Jared Taylor was prominently featured in a Hillary Clinton campaign ad released ahead of her speech denouncing the “alt-right” in Reno on Thursday and “appreciates” the Democratic presidential nominee for “calling attention to the message I have for America”.
The self-described “race realist” is unrepentant in embracing the label and expounding his views. He founded the alt-right American Renaissance website 25 years ago, which started as a print monthly to emphasize race as society’s most “prominent and divisive” fault line, and that mainstream politics and media tries to “gloss over” the issue.
Clinton has attacked Trump’s associations with the alt-right, describing it as a “a fringe element that has taken over the Republican party”.
Taylor said her speech was “a typical lefty campaign ploy”, and maintained Trump is not a part of the movement. “Is Hillary Clinton responsible for the views of everyone who supports her?” he asked.
Asked to define what the diffuse alt-right stands for, Taylor said there were “areas of disagreement”, but that “the central element of the alt-right is the position it takes on race.”
That position, until recently, would have been clearly beyond the pale of presidential politics, and rejected by liberals and mainstream conservatives alike. Now, Taylor sees an opportunity to further proselytise his views. He does not think Trump is solely responsible for the alleged growth of the alt-right. But, “it is encouraging because here we have a candidate for president who is saying some things that we have been saying for years”.
Principally, their common ground with Trump is on immigration policy – deportations, the repeal of birthright citizenship and Trump raising the “question of why we need more Muslims in this country”.
For Taylor, and other members of the alt-right, race is an inescapable biological fact, which has consequences. “The races are not equal and equivalent. If a nation changes demographically, its society will change,” he said.
In her speech, Clinton cited the US Olympic team as an example of strength in diversity. Taylor uses it as an example of the different capacities and abilities of races. He argues that while black people are good athletes, whites and Asians have higher IQs, offering a form of the “scientific racism” that was widely discredited, and denounced by the UN after the second world war.
“Races are different. Some races are better at some things than others”, he said.
Taylor also sees the racial separatism he strives for as a matter of “freedom of association”, and denies that the alt-right is a hate movement, as Clinton has claimed.
“If a white person says, ‘I like being white, and I prefer my associates to be white’, that’s hate? Why?” he said. “It should not be taboo to talk about these things.”
Political scientist George Hawley, who authored a book on the crisis of mainstream conservatism in the face of the challenge of the far right, said that until recently, mainstream conservatives were partly responsible for enforcing whatever taboos existed on this kind of open racial language and thinking.
“The mainstream conservative movement has never wanted any kind of formal relationship with Taylor or his organisation. In fact, an association with American Renaissance could be damaging to a conservative’s career.”
This enmity is mutual. Taylor said: “Mainstream conservatives have completely conceded the question of race, at the cost of their own political fortunes.”
Taylor has been a presence on the racially motivated fringes of the right for more than a quarter of a century, following the founding of his New Century Foundation in 1990, and American Renaissance in 1991. In articles – many written by Taylor – at events and in podcasts, the website stresses white people are discriminated against, black people are inclined to crime and mainstream conservatives who deny these assertions this are culpable and headed for disaster.
Better defined by what it isn’t than what it is, the “Alt-right,” broadly speaking, is a reaction to left wing identity politics and the failure of traditional Conservatism to formulate a reply. The alt-right opposes interventionist neocon policies with the same ferocity as illegal immigration and gun control. They share more similarities with European “far right” parties, such as the French FN, than they do with traditional Republicans. History buffs may want to look at “Nationalist State Capitalist” policies of the Spanish Falange in the early 1930’s to get a clearer picture.
Aside from this, the alt-right is the most aggressively offensive political movement in existence, and it often targets the Jewish community. So why would I be there?
I enjoy the nasty talk in the alt-right. I enjoy spending rhetorical time with people who might otherwise hate me. The alt-right has energy, it has vitality, it’s something NEW and creative, it’s honest and forthright. It’s also the only viable political movement that is explicitly fighting for that nebulous concept of “Western Civilization.”
I have thick skin and a tolerance for others. Liberals like to imagine themselves “tolerant,” but real tolerance is the ability to be around people who are different than you and still value them as people. I’m from a small town, and was raised around tough, rural whites who didn’t spend much time checking their privilege.
College was where my awakening began. I majored in Philosophy, and in the mid to late 90’s, concepts such as “white privilege” and “critical race theory” were still part of the free marketplace of ideas, ideas you could debate without fear of sanction. Being acutely aware of rural white poverty, I rejected these concepts in favor of an understanding that privilege was as complex as the human experience, an experience the identity warrior on the left believes is dependent on our racial identity. Politically I called myself a leftist, but this changed as I realized the privilege equation worked against my own community. Watching the left attack Israel in the late 90’s turned me away from left wing politics for good.
After 9/11, the “neo con” ideology took over Conservative thought. The Bush Administration’s failed policies opened the door for Barack Obama and what should have been a new era of progressive politics. I had rejected the hard left, but saw Obama as a pragmatic whose economic policies would be better for middle and working class Americans. I don’t think he had been in office six months before his capitulation to Wall Street was complete, and within a few years his foreign policy was little different than Bush’s, full of failed interventions and optimistic slaughters. The Republicans, through all of this, had nothing to offer but shrill, ineffective denunciation.
The Trayvon Martin case had more to do with the growth of the Alt-Right than any individual event. I remember the initial reports of the incident, suggesting Zimmerman had used racial slurs, tracked down and shot an innocent child. As more and more evidence came out challenging this narrative, something was happening to my “liberal” friends.

