driving them away is folly. I have tried to appeal to their self-interest by pointing out that the people moving to Europe are violently anti-Semitic and misogynistic. * Have you ever read Tom Wolfe’s essay “Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers”? The punchline is that all of the pampered little minorities who get to act out their grievances end up, in the end, back in the projects living miserable lives.

* Women in the Nordic countries like sports more than women in the Mediterranean countries.
Nobody seems less interested in sports than Mexican-American girls. Has there ever been a prominent Mexican-American female athlete? I used to assume that Lisa Fernandez, the great UCLA softball player of the 1980s, was a local Mexican-American girl, but she turns out to be Caribbean (Cuban and Puerto Rican) born in NYC.
If you take hair dye out of the equation, I bet natural blonde girls tend to be more into sports than natural brunettes. It could be nature, it could be nurture, I don’t know, but compare female sports participation in Sweden to Italy. Italian women are expected to spend a lot of time each day on grooming and seldom get intensely into sports.
But, now that I think about it, there is the caveat that time spent in the sunshine and in chlorinated swimming pools tends to lighten hair, so girls on the swim team or cross country team, for example, tend to be blonder than they would be without environmental influences.
* So in 2006 the Harvard mean girl professors found ways of ganging up on men such as Harvard President Lawrence Summers. Just as an aside, Donna Shalala is mentioned in your 2006 VDare. She now heads the Clinton Foundation. Hill and Humma and Donna…old lesbians networking. May be complete bs but repeated on Rush Limbaugh that Hill & Huma share a suite when on the road.
* I’ve noticed this behavior amongst 20-something women in bars whenever I engage. If I say something off color, their nose wrinkles and I get the “That’s offensive!” line, followed by a pause, within which I’m supposed to grovel and beg forgiveness. The first few times I got this response, I myself paused , feeling like I was in the Twilight Zone, but thankfully never apologized.
Now I’ve gotten a bit more aggressive, and if one of them pulls the “That’s offensive!” line, I laugh and tell them to blow it out their backside, or else to toughen up. If they persist in telling me how much what I said was “offensive”, I ask them and their friends if they’re always such a lousy person to hang out with. Then I stop talking to them.
And for the record, I’m usually just making a minor joke involving sex or race or homosexuality. It’s nothing worse that what you might hear on Family Guy or Archer or South Park or some other partially-politically incorrect show. And I’m definitely not threatening them.
A few of these girls even went to a bouncer/bartender to complain about what I’d said—in other words, they tried to tell the teacher. Note this was after I’d stopped talking to them and refusing to engage if they tried. The bouncers/bartenders usually tell them to just let it go, at which they get even angrier: it seems as if this is the first time in their lives that they couldn’t have an “offensive” person hung, drawn, and quartered at a whim.
This is a Princess Syndrome: in school and in work environments, we’ve given women a princess-like power over men, the ability to yell “off with their heads” at any moment, and be completely obeyed without question. A privileged American woman might grow from childhood to mid-20s these days and might never have a moment where her feelings aren’t paramount over a male’s feelings or beliefs, and when she didn’t have the immediate power to ruin his life for hurting her feelings.
* I totally agree that women are more cruel than men once we take violent interactions out of the picture. It’s very hard, if not mostly impossible, for straight men to realize the extent to which this is the case, because they are biologically programmed to protect women. Gay men, who professionally interact with large numbers of women, are more likely to be aware of the self-serving downside of women and less likely to feel as if they are walking on eggshells around them. Gay men don’t take women anywhere as seriously as straight men.
* Two separate elites dislike each other, but because they’re both elite they propagate policies that support them, and the net effect is to propagate policies that support elite policies.
There’s an elite right that wants to keep wages down, because they own businesses and want to make more money. In the old days, they went in for red scares, etc., preventing socialism from ever taking root. They didn’t really care that much about cultural-right issues like obscenity on TV, etc, so the left won those fights.
There’s an elite left that wants to end poverty, racism, etc. They’re behind all the ridiculous SJW crap coming out of the universities. They don’t really care that much about paycheck issues like unions anymore, so the right won those fights.
The end result is that the left won the cultural war (LGBTCBY, sex on TV, white men are evil) and the right won the economic war (wages are low), which screws over…working-class white men. Exactly who’s going for Trump.
Since there’s a lot of math and science people here: Let populist-elitist issues like immigration be denoted by the y axis (of course, the elites are on top), and traditional left-right stuff like abortion and affirmative action be denoted by the x axis (of course, the ‘right’ is on the positive side on the right of the graph paper). The elite right pulls up and to the right, the elite left pulls up and to the left, and you wind up going ‘up’–with big profits for big business and the working and middle classes balkanized by race and gender.
