Fast Called For Sunday

Over the past few months, three men (in their fifties or younger) in Rav Gershon Bess‘s shul at 7211 Beverly Blvd have died suddenly and unexpectedly. A month ago, Dr. Joel Schwartz died at his daughter’s wedding. A few months before, Anatoly Smolyansky, 39, drowned.

Rav Bess says these deaths shout that something is wrong with our community and we need to repent.

The fast is for the first half of Sunday, ending around noon. There will be a community mincha/maariv Sunday at Aish HaTorah on Doheney and Pico.
