Long before Trump’s arrival on the scene, it was conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage, the idealogical godfather of “Trumpism,” who galvanized this insurgency. Savage gave it a voice and a powerful narrative, one that proved extremely helpful to those, like iconoclastic Senator Ted Cruz, who rose to prominence taking on the very same GOP beltway insiders that Donald Trump is now making so nervous.
Years before Trump, Savage had already redefined the nature of the American political landscape when he blew up the Republican Party establishment’s hold on its working class base. Trump can come or go, but this insurgency has a depth and breadth that can’t be ignored.
I have been a longtime listener to Savage because I think that, as a journalist, you risk being blindsided if you ignore someone to whom millions of your fellow Americans are tuning in. I saw the rise of Trump coming several months ago precisely because I know how deep the support runs in so much of America for Savage’s nativist mantra, that the very survival of the nation is threatened by the erosion of our “borders, language, and culture.”
Between American multinationals, who do everything and anything to avoid taxes, and American politicians, who so often trade on their office to amass vast fortunes, regular working class Americans feel abandoned. For decades, as businesses have increasingly exploited undocumented immigrants for cheap labor or moved operations out of the country entirely, these voters have become resentful, watching their wages stagnate and full-time jobs with benefits become scarcer by the day.
For many of them, Savage’s “Savage Nation” is a kind of sanctuary. In his running commentary, he’s gone after the duopoly of Republican and Democratic elites. While Trump was still playing nice in polite society and donating money to Democrats, Savage was building a huge audience skewering political correctness and going after what he perceived as the excesses of both parties.
Savage calls liberalism “a mental disorder,” and blames it for the disintegration of a national cohesion that gave America the backbone to conquer fascism in the Second World War, and the persistence to outlast the Soviet Union in the Cold War that followed. For Savage, the classical foundations of western civilization are innately superior to whatever else is out there.
Yet, he will go on populist rants denouncing U.S. multinationals for outsourcing tech jobs. He has zeroed in on the bi-partisan tradition of elected officials that go on to enrich themselves by doing the bidding of corporations, and even foreign interests.
Savage is a raconteur of many parts, with roots in New York City, where he grew up. He is a bestselling New York Times author, has a master’s degree in medical anthropology and a Phd from the University of California at Berkeley in epidemiology and nutrition sciences. He says he is an avid conservationist and animal lover, yet dismisses global warming as a hoax.
His extemporaneous musings about his daily comings and goings, his 11-pound poodle Teddy, and about his days growing up in working class New York, are poignant and display a rich emotional arc. Unlike his rightwing colleagues, that rant on politics exclusively, Savage’s dynamic range makes him engaging company.
He can talk to listeners about what he had to eat and drink the night before, and, in the process, share the vicissitudes of growing older with millions intimately. He’s speaking to you and only you, especially if you fit his key demographic, the disaffected white conservative voter. Back in a flattering 2009 New Yorker profile Savage’s show was described as “one of the most addictive programs on radio, and one of the least predictable.”
Although his father was a devout materialist, Savage seems to have spent much of his life searching for the right way to articulate his Jewish heritage. For a time, in the eighties, he attended Friday-night services at the Chabad House in Berkeley. And he loves to talk about his well-worn Hebrew Bible, which is full of annotations and Post-it notes. Despite his alliance with evangelical Christians, he seems untempted by Christianity itself. “You go to a graveyard, and someone’s dead, and they give the mumbo-jumbo,” he told his listeners one afternoon. “You want to believe the Resurrection. Do you actually believe it? Many of you do.” But, on another afternoon, he riffled through the Book of Revelation in an attempt to explain the latest perfidies of the Obama Administration. “We now have a prophecy emerging in front of our eyes,” he said.
When Savage gets really apocalyptic, it can be hard to separate his political observations from his medical complaints, and maybe he’s not quite convinced that they really are separate. Recently, he has had vision problems, which have come to acquire a symbolic significance. “I feel as though, almost, I’m losing my sight from looking every day at such horror,” he says. “I feel as though my eyes are closing on me, because they don’t want to see it anymore.” When he talks on the air about his homes in “hidden locations,” he suggests that he’s worried about some crazed liberal assassinating him. “I have to watch out for them, because they’re all psychopaths,” he says. Listen to Savage long enough and you may be persuaded to think that liberalism is code for all the stupid things we just can’t conquer: weakness and decadence and human frailty and death itself.
Near the end of “Psychological Nudity,” Savage writes, “I’m watching the sands of time fall into the hourglass. There’s more sand on the bottom now than there is on the top.” And he makes reference to his own death with startling frequency: a few times an hour, week after week. Just about anything can set him off. A beautiful pair of Shetland sheepdogs in the mall reminds him of the dogs’ kindly owner, which in turn reminds him of unkind dog owners, which makes him think about Michael Vick’s dogfighting operation, which brings to mind dead dogs, which leads him, inexorably, to a consideration of “the old boxeroo, waiting at the end of the road for all of us.” His thoughts on dying are often informed by Buddhist theories of enlightenment and reincarnation.

