Anatomy Of The LA Riots

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* How does O.J’s fugitive run relate to Bruce/Caitlyn?

Reading your insight about racially charged female intra-sexual competion on the jury, I wonder if there is also a connection to how most of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters and brother seem to exclusively date black people. As does Kris Jenner since her divorce. I know inter-racial dating is quite normalized in the LA circles they run in, but it seems less like they’re dating assorted races, and more like black people only.

All of them, even the younger Jenner sisters to an extent, must have grown up with the spectre of the murders and aftermath hanging over their heads, and all the racial-sexual tensions that lay just beneath the surface of the trial. (Does that make sense? I write even worse than Willa Paskin.)

On the bitchy, uncensored type of gossip forums, there is a running theme that Pimp Mama Kris instilled it in her girls to always pursue black men, because they are dumb and easily manipulated. But I think that’s just gossipy fluff, and that something deeper drives it.

* Robert Kardashian (Kim’s father) was OJ’s longtime lawyer and the first person to whom the Juice turned when he realized he was in trouble. The whole family’s fame stems from that.

I am from California, and was on the East Coast when the murders happened. By coincidence, I was getting ready to drive back west for grad school (in LA) right at that time. I left on Saturday, June, 18th, 1994. The night before, several friends took me out (in DC) for a goodbye party. That was the day of the Bronco chase. We all watched it live from a Georgetown bar.

I made it to LA. It’s hard to describe the extent to which OJ news dominated the local media market for the next 16 months. It was absolutely public topic #1 and there was no #2.

BTW, Steve, right after the verdict the Weekly Standard published a piece by Gertrude Himmelfarb (Bill Kristol’s mom) called something like “race trumps gender.” That switched on a light for me.

* I never thought Ron Goldman was gay. I figured he and Nicole were having a relationship and he got mixed up in it. I suppose his lifestyle could make him as gay, but it seems just as likely that he was Hollywood/LA metrosexual trying to break into the entertainment industry. Reading his bio the poor guy comes off as a bit of an aimless flake.

Other crimethought that I picked up from Jeff Toobin’s book:

College athletics are an academic sham. OJ was at most semi literate.

Women will put up with thuggish men.

News reporters can be too credulous/puritan. Toobin was shocked that Nicole Brown and her sister Denise had breast implants but not college degrees. Why would she want to go to college? She had a famous husband and money.

* Ron Goldman struck me as another young person who moves to California, hoping to translate looks into acting. When they find out how competitive it is the end up working in the service industry while trying to find bit parts or do commercials. And a whole lot of them aren’t particularly bright or 4-year college material.

When OJ met Nicole she fit this description to a “T” – she was a waitress herself at a trendy nightclub.

These types of folks are a continuous feed for the California porn industry, or for reality TV shows like “Fear Factor” which never had any fat or average looking participants because they could tap into an endless supply of attractive 25 year-olds willing to eat bugs to get on TV.

* You should read Faye Resnick’s book. In it she states that she and Nicole were pals as far as going out to party, looking for guys etc. She states that her and Goldman were not dating, because Nicole hadn’t known him very long when they both died (at most a few weeks) but that Nicole’s pattern post-divorce from OJ, was to date just about anyone who came along. So while she makes it clear that they both weren’t in a relationship, she believed it was only a matter of time before she and Goldman would’ve been lovers.

“Women will put up with thuggish men”.

Up to a point. Evidently even Nicole had a breaking point and didn’t want to get bashed up for the thousandth and first time which is why she finally left.

Funny thing, is that had she lived, Nicole Brown had a good chance of landing her own reality show a la “The wives of OC”; or C-list celebrities type of thing, perhaps even appearing on shows with other jilted wives/women living their own lives.

“Why would she want to go to college? She had a famous husband and money.”

