REPORT: A language barrier initially hindered the investigation, Police Chief Toussaint Summers Jr. said.

“The first officers who arrived on scene observed the suspect with a knife,” he told The Associated Press. “They gave him commands and he complied with the commands.”

The quiet neighborhood near railroad tracks was shattered by police activity when officers responded to a call of a man with a knife on Pasteur St. at 11 p.m. Cops searching the victim’s home found two children dead inside and a third, who died at CarolinaEast Medical Center…

“It’s just really hard right now,” said Susan Husson, who likely helped both Htoo and his victims settle in the city through her work as the director of the Interfaith Refugee Ministry. “It’s been really horrific.”