BRUSSELS — We now know that there has been a cover-up by governments and the media in Western Europe about the potential danger of immigration from the Islamic world. It was a conspiracy involving politicians, police officials, and journalists.
The European public was programmed by a relentless media campaign to believe immigration was good; criticism of immigration was racist.
Six months before the deadly Islamic terror attacks in Belgium, left-wing demonstrators were playing dead in the streets of Brussels, protesting for more immigration from the Middle East and against stronger borders in Europe — stronger borders that might have saved the lives of 34 people killed in Brussels last month.
Sold a Bill Goods? The Left’s mantra has been “no walls, no borders.” But many Europeans now realize they were sold a bill of goods about open borders and immigration by the political and media class.
Voices who warned about the threat from open immigration were either branded racist or simply ignored. Belgian Jewish leader Joël Rubinfeld warned CBN News a year and a half ago that the Belgian government was too soft on Muslim extremists, and that more attacks were coming.
“We say you need a very long fork to eat with the devil. I think there is no fork long enough to eat with Islamism,” he said.
And the multicultural charade has now clearly crumbled — in Germany when the city of Cologne was caught trying to cover-up massive New Year’s sex attacks, in Sweden where the public learned that the police and media covered up large scale sexual assaults at a summer music festival in Stockholm last year, and in Brussels, which became a home to some of the most dangerous terrorists in Europe.
In cities across Western Europe, women are now afraid to walk alone at night on the street. Muslims make up almost half of Belgium’s prison population, and Jews everywhere live in fear of anti-Semitic attacks.
This didn’t just happen, but in many cases the information has been suppressed.
Immigration Cover-Up Sweden has been notorious for censoring the problems of immigration. Newspapers obscured the faces and changed the skin tone of crime suspects with immigrant backgrounds, while showing their faces as if they were white native Swedes.
The Swedish police even had a special code when handling immigrant crime: code 291.
“Code 291 — and this is in all the Swedish newspapers now — the police were told to cover up any crime related to the refugees. Do not tell the media. Do not leave a paper trail,” Swedish policy analyst Tino Sanandaji told CBN News.
“Apparently now we’re finding out there were hundreds of violent crimes,” he said.
Some Swedes have become so frustrated with the censorship that they go to social media to get the truth out themselves. For instance, one YouTube video posted by “The Angry Foreigner” begins with, “Hey, welcome to Sweden. This is the number one rape capital of Europe.”
A lot of Swedes now realize they’ve been lied to, and they’re wondering what else the government and media have been hiding from them.
A Muzzled Media “You have a lot of problems that were never reported until literally days ago,” Sanandaji said. “It was factually true, but they decided that it was against their ideological agenda. They covered it up. Now we’re finding it out.”
The man who found evidence that one of Sweden’s largest papers covered up the sex assaults in Stockholm is journalist Chang Frick, who says journalists have been either too afraid or not allowed to report the truth.
“I read books about the Soviet Union and everyone was checking each other. This is the situation we have in Sweden. But it’s more in a soft way,” Frick said. “You don’t get in jail for having the wrong thoughts. You would lose your job. You would get socially stigmatized.”
The paper, Dagens Nyheter, says the claim that it was part of a cover-up is “a lie,” and that it could not confirm the story.
Blood on Their Hands? Ingrid Carlqvist, a distinguished fellow at the Gatestone Institute, has been telling Swedes for years that they were being misled about immigration. Now, she feels vindication.
“I’ve been trying to tell the Swedish people this for five years or something. And everyone said, ‘No, it couldn’t be like that. Politicians don’t lie like that. Journalists are honest. They couldn’t lie about this, no, no, no,’” she said.
“Now everything has exploded, and there is not a living person in this country who can go on (covering their eyes),” she said.
Swedish immigration policy changed. It was forced to because it faced a system-wide collapse. There are now guards on the border, and some Swedish papers have reported more openly about the problems of immigration.
But if you think the European Left has learned its lesson about the danger of open borders, you would be wrong. After the Brussels attack, there were several articles essentially blaming terrorism on racism and calling for continued opened borders.
There are refugees who need help, but Europe’s misplaced generosity has brought war to its doorstep. And some believe that politicians, police officials, and journalists now have blood on their hands.

