Anwar Sadat had a Jewish doctor, whose son is the millionaire who owns American Pharaoh, the thoroughbred racehorse, that won the triple crown. This means there was enough of a Jewish community in Egypt even after Sadat assumed power after Nasser’s death to have a doctor that served the president and allowed his son to obtain an orthodox education (although he may have been sent abroad for that, but if that is the case he was allowed to travel freely in and out of the country).
