Elita Loresca is the new weather anchor for KNBC’s "Today in LA" and the "Midday Report."
Loresca previously worked at Fox affiliate WSVN in Miami, where she was the weather anchor on the top-rated morning and noon newscasts since August 2004. Loresca has covered two of the most devastating hurricane seasons in recent history. Starting on her first day at WSVN, Loresca began forecasting the 2004 hurricane season with Hurricane Frances.
In 2005, Loresca contributed reports for her station from the National Hurricane Center during hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
The 30 year old Loresca is a Southern California native and once wrote obituaries for the Orange County Register.
Let’s hope the Mayor stays away from her.

I hate to agree with the poster who disses her for looking "too Mexican," especially if she’s Filipino Hispanic but she does look like someone from a Mexican soap or telenovela, these people make our country look more Third World than Mexico itself. There they are hypocritical, want their women to look more "anglo," even have their hair dyes often. It’s been said that someone like Eva Longoria could only become a star in the U S, in Mexico she’d have been considered "too Mexican looking."
Part of that is the slutty nature of their stars — the pointy bras and low-cut dresses showing huge boobs, combined with the fake hair, so retro, so against everything our American society has evolved toward since the feminist decades. These women openly use a tacky kind of sex appeal to get ahead. Compared to this girl, Mirthala was classy, except for her serial pol dating habits.
But the whole Mayor divorce thing was cloaked in Mexican mores, the "angry Latinas" who expected him to be perfect, because in Mexico men are pigs and single women are sluts taking away nice women’s husbands — I’m sick of all of that. I think the Mayor is trying to get out of the ghetto and be more American so let him. Maybe he’ll choose a "gringo" this time and really confuse the Mexican world.
