* Chaim Amalek: Hitler, I am sorry to say, wiped out many of the world’s smartest Jews and effectively brought to an end the world of German Jewry. And yes, that community of Jews really was more sophisticated and intelligent than just about any other community of people, Jewish or otherwise, anywhere. You can see the result, both for the Jews and for Germany.
