USA Today: The FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office used an Orthodox Jewish radio program in an elaborate sting operation that helped the government convict Malcolm Smith and other New York politicians in a corruption scandal, a four-month investigation by The Journal News/lohud revealed.
It is unclear whether there are other targets, including New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who appeared on the show as a state senator prior to the 2010 election with Moses Stern, later revealed to be an FBI cooperator. Stern appeared twice on the show prior to election day using aliases, posing as both a political analyst and a resident from Brooklyn. He urged listeners to vote for Schneiderman.
Prosecutors disclosed little about the New York Jewish Communications Channel to defense lawyers for two people convicted in the sting operation. The show was hosted by longtime Orthodox radio personality Zev Brenner, who owns Talkline Communications Network, and registered with the state by Joseph Markowitz, whose name was linked to thousands in campaign donations to Schneiderman, who has not been accused of wrongdoing, and an illegal donation to congressional candidate Dan Halloran. After the Smith arrests, Schneiderman pledged to donate the contributions from Markowitz and Markowitz’s wife to charity.
“In light of reports that Mr. and Mrs. Markowitz are involved in an ongoing law enforcement investigation, out of an abundance of caution, the campaign will donate the full amount of their contributions to charities helping New Yorkers recovering from Hurricane Sandy,” according to a statement by Schneiderman’s office after the FBI arrested six people in the sting…
The day before the 2010 election, Stern appeared on “Talkline” with Zev Brenner, president and founder of Talkline Communications, as Brenner announced a “very special pre-election broadcast” that’s “sponsored and brought to you by the New York Jewish Communications Channel.”
The NYJCC, Brenner said, represented a “bloc vote of over 100,000 Jewish voters” and worked with Jewish groups to help elected officials communicate with the Jewish community. Its goal through its radio program, NYJCC.com website and pamphlets: Register 50,000 new voters.
“We’ll hear from Eric Schneiderman, the Democratic candidate for attorney general,” said Brenner. “We’ll also hear from Avi Schick (a Schneiderman supporter and former deputy attorney general under Eliot Spitzer), Yossi Schreiber, political analyst, and others during this very special broadcast coming to you over WSNR 620 AM,” he said.
Schreiber is actually Stern.
Schneiderman, then a state senator running for the top state law enforcement position in New York, pledged on the show, if elected, to create a religious rights unit to help Orthodox Jews and others facing religious discrimination in the workplace.
Schreiber was introduced by Brenner as a “political analyst, conservative” less than 15 minutes later, urging people to gather neighbors and family members and “come out in a huge turnout” to vote for Schneiderman…
“Please, I beg you as a Jew to another Jew, talking from my heart, look at the issues for yourself and you decide for yourself, don’t listen to me, just go out there, check it out, NYJCC…,” he said, speaking for more than 20 minutes. “Just for full disclosure, I’m not getting paid by…Eric Schneiderman’s campaign, I’m not together with the Schneiderman campaign, I just look at the actual issues,” he said.
The Journal News has found that Stern called the show a day earlier under another alias, pretending to be a Brooklyn resident, asking Schneiderman about his stance on cracking down on gun violence and other issues.
It’s unclear whether Schneiderman knew Stern would go on the show under two different aliases. Stern would testify that he was involved in Schneiderman’s campaign, running a shadow campaign, helping him gain support in the Orthodox community.
The Markowitz Connection
The Journal News found that the NYJCC was registered with the state as a corporation in December 2010 after the show was already operating, by Markowitz. In addition to donating to Schneiderman, Markowitz also donated to Smith, Halloran and Sherri Eisenpress, who was elected a Rockland County Family Court judge in 2011.