* Richard Spencer has talked in some podcast appearances about how the white bourgeois class has acted against white people’s interests in general. Traditionally Western societies had aristocracies to put a check on the greed of merchants, bankers and capitalists, and this had the effect of maintaining white identity; but then aristocracies lost the social and cultural wars of the Enlightenment, and their influence went into decline in the following egalitarian age. Now the commercial elite, at least in the U.S., can do pretty much whatever it wants, though it might take a few election cycles and some strategic investments to get its way.
* When whites reject blacks, SJW’s call the whites “racists” and the blacks “victims.”
When women reject men, SJW’s call the women “empowered” and the rejects “losers.”
I’d rather live in the world of empowered whites which shows more consideration for male sexual rejects than we currently see. At least the Catholic Church demonstrated that it valued the rejects’ lives when it set up celibate monastic orders to give them homes and some measure of dignity.
I keep getting asked about former adult film star Jenna Jameson’s new reality show – not because I know a lot about Jameson, or her profession, but because the show chronicles her conversion to Judaism.
Jenna Jameson was one of the leading porn stars (I think now they call them “adult film stars,” presumably more politically correct) from 1993-2008, and built a large and profitable empire from her success (is that how you describe it?). Jameson has two children with her ex-husband, former MMA fighter Tito Ortiz. (Ortiz has full custody of their children.) Jameson is engaged to be married to an Israeli diamond dealer, Lior Bitton, and apparently she is converting to Judaism. And according to Bitton, they are making a reality show out of it for Israeli television’s Channel 2. The show is reportedly in the early stages of production, with no executive producers or production companies attached.
I know. There’s a lot going on here. I’ll try to break it down.
The porn industry is very problematic. While there are conflicting reports over whether there’s a higher incidence of women turning to porn as a way to make a living after coming from abuse, Jameson did say in a 2004 interview with Anderson Cooper that “It’s something that I’ve thought about a lot, and I can’t really say for sure if that is reasoning behind why I’ve gotten into the adult industry.”
Also, the treatment of women in particular in the porn industry is incredibly fraught (for a rundown of some of the topics and issues involved, see this article on ABC.net.au), and the images portrayed in porn of women in particular have been accused of everything from desensitizing men to “real” sex, contributing to the denigration and disrespect of women, and contributing to a culture that does not value intimacy.
I believe all of those things to be true, but I also know that especially with the invention of the internet, porn isn’t going anywhere.
Converting
I think it is tremendous when anyone decides to convert to Judaism. My ex did it, and so did his mother after our wedding. Joining a tribe of people who make up such a tiny percentage of the population but have such a large voice and presence and who have a homeland that is under global scrutiny for existing and whose politics are constantly challenged is no small task.

Three weeks after the gruesome discovery of a woman’s burned and bound body near MBTA commuter rail tracks, authorities in Massachusetts have issued an arrest warrant for a Boston man.
Forty-three-year-old Fernando Owens of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood is wanted in connection with the homicide of 29-year-old Ashley Bortner of New Jersey.
This story reminds me of Richard Wright’s novel Native Son:
Bigger Thomas wakes up in a dark, small room at the sound of the alarm clock. He lives in one room with his brother Buddy, his sister Vera, and their mother. Suddenly, a rat appears. The room turns into a maelstrom and after a violent chase, Bigger claims the life of the animal with an iron skillet and terrorizes Vera with the dead rodent. Vera faints and Mrs. Thomas scolds Bigger, who hates his family because they suffer and he cannot do anything about it.
That evening, Bigger has to see Mr. Dalton for a new job. Bigger’s family depends on him. He would like to leave his responsibilities forever but when he thinks of what to do, he only sees a blank wall. He walks to the poolroom and meets his friend, Gus. Bigger tells him that every time he thinks about whites, he feels something terrible will happen to him. They meet other friends, G.H. and Jack, and plan a robbery of the white wealth. They are all afraid of attacking and stealing from a white man, but none of them wants to admit their concerns. Before the robbery, Bigger and Jack go to the movies. They are attracted to the world of wealthy whites in the newsreel and feel strangely moved by the tom-toms and the primitive black people in the film, but they also feel that they are equal to those worlds. After the cinema, Bigger returns to the poolroom and attacks Gus violently, forcing him to lick his blade in a demeaning way to hide his own cowardice. The fight ends any chance of the robbery occurring; Bigger is obscurely conscious that he has done this intentionally.