Michelle Goldberg doesn’t seem to realize that criticizing BLM protestors might actually be popular among a lot of voters – even Democratic voters. Probably, a lot of white and oriental Democrats have as much black-fatigue as do Republican voters, even though they might not say it. Perhaps Bill is providing a “Sister Soulja” sound-bite for his wifes’ campaigns’ benefit. Who knows – if he could still fly back to Little Rock and sign a death-warrant for a retarded black murderer, he might have done that too.

A few years ago, Stephen Pinker specifically, if a bit wryly, praised Clinton for causing crime rates to drop. There’s a lot to dislike about Bill Clinton, but he did buck the soft-on-crime tendencies of the 1960s Democrats and worked with Republicans to increase law enforcement. In contrast, BLM is a truly evil movement, built on top of and fueled by deceit, hysteria and mass violence. Good for Bill Clinton to denounce BLM.

And because blacks are more likely to encounter police officers than whites, they are more likely to get booked for drug use than whites.
* I’m more inclined to ascribe Bill Clinton’s remarks to Elderly Tourette Syndrome than to cold rational political calculations–it just seemed too spontaneous. Bill is, after all, from the South and grew up in close proximity to blacks. He’s not at all surprised that a “get tough on crime bill,” put a lot more blacks in prison: that was a feature, not a bug.
* Blacks have a cultural need to publicly flout whitey’s rules. Thus they commit crime more flagrantly than do whites. Going to prison now functions as a male initiation rite in the black community.
* A Jewish male does not become a real man until he has a Bar Mitzvah. A Black male does not become a real man until he goes to prison.

* Blacks I’ve known are generally interested in four things: getting laid, getting high, watching sports on TV and fried chicken. A drug induced stupor is their default state. Their mental ability is unimpaired by their doping because there isn’t much there to impair to begin with. A black man’s creativity and his unique contribution to wider culture is in concocting and brewing new highs, which is why they are disproportionately arrested for drug use.
Because they aren’t needed as workers and have a surfeit of leisure time with which to pursue their agenda of staying buzzed, blacks once again (as in Rap) are showing us the way forward. Increasingly, the problem in the future will be what to do with surplus humanity that has no useful purpose. Keeping them stoned zombies is as good a solution as any. Huxley may not have foreseen that people won’t need to be forced to take drugs to quell their restiveness, they may demand drugs to silence the torment that is the human condition. They will willingly choose to stay buzzed right up to the grave, oblivious to the demands that teleological individuality imposes on us.
Evolution designed us to live with a certain amount of worry and anxiousness, which purposeful behavior relieves. But this also causes discomfort and blacks like being free from worry, hence their drug use. This is the way forward for those made irrelevant by robots etc. Once again, the wise, magical Negro has shown us the way.
* Ordinarily, I’d say Bill’s instincts are correct for moving towards the center for the general election, but the Dems are still in the primaries, and this looks like a big mistake to do it so early. White liberals are so brainwashed that blacks have become magic unicorns to them, and if you criticize blacks in any way, shape, or form, liberals think you’re evil–and that you’re an old fogey who needs to be put out to pasture, much the same way liberals in the 1960s used to view elderly white Southerners. Liberals are only going to back Bernie in even greater numbers after this.
White liberals aren’t voting for Bernie because of his stance on race. They’re voting for Bernie because he’s not Hillary. They think Hillary is appalling. This is the blind spot in the Clinton polling. Heck, I’ve heard many liberals froth at the mouth about what Hillary has done in Honduras as SoS, and Republicans are so out of it they haven’t even heard about that issue.
The problem is, for many liberals, the Clintons are too old, too set in their ways, too 1980s, too greedy, too corrupt, too status quo, and with race signaling like this, liberals won’t tolerate it. They have made themselves into an Inquisition. We are living in an age of left-wing McCarthyism, with a bizarre mind-set that has taken over the levers and controls of society. As noted in the other article about the female broadcaster, liberals think it’s normal to fire employees for saying the same stuff that Bill just said. This is a very different era from the 1980s.
If lefties go even farther, they’ll begin to morph into the sort of extreme nut-jobism that took over in communist societies like Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Mao’s China, and Stalin’s Russia. The only thing protecting our basic rights are our present laws, which the left keeps encroaching on and trying to alter to suit their crazy ideology.

