Sage Sucking On Lollipop

I was at a Torah lecture the other day and I saw a sage sucking on a lollipop (it’s the best way to enjoy sugar without putting on weight) and it disturbed me. It didn’t seem right. Until that moment, I did not realize that I’d feel jarred by such a sight, but I did.

It just does not befit the honor of the Torah.

I’m not sure I want my Torah sages chewing gum either.

Maybe I’m too sensitive.
