Romantic Gestures

Jane writes: "What are your thoughts on dating literary fans? Believe it or not, I have a couple. They are attractive and they come over and thumb through my writing, read it out loud and tell me I’m amazing. I’m wondering….why not exclusively date fans instead of chasing after these "unavailable" men. Why pass up being adored for some un conceivable challenge? Your thoughts?"

"Would you refuse a romantic gesture if you didn’t fancy the taste of something? The person giving it to you is someone you are dating."

Luke: If I loved the person less than I hated the food, I’d refuse.

Jane writes: Yeah, I have a canoli situation. Pretty funny… I’m officially turned off and may never talk to this guy again, over a canoli refusal. He’s obviously not a fan! And this is what you deal with with you date non-fans.

Luke: Fans become just as difficult because no "fan" you date is going to remain a fan…