Anyway, in 2012 an adviser to Roger Ailes told me that Megyn Kelly and Brit Hume were having an affair. In 2014 a crisis PR official based in New York & hired by News Corp told me the same thing. The adviser said that Ailes told Kelly that she had to cancel the affair with Hume and that if she did she’d be the new face of Fox and step in for O’Reilly. I dismissed these rumors at the time but the Daily Kos wrote about the rumors surrounding Kelly and Hume in 2007 and later Kelly did step in for O’Reilly and has risen through the ranks–just as my source predicted. Kelly, in an interview with Howard Stern (yes, really), said she nearly didn’t get the job but that Ailes stepped in on her behalf.
She also discussed her breasts and penises because of course she did. Women have to be sexualized in our age and everyone is on it. She even posed for GQ in 2010 in photos that, while clothed, don’t leave a lot to the imagination. They may or may not be safe for work depending what your work is.
If any of this is actually true–Megyn Kelly never quite denied it– only that it was a big joke around the office! hahaha! Isn’t adultery funny?!– I don’t really know but it is what I have been told by people whose job it is to be in the know and I have no reason to doubt it, especially now that Hume is divorced and Kelly was a divorcee.
Megyn Kelly rose very quickly at Fox News. She wasn’t like Candy Crowley at CNN who worked he way up despite her looks.
Kelly got where she is because of her looks and anyone who doubts that is a liar. To be fair to her she is perky and interesting but the looks played a huge part in it. I’m not even against that but it’s worth recalling when Kelly tried to lecture Trump about how he treats women.

New video evidence confirms that Michelle Fields was, in fact, told to back up by Secret Service during that infamous Trump rally in Jupiter, Florida.
GotNews.com has two different police sources that have told us that Michelle Fields’s boyfriend Jamie Weinstein and his family have been pushing Palm Beach County authorities to prosecute Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
Sources within Fox News and in the conservative commentariat that Weinstein is pushing them to cover the story in a way favorable to his girlfriend despite little evidence to substantiate her claims.
Weinstein’s family are large Republican Establishment donors in Palm Beach and have subsidized Weinstein’s journalistic career (such as it is). Weinstein himself is very pro-Marco Rubio. (We’ll get into that in a moment.)
We are also told that the Clinton-supporting prosecuting attorney is loathe to bring actual prosecution given the new evidence unearthed from journalists like yours truly, Michael Cernovich, Mister Metokur, and a host of other researchers and bloggers.
Additionally we’ve heard from sources within Fox News and in the conservative commentariat that Weinstein is pushing them to cover the story in a way favorable to his girlfriend despite little evidence to substantiate her claims.
Sean Hannity eluded to Weinstein’s efforts the other day on his radio program. (We’ve asked both Tucker Carlson and Jamie Weinstein for comment)
class="twitter-tweet" data-width="500">
Hannity revealed on his radio show that @Jamie_Weinstein & his Duke-Lacrosse-Whore-Style gf @MichelleFields are livid he won't lie for them
The facts have also supported my initial claim that Fields was wearing high heels when the incident supposedly took place.
And new cell phone video evidence shows that Michelle Fields was told by Secret Service to back up as David Martosko of the Daily Mail reported. Watch the first part of this video to see for yourself.
Martosko, for his part, went on the Blaze Thursday with serial fraud and tax cheat Dana Loesch to discuss his sourcing for his claim.
Martosko makes a great point in the Loesch interview that Fields wasn’t wearing a press credential and that while he had been to maybe 100 Donald Trump rallies and events he had only seen Fields at three events.
Martosko also suspects that Fields wasn’t wearing her press credentials and may not have had them. (The campaign only gave out press passes and trusted journalists who were covering the events to have their own lanyards.)
We’ve put up that video here and left some of the ad that was put up because you know, we could really use a lawnmower.
Note how Fields isn’t wearing a press credential while Weinstein is. Hmmm…
Where is Fields’s press credential?
Jamie Weinstein has long supported Marco Rubio for president and repeatedly pushed for him on the Daily Caller and in his tweets. His efforts to derail Trump on the eve of the Florida primary should be seen in this context.
