Rabbi Talks About Losing His Job For Surfing For Porn At Work

The rabbi said he acted out for 25 years until he found Sexaholics Anonymous.

Alan: “I’m from New York… The internet saved my life because it got me fired. I was a rabbi. At the time, it seemed like a really good idea for a rabbi in my field to go on the company computer and surf porn. My hierarchy didn’t think the same way I did. They said you can’t come back next week. I said, wow, the gig is up. Twenty five years of acting out is up. I couldn’t even save my morning prayers. The rabbi who caught me said I should continue in my rabbinic work. Nobody will hear about this from my mouth. That happened. I lost a six figure job but I didn’t lose a day of work… I was looking through the phone book to act out and I saw Sexaholics Anonymous and I thought, wow, this would be a great place to act out, and I called the line.”

“The internet is a gift of God. I am able to connect with people worldwide.”

“I had a problem with Peeping Tomism and I had a problem with looking into windows. I couldn’t look at phone books for a long time. I’d look up escorts. For a long time, I couldn’t have internet in my house.”
