LAT: ‘Skills gap’ threatening to impede economic growth in California

LAT: “Other major skills deficits include English language competency, reading comprehension and math, as well as more nebulous qualities such as critical thinking aptitude, professionalism and leadership.”

In other words, employers need people with higher IQs. Since California has become majority Latino, its average IQ has declined and with it the requisite job skills. The average white American has an IQ of 100, Oriental-American has 105, Ashkenazi Jewish Americans average 112, Latino Americans average 90 and African-Americans average 85.

Most Latino and Black students in Los Angeles fail to graduate high school. They are therefore unlikely to develop job skills. Why are they failing? Because, on average, the lack the cognitive ability to do the things that Whites and Orientals take for granted, such as read and write.

According to the 2003 National Assessment of Adult Literacy, 44% of Hispanics in America had below basic literacy aka were illiterate, compared to 24% of blacks and 7% of whites.
