Jews & The 2003 Iraq War

American Jews had a more skeptical view than regular Americans about the wisdom of invading Iraq in 2003, and yet the major Jewish organizations were pushing the war, just another example of how Jewish elites are out of touch with the sentiments of regular Jews.

Torah Jews aka Orthodox Jews are obsessed with study and observance of Torah and the safety of their children and of their communities. They don’t spend much time lobbying gentile countries, not on going to war with Iraq, and not on other matters as well.

The more Jews study Torah, the less likely they are to concern themselves with gentile politics.

There is nothing inherent in Jewish genes and in Jewish texts to predispose Jews towards any particular politics in gentile lands (so long as Jews are free to study and live out their tradition).

The more Jews study Torah, the less likely they are to enlist in the armed forces and the less likely they are to become professional lobbyists and media tycoons.
