Connecting To God

I was just looking at a new book: "Jewish meditation practices for everyday life: awakening your heart, connecting with God"

What if these practices actually worked and you did connect to God? I can’t imagine it would be too pleasant. Sounds bloody terrifying to me. I think I’d prefer to stay disconnected, thank you very much.

If I ever attain the qualities I pray for — fear of God, love of God, humility, love of Torah, etc — I’d have to change my life.

Doesn’t sound too comfortable.

No, thank you. I’m really very happy as I am. Don’t want to change. Moderation in all things. That’s my motto.

Bob’s your uncle.