Talese went to some kind of seminar in Boston recently. When asked which women journalists inspired him in his pioneering New Journalism in the 1960s, he answered: “None.”
Of course, the reason was that everybody knows, deep down, that women tend not to be pioneers. But that just makes it more scandalous for an old man to mention it.
Looking in Wolfe’s canonical 1973 anthology, T he New Journalism, I see that women writers made 2 of the 23 contributions. The most famous female New Journalist is Joan Didion, but the less well-known Barbara Goldsmith is also represented. Male New Journalists, besides Wolfe and Talese, include Hunter S. Thompson, Truman Capote, Norman Mailer, Joe McGinnis, George Plimpton, Terry Southern, and Michael Herr.

* Old liberals are going to have to stop writing articles or giving interviews if they want to stay out of trouble. The politically correct line changes so quickly it’s impossible for them to keep up. For example, on yesterday’s All Things Considered I learned that the stalwart liberal Calvin Trillin, 80, wrote a humorous poem about the cuisine of different Chinese provinces. It was published in the New Yorker, gatekeeper of the pc line. Nevertheless, it offended some Chinese. Timothy Yu, associate professor of English and Asian-American studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, said, “The major feeling I was getting from people was exasperation, like, can you believe this is happening again? . . . What’s bothersome to a lot of Asian-American readers about it is not the satire; it’s the fact that Chinese things are kind of being used as the punch line or the prop.”
* There is an insatiable Orwellian urge among the modern Left to retcon the past. “The past is a different country” and they just can’t accept that in that country, women, blacks, etc. figured prominently in very few areas. So there is a constant urge to dig up some obscure figure – a black scientist, a female journalist, and retroactively promote him/her to the pinnacle of their profession. And young people are constantly bombarded with the images of these Heroes of Socialism to the point where they begin to think that ALL of the prominent people of the past must have been colorful/female. So when a lying liar like Talese who was actually there tells the truth, it is shocking.
* Following the link to the Times article, I scrolled down to the comments. Most of the comments I read were siding with Mr Talese and against the Times. It’s becoming evident to most how forced this whole shtick is.