When he finally gets the job, Bigger does not know how to behave in the large and luxurious house. Mr. Dalton and his blind wife use strange words. They try to be kind to Bigger, but they actually make him very uncomfortable; Bigger does not know what they expect of him. Then their daughter, Mary, enters the room, asks Bigger why he does not belong to a union, and calls her father a “capitalist”. Bigger does not know that word and is even more confused and afraid to lose the job…
That night, he drives Mary around and meets her Communist boyfriend Jan. Throughout the evening, Jan and Mary talk to Bigger, oblige him to take them to the diner where his friends are, invite him to sit at their table, and tell him to call them by their first names. Bigger does not know how to respond to their requests and becomes very frustrated, as he is simply their chauffeur for the night. At the diner, they buy a bottle of rum. Bigger drives throughout Washington Park, and Jan and Mary drink the rum and have sex in the back seat. Jan and Mary part, but Mary is so drunk that Bigger has to carry her to her bedroom when they arrive home. He is terrified someone will see him with her in his arms; however, he cannot resist the temptation of the forbidden, and he kisses her.
Just then, the bedroom door opens, and Mrs. Dalton enters. Bigger knows she is blind but is terrified she will sense him there. He silences Mary by pressing a pillow into her face. Mary claws at Bigger’s hands while Mrs. Dalton is in the room, trying to alert Bigger that she cannot breathe. Mrs. Dalton approaches the bed, smells alcohol in the air, scolds her daughter, and leaves. As Bigger removes the pillow, he realizes that Mary has suffocated. Bigger starts thinking frantically, and decides he will tell everyone that Jan, her Communist boyfriend, took Mary into the house that night. Thinking it will be better if Mary disappears and everyone thinks she has left Chicago, he decides in desperation to burn her body in the house’s furnace. Her body would not originally fit through the furnace opening, but after decapitating her, Bigger finally manages to put the corpse inside. He adds extra coal to the furnace, leaves the corpse to burn, and goes home.

As anyone who binge-watched Netflix’s new superhero-noir series can tell you, it’s remarkably frank about sexuality: There are a half-dozen sex scenes, and they’re as vivid as they are realistic. Jessica Jones’s creators and performers told us that those scenes grew out of the show’s takes on gender, power, and superhero-genre tropes — and that they were much more enjoyable to watch than to film.
Read no further if you don’t want Jessica Jones spoilers.
“People go, ‘Wow, this must be fun.’ Well, they don’t realize you do it all day. It takes, like, half a day to film it,” said Mike Colter, who plays Jessica’s love interest, a fellow superstrong loner named Luke Cage. Most of the show’s sex scenes are between him and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica, and they’re pronouncedly athletic. The first one begins with the two of them in missionary position and ends with Jessica playing power bottom by getting Luke to take her from behind. Even for the eye-poppingly muscular Colter, the scene was physically draining.
“My chest and my arms were burning, there were points in my back — I was like, ‘Another take?’ Literally, I was trembling,” Colter recalled. He took solace in the leadership of episode director S.J. Clarkson, known for her work on Dexter and Heroes. “She’s the sex-scene director to have if you want to do sex scenes, because she knows exactly where to put the hands and what to do with the hands and what to do with the head. She’s just technically sound on it.”
Technical precision was also the preferred approach for David Petrarca, who directed the episode in which we see Luke and Jessica go at it three times. “The problem is, people bring their own kind of shame about sex to the table” when you shoot sex scenes, he said. “If you project that into the environment, you charge the atmosphere. So the best way is to make it as pedestrian as humanly possible.”
That said, one of the moments he directed wasn’t pedestrian by non-superhuman standards: Jessica is on top of Luke, riding him so hard that they shatter the bed’s bottom legs. The bed was a custom-built rig with breakable legs, which were held together with a pin. On command, a trigger would pull the pin and drop the bed. But even while filming that scene of sexual frenzy, the on-set atmosphere was one of artistic distance.
“That’s a technical shot! That’s me trying to get an Edward Hopper–esque image of the lonely woman in the window!” Petrarca recalled. “You work through the mechanics: Sheet’s gonna go here, your arm’s here, maybe he rolls this way to the left.”
Very few Jews have any agenda with regard to interracial sex. They work hard, they look after their families, they hang out with their own kind, they do the best they can in life. A tiny number of elite Jews, however, want to make the West more tolerant, more cosmopolitan, and less racist and they think it is a mitzva to show things like glamorous black-white sex and positive portrayals of trannies and homosexuals.
Portrayals of Jewish-Gentile hookups, however, are sure to raise the hackles of traditional Jewry (for whom inter-marriage is a scandal).
NEW YORK — A painting of a black woman and a Hasidic Jew embracing and kissing on the cover of the New Yorker magazine drew criticism Monday from leaders on both sides of a racially divided community.
The artist, Pulitzer Prize winner Art Spiegelman, and New Yorker editor Tina Brown said the Valentine’s Day cover advocates replacing conflict with love.
Spiegelman, in an accompanying commentary, acknowledged that his image is a dream that is “knowingly naive” and that the problems besetting Jews and blacks in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights section “cannot be kissed away.”
“But once a year, perhaps, it’s permissible, even if just for a moment, to close one’s eyes, see beyond the tragic complexities of modern life, and imagine that it might really be true that ‘All you need is love,’ ” he wrote.