Finish the sentence. Because she got a divorce and what was she going to do the rest of her life? What was she up to the last yr of her life, aside from partying with Faye Resnik, and looking for boyfriends? Once she was divorced, she wasn’t guaranteed the several million dollar lifestyle that being “Mrs. OJ” afforded her. One biography of her basically describes her as an aimless affable ditz, to be honest, where she once stated in her early twenties “I hope to have some goals and a plan for my life one day.” Shame it never fully occurred to her that she’d have to grow up and figure that out. After all, once her looks would start to fade she would’ve been dumped by OJ anyway and then no more fancy lifestyle.

But since she was the one that made the break and left him, it was a total blow to his ego and pride.

Its almost like, had she lived, she would’ve faded into reality show or infomercial obscurity.

Speaking of aimless flakes, whatever became of Kato Kaelin? Now there was a real character to say the least.

* I have yet to meet a black lesbian who didn’t despise O. J. Simpson. Maybe Marcia Clark could have packed the jury with angry, man-hating black lesbians and got a totally different verdict.

* When OJ met Nicole around 1976, he had just turned thirty and she was about 18 just out of high school. Basically before she had to make any difficult decisions about her life like having a plan, goals, what to do with life, etc etc. he made that decision for her by showering her with loads of attention. Had a young Joe Montana done the same thing she would’ve jumped at the chance to be with him as well. In other words she didn’t have the full maturity to make a decision about what to do long term with her life, and then OJ came along and made her decision all that much easier: Be a trophy GF, then wife of a famous athlete/entertainer. In SoCal, then as now, perhaps few women wouldn’t turn that offer down. Its not like Nicole had her designs on a young Bill Gates/Mark Zuckerberg/Steve Jobs type of that era. Hooking up with a famous athlete, for a lot of women, apparently is a pretty good gig.

Kinda like winning the lottery of life.

* I never understood how shocked people are by this kind of shit.

Goldman was running around with another man’s wife…

He was asking for it…..any time you screw another man’s wife you run this risk….in some countries its considered duty to kill a cheating wife.

White American women are spoiled beyond belief.

* Uh, you do know that Nicole had been divorced from OJ for over a year when she died. You do know that, correct?

No, guess apparently you don’t.

* In the immortal words of Jonathan Stuart Lebowitz, “There are 2 kinds of people; those who know OJ did it, and idiots.”

* I knew the country had gone mad in March ’91, when the L.A. Times ran a front page article about MECHA claiming it was “racism” that the Dodgers were releasing Fernando Valenzuela, with his 18.50 spring E.R.A.

* I was one the only person in my circle who predicted OJ’s acquittal. I asserted quite seriously that if video surfaced of OJ committing the murder the jurors would quite eagerly accept the defense’s naked assertion that the video was part of a racist frame-up. OJ would be acquitted under any circumstances. All of this was crystal clear to me on the day that it was announced the trial would be moved downtown and what that meant in terms of the jury pool. The only thing astonishing about the verdict was white America’s astonishment. I could hardly fathom the extraordinary naïveté and ignorance of the racial hostility of black Americans to white Americans. It was payback time. Picking black men for the jury or excluding evidence of OJs abusive behavior would have been irrelevant to the primary issue to the black jurors; tipping the scales of racial justice.

* Apparently the Brits are all in a tizzy over PM Cameron’s far-right racist-fascist-Nazi KKK hate speech, in which he used the phrase (get near your fainting couch) “bunch of migrants.”

* I attended a 70% black elementary school and grew up in a largely black neighborhood. My “worldview” on these matters has remained essentially unchanged since then. Despite being very young and inexperienced during the OJ trial, I never doubted for a moment that he would walk when I saw the jury pool demographics. I couldn’t believe the fact that the “mature” white adults around me thought otherwise.

But I don’t really hold it against blacks. I just accept them for who they are, and wonder what’s wrong with the people who insist that they are not.

* Was O.J. Simpson simply the first black NFL thug? While the league pretends to deplore incidents of players battering or even killing their wives and girlfriends it realizes such behavior is not unusual amongst the hoodrat class it recruits from.