“Calling Sweden, you will soon be connected to a random Swede.”
Those are the first words one hears when dialing the “Swedish Number,” a new hotline created to connect callers with local residents. A few flat tones later and the caller is patched through to, well, a random Swede.
One such call late Thursday morning connected with David Lamm, a product designer from the nation’s second most-populous city, Gothenburg. Lamm, who speaks English, volunteered to field calls on Wednesday, which was both the day the service launched and his 31st birthday.
“We were sort of invited to answer the phone for Sweden and I thought I had to sign up,” he said.
The conversation on Thursday was Lamm’s seventh through the service. His first was with a pleasant man from Istanbul, who, like this reporter, first asked about the weather. (It was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit and raining when we spoke.) Lamm also spoke with two Americans, he said.
“The interesting thing with both of those guys is that they were sort of calling with a Donald Trump-ish agenda,” he said. “They wanted to hear sort of ‘What the hell are you doing over there in Sweden, taking all those immigrants, all those Muslims.'”
(The nation welcomed more refugees per capita than much of Europe last year, though that openness has not come without its problems. Authorities have been accused of covering up crime allegedly committed by migrants, resulting in a sometimes-violent backlash.)
Lamm’s conversations were facilitated by the Swedish Number—46-771-793-336, or 46-771-SWEDEN—debuted on Wednesday and was conceived by the Swedish Tourist Association, a nonprofit that runs more than 350 accommodations including hostels, hotels, mountain stations and cabins.
It was launched to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the passage of what many say was the world’s firstpress freedom law. The hotline itself appears to mark another first: It is the world’s only national phone number connecting callers to local residents, the association said in a statement.
“We want to show the real Sweden – a unique country worth visiting with the right of public access, sustainable tourism, and a rich cultural heritage,” Magnus Ling, general secretary and chief executive officer of the association, said in a statement.
Just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, that meant Lamm, who, for what it’s worth, defended the refugees his country has welcomed.
“We’ve had problems in Sweden, of course, but it’s mostly due to us being bad at integration projects, he said. “I wouldn’t blame anything on the people coming here, I mean they’re fleeing for their lives.”
Lamm shared his experience growing up with refugees from the Bosnian conflict: “I grew up with a lot of those that came then and that worked out really good,” he said.
Blacks in the United States have the highest prostate cancer rate in the world and nearly twice that of whites in the United States. The 2:1 black-to-white ratio in prostate cancer rates is already apparent at age 45 years, the age at which the earliest prostate cancer cases occur. This finding suggests that the factor(s) responsible for the difference in rates occurs, or first occurs, early in life. Testosterone has been hypothesized to play a role in the etiology of prostate cancer, because testosterone and its metabolite, dihydrotestosterone, are the principal trophic hormones that regulate growth and function of epithelial prostate tissue. This report gives the results of assays of circulating steroid hormone levels in white and black college students in Los Angeles, CA. Mean testosterone levels in blacks were 19% higher than in whites, and free testosterone levels were 21% higher. Both these differences were statistically significant. Adjustment by analysis of covariance for time of sampling, age, weight, alcohol use, cigarette smoking, and use of prescription drugs somewhat reduced the differences. After these adjustments were made, blacks had a 15% higher testosterone level and a 13% higher free testosterone level. A 15% difference in circulating testosterone levels could readily explain a twofold difference in prostate cancer risk.
High testosterone is linked to aggression and correlates with violent crime rates. Just as men have higher testosterone levels than women and commit about ten times as much violent crime as women, so too do blacks have more testosterone than whites and commit more violent crimes than whites, while whites have higher testosterone levels than asians and commit more violent crime than asians.
High testosterone levels accounts for why blacks add more muscular definition more quickly and easily than whites who in turn bulk up more impressively than asians.
High testosterone levels probably don’t make for family stability, which may be part of the reason why east-asians enjoy more family stability than whites and whites more than blacks.