Tensions between the community’s blacks and ultra-Orthodox Jews erupted in August, 1991, with two deaths and days of racially fueled violence. Conflict continues, with alleged bias attacks from both sides.
The cover of the Feb. 15 issue, which appeared on newsstands Monday, may do more harm than good, said the Rev. Herbert Daughtry, a black activist.
“I think that instead of healing anything, there will be anger emanating because of this,” Daughtry said.
Daughtry and Rabbi Joseph Spielman, chairman of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, both called the painting “unfortunate.”
“Rather than healing, this just makes everything ludicrous,” Spielman said, pointing out that Hasidim may not even kiss their wives or show them physical affection in public.
Spiegelman said the negative reactions from both groups made him sad. But he added, by telephone from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., it ultimately may have a positive effect.
“If it unites both communities against me, at least we’ve gotten them united,” he said.
Brown, who took over as editor last year, defended the cover.
“Art Spiegelman’s beautiful image, representing as it does his dreamlike vision of comity and love, speaks for itself,” she said.
Daughtry said he doubted that the magazine would have used a cover showing a black man kissing a Hasidic woman. Spiegelman said he considered such a picture and conceded racial stereotypes affected the final version.
* In recent decades, the leading Jewish organizations have invoked the Holocaust to argue that anti-Semitism is a distinctively virulent and murderous form of hatred. But in the first postwar decades their emphasis — powerfully reinforced by contemporary scholarly opinion — was on the common psychological roots of all forms of prejudice. Their research, educational, and political action programs consistently minimized differences between different targets of discrimination. If prejudice and discrimination were all of a set piece, they reasoned that they could serve the cause of Jewish self-defense as well by attacking prejudice and discrimination against blacks as by tackling anti-Semitism directly.
* …there was never much of a black-Jewish alliance on the communal or organizational level. There were a great many individual Jews who over the years had worked on behalf of blacks, but, with some exceptions, they were leftist and liberal activists who had little connection to the Jewish community. This was certainly true of the Jewish lawyers and student volunteers who worked with the black movement in the South in the 1960s…During the McCarthy era, Jewish organizations repeatedly pointed out that it was a fallacy to infer from the fact that a great many (perhaps even a majority of) Communists were Jews that a great many, let alone a majority of, Jews were Communists. The logic was impeccable with respect to alleged Jewish pro-Communism, and equally impeccable with respect to alleged Jewish civil rights activism.

Sara Mayer, 31, of Borough Park, who hanged herself Sunday, had a nervous breakdown on the eve of her arranged wedding about five years ago — and had already endured years of physical and mental abuse by relatives, according to the source.
“[Her suicide] was a family mental-health and abuse issue on top of being forced into marriage with her first cousin,” the source said, recalling how the union was annulled just months later.
“Ever since [her marriage], she has been in and out of mental hospitals,” the source explained. “She had been coerced by her mother’s side of the family’’ to marry her cousin. “She married the son of the mother’s sister.”
Some members of the Brooklyn family apparently didn’t find out about Sara’s torment until just recently.

Growing up, some relatives “kept calling her retarded, ugly, etc. We didn’t know this until later,” the source said.
The source added that Sara and her younger sister Faigy — who jumped to her death from a Manhattan rooftop bar in July — had been seeking advice from a family member for their depression, even though the relative wasn’t a licensed therapist.
“In Williamsburg, it was so bad that the rabbis got together and they put a poster up warning the community about her and the lack of her credentials,” the source said. “But despite the rabbis’ warning, people are still seeing her for family therapy.”
“To have lost two girls in less than a year shows that something is up with this family. It’s very sad.”

Anatoly Karlin writes: On the global scale, the Protestant world comprise nine of the world’s top 10 most financially literate countries, and an amazing 17 of the world’s top 25 – which is also a convenient threshold representing 50%+ financial literacy. (By which point the stock of both developed world Protestant countries pretty much ends). The world’s offshore bank, Switzerland, is a relatively disappointing 15th.
9 of the top 10 countries are within the Hajnal line of Europe, or are their descendants; and 17 of the top 25.
Predictably, the non-Protestant exception in the top 10 is Israel. The Jews can sure count their shekels.
The Catholics and Orthodox Christians tended to do a lot worse, even though as we know IQ differences between them and the Protestant world are fairly minor. Likewise with the Confucian civilization.
This suggests that Protestant populations have tended to culturally evolve (or gene-culturally evolve) an “intuitive” understanding of finance like things, while the rest of the world pretty much has to figure it out from zero. More intelligent populations with financial experience, such as the Japanese, tend to be relatively better at it (43% financially literate); less intelligent populations without much financial experience, such as the Indians and Iranians, do much worse at it (<25% financially literate).
