Jeremy Lin – Too Asian To Foul?

Steve Sailer writes: Would the reaction from the media be as sympathetic if white fans made up a similar tape of a white basketball player being fouled hard and implied that anti-white racism played a role?

There’s a curious pattern in recent decades in which the best white NBA players, such as John Stockton (Spokane) and Steve Nash (Victoria, British Columbia), developed in nearly all white places, suggesting that in more integrated setting white talent tends to get discouraged early. Perhaps tall white adolescents tend to get mugged on the basketball court? But nobody seems very interested in looking into the reasons behind this pattern …

* So it would seem that the onset of male puberty/full physical maturity might be inversely correlated to IQ: the higher the average IQ of your race/ethnic group, the slower the males of your race/ethnic group develop physically. Or, put another way, the lower your group IQ, the faster nature develops your males.

If true, it would interesting to figure out why that occurs. Is it purely a geographical evolution—e.g. in the Congo they needed you ready ASAP to fight off the local lions, while the IQ, which requires more investment in resources (i.e. longer period of time) could only develop where it was needed?

Or could also diversity force such extremes? That is, if you are faced with a population of people whose IQs are going to be, on average, larger than yours, your puberty accelerates so that you gain dominance early, a psychological advantage that you can hold over the smarter ones later, so they don’t kill you? Or it allows you to kill a high IQer whom you suspect might come after you later once he arranges a perfect plan?

* Chris Mullin may have been the last great white urban player. But his family was a left-over in late 1970s Brooklyn from when the Irish ran the CYO Leagues. Red Lining neighborhoods and white flight to Long Island and other outskirts exploded after he got to College. He was legendary for travelling all over 1970s NYC via subway to play in tough areas. Not many kids did that after him. Getting into Harlem or the Bronx from LI or NJ wasn’t as easy for white suburban kids.

* The race-ist truth is blacks dominate basketball because racial differences are real.

The reality of basketball demography is race-ist.

So, all this stuff about Lin is of secondary importance.

But the narrative overlooks the race-ist results of racial differences — like black domination in basketball — while wondering about possible ‘racist’ attitudes of ball players and referees.

* John Stockton was a leader in assists.

I think even if all the black ball players were nice, many whites would be discouraged from basketball cuz they know they can’t compete.
And even if white players did compete very hard, NBA would still be dominated by blacks.

Occam’s Razor. Blacks are better at sports.

And even the fact that blacks usually beat up and abuse non-blacks in sports proves that blacks are tougher.

What whites must do is just turn off on black-dominated sports. Why celebrate the domination of another race?

* The anti-Duke sentiments in college has something to do with hate-whitey mentality, even though most troubles are caused by black athletes.

* Shades of the 1980s Boston Celtics being “black America’s most hated team.” The fact that they could field a floor of five legitimate white players and beat any black team in the league made the hatred from blacks something to behold. And they beat Philly and Atlanta in big games, two black-dominated metropolises. Larry Bird was almost a curse word to blacks during that time.

* I think it’s even worse today because the NBA, beginning in the mid-80s, dialed back on calling a lot of fouls and illegal actions. This was initially done so the Magic/Bird/Jordan superstars could get away with more, make more highlight reels, and get the league more hype.

But when the Pistons in the late 80s/early 90s started mugging guys on the court, the NBA should’ve reined it in. It didn’t. It allowed the game to get a lot uglier. Now guys regularly travel and no whistle; double dribble with no whistle; hack each other and no whistle (as seen with Lin). As such, it’s become a less skillful sport than, say, 1970s basketball, and more that emphasizes brute athletic ability.

Which is why teams gave up on developing kids through the NCAA and just started drafted 18 year old high school kids whose only skills were being tall and athletic—which made the league so bad they moved the draft age up one year to 19.

And let’s not get started about how, although they just legalized zone defense in the last few years, NBA teams were running zones for the last 25 with very few whistles. That NBA ref who blew the whistle on the league being corrupt is going to be proven more right with time than we will ever know.

* “The NBA is a joke. The stars get together off court and decide who’s going to win. They let Kobe score 60 last night because it was his final game. As we speak Lebron is probably telling Wade it’s Miami’s turn to win the East again.”

Yeah that game looked rigged. The Lakers were pathetic throughout this season. It’s too much of a coincidence that during Kobe’s last game, the Lakers were playing like they were as good as The Golden State Warriors. So now they bring their A game?