Like his pro-Rubio, anti-Trump segment on CNN on February 26.
We could go through this with a fine tooth comb of Weinstein’s Twitter feed but my personal favorite? This one.
class="twitter-tweet" data-width="500">
Two things Dick Morris told me in greenroom today: Rubio done and Sanders can win Dem nom. So it looks like it will be Rubio vs Clinton.
Weinstein and his family and his late father have long used their money to further Weinstein’s journalistic career, going so far as to pay for a booker for Weinstein personally. More than once he stepped in for a segment where I was invited to speak on television. (Frankly I thought he did me a favor. I hate television.)
Looks like the Weinsteins are getting their money’s worth.
The best publicity money can buy?
GotNews.com doesn’t begrudge a man his father’s money but it is relevant because it’s opened a lot of doors for Weinstein professionally and by extension, Fields, as Weinstein dotes on his dear darling girlfriend.
Weinstein has also had dinners with our presumed betters in our imperial capital. The dinners, dubbed the Churchill dinner, have featured luminaries like the soon-to-be neocon king Senator Tom Cotton. This is an influence play, pure and simple.
The thirty-something Weinstein is no great talent but he fancies himself a wit and vanity published an e-book with Will Rahn, the son of Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan.
Weinstein brags in his father’s eulogy about how well the Weinsteins knew Dick Cheney and that his father could have purchased another Ferrari but chose to take his children and grandchildren around the world instead.
class="twitter-tweet" data-width="500">
I lost my father 8 months ago, but I remember him everyday, Father's Day or not. Here is my eulogy to him: https://t.co/lOxvI5j3n1
I’m sure that the Weinsteins never, ever hired an illegal immigrant at their numerous businesses.
There is a clue in an obituary as to the family fortune.
Weinstein, who was the son of Russian immigrants, graduated from Syracuse University in 1956 and before joining his family’s garment business and overseeing its growth to 11 factories on the East Coast. He also had significant commercial and residential real estate holdings.
Theme parks and real estate holdings and garment businesses that only hire American citizens, of course.
Colleagues of Weinstein describe his almost Pavlovian support for illegal immigrants and amnesty during their time at the Daily Caller. They suspected his support came from his family ties and wealth.
Weinstein with his father.
He also wears really expensive shoes at Breitbart’s CPAC party. No judgment but I wonder if they come in my size? Perhaps a touch too flamboyant, though.
GotNews.com sources in the police community have historically been among the best in the media. We were the first to report that the shooting in San Bernardino and to report a whole slew of things about violence in the #BlackLivesMatter movement. If you’re a police officer with an interesting tip, please email me at [email protected]
I’ve reached out to Tucker Carlson and Jamie Weinstein and will update this should I get a comment from either man.
I’m not sure why Tucker has allowed Weinstein to misbehave in this way. Could it be because of the Weinsteins closeness to the Cheneys — Tucker business partner Neil Patel was a Cheney aide? Or could it be because Weinstein has personally shelled out to pay for his travel and his access, access that benefits the Caller on television?
I do know that Carlson was once cross with me when I called attention to Weinstein’s father wealth when Weinstein was spreading some nonsense about me on the Twitters. Weinstein and I struck a gentleman’s agreement but he has violated the terms of it as of late.
Tucker is a good man and he has a fine nose for hoaxes so why hasn’t he weighed in here?

Behavior at the recent Ohio Trump rally is merely a taste of what progressives are becoming. News: A group of former contractors who performed construction work at the Jewish General Hospital were charged on Tuesday with 78 counts of tax fraud and are accused of engaging in false billing and obtaining illegal tax refunds from the government.
The province’s anti-corruption squad, UPAC, announced that contractors Gilbert Leizerovici and Raphael Elkaim would face the bulk of the charges.
In December, UPAC charged Leizerovici and his companies with 65 counts of violating Quebec’s Tax Administration Act and Excise Tax Act. Tuesday’s charges are on top of those made in December and include other contractors and companies, UPAC spokesperson Anne-Frédérick Laurence said.
