Orthodox Jew Ari Goldman Uses The ‘F’ Word

Ari’s wife Shira emails:

Hi Luke,

I am perversely proud to bring you this little media tidbit, courtesy of my husband Ari L. Goldman, the publicly Orthodox former New York Times staff reporter, author of one book with the word GOD in the title, one book with the word JEWISH in the title and another book with the word, KADDISH in the title.

In other words, a guy who projects a RELIGIOUS vibe.

This same guy, currently a professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, is quoted in the pages of the newest issue of New York Magazine using a very irreligious word to convey his opinion of New Media that ignores the underpinnings of journalistic craftsmanship.

That word begins with an F, ends with a U-C-K and is NOT Firetruck.

In any case, here’s our family’s little moment of naches, accessed through this handy-dandy link:

http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/03/columbia_j-schools_existential.html.

Since it first ran two days ago, it has gotten picked up on a dozen or so sites, not the least of which is my own blog, Bungalow Babe in the Big City, whose url appears below.

Enjoy!

Shira