Maybe the league was able to keep these kind of incidents quiet a generation or two ago or owners were still able to enforce minimum standards of conduct. Growing up I recall players getting arrested for disorderly conduct or DUI on occasion but incidents of rape, murder and domestic battery escaped my notice as did players being arrested for brawling at strip clubs.

If the NCAA winked at academic standards for football players, schools and coaches could be very strict as far as personal conduct rules were concerned. Getting kicked off your team in college did not make you particularly sought after in the NFL draft.

* I’ve never trusted black women. They all are partially deaf as that can be the only explanation why they yell at each other while standing only a foot or so from each other.

* I have long believed that the Simpson murder trial, beginning with the nationally televised white bronco chase, marked the decisive moment when the news media came into their own as the shapers of public thought and the priest-purveyors of infotainment-propaganda, and therefore at the same time a substantial change was wrought at the most fundamental level of our culture.

Up until that point we were still a nation of civilized adults. Despite whatever social problems may have existed, the heart and soul of the historic American nation was still salvageable. After OJ, it was just a matter of time until it all fell apart.

I was only 13 at the time, but I remember feeling that something I had known and believed in was fading away. The three big events of that year—the OJ Simpson trial, the death of Nixon, and the Oklahoma city bombing—will forever mark for me the transition from feeling like I belonged to something to feeling like an outsider in my own country.

* The Kardashian thing for black guys is more like a TV fantasy, like the various male equivalents on TV like being a crab fisherman in the Bering Sea or whatever.

* As Bill Maher pointed out to Kim K., “your father started a proud Kardashian tradition: getting black men off.”

* Toobin was shocked that Nicole Brown and her sister Denise had breast implants but not college degrees.

That speaks well of the sisters: they understood that a woman’s chance for fulfillment in life are greatly enhanced by a spectacular chest, not so much by a college degree.

* The Rodney King trial must have had a lot to do with Simpson’s acquittal, and the anger at the verdict in the King case was largely due to media manipulation of the evidence, i.e. the way the edited tape of the beating was shown again and again for a year on TV before the trial. As soon as the news came that the trial venue was to be moved to Santa Monica, blacks must have been savouring the prospect of revenge, as the King trial had also been moved to a location more favourable to the defendants. I don’t think I’d like to be a Santa Monica juror who got OJ a death sentence.

*

Fill it with more whites than blacks. Basically jury deliberations in a racialized trial like this are just waiting games until the holdouts cave, and blacks tend to be less willing to spend days sitting in a room in defense of moral principle than whites are.

Until the blacks play the Race Card, then all the squishy California whites fold like cheap suits.

After the event one or two explained to me that Simpson might actually have killed the two victims, but the prosecution had failed to prove its case “beyond reasonable doubt”.

There’s a requisite threshold of intellect for a jury system to function properly. Or, garbage in, garbage out. The black reaction to the verdict showed that it was not a fluke, but a function of blacks’ qualities.

Of course in the civil trial that followed, the standard of proof was lower and a jury found that Simpson WAS responsible. It has always seemed to me that the subsequent sentencing of Simpson to 33 years in prison for what sounded like a relatively minor act of criminality in recuperating some of his memorabilia which was of disputed ownership and no one was injured was really an act of retaliation by the judiciary.

Sort of like how the Academy supposedly gave Denzel an Award for a role that didn’t deserve it, as payment for one that did, but wasn’t recognized at the time.

As I recall there were no riots or mass protestations of innocence at the time of the verdict by an all-white jury or at his sentencing.

Well, attention spans…

Katrina introduced mine, then Duke Lacrosse and the Knoxville Horror showed how the media and society at large were complicit. I’m probably a little more junior than most of you, though.

Mine was 9/11.

Not the way it went, but that it went *exactly* 5-4 along party lines. That’s when I knew everyone was just out for themselves and the world was corrupt.