The contractors and their companies could face fines totalling more than $9 million. The accused also risk prison sentences.

REPORT: A private Jewish Michigan college committed fraud over the past decade, leading to millions of federal dollars being sent to the West Bloomfield school to pay for the education of students who weren’t enrolled there, according to the federal Department of Education.
The school remains open. It’s unclear whether criminal charges will be pursued.
Pell Grants are awarded to low-income students to help cover the costs of attending college. They do not need to be paid back. For 2015-16, the maximum Pell Grant is $5,775.
In a 17-page letter to the Michigan Jewish Institute, the department outlines more than 2,000 cases where Pell Grant funds were sent to the school to pay for students who were in Israel studying and never took one class at MJI. A total dollar amount of fraudulent Pell Grants to the school is not known.
The institute is tied to the local chapter of the Chabad-Lubavitch, an Orthodox Jewish group with a growing campus in West Bloomfield. Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov is president of the institute and spiritual director of the Shul. The Shul is part of the Campus of Living Judaism. The school was founded in 1994.
“The evidence the department has reviewed shows that many, if not most, of MJI students had no interest in obtaining, or intention of receiving, a degree or certificate offered by MJI,” says a Feb. 29 letter to the school from the department. It was obtained by the Free Press.
“Rather,” the letter continues, “they were ‘enrolled’ in MJI, and by MJI, for the sole purpose of getting MJI Pell Grants while these students ‘studied abroad.’ Such abuse of the Pell Grant program is unacceptable.”

The Jewish Week: The FBI raided charedi Orthodox yeshivas and technology vendors that serve them in Brooklyn and in New York’s Rockland County, but declined to state publicly the details of the investigations.
In a large operation Wednesday afternoon, dozens of FBI agents, search warrants in hand, entered multiple yeshivas and vendors’ offices in Rockland County, demanding they account for technology purchases for which they billed the federal government, according to The Journal News. Agents were seen walking out with boxes of documents and computer hard drives.
The FBI confirmed to JTA that it also searched a handful of yeshivas in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon. Those included two locations of Bais Ruchel d’Satmar, a girls school affiliated with the Satmar chasidic sect and possibly one location that was not a school.
The raids in Rockland are believed to be part of a larger investigation of fraud in the federal government’s E-rate program, which funds the purchase of technology equipment and Internet service by schools and libraries. A 2013 investigative report in the New York Jewish Week (co-written by this reporter) found that charedi Orthodox yeshivas, particularly chasidic ones, in Rockland County and Brooklyn disproportionately benefit from the program even though few offer their students or teachers Internet access.
A spokeswoman at the FBI’s New York office told JTA that the Brooklyn action were “searches” and “not raids,” and that they were part of an “ongoing investigation.” She would not confirm whether the investigation was related to the E-rate program, and said the Rockland and Brooklyn searches were not related, but were two separate investigations.
Bais Ruchel d’Satmar featured prominently in The Jewish Week’s 2013 articles, which noted that the school had been cited for noncompliance, yet continued to be approved for millions of dollars of services through E-rate. In 2011, it was approved for more E-rate funds than any other Jewish school in New York State, and in 2013 it applied for, but never received, $1.2 million for “internal connections” and “internal connections maintenance” provided by a nearby company called Computer Corner.

Despite suffering losses in local elections on the 13th of March, the results have been seen as a warning for Angela Merkel and her CDU party who have vowed to "stay the course" on allowing unlimited numbers of migrants into Germany. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a5a53a78-e9f9-11e5-888e-2eadd5fbc4a4.html
German law requires that the next election should take place on a Sunday between 46-48 months after the assembly's first sitting. Since the current Bundestag first sat on 22 October 2013, the latest date for the next election is 22 October 2017 (a Sunday). The earliest date is 27 August 2017, the first Sunday after 22 August.
