CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Half a dozen young women are wanted in connection with a brutal attack against a 16-year-old girl that left the victim with a broken ankle, police said Wednesday.

It happened about 8 p.m. Jan. 23 on the S train platform at the Botanic Gardens subway station in Brooklyn, police said.

The teen and a friend were walking behind the group of alleged attackers who initiated a verbal fight, investigators said. The argument escalated and transformed into a physical melee, with the group kicking and punching the victim who fell to the ground and broke her ankle.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries.

Police are still looking for the group that hurt her and released photos of the suspected culprits with a call for help. Anyone with information in the case is urged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