? Currently only Republicans are going after Hillary for Benghazi and Emailgate; the question isn’t why they’re going after her, but why the Democrats aren’t.

“We’ll talk about OJ when you talk about Emmit Till”.

IQ is linked to morality; how stupid do you have to be to not notice that “we” talk about Emmit Till constantly, and had for decades before the OJ murders?

So Shapiro was upset by the death of the Jew but not the beheading of the shiksa?

According to Torah both were committing deep sin.

Somehow I doubt religion had much to do with it. More like race.

Ar my place of work at an investment bank there was quite an opposite reaction.

The whites all cheered and the blacks looked on dumbfounded?

Once she was divorced, she wasn’t guaranteed the several million dollar lifestyle that being “Mrs. OJ” afforded her.

Yojimbo, meet California divorce law. California divorce law, this is Yojimbo.

Women ***want*** thuggish men. Fixed it for you.

I guess Brown left OJ because he stopped beating her. And obviously OJ being rich had nothing to do with anything.

White American women are spoiled beyond belief

Yeah, where’d she get the idea she could divorce a man who beat her on a regular basis? And then sleep with someone else? The nerve. Allahu Akbar.

The only thing astonishing about the verdict was white America’s astonishment.

It wasn’t astonishing at all. Without direct experience, or information exchange, people project as a matter of course. Fish assume everything breathes water, and people assume other people share their moral universe. Most whites either have little or no experience with blacks, or rationalize their experience avoiding blacks with “good neighborhoods” and such. And whites have been on lockdown for a long time vis-a-vis speaking the truth about blacks, so word of mouth (fuggedabout other media of exchange) doesn’t help. In short, many whites were actually learning something about blacks at the time.

The prosecution deserved to lose after it had Simpson try to put on the glove.

They were too stupid to hire an expert to show them how to pull on a tight-fitting glove easily, then take it off, then become “unable” to pull it on again, because of some silly “trick” he’s doing with his hand. ‘Course the blacks on the jury all wanted to be able to pretend they’d been fooled.

I attended a 70% black elementary school and grew up in a largely black neighborhood.

The fact that you have had far more experience with blacks than most whites hasn’t occurred to you as decisive?

* In high school, we had a black female from FACTER (Flint Area Council to End Racism) come in and speak to us.

I forget the context but, at one point, one of Obama’s sons told her that, after he watched the film Amistad, he wanted to punch the first white person he saw.

What was this “anti-racist” female’s response?

Was it: “that would have been racist”

or

“you shouldn’t blame people for what other people who kind of looked like them did centuries ago”?

Of course not.

She said, literally just like you said “don’t do that; we don’t need another brother in jail.”

That was my first real indication that justice, to blacks, is spelled Just Us.

* I watched a good deal of the OJ trial and recall that many White SJW commentators predicted a conviction because the trial was a test of the Black jury’s and Black community’s capacity for justice and social responsibility … and they would come through. Of course, they failed miserably.

As I recall, the seniment of many Blacks interviewed after the trial was that, even if OJ was guilty, no more Black men prosecuted by a White power structure should go to prison, period! Besides, we can assume, he killed White people … and White people who suffer violence at the hands of Black people deserve it because ALL WHITES share COLLECTIVE GUILT for the plight of Black people in White America. Back then, this had the same import and appeal as the case today of reparations for Blacks to make amends for “White privilege” decades before that term became current.

The case for collective suffering to make amends for collective guilt actually has a broader appeal than you might think. For example, Angela Merkel appears to accept that ALL GERMANS share COLLECTIVE GUILT for what the Nazis did to the Jews so that their current suffering in the face of foreign invasion is justified. Come on! At some point the collective guilt can reach such proportions that the perpetrators should commit suicide to balance the scales of justice. Faced with that, what’s wrong with a few murders and sexual assaults in the balance of things? Perhaps this is jumping the gun a bit … but, the the end of the day, justice is done … both in the OJ case and in the ongoing Islamic invasion of Germany.
