Stunning Enrollment Drop At Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy?

A source writes: "Large enrollment drop again for the fall year 2007-2008 from about 600 students to about 450. This is going to enlarge the deficit an additional $1.5 to 2.0. million dollars. School board president Morey Levovitz’s agenda at board meetings is to push board members to fundraise. When Levovitz took over the presidency of Hillel, enrollment was about 712 students and a budget of about $5.6 million with a deficit of about $500 – $600 thousand dollars. Now the budget is $7.8 million for 450 students." I’ve heard that Hillel is¬†having an easier time recruiting¬†and getting more selective of its students over the last few years, and is having no problems filling its classes, so I have no idea where 150 students could possibly be going.