* Assuming that he did follow through with his economic proposals, which are still relatively vague, Trump’s policies would be good for deadbeats. Trump plans to greatly devalue the dollar while simultaneously running huge budget deficits in the first year or two of his presidency. Deportation of illegal aliens along with some measured reduction in the trade deficit will cause wage growth to accelerate. NGDP – nominal GDP – will go through the roof. The high inflation will reduce the value of debts and make them easier to pay off.
* According to his own account, Obama was a poor custodian of his own personal finances right up through his election to the Senate.
* You can’t sell cigarettes without getting people hooked, and you can’t make money as a bank unless some sucker takes out a loan from you.
There’s a fundamental problem with low interest rates. If you’re a bank and you’re being paid back at an interest rate of 4%, which is closer to what people had to pay in the 1960s and 1970s, it’s easier to make money than getting paid back at 1% interest rates. Mathematically speaking, if a bank needs X amount of income to survive as a business, they need 4 times the amount of loans out at 1% interest than at 4% interest.
The problem is, there aren’t necessarily 4 times the amount of people out there who are a good idea to lend to. If someone has to pay you back at 4%, a banker is more inclined to be judgmental about who that money is going to and whether they can be trusted to repay it. Low interest rates encourage stupid loans, because banks think even stupid people should be able to pay back at 1%, which isn’t always the case.
If a whole sector of the economy happens to go belly-up at once, banks will be destroyed. Case in point that I’ve been researching: Currently, a lot of banks have massive loans out to fracking and other associated oil industry companies that aren’t going to be paid back. I’ve seen an estimate that between now and September, over 140 companies will start missing payments to banks, and then those companies will begin to go bankrupt. Supposedly, banks have been telling these companies to sell off all their assets down to their office chairs before declaring bankruptcy, because when that happens, it’ll take our banking system down with it. A lot of banks didn’t bother to put aside cash reserves in case these big loans go bad because they never realized the whole fracking sector was going to die at once, and banks haven’t have enough time to build up emergency cash reserves of any significance since the price of gas began to drop.
This will mean another TARP-style bailout is going be necessary to save our banking system, and we’ll almost certainly have a big stock market crash like the one in 2008. Depending on the timing, this is going to be our October Surprise before the election.
Though I sort of relish the thought of all this blowing up in Obama’s face and staining his legacy, I’m not looking forward to the chaos. A stock market crash will deplete the value of pension funds, IRAs, etc., that many middle-class baby boomers are depending on for retirement, and their old age is going to be poorer than they expected. The collapse in gas prices is mostly Obama’s fault in the first place because of his Mideast antics with the Saudis. I hope he gets tarred, feathered, and wacked like a pinata on his way out the White House door.
* I’m a director of a community bank. For years we included in our written lending policy a reference to the “5 C’s of Credit,” which are:
Banks undergo two types of examinations from the regulatory authorities – one for safety and soundness, and the other for compliance with the numerous anti-discrimination and social engineering regulations such as the Community Reinvestment Act. The two types of exams often work at cross purposes, because safety and soundness require discrimination against people with bad credit, while the category of people with bad credit includes a disproportionate number of certified victim groups.
At one of our recent compliance exams the examiners criticized our lending policy because it included the word “character.” Why? Because it was “too subjective.” They wouldn’t say it, but I suspect that they felt it enabled some sort of invidious discrimination. On Monday, students at Indiana University Bloomington mistook a priest for a Ku Klux Klan member, taking to social media to express their fear of the alleged Klansman, who they claimed was carrying a whip, and dressed in “white robes.”

* Speaking of disco groups like K.C. and the Sunshine Band, I was just now reading up on Chic (Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards), who were huge right after K.C. in the late 1970s (“Le Freak” and “Good Times”). Chic was very influential on the first generation of rappers (e.g., the first Top 40 rap hit in the 1970s, the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” lifts Chic’s “Good Times” riff; and the 1980 #1 rap hit by Blondie, “Rapture,” also uses “Good Times,” while Queen’s 1980 #1 quasi-rap hit “Another One Bites the Dust” lifts the bassline).
But back in the late 1970s I always thought Chic sounded kind of New Wave as well sounding disco. Listening to the KC (two white guys and a bunch of black session musicians) from the mid-1970s, I can hear that Chic was doing something similar to KC in the late 1970s, but their guitar sound was janglier and more alien, kind of like what Johnny Rotten’s PIL was doing in the late 1970s and that U2 perfected in 1981.
And sure enough, it turns out that the first time Rodgers ever heard anybody rapping, in late 1978, it was at a NYC show that he had been invited to by … Deborah Harry and Chris Stein, the wife-husband leaders of the New Wave band Blondie. So the fact that Blondie had the first #1 rap hit turns out to make all sorts of sense.
Soon after Chic played in a show with Blondie and the Clash, who were living in New York in the second half of 1979, and the Clash released their own rap song in late 1980, “Magnificent Seven.” (I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some direct connection to Talking Heads, who released their own rap song in 1980, “Crosseyed & Painless.”)
Reading up on Nile Rodgers, I see that his stepfather was a Jewish beatnik drug addict in NYC. So it’s not surprising that black rap and white new wave were closely linked 35 years ago.