Most likely, Mrs. Clinton’s interest in the drug, “modofanil” (provigil) was motivated by her concerns (or that of others) about ongoing and troubling issues of “fatigue” and “mental fog.” She is, after all, 68 years old, somewhat overweight, never much of an exercise enthusiast – as far as is known – hypothyroid, prone to clot formation, and a rather frequent sufferer of falls and various mishaps (“sniper fire,” and other threats to her well-being). This medication (modofanil, aka “provigil”) is known to be employed as a “brain-hack” among the Silicon Valley crowd, etc. It demonstrably “revs up” alertness, attention, talkativeness (“gabbiness”), and “mental energy.” It is thought to be relatively safe and without concerning side-effects (unlike amphetamines – think Jack Kennedy).
The “Bullett-proof Coffee” guy (quality coffee with grass-fed sourced cow butter) is a vocal proponent of this “brain hack,” as are others among the Silicon Valley crowd. It has some “legitimate” indications, and is easily obtained by prescription to treat “shift-work-related” fatigue, etc. I would guess that she uses it for appearances – think Jimmy Kimble show – and at times when she must be “on” and energetic for the public, etc. I don’t personally have a problem with her (possible) use of the medication, per se. Further, I do not think that she demonstrates signs or evidence of Parkinson’s disease, either.

Forward: Meet the rabbi who’s on a mission to educate the Orthodox community about sexual abuse—and publicly out pedophiles while he’s at it.
For the past 15 years, Rabbi Yakov Horowitz has been trying to break the cycle of silence associated with abuse in the Orthodox community. According to the Torah, Jews are forbidden to turn criminals over to non-Jewish authorities, and are expected to face shunning and bullying from their community if they do.
As such, sexual abuse often goes unreported.
“You have people who are [very close.] Reporting on somebody who you’re friendly with, or who is someone’s uncle is more challenging than reporting on somebody you don’t know,” Horowitz told Vocativ. “…I’ve been telling parents to go to police.”
The rabbi has turned his personal Twitter and Facebook accounts into a one man campaign against sexual abuse.
“Warning to Boro Park parents about released sex offender Dascalowitz.” Horowitz tweeted last month, linking to a Facebook post he had written that includes the current address of sex offender Meir Dascalowitz, who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in 2013.

At a time when most Congressional Republicans are trying to distance themselves from Donald Trump, one is behaving like a cheap clone of his party’s presidential candidate, complete with mind-numbing outrageous charges and incendiary rhetoric.
Rep. Lee Zeldin, the lone Jewish Republican in the 114th Congress, has called Barack Obama a “racist,” sounded like a Trump birther clone questioning the president’s heritage and loyalty and accused him of having “no idea what he is doing.”
Zeldin, a freshman representing New York’s first district at the eastern end of Long Island, likes to imitate his idol, Trump, by phrasing an accusation as if he’s not the one who actually made the charge.
He said the return of $400 million in frozen funds to Iran was a “cash ransom to the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism,” virtually accusing the president of treason by suggesting he “is playing for the other team.”
The charge of dual loyalty is particularly offensive coming from a Jewish congressman.
Speaker Paul Ryan’s called Trump’s attack on the Mexican heritage of Indiana-born Judge Gonzalo Curiel “the textbook definition of racist,” but Zeldin defended the mogul, telling CNN not Trump but “the president of the United States is a racist with his policies and his rhetoric.”

