LAT: Woman punched by CHP officer arrested again on same freeway

I get tired of this black dysfunction. I get tired of cops getting blamed for dealing with this ugly reality the best they can.

LATIMES.com: A woman captured on video last year being punched repeatedly by a California Highway Patrol officer on the 10 Freeway was arrested Tuesday and taken in for a mental health evaluation after she wandered into traffic on the same stretch of roadway, CHP officials said.

Marlene Pinnock, who received a $1.5-million settlement after the controversial incident in 2014, was taken into custody about 2:25 a.m. after two officers found her wandering on the right shoulder of the eastbound 10 Freeway near La Brea Avenue, Sgt. Joe Nunez said.

Pinnock has long struggled with mental illness.

When CHP officers tried to detain her, Pinnock “pulled away and ran into traffic lanes,” according to an incident report provided to The Times. Officers removed Pinnock from the freeway.

Comments on LATIMES.com:

* The ghetto lottery only works to a point. The lady is still crazy, her attorney and loving family got her money and the cops are still risking their lives trying to get her out of traffic. Justice in America.

* A homeless crazy person once stepped into traffic in front of me on the Freeway. She changed her mind and stepped back. If she had not I would of killed her in my car and maybe injured me inside the car. The CHP Officer did what he had to do and he has been vindicated.

* So where was the “outraged” family that demanded justice…. I will tell you where they are.. spendin the money… they used this poor women.. took her settlement and turned her out on the street… they are hoping she get hit so they could be outraged again.

* The CHP officer might have whaled on her a bit much, but save her life. No good deed goes unpunished.

* COMPLY with officers & you all would NOT be hurt! Plain & simple! Get it through your fried brains (because of the various illicit/
illegal drugs you tried!!!), damn it!

* Where was her “loving caring” family? They were stuck on her like glue when the TV cameras were on…taxpayer money well spent!