Martin van Creveld writes: Women’s inferiority to men in respect to physical strength, aerobic capacity, endurance and, above all, robustness, is obvious to all. The price is paid by their male colleagues; when a female trainee in a mixed unit breaks down, as often happens, guess who is going to carry her and/or her weapons and pack? But the price women have paid for serving in “combat” units has been much higher. Many of the documents in question are classified so as to avoid angering Israeli feminists, an aggressive and often obnoxious lot, by presenting them with the facts. Some, however, have been published by a former student of mine, Colonel (ret.) Raz Sagi.
The picture that emerges is not pretty. Less than 3 percent of IDF “combat troops” are female. However, over the last few years they, or the lawyers acting in their name, have served 10-15 percent of the suits concerning compensation for injuries suffered while on “operational activity” (whatever that may mean). In proportion to their numbers, women sue three to five times more often than men. Sagi’s book bristles with interviews with young women who served as, or trained for, “combat” MOS and were seriously injured, sometimes for life. Such cases are brought before the courts almost every day.
Now let’s take a closer look at what “combat” actually entails. The largest group, 442 out of 1,593, serve in three mixed battalions named “Caracal,” “Leopard,” and “Lions of the Jordan” respectively. In each of these they form 60 percent of the total. What all three have in common is that they are permanently deployed along the borders with Egypt and Jordan. Those in turn have this in common that, over the last forty years, they have seen hardly a shot fired in anger. The remaining women are divided between “combat intelligence collection” (meaning that they look for all kinds of interesting things after the battle is over), border police (meaning that they stand guard against terrorists, as Hadar Cohen, who was mentioned on this blog a few weeks ago, did), civil defense, and artillery.
It so happened that, a day after I completed this article, I watched a clip of artillery troops on a route march. The men, heavily loaded with equipment of all kinds, sweated, grunted and did their best to keep up. One or two female soldiers were marching along, carrying a much smaller pack and looking as if they were on a lark. Whatever they may have been doing there, clearly they were not being tested as the men were.
Neither the infantry, nor the armored corps, nor the engineers, nor the special units, which between them form the bulk of the IDF’s “teeth,” have any women at all. Scant wonder that, during Operation Protective Edge back in the summer of 2014, out of 66 Israeli troops who died not one was female.
Meanwhile the terminology has been changing. Having just celebrated my seventieth birthday, I can remember the time when the term lohem, meaning fighter or warrior, used to be the highest compliment anyone in Israel could receive. Nine cases out of ten, it referred to a soldier, a male one of course, who actually fired at, and was fired on by, the enemy. Now its female form, lohemet, also refers to all the above units, not one of which are meant to face an armed and trained enemy soldier able to fire back. Scant wonder that, in popular slang, the plural form of lohemet, lohamot, is often explained as meaning lo-hamot, “not-hot.”
Why does all this matter? For four reasons. First, as the term “not hot” implies, in Israel as in all other modern countries armed forces the presence of women has contributed to the decline in the prestige of those forces and, with it, their ability to attract high-quality male manpower. Presumably that is why the “Lions” (arayot, in Hebrew) battalion, in spite of being made up mostly of women, is not called leviot “Lionesses.” Or else surely any proper man would have shot himself rather than serve in it.
Second, in Israel as in all other modern countries that presence has led to “gender norming” and, with it, falling standards which, in case of war, could be dangerous. Third, as the above figures show, too many women who, whether out of idealism or sheer penis envy, volunteer to serve in “combat” units are injured, with bad consequences both for themselves and, since they have to be paid pensions, the defense budget. Fourth, outside Israel quite some people, being misinformed about the true state of affairs, still take the IDF as an example to follow.

Ironically, the anti-German argument for why Germany must take in millions of Muslims only makes sense using racialist logic:

When I lived in Germany, they were all very intense (much more so than your average American) about some cause or the other, environmentalism, saving the third world, world peace, etc. The causes had the commonality that they were somewhat vague and could never really be achieved. Again, it wasn’t the results that they were after but an escape.

