Split-pea soup is my favorite soup but for the past 15 years, I haven’t been cooking it right and it consistently disappoints me.
I haven’t had a stove in this time so I’ve been under-cooking everything on a hot plate (not wanting stuff to boil over on to the carpet).
This has been a keen pain because I used to know how to cook split-pea soup.
Tonight I decided to cook the split-peas longer, hotter and with more water.
It turned out great!
That’s my motto for life now — longer, hotter and more water!
