Rabbis Strike

EvasNotes reports:

In Israel, every week or so, another faction employed by the government goes on strike. Garbage collectors go on strike every few months and the way Jerusalem residents deal with it is by burning all their garbage in the metal canisters. Since Jerusalem is built almost entirely with stone, there is not much of a fire hazard, and the risk is off-set by the desire to have a nicer smelling city.

This week, the Rabbanut is on strike for reasons pertaining to salaries. This means that many bakeries and restaraunts do not have hashgachos hanging in their stores, even though they are kosher.
