Baltimore Sun: A 20-year-old man has been charged in the rape and shooting Saturday night of a 20-year-old woman in West Baltimore, police said Wednesday.
Michael Jordan Brown of the 1600 block of Balmor Court was charged with rape, attempted murder and related offenses in the incident in Sandtown-Winchester.
The woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head.
“This is evidence of what we all can do collectively to make the streets of Baltimore safer,” police spokesman T.J. Smith said at a news conference. “To the rest of the city of Baltimore: We need you and we want to work with you in order to get bad guys off the street.”
The victim told police she was attacked by a masked man in an alley in the 1500 block of N. Carey St. He had passed her on the street and then doubled back to follow her, police said. He placed a hard object in her side, pulled her into an alley and raped and shot her, police said.