Saddam Hussein and Qwadafii had a tendency to take things too far and believe their own BS, but Assad does not try to overplay his hand.
* Ariel Sharon counseled Bush NOT to invade. Of course, AIPAC wanted Saddam gone but then Jews in the US who are neoconservative are pretty much opposite the Likud people in Israel. * Most people don’t realize that the cultural support for mass immigration in America includes the stick as well as the carrot.
The carrot: it feels good to help other people who are less fortunate, doesn’t it? America has infinite goodness and infinite money, we can invite all of these people in, especially the ones who can’t help themselves. A generous heart never counts the cost. Even if you can’t have children yourself (lots of feminists never finish their punchlist), you can be like childless Mother Merkel and welcome the refugee children of the world (even if a lot of them are working age men). Be open, forgiving, generous, helpful. Doesn’t it feel good?
The stick: America’s Original Sin is slavery, says the President of the United States, and everybody knows who he means. All of the white men in America are guilty, guilty, guilty regardless of what their actual ancestors were doing. There is no redemption for this Original Sin; no American Jesus who died for you. Reparations are only fair, but as Ta-Nehisi tells us, they will never be enough. Sin with no possibility of redemption – is there any way out for white men? Unlike most religious traditions, suicide is actually the recommended way out.
National suicide. Expunge the northern European heritage that also includes the blood guilt of the history of the Americas, the genocide of the native people and the economic slavery of the hispanic people. Germany is leading the most recent rally because Germany: they lead everything in the EU, and generally Germans have extreme dispositions which steer them to the logical endpoints of whatever path or policy they are currently taking.
* The bourgeois of the civilized world tend to even subconsciously obscure blood connections so the frame of reference is not so much heredity but historical/cosmic processes. So #1 and #2 from a bourgeois white pov is seen through those filters in this way:
1. Atonement — Trains in Germany once transported Jews to death camps; now the trains bring refugees from war zones to Germany for refugee. That’s cosmic justice and taking in a million refugees is restoration of the moral universe.
2. It can never happen again — The historical roots of the disasters that befell Europe in the aftermath of WWI and WWII are the dual evils of nationalism and racism. Therefore to prevent the causes of those disasters is a counter reaction against root causes. If WWII happened because racist ideology held the superior Nordic race deserved to rule the world, conquer Eastern Europe, and multiple, then the appropriate counter reaction is extinguishing Nordicism: non-whites must be brought into Nordic lands and race mixing should be encouraged so that the Nordic race disappears and the conquering impulse relinquished.
So there is still heredity at play in this way of thinking but it’s not the main structure of elite ideological thinking.
* If the Nazis never happened, then there would not be the reflex adverse reaction to anything that is not an extreme rejection of all things Nazi. So today it would be ok for European countries to want to keep their own individual ethnicities. It would be ok to not want a flood of third world refugees whose culture is incompatible with Europe. It would be considered crazy to allow masses of lowly educated people with a backward culture to immigrate.
But not all the blame should be placed on the Nazis. Part of the blame goes on the victorious allies for being overly sanctimonious and actually believing themselves when they declared that they “saved” western civilization. 3. Declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel would do nothing. The Israeli government was ethnically cleansing it at apparently just the right rate not to ever bring serious pressure to bare and would do so afterward. It is a bizzarre decision because East Jerusalem was always supposed to be the capital of the Palestinian state. Recognising the entire city as the capital of Israel would end the ability of the US to even broker the (Admittedly farcical) two state solution talks. The Neo-Cons exist and make explicit their ideology. Hell, even Wolf Blitzer was once the head PR man for the Israel military in DC. Why did Clinton, Saunders and Trump (Even missing a debate) all go to the AIPAC conference, you know that annual event that average Americans care so much about?
If there is no powerful Israel lobby why are American politicians so terrified of it?

Except also that the media never mentions Israel – a country that borders the region of civil war, does that not strike you as strange? And the public mention Israel very rarely but when they do, the big AS label is immediately brought out by a plethora of Jewish people complaining. And don’t forget Europeans can get a criminal record for being deemed AS. That’s a huge disincentive to open debate.