NEWS: A 29-year-old French national charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a British woman to death posted a cryptic message shortly before the attack at a backpackers’ hostel in north Queensland.
Moments before allegedly killing 21-year-old Mia Ayliffe-Chung and attempting to stab two others, Smail Ayad allegedly wrote a message on his Facebook page which, when translated, said he “believed he was a victim of international organisations” and would “die soon”.
Mr Ayad has also been charged with two counts of attempted murder, serious animal cruelty, and 12 counts of assault after the attack at Shelley’s Backpackers in Home Hill on Monday, in which Ms Ayliffe-Chung died and British man Tom Jackson, 30, suffered critical head injuries while trying to save her…
Police allege Mr Ayad yelled “Allahu Akbar” – an Islamic phrase meaning “God is great” – during the attack and again during his arrest.

It’s naive to expect that Jews and blacks will have a lot in common. They are about as different as two peoples can be. Sure, at times, they are both cooperating members of the Coalition of the Fringe and have common interests as against the white majority, but often those interests diverge.
It’s silly to expect American blacks to identify more with Jewish Israel than with the plight of Palestinians and other Arabs and Muslims. Islam and the Nation of Islam are a good group evolutionary strategy for blacks.
With Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) much talked about as a natural for a future Democratic national ticket, it’s possible that Diveroli/Botach/Boteach family history may be furnishing us with material for comic movies ripped from the headlines for decades to come.
It was the future U.S. senator from New Jersey’s first Purim party, back at Oxford University in the 1990s. The home video shows a young Cory Booker dancing in circles and carrying on his back a bearded man dressed in a clown suit – Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.
Shmuley Boteach is the uncle of international arms dealer Efraim Diveroli of the Jonah Hill movie War Dogs.
But today, instead of bringing a smile to the faces of those involved, the recent re-emergence of this video has only served to worsen open wounds that have yet to heal.
“It took me back all those years. And it made me incredibly sad,” wrote Boteach in his Jerusalem Post column, stating he feels it is now harder for him to forgive Booker, the junior senator from New Jersey.
The battle waged last summer over the nuclear deal with Iran has left divisions still visible in many parts of the American Jewish and wider pro-Israel community, but nowhere more so than in its impact on the once-tight relationship between the black pol and the Jewish preacher. …
The Booker–Boteach dispute also presents a broader question for the Jewish community: Do years of support, both political and financial, of a politician entail a promise in advance that he will side with the community on key issues with broad national impact? …
Boteach prides himself on having introduced Booker to the Jewish community two and a half decades ago. It’s a role that no one denies he played.

* I’ve never understood this persistent misconception among much of the Unz Review commentariat that Israel directs much of the United States’ foreign policy. Is it enough just to have a Christmas tree or do you actually have to go to church once in awhile? Do they have to vote Republican like other white people? Are you still allowed to eat ethnic food? This might have been true in 1936 or maybe even in 1976, but old school anti-Semitic Arabist WASPs don’t even run the CIA and the State Dept. any more let alone Congress or the rest of America. If you go looking for the old WASP establishment, it’s gone, kaput, finito, extinct, as rare as white rhinos. Their 1.2 sons or daughters are living in lesbian communes in Vermont or saving the whales in the rain forest or else they have married Jews (one of FDR’s great grandsons is a rabbi). The current Supreme Court consists of 5 Catholics and 3 Jews and zero WASPs. Kerry and Albright pretended to be bona fide WASPs but were really Marranos. Herzl was not the pope of the Jews. The Jews don’t have a pope. Jews, like most other people, don’t usually leave the country of their birth for a poorer country (Israel is doing well economically but is still poorer than the US) unless conditions are really bad. A small % of the Jews of Israel arrived for ideological reasons because they bought into Zionism, but most are there because the places that they left were really shitty. Most American Jews are doing pretty well right where they are so only a few have made aliyah. Consider the Jews to be the canaries in the coal mine. If Jews really do start pulling up stakes from the US in large numbers, it won’t be a good sign. Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.
* Upper-crust Catholics hold an idiosyncratic jealousy and hatred of middle-class Jews, to a degree unseen even among rural Arabian populations. An ambitious Jew will find this attitude confronting them at any number of points in their professional career, albeit easily overcome.
* If the way the US government has been run for the last 50 years is not good enough for Jews, they will never be happy.
* There is no government upper tier reserved for elite WASPs where they could revile Jews as such with impunity, even if they wanted to. Jews have headed the CIA twice, and David Cohen is not even the first person of that name to be no 2 at the CIA. Wasps have disappeared from the supreme court, which is 33% Jewish. There may be some WASPs in the State department but Israel’s problems with US foriegn policy stem from Israel having been founded as an ethno state, and WASP anti-ethnostate idealism, marching on largely without actual WASPs, has passed it by.

