Where’s The Scrutiny Of The Mayor?

Not in The Los Angeles Times it appears.

Shocking.

A journalist outside the Times says: "It’s struck me that the news media covering Villar has gone back into its ostrich-head-in-the-sand mode. not much serious follow up. The ERSnews.com stuff is interesting but no one seems to be asking hard questions about it. I would at least like to read a story that has a graf reading "An examination of contracts showed that neither Cerrell Associates nor any of their clients received any city contract six months before the sales of the condo or six months after…" The Ana Garcia stuff was good, but NBC appears to be the only news organization willing to spend the money for legal work challenging the mayor on the release of this information. Lots of other potential ledes as well."

The explanation for this is too obvious–Villarpendejo is a DEMOCRAT and a MINORITY. In the eyes of the Lamestream Media, neither of those groups can do any wrong. Just imagine how Hahn or Riordan would be covered in a similar situation. It would be breaking news every day, with dozens of reporters unearthing every detail.
