I don’t find the following story hard to understand. I think it is easy to understand. People will do almost anything, including throwing acid in their own face, to get attention.
Most people, including myself, grow towards attention in the same that plants angle for the light.
This is a reason that many people choose to be unhappy — because they get more attention that way. Who are parents going to bestow more attention on? The ten kids who are happy or the eleventh kid who is unhappy?
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Police in Washington state say their investigation of the woman who burned her face with acid and then reported she’d been attacked is nearly finished – but they still can’t explain her motive.
A Vancouver police spokeswoman said Friday that Bethany Storro has offered no explanation for her self-inflicted injuries and lie, and investigators haven’t developed one, beyond saying she was emotionally fragile.
On Aug. 30, Storro told police a woman approached her outside a coffee shop and tossed acid in her face. Storro later confessed under questioning that the burns were self-inflicted.