* If Booker is gay, he’s a pretty macho homo. Doesnt have any gay tells in walk, talk, or mannerisms. He looks like he could handle most guys in a fight.

When my alarm went off at 5:35 am, I was in a dream where these dusky guys were making fun of me online and I ran into them in person and I tried desperately to connect with them and to be friends and they had such contempt for me and yet I kept trying to bond.
I think that when you have secure attachment, you are less likely to try to befriend people who have contempt for you, but when you have anxious attachment like I do, you often end up seeking connection in all sorts of inappropriate places. I have often sought friendship with people who loathed me. It’s a sickness. A friend says I’d make a good battered husband.
A couple of acquaintances remember running into me circa 1998 after they had expressed contempt for me on their website Talking Blue and they were bemused that I was trying to befriend them. I think they felt sorry for me and so they accepted a grudging friendship wherein they could maintain their contempt.
We all have to connect and attach. If we can’t do it in a healthy way with other people, we’ll do it in unhealthy ways with other people, places, things, substances, experiences.
The other day I got invited to join a football pool. “I can’t,” I said. “I’m a gambling addict. Excitement is dangerous for me. I have to lead a tranquil life.”
Alt-Right leaders, unlike Neo-Nazis or KKK supporters, are intellectually and rhetorically sophisticated. Jared Taylor, editor of the American Renaissance website, holds degrees from Yale and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. On his site, Taylor published “An Open Letter to Cuckservatives” — the Alt-Right’s insulting term for moderate conservatives — laying out his beliefs.
In the letter, Taylor denies the notion that “the things you love about America…are rooted in certain principles.” Rather, “they are rooted in certain people.” That is, white people: “Germans, Swedes, Irishmen, and Hungarians could come and contribute to the America you love,” Taylor says. “Do you really believe that a future Afro-Hispanic-Caribbean-Asiatic America will be anything like the America your ancestors built?” White nationalism is more important than inalienable rights because “Even when they violate your principles, white people build good societies. Even when they abide by your principles, non-whites usually don’t.”
Richard B. Spencer of the National Policy Institute, who went to the Universities of Chicago and Virginia, is openly anti-American. In an interview last July with the New York Times he said: “America as it is currently constituted — and I don’t just mean the government; I mean America as constituted spiritually and ideologically — is the fundamental problem…I don’t support and agree with much of anything America is doing in the world.” He despises “cuckservatives” because “we’ve recognized the bankruptcy of this ideology, based on ‘free markets,’ ‘values,’ and ‘American exceptionalism.’”
In short, this new strain of reactionary thought goes beyond the garden-variety racial prejudice of yore — which certainly was bad enough — to a root-and-branch rejection of American 21st century values. The Alt-Right represents the first new philosophical competitor to liberalism, broadly defined, since the fall of Communism.
Is anyone listening to the Alt-Right? Yes: Key Alt-Right websites the American Renaissance and VDARE — named after Virginia Dare, “the first white child of English parentage born in America” — both received more web visits last November than Dissent and Ms. The National Policy Institute and its Radix Journal together had many more visits than the neoconservative policy journal National Affairs.
So the Alt-Right has an audience — and in Trump, it has a candidate. Trump’s rants about Mexican rapists charging across the southern border, his attacks on an American-born judge of Mexican descent, and his calls to ban Muslims from entering the country, are all in line with Alt-Right ideology. Accordingly, Alt-Right organizations made robocalls for Trump in the Iowa, New Hampshire and Utah primaries.
VDARE declared in July: “We are all Donald Trump Now.” And the website’s editor, Peter Brimelow, wrote on Wednesday: “Trump is the best presidential candidate on immigration that we’ve ever had. That’s not saying a lot, goodness knows — but it’s a YUGE advance.”
But VDARE isn’t the Alt-Right flavored publication most closely associated with Trump. That distinction goes to Breitbart News, whose former chair, Stephen K. Bannon, is now the Trump campaign CEO. Bannon has described Breitbart as a “platform for the Alt-Right.” The site even published a helpful “Guide to the Alt-Right” which explained that “young rebels” are drawn to the cause “for the same reason that young Baby Boomers were drawn to the New Left in the 1960s: because it promises fun, transgression, and a challenge to social norms they just don’t understand.” Those norms apparently include tolerance and the concept of racial equality.
