How Do We Reduce The Number Of Black Men In Prison?

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* The only way to reduce the number of Black men in prison is to MAKE ALL CRIMES LEGAL, just like in the “Purge” films. The only way to reduce the number of Black men in prison to have total Libertarian anarchy. The only law is there are no laws.

* To hear their friends and family talk, black male defendants against charges of violent crime fall, at the time of their indictment, into one or more of only three categories: those who aspire to be rappers; those intending to start college; and those in the process of getting their life back together.

* It might be time to re-institute hard labor. It would be cosmic justice when you consider that the reason they are in trouble in the first place is that they had so audaciously avoided it.

* Howard Stern wrote about Five Percenters in one of his two autobiographies. They used to beat him up on a regular basis when he was in high school.

Why do you think he got a black woman to be his cohost? He would be smeared as a racist for talking about his brutal high school experience if it wasn’t for the black woman sitting behind the glass.

I have heard him talk about it on his show a few times. Even if half the stuff he said he just made up, it would have still been a brutal and horrifying experience. Liberal parents who make their kids go to a majority black school and get terrorized are terrible people.

* A few years back I was called for jury duty at the Cook County court-jail complex. The case was just a common one, some ghetto guy caught carrying a concealed gun. However, he wanted a jury trial. There were two prosecutors, two defense lawyers and one judge involved, all white and female. About twenty potential jurors were screened before a jury was agreed upon. The potential jurors were all grilled in public as to their biographies: Married? What do you do for a living? How long? What does your spouse do? Children? If grown what do they do? Ever been a victim of a crime and if so what happened? Any friends or relatives been victims? And on and on it dragged. It all seemed intrusive after being herded around. They didn’t get to me so I and the rest waited around to get our $17 checks from some nasty abusive black female in a sheriff uniform. Waste of time, waste of state resources; you get a glimpse of how your tax money is squandered and the crappy people employed on your dime.

* Here’s a corollary that applies more specifically to the topic at hand: when a population’s distribution on multiple variables (e.g. criminality, violence, intelligence), all of which affect their likelihood of ending up in prison for long periods, is skewed compared to other populations, their combined effect on disparate sentencing statistics shouldn’t be surprising. And yet, sentencing statistics aren’t all that disparate once you correct for priors. (Sorry, that may be a confusing word given the context — I mean prior offenses, not Bayesian priors! By virtue of having a higher crime rate in the first place, in any given trial involving a black defendant, the defendant is more likely to be a repeat offender, which factors into the sentencing.)

* This reminds me of a conversation I had a few years back with my cousin.

He was, at the time, a police detective at a medium-sized city in the South. I asked him why people who were obviously guilty — I mean cases where the evidence was just overwhelmingly against them, and no non-insane person could ever conclude otherwise — would sometimes plead “not guilty.” I couldn’t understand the motivation. Were they just motivated by spite? Were they just giving a big middle finger to the System?

Surprisingly, he said this wasn’t usually the case. In what won’t come as a shock to iSteve readers, he explained that many of the criminals he had to deal with were not very bright. Consequently, they were very easily swayed by people who were more confident and charismatic — to the point that a particularly charismatic person could convince them not to believe what their own minds were telling them.

In short, you’d get cases where a guy would believe that because his very loud and religious aunt or grandmother or whoever was telling him, “you didn’t do this, you aren’t guilty, it’s all lies,” he would conclude that he must not be guilty, even if his memories were telling him otherwise — because his aunt or grandmother would never lie to him. If there was a conflict, then clearly it was his memory that had to be wrong, not his saintly aunt or grandmother.

FUN HATE FACTS FROM THE BELL CURVE BLOG:

Thus for example: a class of fifty students, six of them are black. None of the white essays are plagiarized, all of the black essays are plagiarized.

If there are a thousand blacks in the university, there is going to be some overlap. If there are six blacks in the class, probably not. Particularly as the likes of Michelle Obama are not in the class, because they probably got a luxury all expenses paid scholarship to grace Princeton with their presence.

Conversely, if you look at the work of a person who is a member of a group where they were selected for being good enough, and yet that work is is not good enough, you can be pretty sure he belongs to the category benefited by affirmative action. You can tell the skin color of first lady Michelle Obama from the fact that her Princeton University senior thesis is incoherent and full of has spelling and grammar errors. Obviously, you cannot conclude that someone is black from the fact that their essay is no good, but from the fact that it is senior thesis at an ivy league university, and nonetheless no good, you can tell that she is black. Thanks to hyperexponential decay, even Princeton cannot find enough black women who can write decent essays.

The Ivy League are hard up for enough black men, hard up for enough females, and to make their quota of black female graduates, they have to really scrape the bottom of the barrel, first lady Michelle Obama being what they find at the bottom of the barrel.

If a crime is violent, you cannot necessarily know the perpetrator is black. If a crime is stupid, you cannot necessarily know the perpetrator is black. But if a crime is violent and stupid, you can be pretty sure the perpetrator was black, thanks to hyperexponential decay:

Two women attempt to pass a counterfeit $50 bill at McDonald’s. The cashier refuses it. One of them punches the cashier, a large male. He retreats. They jump the counter. He flees all the way to the corner. Then they attack him in the corner. He loses control, beats the crap out of both of them, damn near kills one of them. Guess the race.
