During high school, I fell in with a bunch of conspiracy theorists from my church. They warned me about the Freemasons and the Illuminatti (nothing negative about the Jews however). I read about 20 books on the Kennedy assasination that purported to debunk the Warren Commission.
I had a weakness for cranks and conspiracies until I started listening to Dennis Prager and he convinced me that conspiracies were for people who don’t feel in control of their lives.
